It was rather dark outside this night. The sky was a beautiful shade of dark, dark blue and the stands were of people waiting for tonight's fight. Though nighttime, the lights at the very top of the stadium illuminated the inside, making it nearly as a bright as day while still having the roof of the sky overheard. It was rather windy. Cold even. Tonight was the night of a battle. One of the fighters was none other than the violent, purple, grinning ball of darkness himself Gengar, who was rather eager to cause some conflict. He was walking through the entrance corridor of the arena, taking his sweet type as he heard people begin to cheer upon seeing him. Once out in the open, he suddenly phased into the ground disappearing from view before emerging on the arena, in a little purple puddle of shadows. Getting out of it, he opened his mouth wide as he began to flail his tongue about. "Bbblllllehehehe!" would be the sound his made as the crowd continued to cheer, all of them waiting for a battle.

"Let go of me you jerks..!" a feminine voice protested, almost immediately followed by the figure of none other than Princess Peach being ungratefully tossed into the arena onto her stomach. She landed with a huff, picking herself up and subtly fixing her dress in an indignant manner. As she looked about and took in her surroundings, Peach's eyes glimmered with surprise. This was no dungeon, nor a cage of any sort.

Before she could finish her train of thought a familiar umbrella was rudely tossed at her feet, the entrance through which she'd arrived closing behind her. Seeing Perry's distress at his cruel handling spurred Peach to quickly pick the umbrella up and hold him close. His facial expression indicated that he was more annoyed and frustrated than anything, but Peach felt an obligation to make sure it didn't escalate further. As her attention refocused on her surroundings, she found herself asking the obvious questions. Where was she, and for what purpose?

The cheering crowd, the lights, the wide open area, the unidentified person no doubt eyeing her up from the opposite end...

Realization flooded Peach's expression, which then translated into anger. The princess stormed out to meet Gengar.  "...What is the meaning of this??" she demanded.

As Gengar made his entrance and the princess was tossed in, it was time for the show to begin. As the princess stormed towards the Gengar, a hoop appeared on the ground in front of her. Out of the hoop rose a mischievious looking spirit known as Hoopa.



"Oh, do not get your blood boiling too hot. Which just thought you could use some fun time. I apologize for the 'rude' way of getting you to do it," The mischievious djinn stated but his laughter would suggest he was not being honest with his apology. "But since you're here, you might as well fight for a bit, right? There is no harm in that now is there? Who knows, if you win you might feel a little stronger for it, doubtful though cause you look pretty weak," Hoopa went on.

"Now it is time for me to set down the ground rules isn't it? You both have about five rounds of attacks to get in before I call this little match quits. Rule two, there will be NO killing. Understood? Finishing off your opponent is HIGHLY restricted. Thirdly, you may not use any items you may of collected, though you both look like your pockets are empty. No outside support as well, this is a test of your own potential. You two got all that? Because when you are done pondering I can start the fun!" Hoopa continued, not giving Peach time to object.

Gengar couldn't help but widen his already large grin, showing even more of his surprisingly straight and white teeth. His red eyes looked into Peach's as she stormed to him, not reacting at all to her little outburst. He did, however, break his gaze from her and frowned as a figure appeared before them, recognizing it as a pokemon but not sure of what kind. Judging by all the pink it was either a Fairy or Psychic type though, that's for sure. He listened to the short, floating creature before rolling his eyes and began floating to become leveled with the dijinn. At the asking of questions, he would suddenly lash out his tongue and lick the small creature's entire body before giggling stupidly, licking his own face before floating back a few feet to gain some distance from the duo, showing that he was ready.

Princess Peach listened carefully to Hoopa, decidedly unconsoled by his words. When he finished, she was quick to pipe up. "Do I even have a choice in all of this..?" she lamented rather rhetorically. Peach found herself quickly distracted by Gengar's... tongue. She raised her free hand to stifle a little gasp of shock at the ghastly display. Perry glanced back and forth betwixt the group before chiming in. "Don't worry Princess! We can take them. It's two against one!" Perry remarked cheekily, promptly sticking out his own tongue in response and blowing a raspberry at Gengar.

Peach glanced betwixt the two boys flaunting their tongues with a deadpan expression on her face. After Perry finished with his taunt she would emit a little sigh, shifting Perry over her shoulder. Her expression became flustered as something occurred to her. "I think I might actually prefer Bowser's scheming." she remarked, seemingly directed at Hoopa. She sounded bemused by her own feelings, a sentiment not lost on Perry. "Wait, what?" the umbrella asked, unsure about whether he'd heard that correctly. "I don't like fighting, but I guess we can put on a show if it helps us get out of here." Peach remarked, eyeing Gengar curiously.

As soon as Hoopa finished his required talk he was licked by the Gengar. A shudder was forced from the Hoopa at the grossness of the action before he returned to his usual grin. The ring djinn gave a mischievious laugh while he listened to Peach's talk with Perry. Even if some of the words were directed at themself. "Hehehe, two on one? Do not flatter yourself. I do not wish to help this Gengar in anyway. I simply thought it would be fun to see you two fight. No reason to pass up on such a great oppratunity I say!" The Hoopa explained with a laugh.

"Don't worry, you can go free right after the match. Much more fun than sitting in a cage all day if you ask me. Besides, where's the harm in a little duel between Princess and Specter, huh? Anyway, I think the crowd would like to see the show start, as would I!" Hoopa said before opening hoops under both Peach and Gengar to send them to opposite sides of the ring. "Now it is time for the duel to commence!" Hoppa declared before summoning a hoop and diving through it before the hoops disappeared.

Almost immediately when Hoopa disappeared, Gengar began his onslaught on the Princess. "Hyahahahahahahahhaah.... he would laugh as he simply stood there, not moving a single muscle. Simply just standing there with his devilsh grin and unblinking eyes as his shadow suddenly shot out and began racing across the ground, still flat as ever. It wasn't until that it got into melee range that it did some very....perculiar. It would suddenly shoot upward off the ground as a solid object, specifically, a pure black fist coated in a purplish-black aura.

Gengar would then quicky follow up with a Shadow Ball, personally formed and shot straight from his mouth, at the Princess in a attempt to further damage her.

Princess Peach's eyes began to drift as she noticed an odd movement coming towards her, however, she was reluctant to take her eyes off of Gengar until a shadow actually darted underneath her dress. This understandably perturbed her, causing her to attempt to shift away from... whatever it was creeping on her heels. What she was entirely unprepared for was a giant fist striking her as she tried to move, throwing her wildly off balance and into the air. A girlish scream escaped her lips.

Peach was quick to twist her body around, restoring some semblance of balance and composure as she fell. "Princess!" Perry blurted out, Peach managing to land on her feet. The regent of the mushroom kingdom snapped to attention, her eyes locking onto a rapidly approaching blob of darkness. ...And then, she closed them. The shadow ball seemed to all but consume Peach, yet at the last possible moment, she elegantly pirouetted her way aside leaving the blast to narrowly miss her. Peach emerged holding Perry over her shoulder, magical energy radiating up from the umbrella's top. The princess opened her eyes.

"...Peachy!~"

Princess Peach would gracefully dance her way forward, closing the distance between herself and Gengar before abruptly swinging Perry over her head. An umbrella shaped blast of magical energy would fire out at Gengar.

"Hello, Life Sphere! The famous singer and dancer Meloetta here to announce this match between the annoying Gengar and the elegant Princess Peach!~ But since my job is mostly singing and dancing and not commentating, I have the support of a fellow legend. Introduce yourself!"

"... Right... Well, looks like our contestants have started their match! How do you think that Gengar is so versatile with that shadow of his?"

"I believe it is called Umbrakinese."

"... Is that some kind of disease and do excellent dancers and musicians get it?"

"The answer to both those questions are... Zzzzzzzzzzz.... no. All it is," Jirachi yawned, "is him controlling his shadow through telepathic connections."

"Oh, well that sounds useful."

"He could also use it to hide undetected and," Jirachi yawned again, "stalk musicians."

"Um... Hahahaha, that is a funny one Jirachi. You really had me going."

"I wasn't joking," Jirachi corrected with a yawn.

"... What about that umbrella gun?"

"Umbrella what?"

"The one Peach just did!~"

"Oh, I must of took a long blink."

"... You missed that but not the shadows? I am starting to think you are faking this sleeping thing."

"Gengar behind you."

"Where?!"

"Made you look."

Gengar smiled a wicked smile as he saw the pink damsel be lift into the air from his strike, and continued smiling even though his second attack missed. He kept on observing the Maiden and her talking Umbrela as she continued to frolic and dance about the stadium, getting closer and closer to him as some aura appeared on the umbrela. Before he knew it, the woman had fired some umbrela magic at, at near point-blank range at that.

Gengar, knowing that hit from that distance could be potentially bad, quickly hopped into his own shadow. His own little circle of darkness as if it were water, dodging the energy blast. With that out of the way, he hoped back up and into the air. With a burp, Gengar's eyes began glowing as he began to hypnotically wave his arms in-front of Peach, trying to use Hypnosis on the ditz.

"Eww..." Peach remarked in response to Gengar's belching, her nose wrinkling and her expression twisting in frustration. The burp was a sufficient distraction, such that Peach felt her eyelids grow heavy and her steps unsteady as the hypnosis weighed down upon her mind. She would reach up and shield her delicately painted lips with the back of one hand, stifling a yawn. ...Yet, something deep inside of her was nagging her. Peach! There's a time and place for everything, but not now! ...Huh?

"Peach, c'mon! You can't faint now!" Perry called out, noticing his guardian swaying ever so gently underneath him. Peach snapped back to attention, Perry's worrying helping her to overcome the drowsiness. She had to be fully awake--for his sake. "I-I'm fine! I'm not sure what came over me." Peach reassured her companion, shifting to go back on the offensive.



Princess Peach lunged at Gengar, ducking down and stretching her arms forward. She would attempt to push into Gengar, spreading her arms betwixt which a magical rainbow would form. The rather innocent, cute looking rainbow would burn quite painfully if it actually touched him.

Peach would quickly pull herself up, only for an itching sensation in her petite nose to draw her focus. The princess's irritated nostrils were sending her a message she could not ignore. Peach abruptly turned her back on Gengar, lifting an arm to stifle the sneeze that was to come. "Aaah-cha!" Peach blurted out, the force of her sneeze launching her violently back into Gengar butt-first. The attack was perhaps surprising to everyone but the princess herself, whom had been more than ready to take advantage of this seeming inconvenience by turning it into a surprise attack. Nothing would make this clearer than the explosion of love magic in the form of hearts should she hit him.
