Arle meandered out into the battlefield--or rather, Little Arle did. One might have to question the morality of the life sphere for themselves after witnessing a five-year-old bouncing out into the limelight to get her cute little face beaten in, but then again... Arle wasn't exactly a helpless child--now was she?

The tiny girl looked about at the crowd, taking in just how much attention was on her right about now. Oh dear. That was a lot of people! It was intimidating in it's own right, but Arle wasn't about to shy away from a crowd. She didn't have stage fright. Instead, she raised one of her arms and waved at everyone in an awkwardly endearing manner.

"Hellooo!"

    A few minutes passed as people began wondering when the other combatant would show up. It was rumored that a very famous battler was going to show up, one of the rulers of Li in fact! The seating had all sold out as anticipated people traveled to watch the cyan super-star in action. Many arrived in order to yell insults at him and even a few assassins were caught attempting to sneak into the arena. When the prospect arose that the fighter wouldn't show up, an uproar rose from the crowd. People began reaching out of their seats and started even throwing things at the arena and announcers box. Just as the yelling hit its peak though, and it seemed as if a riot would break out...

"Did somebody order blue with a Robot-kicking side of blur?"

    Words rang out over the stadium, not loud but yet enough to silence the entire crowd as a blur of speeding cyan rushed into the arena. It circled around the perimeter seemingly hundreds of time, kicking up a dust cloud and causing a cyclone of blue wind to kick up even more debris. It seemed to last only moments though as the dust and rapid wind soon faded away to reveal a cocky figure standing in the middle of the arena in his signature pose. Everyone in the stadium was quiet for what seemed like hours as everyone was completely stunned at the appearance... "GO SONIC!!! YEAH SONIC!!! YOU SUCK SONIC! GET OUT OF THE ARENA, YOU HACK! YOU RULE SONIC!!!" Voices suddenly broke the monotonous silence, some cheering support with others slinging curses and throwing the stadium into split mayhem.

    "Well, word travels fast for an alien planet. Didn't think i'd gain a fan club in one day; but figures, I am way past cool." Sonic remarked after letting out a loud whistle. He figured entering a fighting competition would get him some money to buy some food (Chili-Dogs)... and that was basically it. Sonic wasn't one to normally compete in organized events, so this would probably be a one time deal. "Who thought they'd make me fight a kid though?" Looking at the girl Sonic had to fight, she reminded him for a split second of his little buddy Tails that he had left back home. Boy did he miss the two-tailed kid, but he needed to focus at the task at hand. Worrying about other stuff wasn't his style anyway. Shaking his head once more at the prospect of fighting her. "That's no good."

Amidst the chaos of the bipolar audience, one man arose to the occasion. As slurs and insults were flung at the strangely younger looking Life Sphere leader like pebbles at a publicised stoning, one figure was able to muscle his way through the crowd. Bright and white triangular eyes shined through his visor and a stoic smirk grew on his countenance. Without another representative in sight, it was finally his turn to take over.

Once he found a cleared path in the stands, the man in the navy jumpsuit began to race his way down from the top aisle all the way down to the guard rails that separated the audience from the arena pit below. With relative ease, the man vaulted over the security bars and swan dived toward the center of the battle field. “FALCON-” he announced as his muscular body blocked out the artificial sun for the duo below. “-PAWNCH!” he finished as he ground pounded his fist as it was erupting with the fury of the flaming bird that was his namesake.

Once he was on the same level as the two combatants, he laughed in his manchild-like wonder, returning to his feet and placing his fists against his hips. “YES! It’s time for another rocking rumble here in the Sunshine Stadium!” the Police Chief announced into a microphone that he seemingly acquired from thin air. “We have, this five year old girl!” he presented with a splay of his hand. Though he also leaned over to her whilst setting the mic aside to say “rooting for you, little brah. Pound it!” as he offered her a fist bump.

Regardless of whether she completed the gesture, he returned to his duties. “VERSUS Sonic the Hedgehog himself! Gotta say bro, I need to know your secret! You look ten years younger!” Captain Falcon proclaimed once more. “I dunno if either of you are associated with the rules of the Stadium, but I’ll pass’em by you anyway! Firstly, no outside help, that means no use of items and no allies, only what you are capable of doing! Secondly, this is a clean fight, we need every person we can, so I want both of you leaving this place in one piece! Thirdly, you get five bouts to show everyone here what you got! Other than that, let’s have some fun!” he exclaimed as he prepped himself to move out of the way once the fighting began.

Arle was sittingon the ground looking rather dejected and even a bit terrified by the time Sonic showed up. She didn't like being at the center of all that negative attention. What had she done to deserve this?! ...Finally however, Sonic showed up.

"Whadya mean no good? I'm weally weally good!" Arle corrected, apparently misunderstanding the reference.

Soon enough however, Captain Falcon arrived and introduced her to the crowd, offering Arle a fistbump. Arle beamed brightly at Captain Falcon in response to him admitting to rooting for her and giggled, reaching out with her tiny little hand and fist bumping the police chief.

"Thanks Mr. Falcon! He doesn' look too tuff." Arle went on to remark. Oh snap, the call outs.

The tiny mage began bounce and sway in a rhythmic manner, idly dancing on the spot in an excitable manner. Like any child her age, she appeared to be full of energy. After Captain Falcon explained the rules Arle turned to Sonic and struck an endearingly unintimidating battle pose, smiling brightly at him.

"You're 'way past' late, Sonic~!" Arle mocked, pointing proudly at the hedgehog in tandem with her sass.

"Daiakyuuto!" Child Arle blurted out, weaving a circle of minor conjuration in the air in front of her with her hand. The magic circle then condensed into a ball which began to orbit her body. The attack didn't seem to have a purpose ... for now.

    Sonic groaned to himself as his words were completely lost on Arle. Apparently she had no qualms against attacking Sonic, unlike him, as she had already begun casting some sort of magic spell. "Ugh. This is a major bummer..." Sonic groaned before deciding on how to react. It wouldn't feel right for him to simply start attacking her when she hadn't done anything to him yet... But leaving himself wide open and waiting for the attack would just be a stupid move, and put him at a disadvantage...

    "I got it!" Sonic suddenly interjected while snapping his fingers. "Time to rocket and juice it!" Putting his arms behind his back, Sonic began running in place. As his movements kept picking up faster and faster, his legs blurred together into a figure eight while a fine layer of dust and dirt began to kick up behind him.

    

"Watch out, I'm definin' SUPER COOL!" He repeated one of his many "humble" catchphrases in a radical tone while his legs moved faster and faster, by now indistinguishable from each other.

    The strange thing though that while his legs were moving at an incredible speed, his body wasn't even moving from place. It looked as if the both of them had a trick up their sleeve now...

“AH HA HA HA! Welcome one and all to yet another glorious day within the Sunshine Stadium!”

“…Kill me”

“Not now, Big Top! We have a show to get on the road! This is only, what, the third match we had to commentate today? And there’s still plenty more! Oh the excitement! Can’t you feel it, Big Top!?”

“…If you mean the agony of my brain feeling like it’s going to burst out of my skull anytime yet, then yes. I didn’t even know I had any of those things in my anatomy, but today has taught me that I do.”

“Uh… EXCELLENT! Anyways! Today’s a classic matchup! Popular figures in the Life Sphere versus barely decade old girls! Sonic has a leg up over Game & Watch this time around though, he actually stayed to fight his young adversary!”

“They seem to be getting younger each time…”

“Yes! I personally can’t wait until Mario fights a toddler! Oh how the Sunshine Stadium ratings will rocket!”

“…They aren’t doing anything…”

“I paid two green shells for this!?”

“Hrm… The audience does seem to be getting testy! Fret not though loyal listeners! They both appear to be deeply contemplating their next moves! It is a battle of wits! A game of chicken! To see who cracks under the pressure first! Oooo how exciting!”

“…About as exciting as watching paint dry.”

“That’s the spirit, Big Top!”

“…You would be excited to watch paint dry…”

“Of course! I own the whole series! I’ll lend you some copies sometime!”

(Wow, that does look pretty fast! I wonder what would happened if he tripped...) Little Arle mused to herself.

It took Little Arle a moment to realize the genius in her thoughts. Wait--she had a tool she could use to try and force him to trip! Little Arle produced a small ribbon from her hair and held it up proudly on display, pulling her arm back and tossing the delicate looking ribbon at Sonic!

The ribbon might look rather innocent at first glance, but it was, in fact, a magic ribbon that acted more like a boomerang. ...A boomeribbon. The ribbon would soar out towards Sonic, threatening to wrap around his legs and trip him up hard if it landed its mark before finally returning to Arle's hands. While this was going on, Arle began to recite a spell

"Konan!" the mage shouted, laying a curse upon Sonic!

The curse, empowered by Arle's earlier diacute spell, did no damage in and of itself but was intended to lock up Sonic's muscles to make him easier to keep up with. If she could just keep him from going fast, she'd have this match in the bag! Finally, Arle went on the offensive. Pointing her finger up into the sky, she recited a second spell. "Sandaa!" Arle shouted. It was hard to tell what exactly she was trying to say through her poor grasp of words. Her spell made itself known in short order, a bolt of lightning falling from above to try and strike Sonic!

"OH YEAH!!!" Sonic yelled out as he suddenly blasted off. All of the speed he had been building up until then exploding in a burst that sent a shock-wave rippling behind him; a Sonic Boom.

    The ribbon that Arle tossed at Sonic in hopes of entangling him sailed directly into his path, however it was destined to fail. When Sonic completely disappeared from his position with his "Super Peel Out!" Technique, the insinuating Sonic Boom completely blasted it away as he no longer was remotely close to that position.

    While his form became nearly invisible save a blur of cyan streaks across the arena, a Sonic felt a tingling sensation in his head. It made hims strangely want to completely stop moving for some reason... BUT THAT'S LAME!? "Ooh, I'd love to stop and chat but I gotta juice!" He told the sensation in his head as the tremendous feeling of speed overcame the hedgehog once more, completely blocking out the sensation while he circled the arena hundreds of times over.

    It wasn't until a bolt of lightning struck the ground of the arena near Sonic that he got fully serious. "WOAH!" He yelled after the bolt fired directly at the speeding hedgehog. Putting his legs into overdrive though, Sonic's Figure Eight Technique overclocked! To him, the bolt moved in slow motion as he curled up into a ball in his signature Spin Attack. The momentum of this new burst of speed passed neatly underneath the lightning just before it had struck the ground. "Sorry, But i'm burning way past cool!" His voice jabbed as he directed his spin attack  to rebound off of the wall.

    As he struck at Arle full force, Sonic's voice projected himself towards every corner of the arena from his constant spinning. "Parent's don't let your kids near electrical appliances!" He jabbed in an informational tone while his Super Peel Out!/Spin Dash Combo attack directed itself towards the unfortunate Arle.

    Sonic came out from his rapid roll facing Arle once more, his position like that of a starting runner prepared to begin a race once more as he slid backwards a few feet as he slowed down himself with his hands and feet. Dust and dirt were sprayed into the air as a result, making it even harder to witness the hyper fast hedgehog. "Do i hear one more?" Sonic shouted out before kicking off into a ridiculously fast dash once more and curling into his regular spin attack.

    Finally stopping his assault attack, slowing to a stop in a similar fashion to a few seconds earlier. "Alright then!" He smirked before once more curling into a ball, this time however he was spinning alarmingly fast while in place; this move reminiscent of his Super Peel Out! This Super Spin Dash charged his spinning speed in bursts, with each one Sonic's voice growing louder.

"AND. THAT'S. A. WRAP, FOLKS!"

    Sonic's Super Spin Dash traveled on a direct course for Arle to barrage her with a numerous amount of hits. It's speed alarming due to being charged up for maximum damage and becoming the icing on the spectacular barrage of blows Sonic had rained down on the magical girl.

“WOAH! They might’ve been holding back at the start, but once they got going, oh boy, did they ever fly! Look at all those bolts of thunder trying to strike Sonic!”

“…Ah yes, ‘bolts of thunder.’ If you listen carefully you might hear the lightning…”

“But Sonic just keeps zooming past them! It’s like he’s made of that stuff! Wait, did you say something, Big Top?”

“Nope”

“Ah, good! Didn’t want to stumble over your words while we see a true master back in the dojo!”

“Moron…”

“Ah! You know, sometimes it makes you wonder what it was like to live on Morbius, to see the hedgehog in his prime!”

“…No, keep going, I think you’re on to something…”

“If only Sonic were here to see just how good he’s doing in the ring right now! Oh! I could only imagine what it would be like!”

“…Are you actually aware of what comes out of your mouth when you speak?”

“You’re right, Big Top! I’ll give him a call!”

“…He’s right down there though…”

“Shh, Big Top, I’m on the phone”

“Woah! You’ve reached Sonic the Hedgehog. I can’t come to the phone right now, E Gadd’s putting some tests on me to make sure I’m not actually a Starvia spy or clone, weird right? Anyway, if you’re calling to tell me how stupid my plan is, up yours. If not, please leave a message after the beep.”

“Peh! Those Leader Guys are never home when I call them! I’ve tried to get in contact with Samus for a couple days now and she won’t even bother to pick up the phone!”

"Waaaah!"

Where had all her plans gone?! He was too fast! So fast that it overwhelmed Arle and she promptly panicked, retreating into her bubble shield after being struck by the first blow. A blue bubble formed around her body, shielding her from both of Sonic's remaining blows as he plowed into her. The bubble seemed to shrink considerably, but it held out against the odds and protected her from both of Sonic's blows. Little Arle opened her eyes only after the attacks had finished, having used the moment of safety to recompose herself.

She lowered her shield and released a breath she'd been holding in, focusing back in on the battle.

A small whine escaped Arle. "Aright. Gotta be bwave!" she mused aloud, attempting to still her rapidly beating heart.

Now was a bad time to learn you were afraid of speedy hedgehogs. Something about how quickly he could move and how noisy his movements were freaked her right out. Arle thrust her hand into the air, mustering the courage to overcome her fears. "Sandaa!" she blurted out, a familiar spell. Just because her strategy hadn't come to fruition right away didn't mean she should abandon it.

Pouting at no one in particular, Little Arle promptly made a second attempt to correct her speech. "Mmm... Konan!" she blurted out, trying again to lay a curse upon Sonic's mind. This time she was relying on luck a little bit more, however.

    Sonic was getting really bored just running around and hitting Arle. If this kept going on, he'd win in a cinch! Suddenly, an idea popped into the hedgehog's brain after seeing another bolt of lightning rain down onto the arena in slow motion. "Hm... Let's make it more interesting..."

    Purposely not making an effort to dodge the incoming bolt, Sonic instead did the unthinkable! Jumping directly into the path of the lightning bolt, Sonic curled into his ball form once more and spun at an alarming rate in a single burst just as the bolt hit him. "Yeah! I'm Hypersonic Ultra Cool!"

"How do ya like my Patented Insta Shield?" He teased after landing from the intense spin, the bolt harmlessly careening off of Sonic's spinning form in a flash of light and rebounding at the wall where broke a hole in it.

    Landing on his feet after the jump, Sonic held his head for a moment. That weird feeling in his head from before was back... and it made him a little drowsy? Shaking his head quickly, smacking his cheeks to try and awaken himself more, Sonic let out a yawn. "Yaaaaaaaawn. Jeez; guess that Insta Shield really drained the ol' Hog's fuel." It wasn't any matter though, Sonic could still fight... and he had just the thing to help him get back into the running spirit!

    "Wait, Time out!" Sonic yelled, blowing a safety whistle that he suddenly had in his mouth while holding his hands in a "T" signal. Plopping himself onto the floor with his legs spread out in front of him, Sonic pulled out some sort of metal monitor with a shoe symbol on it before breaking it open as a bright red and white light now emanated from his shoes.

    "Aw yeah! This  is happenin'!" Sonic yelled out before he began running twice as fast as he did before! His blue form kicking up dust an winds in every direction with nobody even able to focus on his form any more. Rushing behind Arle, Sonic appeared out of nowhere before tapping her on the shoulder and running off once more in a flash. When he finally stopped he was lazily lying down on the floor with a bored look on his face.

    "Maybe you should throw in the towel? I can get a little too radical!" His mocking tone only help accentuate his impatience with his newfound speed; a factor that was only going to get worse. "What's that?" He said before holding his hand to his ear. "Did you say you want me to go faster? Well who am I to disappoint!" Leaping from the wall at an incredible speed, Sonic tapped into his chaos powers to further overclock his speed and strength.

"I'm goin' HYPER MODE, Baby!" He shouted out as his body was surrounded in flashing chaos energy. (DEX +4, STR +4, CON -4, Duration: 3 Posts, Cooldown: 6 Posts)

    Sonic landed briefly on the ground before charging up his Hyper Mode charged Super Spin Dash!!! The blast of energy from the attack rocketed Sonic forward at an alarming pace to completely destroy anything in his path. "Kids, Don't try this at home!" His casual voice jabbed during the attack once more as he assaulted Arle with his Super-Powered Blow!

“…So, what you’re telling me is that guy down there isn’t Sonic? And you somehow knew that?”

“I know everything, Big Top!”

“That is incredibly debatable, but go on…”

“Well, it’s quite clear, isn’t it? I mean, just look at him! He looks like the Leader we all know and some love, but he’s a much smaller version of him! His arms and legs are much more stumpy and-”

“He’s somehow more obnoxious…”

“Don’t insult such a prized fighter, Big Top! The word they prefer is more personality!”

“Like how you have a ton of personality?”

“Exactly!”

“…I see. So that’s how you insult someone while still being PC, gotcha. I still prefer to be cynical enough so people understand I’m demeaning them though…”

“And that is your preference, Big Top! See, we can all live in this world as equals!”

“…So, what exactly does that make of the hedgehog down there?”

“That is his time traveling clone from a different dimension! What you are seeing down there may look like and act like Sonic, but when you speak his activation code he will instantly become a specially trained assassin!”

“I can’t quite decide if I would love or hate to live in whatever imaginary world you think you inhabit right now…”
