Metal Sonic looked on as the dog men he devided the numbers of began fleeing. He denied the urge of pursuit as they weren't worth anymore time. He gave a look over to the army that was near the castle. They looked like they were handling themselves at the moment... And taking on a horde that size was not a smart idea by himself he has to admit. Besides, there was another troublemaker and a bird to take care of...

Metal Sonic looked to Pit trying to take down the Lich by himself. The spellcaster seemed to be causing issues to the focus of his mission. On top of that, Pit seemed to not be handling himself too well... But he had to pause and scan that arm technique he pulled off...

He deleted the Dark Angel's weapon from his systems and shifted focus as he floated into a flying dash at the Lich. He jumped into a ball as he approached before launching himself at the spellcaster at full speed. He would attempt to either bounce off the Lich if he hit or the ground if he missed and then do a diving kick to damage him.

Metal Sonic was not done however as he made to land on his hand and knees. He would proceed to look up before his eyes seemed to rotate if watched closely. Suddenly the hand of Metal Sonic shifted into a replica of Pit's Upperdash Arm. The fake Sonic then rushed forward to deliver an Uppercut of his own in a similar fashion.

Palutena & Silver
Pit and Silver were successful only in distracting Garuda with small blows. The large bird hopped away from many of their attacks, fluttering her wings whilst she attempted to get some leverage on her shiny prey and gobble her up. Unluckily for Garuda, all of Palutena's jewelry was making her a tad difficult to palette and her time ran out amidst their struggles. A bright flash of explosive light rang out, scorching Garuda and causing her to withdraw slightly, the much stronger attack having startled her into dropping the goddess. Palutena warped backward, putting some distance between herself and the creature before letting loose a series of energy blasts at it.

Each shot landed true, infuriating the large bird. Garuda emitted an ear piercing shriek in response, towering over Palutena threatening. The goddess pulled back, watching Garuda carefully from behind her shield. However, Garuda had learned not to chew on gold and now eyed a slightly ...squishier target. The bird abruptly took off, rising into the air and circling the battlefield for a moment. Palutena watched it carefully as it came back around, only for it to shift directions away from her and swoop down at ...

Silver's Honchkrow!

It's large, cruel talons stretched out like little scythes as it fell, preparing to skewer the unfortunate pokemon if it hit.

Meanwhile, Pit went soaring past the lich as it casually shifted aside in response to his attack. The lich turned upon him and promptly began attempting to cast a dark spell on Pit, draining at his spirit in an attempt to subdue him.

Or rather, he would have if Metal Sonic hadn't come out of NOWHERE and ruined his day. The lich was struck with a series of attacks and brought down from the sky, vanishing underneath his pitiful rags. There seemed to be nothing left but the smelly patchwork rags, his bones having vanished into the void.

A misaimed Upper Dash Hook sent bit into a tumble. After being embarrassingly dragged across the floor by his momentum, Pit’s wings lifted him back off the ground once more. 

Pit regained his balance and dusted himself off in time to see Metal Sonic deck the Lich with…His own Upperdash Arm?

 
“What the? Aw come on! Shiny Sonic Out-Pitted Me too?"

 
“You're even worse than Kirby!”
Pit grunted annoyed at being upstaged by a machine. 

“I mean uh... thanks for the help?”
Pit sheepishly admitted.
“I hope this means I’m not cursed anymore.”

Beating the one Lich was one thing, there was still a bigger mission to be executed.
What about the Heavenly Crusaders the Lich was trying to freeze?

“You guys gotta find shelter to regroup!”
Pit called down to them.

Pit used his birds eye view of the ruined castle to scour for an otherwise unseen entry point.

Metal Sonic landed as he stopped the Lich from his annoying interference. Now they just had to get to those kni... Was that the sound of a large bird? Metal looked up in confusion as he spotted a war between allies and a large bird.... Well, he had no reason to get involved in that fight. His job was to help thos Valkeries.... Speaking of which....

Metal Sonic scanned the castle as Pit was salty. The robotic duplicate paid the angel no mind as he focused in. It lookss like there is a hidden entrance right there according to the structure. Pit might notice by the time he called to him, he was already dashing his way through the area to try and keep unseen. Metal Sonic apparently was not into this whole teamwork thing.

Palutena came to the startling realization that she was now alone, on a battlefield, facing down a powerful enemy. Silver was nowhere to be seen, and Garuda was eyeing her with malice. ...This... was probably a mistake.

Meanwhile, in the castle. Pit and Metal Sonic were able to gain entry. The sounds of a skirmish nearby were heard, guiding them towards the fighting knights. They'd have to find their own way into the knight's ranks though, and likely have to sneak past some infected to do so.

Pit yelled at the long past Metal Sonic, annoyed at his lone wolf attitude.
Realizing there's no point sincehe was going the right way anyway, Pit just shut up and followed.
He followed Metal Sonic's trail through the castle, the sounds of a skirmish growing nearer and nearer until... the Greater Infected Army.

Pit restrained a gasp upon seeing them.
He couldn't just flap his way past these guys, time for stealth mode.

While the Power of Flight was still activated, Pit stopped flapping his wings briefly.
He instead and held onto the walls and ceiling, slowly inching his way across inconspicuously like a friendly neighborhood web slinger.
Once past them, he descended to join the knights.

"Hello there. I'm Pit, captain of the Godess of Light, Lady Palutena's guard."
Pit introduced himself, reaching for a business card he forgot he didn't have.
"And I'm here to help."

Metal Sonic made his way swiftly towards the castle. He was about to head in when his sensors picked up enemies. He held himself against the wall and scoped the situation on his optics... These enemies seemed pretty easy to evade... Could be easier if he had his Neo Metal Sonic Upgrade but he shall not complain.

Metal Sonic's head turned on it's axis as Pit flew by... and climbed along the walls and ceiling... He doubted the effectiveness of that tactic. Still, he had to gain some ground since not keeping up was not an option. Metal Sonic swiftly jumped and spindashed from cover to cover on his way through to avoid detection. He was not as impatient as Sonic so he made sure to use the right opportunity.

Metal Sonic swiftly rolled in to join the knights. He did not give some name or title like Pit though. He just gave some robotic noises and nothing more. He was in combat mode so speaking was overrated.

Flawless victory! Both Pit and Metal Sonic managed to find a secondary entrance into the room the crusaders were trapped in in the form of a collapsed wall. It was difficult to scale, but well... They could both fly, so that was a non-issue. Now if only the infected were that clever. One of the crusaders recoiled slightly as they noticed movement out of the corner of their eye, but relaxed when they observed that the intruders did not have the signature purple aura indicative of an infection. The angel, specifically Juli, approached Pit in particular. He wasn't sure what to make of Metal Sonic, but Pit was clearly familiar to him in one key way. The other four crusaders were understandably too busy holding back the massive horde ruthlessly trying to force their way through the narrow doorway. Viola, the knight in pink with fairy esque wings, seemed to be at the helm of their efforts to hold the army off. Though she had a large shield and a lance to keep the infected at a distance, she appeared worn down by continued conflict.

"You look a little underdressed for this battlefield. I don't suppose there's more of you?" Juli remarked, glancing over his shoulder at his comrades for a moment. You never knew when their defenses might slip, forcing them to act quickly to prevent a spill in.

Pit quipped, looking down at his robes.
"A bit more armor would be nice, but it kinda weighs the wings down."

"Sorry there's just one of me."
Pit shrugged apologetically.

"But there are plenty more of my men where I came from!"
Pit snapped his finger with an idea.
"Oh Boys!~"
Pit whistled to the sky.

Before long at all, 5 centurions flew in from whence Pit and Metal Sonic came and lined up in an orderly before Pit.

A centurion saluted to Pit.

"Excellent timing boys. I told you those morning sprints would pay off."
Pit complimented on their punctuality.

"Now then, we're here to help the Holy Crusaders against the greater infected army."
Pit briefed, hovering back and forth as if pacing in front of them.
"I want you five to help them hold off this infected army and keep them from getting in by any means necessary!"
he ordered his troops firmly.

"Uh..."
"How do we do that?"
One centurion was confused enough to ask.

"With your mussles of course!"

"...Oh okay!"
"We can do that!"
"We dedicate our energy and resources in helping the Holy Crusaders and stopping the greater infected army from reaching their goal!" the centurions saluted in unison, understanding their mission.

"Excellent.
In the mean time I'll do my best to stop them from getting to you.
Now Move out!"
Pit dismissed them to their duties.

The centurions rushed to join the rest of the crusaders in holding off the army. (rolls bellow)

Pit flew over the greater infected army and fired arrows into their ranks from above.

Metal Sonic did not take well to the underdressed comment but now was not the time to fight. Besides, it was probably directed at the kid in a toga. He watched Pit summon some minions and they were quick to try and confront an army... Well, he did not exactly have his ranged weaponry to help. Though a thought occurred to him, there was a good number of heartless on the way in. Maybe that could use investigating.

"... Is there anyway to prevent  them from getting into this area?" Metal Sonic asked, looking for a way to prevent them being flanked. They were kind of able to do it very easily.

[Mari]

Amidst the noise of the vicious battle a cold wind passed by, carrying an uncomfortable relative silence on its breadth. Juli just sort of stared straight through Pit as he attempted to make a joke out of the situation. It appeared that this angel wasn't a fan of his choice of humor--at least not right now. " . . . Of course, what was I thinking?" Juli remarked rather flatly, a distinct lack of hope in his voice. He turned to acknowledge Metal Sonic. "You could stand there and guard it, but a better question would be how we're going to get out of here." Juli went on to explain.

As a demonstration, he gestured over to the oncoming horde. The infected continued to throw themselves at the crusaders, unable to make any headway but unable to be pushed back. The centurions had no better luck. There was simply a never-ending wave of infected bodies pushing past each other. When one fell in the sea of bodies, they were simply replaced in an instant.

"Stand your ground men! we’ll think of something!"
Pit ordered, sweating.


"Perhaps we can deploy the Juggernauts, sir?"
Assisticus suggested.


"The Juggernauts? Oh Yeah! That’s a great idea!”
Pit’s enthusiasm didn’t last longer than the time he took to think about it.


“No wait... If what you say is true about these guys, the Juggernauts aren’t going to change anything…"
Pit sighed disappointment.

Hearing Juli’s remark about getting out of there gave Pit another idea.

"Wait! Boys! I’ve got a better idea!”
Pit announced for their attention.
"Yes Captain?"
Assisticus awaited instruction.


"Tactical retreat! Boys!
Pick up the Heavenly Crusaders and fly them out of here!”
Pit instructed.

"You heard him boys!”
Assisticus shouted at the rest.

Each of the Holy Crusaders had a Centurion Strongarm offer a pair of arms to lift them with.

"You would think this castle would have some treasury. Finding this Flawless Diamond is going to be such a pain. Potions can be so picky..." Witch sighed as she was heading back out of the castle. She has been searching this place for a while but there has been no sign of a treasury so far. Maybe there is something she has not thought of yet... Where else would she be able to find one... And what was that noise?

"Did a war break out while I was busy? I must of been searching longer than I thought. Looks like a bunch of holy knights or something... Which means it looks like my way out is blocked," Witch noted as she approached the crusaders... Who looked like they were about to leave by flight... While it looked like Metal Sonic has ditched this place out of losing interest. Regardless, the newcomer let out a giggle as she noticed the 'flawless' escape plan.

"Oh hohoho!~ Howdy! You really don't think you are going to escape that way do you? You're indoors in case you have not noticed. They can easily reach you if I am not wrong. Besides, there was a Garuda in the area when I came in. If he is still around... Oh hohohohohoho!~ Well, I don't think these brutes are out flying him," Witch mocked rather harshly with a giggle thrown in for good measure. Still, she was still in the castle so she may as well help them out so she can get out too... For now.

"Now, how about we come up with a real way to get out of here? Hang on one second. Black Hole!" Witch stated as she cost her magic and attempted to make a Cosmic Vortex at the headlines to try and hold them off for a bit with the trapping spell.

"Well, they can't all be winners, can they? Regardless, I don't think holding them off will do much more anyway. Now, how about we actually try and find something?" Witch attempted to brush off that pathetic Black Hole Spell. She then looked around the room to try and find anything that could help them, especially her, from getting out of this castle.

...Huh. First, this thirteen-year-old boy was trying to get them killed flying over the horde in an enclosed space and now this thirteen-year-old girl was lecturing him on proper strategy. The crusader supposed the saying about girls maturing faster must be true. He made no comment on this, however, as the situation was too grave for that brand of humor. He instead listened carefully to hear what backup plans the duet of children could think up.

Witch! You discover that the wall over by where you entered is heavily damaged. Perhaps you could blow it up and retreat through there... The moment the crusaders fall back, however, you will be in the midst of a chase scene and will be fleeing for your life. Are you ready to make a run for it? Judging by the desperate yet focused look in Juli's eyes, he was ready to try about anything they suggested. After all, the only thing he had left to lose was his life, something that was already in great turmoil.

Pit complained as Metal Sonic straight up bailed on everyone.

Amidst the racket of the infected army, the sound of one more voice reached Pit’s ear.
It was a witched…named Witch, pointing out the obvious fact that they were indoors.


"Well duh! We know we’re inside!”
Pit retorted, annoyed in the witch’s lack of faith.
"We do?”

"Everybody here is a capable fighter.”
Pit gestured at his squad and the Heavenly Crusaders.
"We’re gonna Bust our way out of here!"


"Unless You’ve got a better idea.”


"Yeah!”
"What he said!”
The Centurions backed Pit up.

"A Garuda?”


"The Garuda’s still out there?
I figured Lady Palutena would’ve finished it off by now…
...This isn’t right.

"Boys! Something’s up!
Besides getting these Heavenly Crusaders out of here,
Lady Palutena might need our help right now too!
Once we get out of here, we gotta find her!”

Pit’s words and the Centurion’s resolve did little to convince Witch.
Pit mustered up the patience to watch and let her try to find a way out.
She attempted a hold off the army with a Black Hole. It failed.

Pit took a strategic look around the room to find the most bustable corner.

Pit called his troops to attention
"Through that weakened wall over there!
Full Fists Ahead!
For Lady Palutena!”
He commanded, pointing his Upperdash Arm at the damaged wall.


"Aye Aye Captain!”
The squad of Centurion saluted.
Each with a Heavenly Crusader in tow, The Centurions joined their captain in smashing a hole through the wall through which to escape.
