The seemingly mindless swarm of Bowser’s minion swept through the streets, leaping over newsstands and anxiously shoving their way forward. For an army, it was rather unorderly and generally disorganized, but the further back that on investigates their line-up the numbers decreased significantly. The back of the line-up was made mostly of the slowest or most unfit warriors that the faction had to offer, but even further behind them was a Koopa sporting a floral pattern t-shirt that one would usually associate with a tropical area and a big smirk on his beak. He rested his arms behind his head, providing a rather laid back appearance for a time of war and if Charizard was following his orders he would be directly by his side. While he was not one of Bowser’s generals, the turtle that went by the name of Koops was their current stand in.

“Ah, you know I was never really into this whole ‘Gang Wars’ business. In fact, I wouldn’t really have been here if not for my girlfriend. Oh bro, she’s a total babe. Anyway, apparently she’s really into Bowser’s ideas, so I decided to support her however I can, yah dig?” the scout rambled as he continued to show why turtles were regarded as one of the slowest creatures around. “I’m sure she’ll be here soon. She’s a lot better at this scouting business than I am. Like, I don’t even know what we’re supposed to be looking for, but it’s whatevs. I mean, I could be on the Frontlines, but I think my Jiu Jitsu skills might be a bit too much for those Kremlings. Gotta give ‘em a chance, am I right?” Koops joked as he elbowed his partner in crime.

Meanwhile, whilst the anxious fire breathing beast attempts to sway the opinion of the slacker Koopa, a rather underhanded ploy begins to turn its wheels. The Eggman stamped cannon was finally being wheeled out from its off base garage. The weapon was absolutely massive, rivaling King Dodongo in mere size and girth. It would be an unbelievable hassle to get the device to move anywhere if not for the wheeled platform that had been very carefully constructed to handle its sheer weight.

The Egg Pawns on guard began to nudge the mobile gun into the direction of the hired help and proceeded to force it forward and down the road. It might take them a bit of time to reach the ravenous horde that was Bowser’s army.

Charizard rumbled in irritation as he flew back to find his ward meandering toward the battlefield, there were actually people fighting that could use his help!

He tossed his head and rolled his eyes as the Koopa simply rambled on, no care in the world. For once Charizard wished he could speak in any other languages than Pokemon, if only to speed this up.

He glanced wistfully at the site of battle, that sounded amazing! He flapped rather quickly in the general direction, hoping the turtle would get a hint a speed it up.

Viridi walked by the giant weapon Eggman created to take care of Bowser's Troops by surprise. She had to admit, Eggman had a very good strategy she approved of very highly. When in doubt, nuke the enemy into oblivion. It was a very sound strategy that worked as long as someone did not meddle with it... Though, with how big this thing was, meddling seemed very likely to be a thing that would occur from this.

Arle of course was assigned to the same task she was considering she was her in her Forces. She needed some kind of watch on Arle considering she would probably be too busy fighting to keep an eye on her through telepathy. She was still in that Cat Suit from the Lunar Sanctum as well... There was no real point in removing it so she did not bother... Besides... She was not entirely sure if there was a way to take it off without harm. "Okay, Arle, we are approaching Bowser's forces. We need to keep them distracted from the cannon at all costs! We shall fire it at the most opportune moment and make it so numbers are on our side. Accomplishing this will make Eggman's victory and a better leader that much closer! The forefront of Eggman's army is counting on us to get this done! Are you ready?" Viridi pep talked Arle as the Egg Pawns pushed the Cannon closer.

A cat--er..wait... no. A cat girl! Mage... A girly mage wearing a cat suit joins the battle! There.

...Or rather, she was on cannon guard duty. Arle was a frail and lovely, if she did say so herself, mage type. Unless she tapped into the terrible power of the seraphim orb, she would be of little use helping push the cannon. "I'm purrready! Honestly, I'm surprised that our meowssion is going so smoothly so far." Arle remarked in the general direction of Viridi, her divine commander and personal companion. Carbuncle had run off somewhere, unable to stand the boredome of guard duty for even one moment. Perhaps he would show back up whenever the fighting started. "I'm surrrrre we've got this in the bag. ...But how long do you think it'll take to notice us?" Arle would go on to ask, turning her gaze upon the road before them. She was keeping an eye out for obstacles or approaching potential enemies so that she could warn the others.

The Egg Pawns continued to push the incredibly heavy and cumbersome machine forward as the other two stood by and watched. It soon got a proper traction onto the road, the cannon just barely being able to fit in the streets itself. The slowness of the craft wasn’t really so prominent until one of the two egg bots had ceased their motion and looked to be grasping at his waist side. “Oh my cogs! By the pit, I think I scraped a gear!” the metallic minion cried out as though it pulled a muscle.

The other robot continued to push the cart no different than it had before, but its head twisted around 180 degrees in order to look at its pushing partner. “Unit 432 reassume duty. Objective has greater importance than self-preservation” the machine very coldly replied.

“For the smelter’s sake, you have no idea how much pushing that thing will destroy your superstructure. I might have to replace every gear in my end-effectors” the strangely expressive robot complained as it rolled its shoulder and went back to work with the other unit. “I don’t see them doing anything, we gotta do all the work around here?” the machine continued as it nodded its head over at the duo of peculiarly young looking ladies.

The fire dragon seemed to be fairly impatient and rather unimpressed with Koops’ approach to his assigned mission. To be fair, it was probably a really bad idea to put the slacker Koopa in charge of scouting, but it wasn’t exactly Bowser’s decision, it was more so his general’s, who seemed to have more faith in the turtle than anyone really should.

As the creature bolted forward in an attempt to return to the frontlines of the war, Koops’ face began to panic a bit. He really didn’t want to be stuck on guard duty alone, especially with the possibility of assassins being around to pick off the slackers. In accordance to this, the creature began to hustle a bit more in order to keep up with the Charizard’s flight speed. “Whoa, bro! Wait up we’re supposed to be…” Koops’ face scrunched, uncertain of what exactly they should be looking out for. He stopped in place and turned around, scratching the top of his head.

His reptilian eyes picked up on a giant barrel of a gun headed their direction, once again confusing him. They were supposed to be the back of the pack, right? “Uh, yo coal breath, you were at that meeting right? Did Bowser say anything about bringing a giant cannon?” the Koopa asked as he stood there in awe of the giant mechanism in the distance. “Like, I know it’s about fifty meters away and all, but it still looks pretty big, doesn’t it?”

Charizard sighed, turning around and expecting disappointment, he was fooled in that department at least. His mouth dropped at the giant gun, that looked positively amazing! Still, Bowser hadn't mentioned it, it was dangerous!

He waved for the Koopa to run, hide, or at least do something other than stand there before he jumped up to the top of a building, wrapping his wings around himself like some sort of shield.

He clamped down on the fire in his chest, and made sure to cover the flames on his tail, I'd he was going to have any chance of demolishing this thing, he needed a clear shot.

"I think that answers your question. No real surprise though. It is kind of hard to miss," Viridi stated as Arle gave out the fact that they were discovered by a Koopa.

She looked in their direction and noticed the Charizard trying to get a height advantage.... He was not exactly that stealthy given how large and heavy he was and how much he did not naturally blend in. Viridi did not even need to try to see him get up there.

"Arle, handle the Koopa. I will deal with the Charizard. Lightning Chariot!" Viridi ordered. A streak of blue lightning came quickly and Viridi gave a jump before landing on the chariot that was as fast as light. Viridi approached the flying lizard before swinging her fist in an uppercut fashion. This would cause a small shake under the Charizard before a tree would suddenly grow out of the building and attempt to strike him from below.

Arle grinned at Koops in response to Viridi's order. "Nyaao problem~! This should be a cinch." Arle replied, promptly underestimating the koopa. She began to approach the koopa, ignoring Charizard for now. Surely the goddess of nature would have no trouble with the flaming dragon monster. The cat-mage began to weave a circle of minor conjuration in the air, it's intricate symbols condensing down into a ball of magic that moved to float at Arle's side. "Diacute!" Arle announced as she cast her spell, putting herself between Koops and the cannon and stopping. She would hold out one of her paws and extend it's claws, gesturing challenging to Koops by gesturing for him to come closer with one of her ... hand-paw-toes. She kind of missed having regular hands, sometimes.

The battle was rather quick to commence as the two protectors of the cannon dispersed in order to engage the two sole figures that seemed to be opposing the transport of the massive weapon. Unit 432 subtly peeked over the base platform’s edge in order to spot what was going on in the fray. The chatty bot spun its head over to its run of the mill partner. “So, they’re supposed to protect this thing and us, right?”

“Affirmative.”

“Okay, what happens if there’s a third guy? They seem to be in a dueling stance right now… Someone could sneak up behind us any time now and they’d be too busy over there, am I right?” the machine questioned whilst scratching its head for some reason.

“They know what they’re doing. Unit 432 is thinking illogically. Cease communication and put all power into pushing.”

The expressive robot decidedly shrugged at that point and went back to work, the giant doom cannon getting a couple inches closer to the battlefield. So close, yet so far.

Koops was a bit unsure about the whole situation. His partner didn’t seem all that capable of communicating his thoughts, so he wasn’t one hundred percent certain whether or not that cannon was considered a threat. Though, nobody could say that the giant fire lizard didn’t try. The beast attempted to shoo the Koopa away from the battlefield, but the turtle decided against it since there wasn’t anything directly threatening him yet. Sure there was a massive gun pointed at him, but if it was going to shoot at him it would have already done it by now, right? Besides, it was so far away...

Cue random girl in a cat suit teleporting in front of Koops and suggestively batting her paw as though she was looking for a fight. He supposed that made sense, he was on a battlefield after all. The reptile whipped his head in a furious manner and wiped his beak nose with the back of his tiny turtle hand. “Whoa whoa dude, you might wanna check yourself before you wreck yourself” the Koopa stated while chuckling a bit at his own line. “I mean, if you insist, but I’m warning you ahead of time, I’m a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu. It’s kind of a big deal” he continued as he buffed his nails against his free flowing shirt.

In a manner of a couple seconds the creature began to tense his muscles and charge himself up until he leapt at his pseudo-feline opponent feet first in the form of a jump kick in which he named the “Rising Serpent Drop Kick!”, only being known as that because it was what he shouted as he performed the move and not because it resembled the motions of a serpent (nor was it a drop kick for that matter).

He snarled as he was pushed back, tumbling head over heels before clawing his way into a stop. Wood huh? Perfect! He grinned as he reared up, and roared!

Viridi swiftly moved out of the way as the Lightning Chariot gave a fast turn. That flamethrower had terrible aim and her Chariot was too quick. Viridi pulled out her Simulating Cog and looked at it. This would give her the power of the last boss she beat... Which was that cloud guy she fought with Palutena and Pit... "Your breath is pretty hot. However, let's see how you handle some toxic air!" Viridi commented. A cloud of poisonous gas she would materialize around the Charizard from the power of that boss to damage and poison the Charizard if it landed.

Arle, filled with the agility enhancing effects of her superbell, managed to deftly sidestep the koopa's so-called dropkick. She then turned upon him. "I'm nyao dude, dude." Arle retorted, making fun of the koopa's choice of words. "And I'm nyaot some White Belt Arley Cat you can kick around either! In fact; let me put my foot down!" Arle would go on to remark. The mage would strike a lunging pose, lifting her knee high into the air before slamming it down into the ground. A shockwave shot out from the point of impact, racing across the ground towards Koops in an attempt to violently knock him off his feet. One would be left to wonder how a little mage girl like Arle could have possibly struck the ground with that much force, a question that would remain unanswered because her catsuit was currently hiding it from sight.

Immediately after Arle was finished she stepped forward, moving to pursue the koopa. She would hover over him, attempting to intimidate him with her admittedly lackluster size. "Nyand between you and me, I'm a meowster chef!" Arle remarked, unsheathing her claws in a threatening display. "I love curry in all it's forms, but I've nyever gotten a chance to make turtle curry..." the mage went on in a rather low, suggestive tone, displaying her most devilish grin for Koops. "It would be a shame if my main ingredient were to just... disappear." the cat mage would then finish, seeming to rather unsubtly try to convince Koops that he didn't want to be here. After all, he didn't want to be made into a fine curry dish did he?

The airborne turtle sailed directly by his enemy, his countenance shifting from a stoic grin to a bug eyed expression as the realization began to set in. His landing was about as gentle as one would expect after performing a reckless jump kick as he did. He tumbled for a bit until he eventually wound up flat on his back, his soft shell spinning him around the ground in a slowly manner. The reptile began to recover from his totally bogus landing, only putting haste into his actions after he heard the girl spout something back at him. During that time she began to perform some sort of move, but he wasn’t entirely sure if it was an attack because she didn’t yell out the name of it yet.

In his befuddled moments, Koops just sort of tilted his head in confusion. She looked as though she was doing yoga poses. Was she trying to impress him with her skills of stretching? Well, Koops could do her one better! He leapt into the air and began doing mid-air somersaults, unknowingly avoiding the shockwave that the girl had summoned. He stuck the landing this time around though, waving his hands in the air as though he had an audience to impress. “Weak sauce, bra. Your yoga skills mean nothing” the turtle stated as he was prepping himself by jogging on the spot and loosening his joints.

One would question how a pasty thin person in a cat suit, who was also making cat puns mind you, could be seen as intimidating whatsoever, but apparently Arle made it work. Somehow. There was something about the way she was approaching him that made his skin crawl slightly, so much so that he began to back away a bit. It wasn’t so much that he thought she could overpower him, it was just the thought of her seeing him as a meal that made him a bit uncomfortable due to some deep rooted and possibly PTSD related issues. “Whoa whoa, it’s not that serious, bra. I don’t even know how you could eat me, I think I’d turn into a trophy before that happens. I’m still not 100% certain how that works” he stated as he began to recoil from the battle.

The earth began to rumble around the streets, a feeling as though something was burrowing underneath the duo. Suddenly, a gigantic pink coloured snake erupted from the ground that Koops used to be standing on. “BAAAAAAABE! the koopa shouted in excitement as he attempted to hug the head of Queen Hisstocrat. It didn’t exactly work considering the relevant stumpy nature of his arms compared to her colossal cranium. She continued to rise from the pavement though, her body quickly dwarfing the buildings around them.

“Puny child, I break you” the general grumbled as her gigantic eyes fell up the girl rocking the cat’s pyjamas. “I break you, then feed you to children” she corrected herself as two smaller snakes erupted from the ground and leered at their meal. The duo quickly reared their fangs and attempted to snatch a quick taste of the cat girl.

“Babe, don’t forget about the other one!” Koops announced as he slapped the top of Queen Hisstocrat’s noggin. It wasn’t enough to get her attention, but the sound of battle and the crackling of thunder from behind her was enough to draw her attention in.

The snake squinted at the two warriors in the distance, not really knowing which of the two was supposed to be her ‘bodyguard.’ “Crush them both, any who does not survive is not fit to guard body!” the snake hissed as she swayed her slippery body in a way that somehow summoned a collection of meteors from the sky that would then pummel the duo as their fight continued to wage on. Unfortunately for Charizard, they were indeed made of rock and as any good Pokemon Trainer would know, keeping rocks away from Charizard is a necessity if it was to survive. Unfortunately, there were no rapid spinners around to save the poor pseudo-dragon and he was very quickly buried underneath the stones of doom. Would Viridi be destined to the same fate!?

The crew continued to cautiously cater to the cart, but the rumbling earth caught them off guard from their transporting task. The non-expressive bot wasn’t all that fazed, in fact it continued its duty until the rocking began to off balance the machine. As the snake queen revealed herself so did a smaller servant of hers, though she wasn’t in the same place as her master. Instead, the minion revealed herself behind the hauling duo.

Without hesitation, the machines ceased their prime directive and pulled out their comically oversized guns and began to fire back at the creature that was threatening to cease their mission. “BANG BANG BANG BANG!” Unit 432 shouted on queue with his pellet-like bullets.

Viridi looked over to Arle after a moment and noticed that there was a hissing noise... And a giant snake has popped out of the ground and began attacking her violently with her minions. That was not all she had to worry about however as meteors were coming down to meet her and destroy her with the Charizard. She summoned the bright blue bubbledshield of the Lightning Chariot to fight back the Meteors and bounce them off while she gained ground.

... She needed to help Arle but the robots were being attacked too... Well, she only had one plan at the moment to help. "Cragalanche!" Viridi called out and formed a more rocky and gem themed outfit to help her in this following plan. Viridi let off a quaking roar to get the attention of the enemies near them by making her the most intimidating figure here. "Keep Moving!" Viridi tried to get all focus on her so the robots and Arle were safe and her armor could handle it.

Arle looked about in alarm as the world began to shake. She'd only been trying to scare the koopa off, but now something enormous was spooking her with its presence! To her shock, an enormous snake revealed itself form the earth to confront her! The cat ears on Arle's catsuit seemed to flatten in response to the snake's threats, her stomach dropping with regards to the threat of being fed to the monster's children in particular. One could Arle's disposition do a rapid 180 into unadulterated fear, the somewhat short girl recoiling slightly as the two smaller snakes emerged and lunged at her.

Perhaps it was because Arle's feet were rooted by fear, or perhaps it was because she was quickly spiraling into a panic attack, but she was unable to dodge either attack. If the rumbling earth hadn't already drawn Viridi's attention, the shrill and panicked squalling of Arle freaking the hell out as two (relatively) giant snakes dug their fangs into her flesh probably would.

Oddly enough, the catsuit comrade tasted distinctly of curry powder. Apparently, she had a habit of getting the stuff all over herself whenever she cooked. She probably also tasted like tears, because oops. The moment Arle was able to free her wounded body and badly torn catsuit from the snakes grasp however, she quickly leaped back in an attempt to distant herself from her attackers. The trembling girl was still in full panic mode, and the first thing she did was pucker her lips and emit a loud whistle. It was a call for aid from an unknown ally, as it certainly wasn't for Viridi.

A moment passed before a fawn brown blur shot past and seemed to take Arle with it. If one turned their gaze to follow the speeding blur they'd not find their original character Brown the Hedgehog, as he was no doubt busy showing Sonic how it was done, but a giant (relatively) flying squirrel of all things with Arle on it's back.

The mage wrapped her thighs around the creature to secure herself, her trusty mount spiriting her away from her traumas. She grasped at a bite wound on her abdomen with one arm, directing the squirrel to circle back around with the other as she took a moment to regain something resembling composure. As much as she was distraught over what just happened, she knew she couldn't run away. Viridi was depending on her, and that meant this was now a deathmatch. The flying squirrel leapt a couple of dozen yards into the air above the battlefield, spreading it's limbs and gliding through the air with grace. Unlike Arle, it was feeling great!

The mage cast her gaze down at the snake queen with resentment in her heart, but as she glided over the battlefield she came to notice something slightly more pressing. There was another snake attacking their workers? She supposed she'd have to put off her plans of vengeance ... for now. She pointed down at the associate attacking the robots and stammered out a fearsome command--fearsome if one knew what it heralded, anyway.

"Th-Thunder!"

At Arle's command, a bolt of lightning ripped through the air towards the flanking snake. Phosphora would be pleased.
