Viridi at this point was pretty much expecting a counterattack from the cloud monster at this point. She commanded the lightning chariot to easily move around the two shockwaves with dives and swoops. Palutena then finally joined in with them in fighting the monster. The Goddess even aided with a holy light that felt very refreshing after being poisoned and not feeling the best.

Still, she wanted to employ a last series of attacks before holding off. Viridi took the Cracker Launcher and fired two more fireworks until the Cracker Launcher made a click. Now that it was empty, she threw the Fireworks launcher at the Darkness.

"Well, that was all my ammo. I am going to rest now, Pit. Don't go getting too reckless. Do not want to go through all this effort to still have a broken Dark Pit," Viridi stated before jumping off the Lightning Chariot as it flew away from the battle. Of course, she figured it would still counter attack after that last series of shots so she prepared herself. She still had quite a bit of energy.

"I'm not so sure you'd want that." Palutena replied, shaking her head slowly. She had a good idea of exactly how powerful this monster was, and her instincts were telling her there was a very real chance Pit wouldn't survive a one on one with it. "This creature is powerful. We've been pummeling it with attack after attack and it's barely slowed down at all." she would go on to say. Of course, she hadn't even brought up one other very important fact yet.


"And besides, we're surrounded by danger. Where would we go~?" Palutena would add after a moment, teasing Pit a bit with her tone. Palutena raised her staff and discharged another couple of shots at the shadow beast, whom once again dispersed under the combined pressure the girls and Pit were putting on it. Palutena would raise her staff in response, scorching the unholy mutated grounds of the area with her divine light. It was necessary to keep the area from succumbing to the night again.

...Meanwhile, the shadow monster seemed to give Pit what he desired, focusing in on him. The smog would surround Pit in a moment's notice, attempting to smother him with the deadly smoke.

Pit couldn't resist to ask upon hearing Viridi mention Dark Pit.
When Pit became a ring Dark Pit all but ceased to exist, so what happens to him when Pit's a trophy?
Pit didn't had time to think about it as Viridi hopped off the Lightning Chariot and sent it away on auto-pilot.

“Bye Phos! Bye Lux! Say hi to Pitto for me!”
Pit called out, waving goodbye to the Lightnight Chariot, and the noble crystal horned steeds with whom he had fond memories of riding with.
Perhaps the only fond experience he had of that time.

“Oh and Craigalanche and Phosphera, oh, and Arlon too, if you see him!”
Pit rushed to add before they fled from sight for good.

“Why not, Lady Palutena?"
Pit shrugged to Palutena over his shoulder, naively underestimating the situation.
"It's how we always used to do it, isn't it?”
said Pit nostalgically, firing another arrow at the monster.

The smog surrounded Pit in a moment's notice, attempting to smother him with the deadly smoke.
If the monster had it's way, Pit would eat his proud words after choking on its smoke.
With meek but not weak flaps of his wings Pit attempted to fan away at the enclosing smog as well as push himself out of its way.

Turns out Pit's "chicken wings" were enough for him to run out of harms way. He pulled his scarf up over his nose like a mask, and armed himself with the Upperdash Arm.
He hooked and uppercutted the smog at close quarters.

Pit complained, annoyed at the redundancy.

"Last time I checked, Dark Pit was in some kind of coma. Had to replace him somewhere because I felt his consciousness fading. He might be waking up soon since you are resurrected. I would need to ask Arlon since he is at the Lunar Sanctum.... Speaking of..." Viridi explained as she focused her telepathy to get Arlon to tune in.

"Yes, Lady Viridi?"

"Do you have a lock on the area? I have something I want you to fire the lunar sanctum at a disturbance in the area," Viridi requested.

"I have prepared the laser just in case you called. Want me to fire now?"

"Okay, Pit, stand back! Arlon, fire!" Viridi ordered as a large blue light started to appear around the area of the cloud monster. Blue lights consisted around the area before a giant red laser fired down upon the cloud monster as she triggered her Lunar Sanctum Final Smash.

Palutena, in spite of Pit's protests, joined in on the insane barrage with the others, blasting off a couple of very well aimed autoreticle shots and once again driving back the enroaching darkness with her heavenly light.

The sheer ammount of force was incredible, and it wasn't entirely clear who did more damage--Pit and Palutena with their explosive magical power or VIridi with her orbital sky cannon. The shadow monster was completely obliterated, scattering his various parts to the winds. One might want to cover their eyes, as the sheer force of the impact would probably temporarily blind or send the group reeling if they weren't careful. Regardless, all was quiet... for a moment.

"...Looks like that took care of it!" Palutena remarked. She was a tad surprised herself, and even a little bit unsure, but the goddess was unable to forsee the oncoming attack.

(Roll Wisdom to notice the surprise attack. The threshold is 17. If Pit suceeds this roll, he may warn Viridi and she may skip her wisdom roll.)

The first and only warning the group would get was the sound of roaring wind coming onto the fragments of the shadow monster returned to the area. The blobs swirled about like a twister of fragmented toxic smog, rapidly striking anyone who was unaware of it's presence.

(If you failed the wisdom roll, you are hit 3 times and burned. If you suceeded, you may roll to dodge each of the 3 attacks with a dex threshold of 13. Each strike that hits you requires a constitution roll of 7+ to avoid being burned.)

Palutena cried out as the twister struck her repeatedly in rapid succession, clutching her staff for support. That seriously hurt! She recoiled from her burns as the shadow monster reformed before the group. This time, it took the form of a twister of dark smog descending from the clouds. It looked like a desperation attack if Palutena ever saw one."Nnn... Pit! Are you suuure you don't want any aid? It looks like the difficulty just got stepped up." Palutena would ask. It was unclear if she was making fun of Pit's judgement or not.

“So we're kind of like the Ice Climbers then?”
Pit pondered out loud, trying to make sense of it.

“Does that make me Popo?
Whatever happened to those two anyway? I haven't seen them since-”
Pit's musings were cut short, as a large blue light started appearing around the area.

Pit backed up, or rather just plain fled out of the way, running like a chicken.
The big red frickin lazer shot down from the frickin Lunar Sactum and hit the Shadow Monster in it's frickin head.
Pit shielded his eyes, but still had to let out a “Woah.” out of sheer awe.

Pit clucked confidently in his best Fox impression.

“...no...wait a minute...”
Pit's sensitive wings were tingling. Something wasn't right.
Things hadn't gotten back to normal yet.
The boss fight wasn't over.

“Viridi! Watch Out!”
Pit cried out urgently to warn her of the approaching second wind.
The tornado ambushed him and slashed at him like the inner blades of a blender.

Pit managed to nimbly dodge the attack like an alert sparrow, all of his experience in boss fights paid off that day. 

Luckily Pit kept his eye on his 6, and managed to warn the goddess Viridi in time,
Alas, as for his very own goddess...

“Lady Palutena!”
Pit cried out to her rushing to her side.
“A-are you okay?"

"See this is what I was talking about!
As the captain of your guard, Guarding you is a top priority to mine!
If I can't protect you here, then what good am I at my own job?”

He answered with a crack of desperate plea in his voice.

Looking up at the Shadow Monsters new tornado form, Pit realized Palutena had a very good point. 
This was the part when the boss comes back all Giga-like.
Double the damage, double the defense, 
You'd be Finished if you took it on in this phase if you didn't have support.

“...Though on second thought, some back up could always come in handy...”
Pit conceited sheepishly.

Viridi gave a smug smile as the monster seemed to fall to their might... But something did not seem entirely right to her. It seemed hard to believe that was really the end of the monster... And her thoughts were right as Pit warned her of the twister that was coming to try and burn them with it's acidic touch. Viridi quickly dodged part of it with a backstep but took some damage as she was unexpectedly hit. Her divine body was able to avoid getting burned however as she jumped forward to avoid more damage.

Viridi took out a Smart Bomb and prepared to strike the twister. She pointed her finger forward for Cragalanche to smash into the ground to try and bash the dark could. She then threw her Smart Bomb where she would think it would damage the darkness most. She then followed up with an uppercut to make a tree slam through the darkness.

"At least you can admit you need help. Let's just take down this thing so we can take these trophies and go!" Viridi stated as she felt the poison damage her further.

"Ugh... A little overcooked, but I'm not fine done yet~" Palutena replied as she recoiled from her burns. Viridi's Craglanche boulder was caught up in the intense winds and tossed aside, but her smart bomb and tree uppercut were able to pierce the twister, impacting its winds and causing it to become unstable as it struggled to maintain its form. Of course... Not everyone had had their chance to give their input, yet.


"I knew you'd come around. In that case, it's time to reveal my Super Goddess Clobberlaser!" Palutena remarked with pride, spreading her arms in an arc and showering the area with light. Past Palutena's back, an enormous projection of her body appeared in the sky, looking down upon the fractured twister of darkness. The massive projection casually swept away the clouds competing with her for air space, her scepter lighting up with an enormous amount of divine power. The ground would begin to tremble as a supermassive well of energy was created in the projection's staff, both the projection and the real thing's bodies glowing manifest power. After the moment of showing off had passed, the projection turned her staff towards the monster and fired her laser. The blast was extremely huge, to the point that it would be impossible to see what actually happened to the monster as it was hit. Did it even exist anymore? The enormous burst of light raced across the corrupted region before dissipating into the air, leaving nothing in its wake.

The projection vanished in short order and Palutena turned her head up.


"Well! ...That ought to do it." she would remark light-heartedly. She would go to check on Pit after a moment, glancing around at all the scattered trophies of fallen people laying about. "Good job, Pit. And for your next task--I want you to help me carry as many of these trophies as you can. We're getting out of here. Palutena would go on, turning her gaze up at Viridi and smirking. "Coming, Viridi?" she would go on to ask rhetorically, poking fun at the other.

Pit started, getting in front of Palutena, expecting her to cover him as he fired at the monster.
He immediately realized what he just said and turned around.

"-Wait the SGC?” hepanicked.
Pit looked up to witness the heavenly vision of Palutena projecting herself into the sky.

"It's so... She's so Beautiful!... I...I..."
Pit was at a loss of words as a tear of awe leaked from his eye.
As the ground began to tremble and Palutena's projection's staff began to charge, Pit realized he was standing dead center in Palutena's crosshairs.

"I...I Gotta Get Outta Here!!!"
Pit dashed out of the way as fast as he could.
Pit managed to get out of the way, he ducked down into the dirt and shielded his eyes from what he knew was a blinding light.

When the dust finally settled, he turned over to see what was left of the place.

Pit could only pant from the adrenaline.
Several blinks later, Pit's speech functionality came back online.

"I was almost a bucket meal of Kid Finished iCarus..."
Pit climbed up to his feet and out of his trans enough to hear Palutena's orders to him.

"Aye Aye Lady Palutena!"
He saluted. He wasted no time rounding up the trophies, but he had to take the time to get something off his chest.
"Lady Palutena, I...I...You...She...Both..."
Pit started with a blushing stutter.
"...I don't know what to say! Thank you both so much for saving me!"

"That was so Seraphic!"

"Viridi! You were all like 'Cragalanch Crusn!' 'Biooom Bwam!' 'Kablowewoweeowie!' 'ShorTreeken!'"
he geeked out imitating Viridi's Cragalance Boulder, Smart Bomb and Tree Uppercut.

"And then Lady Palutena! You were all like 'Haaaaaaaaaaaah~'"
Pit immitated an angelic choir voice as he acted out the motions of Palutena's Super Goddess Clobber Lazer.
"SSSKEEEEEEEYOSHIOOOOOOOOOOOOKABLAM!!! SHAZAMATYLAM!!! Nothing in sight but blinding light!"

"It was soooo God Tier! Major League Goddess play!"
Pit cheered, falling onto his back as if fainting.
"GG No Re!"

Pit gathered all the trophies lying around together.
He used a few spare sashes and belts that he kept where he kept the rest of his arsenal and cleverly wrapped them around on certain looped features of the trophies.
He hooked them up together so that he could carry several of them in each hand at once.

As Palutena activated Pit's flight once again, he felt so overjoyed to be back in action again, he couldn't help but break into song.

Viridi succeeded in doing some damage to the typhoon and wondered how much punishment this thing could take. She was about to make up a plan until the Goddess of Light was showing off. She guessed another Final Smash from the looks of it might make this battle end. She stood back and shielded her eyes as the light came down on the monster. Once the light was done, she looked around and the place finally seemed peaceful. "Good job, Palutena, looks like you really are useful for something," Viridi stated.

".... Yes, Pit, we get it. You are easily excited like a puppy... And what is with you and victory songs anyway? Makes it hard to take you seriously," Viridi mocked before looking at the trophies. She figured she better take a few with her as well. The last thing they need is more of those vile infected.

She picked up a few... Not as many as she could carry but enough to her. "I am coming because we happen to be heading in the same direction. Let's get going before anymore enemies can show up to delay the trip back," Viridi answered.

"I'm the Swiss Army Spork of goddeses, if I do say so myself~"

Palutena giggled at her own remark as she went to retrieve several trophies. With any luck, they would clear this area out of the survivors. Thankfully, when Viridi decided to contribute to the rescue the three were able to recover all of the trophies. Palutena would lift several using her halo and take a single, last trophy in her arms. She glanced around them for a moment. "Alright. Let's get out of here. I think I saw an Eggplant Wizard lurking around~!" Pautena remarked, her voice taking on a teasing tone as she turned her gaze upon PIt. Somehow, she didn't think Viridi would bring up the earlier incident, which left her free to gauge his reaction herself. Without further ado, Palutena would begin moving to flee the area back the way they'd came, guiding Pit along the way. Seeing as they had no reason to stay, any enemies they encountered now would be superficial. They could simply run away without consequences.
