At the center of the Life Sphere was a high tech building that contained a large source of the defenses in the Life Sphere. The door was usually sealed tight and pretty well detected and only authorized personal like the leaders or their chancelors were allowed in along with the team that was developed to maintain it. Shulk was given temporary access into the room so Eggman and Mario can speak to him about helping with the Life Sphere's Defenses.

Eggman was busy tweaking some alien object in a room filled with many technological marvels. There were computers and generators of all time and the inside was filled with blue circuitry. "Maybe I can be of-a some help?" Mario suggested from a computer chair he was sitting in since Eggman told him not to touch anything. The last thing he needed was this leader ruining the place with his inexperienced hands. "While your resume... is quite impressive with how many jobs you have, I can't have inexperienced hands use these. Besides, I am getting things set up for our guest. Wouldn't Samus of been a better fit for this? Some of this is her tech?" Mario gave a sigh and looked down with a frown.

"She's... with Peach on a hunt for a Power Star. I don't know why she did not invite me. I have helped with that plenty of times," Mario commented looking a bit down. Huh, looks like he found something interesting. "Well, we can not have Sonic leading the place while you're both away now can we? You both may come back to no Life Sphere," Robotnik replied which seemed to cheer Mario up. "You're-a right! Besides, I get to meet a new ally. What was his name again? Hulk?" Mario pondered as he seemed much more excited now.

"... It's Shulk. Speaking of which, he should be getting here now," the scientist of the two corrected as he closed what he was working on. "Great! Let's-a get started!" Mario declared in excitement as he jumped up...  What a childish leader...

    Shulk walked up to the building where the Life Sphere's main defences were worked on. He was to meet Dr. Robotnik, as well as Mario, to discuss a job as a mechanic for the Life Sphere's defense network. Thoughts rushed through Shulk's head as he waited for Robotnik and Mario to meet him, mainly memories of his job on the Defense Force back in Colony 9, and he wondered if this job would be something similar. While his old job mostly involved working with weapons, particularly the Monado, Shulk had picked up much knowledge of machines like the Anti-Air Batteries and the vehicles like the ones that the Defense Force used in their drills. Shulk wondered what kind of defenses the Life Sphere used, and how they worked.

The door to the inner defenses opened which... was a rare sight as it seemed to have extra layers for extra protection just in case someone tried to break into the defenses. In the doorway stood a familiar face for nearly anyone with knowledge of the politics in this world, Mario. "Hello! You must be-a Shulk. We already did-a little digging but come-a inside. It's best to not-a talk out here. Come on!" Mario insisted as he walked back in, waiting for a moment for Shulk to follow before the door would seal itself, assuming he decided to take Mario up on his offer.

 Eggman looked to the monado wielder for a moment as he got out of a rolling chair in front of a large chest. "Dr. Eggman, you probably already know Mario," Eggman introduced as he held out a hand to test Shulk's handshake. He was noticeably the much more professional of the two despite the fact Mario was the big leader though it was a bit evident how Eggman may of gotten this far. "Now, Shulk, care to tell us your experience in the field of technology?" the doctor asked as he sat back down. The leader in the room pulled up a clipboard and a red pen labeled with an "M" insignia, apparently being here to take notes on Shulk's actions.

The home of the defenses of the Life Sphere was filled with Chozo like technology, made of foreign materials with a bunch of devices to keep up the barrier as well as data logs and other data on isolated information, though taking a peak would probably be frowned upon. Though, there was other technology as well, notably large metallic machines and devices a bit more modern and less alien, with a few things like a tool dispenser, a materials container, and a few computers and devices lying around. Though, there was also a door labeled as the "Life Sphere's Top Secret Facility, Off Limits to all personal except those appointed by the Leaders, E. Gadd or Eggman."... Wonder what's down there.

Before too long, the door to the main defence building opened, and inside waited the famous Mario. Shulk recognized him instantly, which wasn't to surprising since Mario is a leader. Standing next to him was a man that Shulk didn't recognize, but deduced that he must be Dr. Robotnik. Mario quickly ushered him inside, saying it wasn't safe out here. Shulk nodded in agreement, and followed Mario in.

Inside, Eggman rose and offered his hand for a handshake as he introduced himself. "Good to meet you, Dr. Eggman. My name is Shulk" Shulk introduced himself. He took a seat as Eggman did the same, and the interview started.

"Well, back in my world, I was working with the Defence Force in my hometown, Colony 9. I worked there as a weapon developer, usually making or repairing weapons for the local soldiers. I've also picked up knowledge about the Anti-Air Batteries that they used, as well as any vehicles they used for drills." Shulk paused, gathering his thoughts. "A little personal project of mine was the Monado. I wanted to know how it worked, and if I could make something similar to it to help defend the colony"
