Hm... That wall looks breakable... Well, it's worth a shot. I don't see much else. Witch took out a Pumpkin Bomb in her hand and tossed it up and down. "Okay, here's the plan. I will destroy that will and we retreat. Don't look back and just keep going until we find an exit. Ready? Let's go!" Witch ended with a giggle. She tossed the Pumpkin Bomb up before batting it with her broom at the wall she indicated. The explosion was undoubtedly strong enough to blast through it. She would then proceed to make a break for it, if they followed her lead was up to them.

Pit ... hurts his hand against a solid rock wall. It turned out that looks could be quite deceiving, apparently. Also probably shouldn't use your... fist. Fists weren't very effective against walls. Witch, however, had much better luck and the wall they'd entered through collapsed. Juli almost immediately called for his comrades to retreat, however, several of the crusaders were struck as they retreated. It turned out that not even retreating was a safe strategy. Yet, all five crusaders managed to pull free of their choke point and rush back with the others.

The broken wall gave way to a long corridor. They'd have to retrace their steps out of the corridor before they could process any further. There was just one problem with that...

The infected horde was already upon them. Pretty much on the heels of the crusaders the moment they turned tail, the horde spilled into the room and began surrounding the group immediately. If they didn't get out quickly, they might not even leave the room before they perished.

((Witch! Pit! Roll Dexterity to escape the room before the infected get you! The threshold for success is 14+ and the price of failure is 30% damage and a lack of progress being made. Additionally, roll attacks to keep the infected off of the crusaders as they try and escape. The crusaders are aiding you in keeping the infected back, but they can't do it alone.))

All the Centurions looked toward Pit awaiting any editions to his orders.
Without so much as a beat, Pit shrugged and nodded.

"Sounds good to me! Okay boys stand back!”
Pit agreed to let Witch try a Pumpkin Bomb instead.
He instructed the Centurions to back away from the wall and make way for Witch’s Pumpkin Bomb.

"On your marks…”
Pit steadied them.
Witch tossed the Pumpkin Bomb at the wall, blasting a hole in it just like she said before disappearing into it.


"Go! Everybody In! Move! Move! Move! Come On!”
Pit swooped into the hole, signalling his troops to follow him in.

They barely got into the hall before being intercepted by the infected horde yet again.


"Boys! Arrowhead Formation!”
Pit ordered his soldiers.
The Centurions began to fly in a narrow V shape with Pit at the tip, and everyone else relatively safely behind them.

From his place at the tip, Pit showered the oncoming horde with arrows in an attempt to clear a path.

Witch quickly jumped onto her broom and flew forward towards the hole she made. She began flying through the hole at pretty great speed but she was going to avoid going too fast. After all, there was some crusaders she may as well give a hand. Maybe they will give her some reward for helping them escape. Holy knights probably had some pretty great treasures.

"You infected guys are pretty annoying and persistent, aren't you? I think you should really slow down a bit. Fortunately, I have just the spell to make sure of that. Let's try this again. Black Hole! Black Hole! Black Hole!" She created a series of magical vortexes in the horde to draw them together and hopefully stop them from persuing them.

The crusaders seemed to have difficulty keeping up with Pit and Witch, on the other hand, with not a single one of them managing to escape the room before Infected Swarmed them. The crusaders fought valiantly, managing to tear their way through the assaulting infected. However, they sustained several serious wounds in the process. It was clear that death was the only result of attempting to fight the horde, but at least nobody had fallen this time around. As the infected forced their way through even Witch's black holes with raw power, it would likely become clear that the duo's efforts may be better spent on trying to assist their wounded crusaders' movement than attempting to hold the ever invincible horde back. Try as they might, they were on a very short time limit and there was no end in sight.

Meanwhile, the infected close in on Pit and his centurions, unfazed by their own injured as they trampled them in a rush to get to the angel. Some of the infected were brandishing weapons, others claws. Several throwing axes were whipped through the air, followed by some of the infected themselves as they viciously lunged for Pit and his centurions.

It turns out no matter how sharp of shooters our heroes were, the Infected were too numerous to be affected.
They continued their relentless assault on Pit and Witch.
Thinking fast, Pit cast his pair of Guardian Orbitars out in front of him, also tilted in a V formation like a book, to shield himself and his soldiers.

((Guardian Orbitars: 25% - 40% = -15%))

However the force of the horde beating against them as too great, and the Orbitars were shattered.
Pit who due to his own and the Orbitars’ orientation received the brunt of the blow that broke the shields.

“Gah!”
Pit wailed at the recoil damage.


“Are you okay captain?”
Assisticus was quick to ask.


“Ugh. I’m fine just keep…”
Pit reassured with a grunt, soon to realize his wings getting warmer.


“…Oh no…Oh no No NO! No I’m not okay!”
“What’s wrong captain?”


“My power of flight is running out!”
“All of this happened in under 5 minutes?”

“I know right?”

“Anyway boys, listen up!
I’m gonna need two you to carry me from here on out!”
“Aye Aye Captain!”

This wasn’t exactly easy at all to do, considering they were in the middle of an assault by the Infected.
But surely enough, as if this emergency manoeuvre was rehearsed in a drill,
By connecting their adornments to Pit’s belt, two Centurions formed a harness to carry Pit by.

((Pit will soon be carried by Assisticus and Iuvio.
When Pit’s Power of Flight ceases to be, his dodge rolls will then be the average between their dexterity rolls.))

“Nice job fellas.”
Pit commended, still gliding by the dwindling power of flight, but prepared for their support once it’s depleted.
With that weight off his mind, Pit finally realized the Heavenly Crusaders were nowhere to be seen.


“Hey were did the Crusader guys go?”
The centurions looked behind them, then at each other, then back at Pit.


“We can’t just leave without them!
Come on we're going back for them!”
“But Captain! What about-?”
“She’d tell us to help the Heavenly Crusaders anyway!
They were the mission in the first place!
Turn back! That’s an order!”

Doing a vertical U turn, Pit and his centurions raced back to the struggling Crusaders’ side

"Perfect. they are ignoring my trapping spell. Looks like we are going to have to help them the old fashioned way... Speaking of which, could you try a little harder to stay ahead?" Witch commented as if that was an easy solution. She was not really enjoying that she has to keep them alive but maybe this will help her graduate faster. Besides, they could have something that would make this worth it.

"I guess I will have to help you then. Ohohohoho~. Let's give one of you a little head start," Witch commented as she kept ahead. She swooped around Emilia to knock the immediate threat away while offering a hand to pull her forward faster since she seemed one of the most injured and pulling her along would keep her out of immediate danger.

...Pit chooses to upperdash arm directly into the infected horde chasing him. H-He really just did that? Needless to say, his bravery was likely inspiring to everyone involved. Or rather, it would have been, if it didn't immediately transition into disaster. While that one infected dude totally got owned and went sailing across the room, the quickly enroaching horde immediately took advantage of Pit's lack of momentum and dog piled him! Claws and hands began to rake and tug at his body, threatening to throw the hero back into his trophied state just as quickly as he'd been back on the field.

Meanwhile, a terrified Emilia hugs Witch's waist as she is spirited away on her broom! "Miss, we're trying our best not to die!" she stammered out, confused by Witch's question. At least one crusader would be safe this time...

...but the situation in their wake was quite grim. The crusaders were unable to get much ground on the infected. It was as if their wounds and severe exhaustion were holding them back. Witch could try and help them, but could she really carry four more on her broom? Probably not, and even if she could they were quickly being dogpiled like Pit had. It seemed that the mission had unfortunately spiraled wildly out of control, with only Witch and her chosen crusader still being capable of escape.

As a bittersweet trophy, the sheer amount of people that had just fallen to the infected horde would slow their advance enough to provide the witch with time to escape with her now likely traumatized crusader.
