It was a nice evening in Brightwing Lane, Paula had just came back from a few missions and she looked exhausted, she yawned as people walked passed her to go back to there apartment blocks for the night, Paula was about ready to depart for to, but not after she looked at the sky first, Paula got herself out of the bench and landed at the nearby patch of grass to look at the sky. "I love nights like these it almost takes you away from the dangers outside of LI and makes you forget the problems in this sphere." Paula thought to herself as she smiled...

Then she noticed something.

Paula saw a weird blue and orange square shaped object at a nearby tree, she sat up to see if she can it more closer, but groaned when she couldn't so she walked to the tree only to find she has to climb up it to see the object. "Well...I'm not going to climb that." Paula thought looking like she was about to leave, but she floated upwards instead towards it.



A small door was found at the edge of the tree branch, which made Paula curious on why such an object was found here. "Why is there a small door on this tree?" She thought to herself as she grabbed the door and inspected it. "Looks nice, maybe someone lost it?" Paula thought to herself again...However soon the tree branch quickly broke causing her to fall, below her was a Toad reading a book who quickly looked up to the falling girl and tiny door. "Yikes look out!" Paula called down to the toad...Who just stood there and screamed as Paula and the door landed on the ground.

"Not a scratch." Paula said to herself as she looked towards the Toad. "Are you ok Mr...Huh?" Paula looked as the Toad looked dizzy, but he was not getting up, probably because the door she found was on his forehead. Paula walked towards the Toad to check on him. "Are you ok?" Paula said trying to get the Toad's attention, but he was still not moving, Paula looked at the door on his forehead and tried to remove it.

When it opened...

The door glowed on Paula as she felt she was losing conscience. "Huh...What the!?" Paula said in confusion as her vision turned to white...When she awoke she felt herself falling down a green portal. "I don't like this!" Paula said out loud wondering where she was as her vision again turned to white.

"Not again..."

When she came to Paula was in a village with mushroom shaped huts. "That's strange, where am I...I was at Brightwing Lane a minute ago." Paula said as she called out. "Hello?" Paula said waiting for a response...When all the doors to the hut opened, Paula turned to see weirdly coloured toads coming out and greeting her. "Umm Excuse me." Paula said as the toads kept on greeting the girl, Paula took a few steps back and looked behind her to see if she could find a building to get away from all these toads.



Paula was surprised to see the Mushroom Kingdom was behind her. "What..But!?" Before she could say anything the toads behind her kept on coming closer to Paula, continuing to greet her, Paula just ran towards the castle as fast as she can as she made it to the entrance. "Why is this here...I thought it was abandoned at the ruins." Paula thought to herself as she looked at the glass plated image of Peach...Which quickly blew up and turned into one of Toad instead. "Ok...I guess I'm in that toads dream due to that door...I need to get out of here." Paula thought as she entered the castle in hopes of finding help...

Unfortunately this would be a bad choice for Paula...



When Paula entered the castle, she was met with a dark hallway that was oddly quiet...Shouldn't Peach, Mario or a few toads be around? Paula walked further down the halls quietly as she looked for any signs of life...Which she cant so far, however she soon saw something that caught her eye...



Statues of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi were lined up in front of a door, chanting was heard at the back of it. "This is getting weird...But maybe the answer of my escape out of this dream is through this door." Paula said as she pushed the four statues out of the way and opened the door.

"What the...Oh m--

"AHH!" Paula suddenly yelped awake back at Brightwing Lane as the door from the Toads forehead popped off of it and landed on Paulas lap, the toad soon woke up as Paula grabbed the door and ran off before he could say anything else. When she made it back to her apartment, Paula placed the door on her kitchen table and looked at it. "Oh...My gosh, I think that wasn't a dream, I went in that messed up Toad's mind...With this door I can go into any peoples minds...This can be useful!" Paula said as she got out a small chain from the nearby drawer and placed it around the door and then placed it on her neck as a sort of necklace.

"Well this is an interesting find...But I'll just use it when its necessary." Paula said to herself as she looked at the night sky...Thinking about what other sorts of minds people in the Life Sphere had.

"What an odd night."
