Raffine stopped what she was doing at the sound of Schezo's voice, only to find that he was ... not paying much attention to her. ...She knew it was Arle's birthday, but--... Raffine dropped the rubble she was holding rather unceremoniously and turned to regard the scene from a distance. Was that a hint of jealousy in her eyes..? After a long moment, of watching the following exchange, she left to return to the kitchen. Where was she going?? ...Thankfully, she soon returned and it all became clear. She'd gone to retrieve a present. What had Raffine even gotten Arle with all the money she didn't have? As Raffine left, she noticed that Amitie had all but passed the heck out while she was gone. Torn, she glanced back and forth for a moment before moving to deposit her present at Arle's side and wish her a happy birthday before excusing herself with a slice of cake. ...There was something she needed to do.
(She's vulnerable, you know.)
A stream of curses flooded Raffine's mind. She was not in the mood for whatever vile garbage the voice would tell her this time.
(...Well that wasn't very lady like at all. And here I thought you took pride in that front.)
Raffine had to take a moment to recompose herself. Of course that hadn't worked. It never did.
(You could have all of Amitie's natural born talent. Just think about how much better use it could be put to in your hands...)
...It did sound tempting, but Raffine knew there was some screwed up catch to the offer. He wasn't just offering to copy Amitie's power. No, that was too convenient. He wanted her to kill Amitie.
(Murder is such a strong word. Think of it more as an overdue correction to the unfair hand you've been dealt by the universe... with a little bit of interest, of course. Hehe... She's helpless. All you have to do is reach out and take what you truly desire.)
Raffine rolled her eyes. Always with the sweet nothings with this voice. Take what she desired? More like taking Amitie's heart and shattering it! There was no point to any of this!
(...Oooh yes. That's a wonderful idea. Reach out and take her heart. Rip it out with your bare hands. Then eat it!)
Raffine shuddered as a rather graphic image filled her mind, causing her hands to tremble and accidentally drop the plate of cake she'd grabbed. It shattered against the floor, snapping her out of her rather distressing thoughts. ...That was just... wrong. Anxiously rubbing one of her wrists, Raffine checked about her for a bit to see if anyone noticed her momentary breakdown before moving to scoop Amitie into her arms bridal style. That maddening voice aside, it was time for someone to go home and get some rest. As Raffine made her way out of the curry shop, the voice would return for one last maddening remark.
(...I don't understand you and this self-destructive behavior. Why do you worry about breaking her heart? She told you herself how much she hates you--Perhaps even more than you hate her. Do you think you even can? ...You're no hero; we both know that, so why are you trying so hard?)
(Exit Raffine)
Meanwhile...
Arle gave Viridi a rather puzzled look. What was she..? Eh. She probably had her reasons. She knew that Viridi wasn't on the best terms with everyone in the Life Sphere and could be a little reclusive at times. Besides, it sounded quite nice. She nodded in understanding before being confronted with curry--And like a ton of other presents. She honestly recoiled slightly when Ecolo approached her, a very noticeable fear in her body language, but thankfully he didn't seem to even notice and soon left her be. Arle would have likely questioned his presence, but she really just... didn't want to provoke fate when it came to that dude. "Oh wow--These are a lot of presents." Arle admitted, still somewhat nervous still. She decided to turn her attention to Schezo first. Some curry would help her calm down... The mage would reach out and accept the plate of curry. "You made this, Schezo..?" Arle asked, a tad bewildered. What had she ever done to deserve a gift like this? This was like, the nicest thing she could've asked for! ...Would've asked for, anyway. Arle would quickly move to taste the curry, speculative as to its quality.
...
" . . . Wow, this is really good Schezo! I can't believe you did this for me~!"
Arle was glowing with color and gratitude after tasting the curry. It seemed to be a big hit with her, judging by how giddy she got. She quickly moved to set the curry down at a table that ... was mostly intact? Good enough, right? Right. Soon the cake would be brought to the table and cut, with Arle receiving the first slice at Viridi's behest. She was honestly saving the cake for after she finished this curry, which might take a while as she became distracted with her other gifts. First came Glover's gem, which she gathered up and held close to her chest. "Wow... This is really pretty!" Arle mused aloud. She ... had no idea what she'd do with it, but it would be a nice reminder of her friends and that was enough. Maybe she could have it integrated into some form of jewelry later..? "Thank you, Glover! You're pretty handy~" Arle would go on to remark rather light-heartedly. Next came Ecolo's gift. Arle hesitated a moment, half expecting it to explode, but thankfully it didn't. The mage was relieved, setting the box down on her lap for later review while she moved on to the next gift. It happened to be Raffine's. She opened it and produced a chibi wing hairclip. The Primp Magic School emblem..? How cute~! It was a rather odd gift, but ... Was she an honorary student now? Finally, Arle moved to open Pit's gift. She could tell Pit had wrapped it himself, mostly because it looked like he'd struggled with making it look nice. ...He was such a kid. When she opened it however, she was shocked to find ... an odd yet very pretty bow! A bow?! Arle was shocked. I mean, she appreciated the gift, but ... she had no idea how to use a bow! Especially not an arcane bow with no string attached. How even..?
"Woah, a bow? thank you Pit! Maybe you can show me how to use this sometime...~"
((Everyone who hasn't already and wishes to. Please take this moment to have your character give Arle her gift. Assume she accepts and opens it and describe the gift inside so that we can finish things up. In the next GM post or two the thread will officially finish.))
