It was one of those days when the off chance of running to the Sunshine stadium in the midst of a croud was enough to startle the population out of a dead stupor. This occasion was not one of those, as a young girl had been seen walking to the Sunshine stadium, her purple hair in its usual ponytail, Shantae was heading ther to test her skills and see see if she could hold her own in the arena.

Before she left to the arena, she sent a friendly koopa to deliver some messages to certain people.

The first letter was addressed to the princess of the mushroom kingdom and would find its way to her doorstep.

"I hear that you are capable of holding your own in a fight, so I request a friendly challenge to see if I can keep up with you. Sincerely; the half-genie hero."

The second was delivered to a certain toad named Vanish T with a most peculiar request:

"please send a person to ref this friendly spar who knows how the arena rules work. The half-genie hero"

Upon reaching the arena, Shantae decided to practice with her dancing skills as a form of keeping in shape while waiting for her opponent and the referee.

Princess Peach read over the letter and gave it some thought. Half ... genie hero? She wasn't so sure about this. Frankly, if this Shantae was such a hero why hadn't they rescued her yet? Surely they had had plenty of opportunities... ...Then again, with the universal compression who was she to say that this wasn't the half- genie's first time hearing about her? Peach supposed she owed a bit of leniency to this 'hero'. Perhaps they'd stand to prove themselves to her yet! Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to meet this 'hero' and learn a bit about them, even if did involve fighting. ...Now she just had to contact a referee.

Princess Peach would arrive at the arena, her hands politely folded in front of her. Observing Shantae's dancing skills, Peach would smile at the other and sway a bit in a rhythmic manner as if tempted to join in on the dancing. "I do admire the way you move, Miss!" she complimented light-heartedly, performing a curtsey. "My name is Peach, princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. May I know your name before we get started?" the princess went on to ask.

Vanish T stepped out of his house to notice a letter laying on the ground. He picked it up and decided it was only right to read it. "Hm? That is most peculiar. Someone wants me to send them a ref for a match in the Stadium. I suppose I can humor the writer," Vanish T said before tossing his sword up which turned into a scroll which he opened. "Let's see... Who would be a good person for this parole... Ah, that Hippo gentleman may do. He is quite a veteran when it comes to fighting. Despite his criminal history he seems he can do the job quite well. Alright, time to make a trip to the Police Station and then the Stadium," Vanish T figured out before reverting the scroll back into a sword and heading off.

Soon after the introductions of the two fighters, Vanish T walked through the gates of the Stadium. He was an odd Toad with a somewhat unique color scheme. He had brown and purple spotted mushroom for a cap, sunglasses, a black coat and a black bottom as well as black shoes. "Hello, fair genie and princess. I have brought a ref for your match," Vanish T said with a bow before vanishing as his namesake dictates.

Then loud steps sounded before the King of the Ring, King Hippo was pushed into the Stadium. He gave a mean look behind him before walking in reluctantly. He towered over the two ladies with his size and girth.



"Gwahahahaha! You two ladies I am supposed to ref?!" King Hippo bellowed as his tummy bounced with each laugh. "I think baking a pineapple cake is a more suitable contest... But I guess I got ta obey the wishes of that stupid shroom head. Okay, so here are the rules of the match! First of all, a REAL fighter relies on their own strength! So do NOT use items or outside assistance. Secondly, I want a clean fight! So no killing eachother in your catfight! The match will only last a short time so make sure ya show me what ya girls can do before I ring the bell!" King Hippo looked like he was about to say something else before his massive belly growled. "... Rule number 4, loser has to bake me a Pineapple Cake! Ya two got all that?" King Hippo explained.

"I am known as Shantae, it's a pleasure to meet you." shantae said as she stopped dancing and looked at peach the moment she entered the arena, and Shantae was astonished at how elegant she was, shantae was a little jealous, but didn't blame herself especially when she was a bellydancer and a cute half-monster girl that was friendly to those she likes and a veritable badass when dealing with her enemies.

When the referee entered the arena and let the rules be known, Shantae decided to humor the king of the ring. "I think that would be a request for a pineapple cake that I think would be very tasty, despite me not knowing how to make a cake since I never knew my mother, bad memories of the past and all. Either way, I accept the rules and am ret-2-go." the half-genie said getting into a battle stance.

Princess Peach would perform a curtsey for Shantae, her eyes glimmering with joy. She seemed to appreciate the other's response. "The pleasure is mine. I would be glad to help you bake that cake, Miss Shantae~" she replied. Frankly, baking a cake was not something she considered a punishment at all. Especially if she got to bake one with friends! "I could pass on my recipe, just like my mom did for me~" she continued, gently adjusting her gloves. It seemed wrong to her that Shantae didn't have a mother to bake cakes with. How terrible!

"That being said, I agree and am ready! Please let me know if I become too rough, Miss Shantae!" Peach stated, beginning to sway back and forth in a rhythmic manner, almost as if she intended to break out into dance the moment they began fighting.

King Hippo looked between Shantae and Peach as they talked about the Pineapple Cake. One could just see the drool coming off his massive chin. The King of the Ring lost focus as he daydreamed about that delicious cake... To think he would actually be getting one... Mmmmmm, Pineapple Cake...

... The audience started to mumble amongst themselves as Hippo seemed to not be moving due to the sheer power of the daydream status ailment. The fight seemed to be at a standstill until he said something. Fortunately someone threw a rock at the back of his head and snapped him out of it. Hippo looked back and forth with an angry look before looking to the waiting girls... Oh right...

"If you two are done with your girly talk, it is time for the man's sport!" King Hippo declared as well as placing the blame on Shantae and Peach. "DING DING!" King Hippo mocked the sound of a Boxing Match's Bell before running over to the Stadium wall and struggling to lift himself into the audience.

Shantae decided to kick things off with a strategy at the least, and the first thing she did was use a stat boosting wish.
WIS ROLL: 14-3=11{boosting her CON modifier by +1}

Followed by downing a bottle of monster milk to accompany the meager boost to her defense.
CHA ROLL: 16+5=21{almost perfect 20 but the buff is ready}

Shantae then struck with her signature hair whip attack.
STR ROLL: 13+2+2(monster milk)=17{just good enough to make a solid impression.}

Peach would learn forward, watching Shantae's actions with bemusement. Was that milk? Well she supposed the other certainly knew how to get ready...

The princess yelped as Shantae's hair struck her like a whip. Her cheeks turned red as a flash of pain raced through her. Oh dear. that wasn't fun at all! She sucked it up, however, and attempted to bowl Shantae over with a rushing attack. She ducked down low, spreading her arms out and spreading them, a burst of sparkley magic popping out to meet Shantae.

Peach would then attempt to follow up with this attack, assuming she was able to land it and knock Shantae down, by jumping into the air and pulling her legs out from under her, attempting to ground pound Shantae.
