It was extremely chilly in the mountains known as Icicle Peak as it normally is but it felt extremely so today. Either that or it was just Shaymin's extreme distaste of the cold speaking. She probably would not of come here if it wasn't for the fact that it was extremely important. Shaymin needed to learn more about her strange reaction to The Contamination and the sage is probably the only way she will ever find out.

Unfortunately the day Shaymin came here it just had to be a slight snowstorm. At least it was not blizzard levels but it made the cold that much more annoying. Did not help the coldest part was probably where the flower would be as well as in a location with other plants, mostly trees. Given it was more an iceberg than a mountain, trees were kind of rare. However Shaymin could sense plant life on the other side of a cave going through the mountain. Probably some hidden grove where plants could actually grow in this unforgiving cold. Shaymin waddled through the snow towards the cave that Shaymin noted on the board so they had a place to meet. Shaymin wished she could just fly to the cave in Sky Forme but Sky Forme was even more sensitive to the cold than she was. While Shaymin could still maintain the will to fight while frozen in land forme, she would always be forced to revert when frozen in Sky Forme due to the higher sensitivity.

Shaymin walked into the cave and huddled beside the frozen cave wall and shaked the snow off her back. Did not help Shaymin was only 8 inches tall in Land Forme so she was pretty much forced to tunnel through the snow. She hoped her allies would arrive soon and the inside of the cave was at least a bit warmer. There was a seemingly nice girl that wanted to help which was comforting and there was a dragon of some kind Shaymin has never seen. She thought a dragon with wings would dislike the cold as much as her Sky Forme but she was apparently willing to come to a cold environment so she can't be that bad. Either that or dragons are entirely different from Dragon Type Pokemon. Shaymin was not entirely sure how to tell the difference.

Paula decided to help Shaymin with his troubles of controlling himself when in starvia infested places, even if it meant going to the coldest places in LI to fix her problem, she did not mind as she went to another cold place back in her own world so she got use to wintry environments. Today she went with an yellow shirt and an orange strap on skirt, but since she was going to a mountain she wore a white snow coat for the situation before flying off to Icicle Peak.

"Almost there, i hope Shaymin and Cynder found the cave..And i hope i find it." Paula thought to herself as she continued her path to the cave where she would meet up with her friend Cynder and the pocket monster in need of being escorted to the flower that will begin her journey to the Sage she needs to see. Eventually she was hit by the snowstorm forcing Paula to land on the snowy grounds of Icicle peak, when she landed however everything was barely seeable, she held her hands together and tried to find the cave.

"Come on Paula you can find the cave..I know you can." Paula thought to herself as she kept walking around, closing her eyes hoping she could hear anyone..

Anyone nearby...

Then she heard it..A feminine voice shivering, Paula opened her eyes and followed the source of the shivering, eventually coming towards a cave, due to the snowstorm and the fact she saw tons of caves while flying towards the peak, Paula did not know if that the was cave she was supposed to meet Shaymin and Cynder, never the less she went in to take a small break and figure out what to do next.

As soon as she entered the cave, Paula sat to the nearest wall and took a deep breath after walking thorough a harsh environment, after doing that she soon noticed Shaymin and sighed in relief knowing that the cave she went in was the right one. "Hi..Oh whoops i spoke telepathically." Paula said accidently sending Shaymin a telepathic message, not knowing that the Pocket monster could also do the same same, but Paula spoke again, this time for real.

"Hello..You must Shaymin, i'm Paula Polestar, one of your partners for the mission..So this seems to be the cave where supposed to walk through for the Frostvine..This dark cave that will now be lit up with an old Teddy Bear i have..Sorry Mr Fuzzcakes..But its for the greater good." Paula said as she took out her Teddy Bear Mr Fuzzcakes and proceeded to set his head on fire, turning him into a torch, she watched as Fuzzcakes cheerful smile slowly melted into a sad..And eventually goopy state.

"I never knew Teddy Bears could be made into useful torches, anyway stay near the torch if you want to be warm..You look very cold..I hope your flower will be ok with your current state."

Icicle Peak. The shivering mountains as far from the Life Sphere as you could go without getting lost in the sickness beyond on this planet. It wasn't exactly anywhere near the top of the list for destinations she'd like to visit; but then again, she didn't think there was anywhere on this planet that was. The dragoness was tired of sitting in the growing tension building to the gang wars. None of the tyrants poking around seemed right to her but there was little she could do about it alone. They could beat each other to a pulp if they wanted and while they did she might as well be doing some good, however unfortunate it was that the only thing available sent her to the frosty wastes.

Now she was trudging through thick snow hardened by the constant melt and freeze of the rapid weather circling the peak. There was no telling how deep it was. Cynder was only thankful that she wouldn't find out thanks to the hardened shell under her feet and the wide spread of her weight thanks to being a four-legged beast. She was able to keep the winds from whipping her by the convenient use of her wind element to counteract, but it was about as effective as a decent coat and required more focus. Sadly the chilly air was still a little much for her to want to take to the sky despite air travel being the much faster mode of transport.

Eventually the dark maw of their meeting point came into view, speckled with light from a small torch. The prospect of a warm fire hastened her approach until finally she was in the company of her teammates. With one last shiver Cynder tucked her wings into her body tighter, tail wrapping around loosely as if that would help contain her own body heat. At least the walls of the cave meant she could relax.

Shaymin remained shivering from the cold due to her lack of used to it and grass types generally disliking it except for certain ones until she saw a girl enter the cave. That looked like it must of been Paula because what other girl would be out here in the middle of a snowstorm? It seems the girl had some traits similar to psychic types since she greeted in telepathy by mistake. Shaymin unfortunately could only speak Pokemon and had to rely on telepathy in order to speak with species other than Pokemon effectively.

Shaymin was kind of shocked the girl would set fire to her teddy bear so quickly but passed it off since the heat that it brought was more than enough to wipe doubt. She felt she was on too low a level to really enjoy it though but with this small amount of heat she may be able to fix that. Shaymin gave off a jade glow before transforming into his more canine like Sky Forme. Shaymim then quickly flew above Paula's head and transformed back into Land Forme to try and land on it. Shaymin enjoyed head riding a little too much but it was closer to the heat source.

"Hi, you must be Paula. I can only really talk to you through telepathy so I hope you don't mind. I also hope you don't mind me staying up here closer to heat," Shaymin stated. Shaymin then turned around to notice a dragon come in that hopefully must be Cynder. "I do not understand how a flower can grow here even if it is rare. Anyway, now that we are all here, I sense a source of plant life through this cave somewhere. I believe the Frost Vine would be there if it is anywhere," Shaymin said before turning around.

The Teddy Torch did help light up the cave and had some shining effect on the ice around the cave. There was a tunnel moving deeper into the cave and all that could be heard was the harsh whipping of the wind outside.

Paula was surprised when Shaymin revealed that she can also used telepathy to talk to others, but is still cursed to talk like a pocket monster outside of it. "I'm sorry that telepathy is the only thing you can properly talk to people without saying your name all the time..Anyway Cynder should be here any minute now..I hope." Paula said sounding worried for her dragon friend, but she had faith in her since she could probably find the dim light of the bear nearby.


Paula quickly turned back to see Shaymin turn into his Sky Forme, she looked amazed when the pocket monster had the ability to transform into something more..Outgoing then her previous form which looked like the kind of person that would stay inside a cozy house, however the only thing Shaymin did while in this Forme was to fly on Paulas head before resting herself on top of her, Paula giggled when Shaymin did that but did not voice any objections..Soon after the last partner for the mission appeared..Which was of course Cynder.


"Hey Cynder, great that everyone managed to find the right cave." Paula said as Cynder talked about the cave being a bad place to find the Frostvine. "Well at least its not somewhere outside..It would make it difficult as it is, anyway lets begin going to the depths of this cave." Paula said as she started to walk further into the cave with the remains of Mr Fuzzcakes head as the source of light. "Uhh..Long story with my bear if you wanted to ask, i lost a lot more before." Paula said to Cynder as she kept walking.

"How are you doing Shaymin, warm yet? Just warn us if were close to the Frostvine..Hopefully with the snowstorm outside not much enemy's could make it into the cave, so we might be fine for now."

There was the silver lining, at least it isn't outside in the storm. It was true: that would be worse. At least in here they could be lightly warmed by the teddy fire and were safe from the whipping winds and nips of frost. As they began moving deeper into the cave Paula began making small talk, which was nice compared to the crackles of fire and clicking of her talons being drowned by the howling wind, but never a thing Cynder was very good at. Surprisingly you don't develop many social skills when enslaved by a dark overlord and then being hated by everyone else once that was all done with.
"A fate better than freezing to death," was the only comment she could think to make regarding the burning teddy. Though she supposed for the teddy bear it wouldn't have cared about the cold since it could indefinitely sit and wait for someone to bring it home and thaw it out. Melting away was something harder to recover from when you were stuffed.

As they gained distance from the mouth of the cave she didn't feel as if the atmosphere improved much, the dragoness shivering mildly. While she was trying to spy through the darkness outside the field of light from the torch Cynder found her eyes returning to stare at Paula's new 'hat' as it were. The pokemon was a lot smaller than she had imagined and it brought an amused smile to her face.

Shaymin felt good from the heat of the makeshift torch and felt as if they could stay in Sky Forme longer. However it may be best to save Sky Forme until it was really needed since most creatures here could probably make use of an easily freezable opponent. "Yes, the torch is really helping, thanks. The location should not be that hard to miss but I will make sure to say something," Shaymin said as her ride moved forward with the dragon by their side.

The trio would soon come across a split in the cave with two different paths. Shaymin's head turned from one way to another trying to figure it out but it was not working. While Shaymin could sense the general direction of plant life, tracking it to the exact point was not a feat she was fully capable of. "I can not tell which way the plant life is. Maybe both paths lead to it but I can not tell. I think we should-" Shaymin was cut off however by two sounds echoing from each entrance deeper into the cave.

One sound was like extremely heavy footsteps. It was hard to tell but there was probably something big is through the left tunnel. The right tunnel seemed to have some strange kind of humming sound. It was a tad bit creepy but could it really be worst than the big things to the left? All that is really clear from the humming is that it is distinctly feminine.

As the three..Well two since Shaymin was resting on Paula's head continued to walk further down the cave, they finally reach there first problem..Two paths, one might bring the group to the Frostvine..The other? Who knows, the left side had the sounds of heavy footsteps, the other a hum that sounds like a girl is making, since Shaymins sensing powers is currently weak he dose not know which path will take the trio to the Frostvine..It seems they will have to rely on a lucky guess.

"So now the problem is which path we should take?" Paula said as she looked at each side, she is worried that enemy's might be after the Frostvine for reasons unknown but mostly likely greediness..But on the other hand there could be someone else in the cave..A girl maybe, but she wanted to make sure that whoever was making those big footsteps was not a problem, if there going to face something like a giant then they should handle it as quickly as possible as he/she might cause a cave in.

"I'm going to vote for the left path, we should check out those footsteps in case its something gigantic that will get in our way later if we didn't check it out..Cynder, Shaymin, which path do you think we'll take?..I don't mind much if you two chose right since the hum could be something useful we can use to find the Frostvine...If its a thing that is."

Cynder took an extra moment to focus on the faint noises in either direction. "Left is my vote." Her statement was direct and simple. Paula had a fair point and the dark dragon agreed. The last thing they needed was some yeti raging up behind them unprepared. Plus dealing with large terrifying enemies was something she was used to dealing with. That humming could be anything. Possibly a more dangerous trap than the obvious giant beast stomping around.

Before Shaymin could get any complete thoughts transmitted out to the rest of the party Cynder started down the left path with a bit of a hop. Despite the chill of the air if they were going to be expected to fight or flee it'd be best if she wasn't huddled into herself shivering. Some stretching and extra movement should get her blood flowing and hopefully stave off the desire to curl up into a ball. The dragoness didn't go too far though, waiting for Paula and their handy light and heat source to follow.

Shaymin was not sure how she felt about going down the left path. While yes, it could be better, it could also be a trap. There might simply be an illusion to persuade them in that direction. Shaymin did not voice this though since it was possible Shaymin could be wrong. Her psychic powers were not strong enough to detect illusions as much as she would want to right now. Plus Cynder was already moving so it was pointless to fight it.

In the room on the end of the left tunnel there surprisingly seemed to be nothing once it was fully illuminated. In fact the noise seemed to stop completely upon entering. The only thing that was in the room seemed to be a big icicle on the ground with two tiny icicles next to it. The silence was broken however as with a snap a wall of ice formed behind them and another blocking the other exit to the room which also had a Glaceon. The Glaceon had a pouch of some kind on his left front leg and a purple scarf wrapped around his neck. The Glaceon gave a smirk before speaking, "It would seem the plan actually worked. I have to admit, I had my doubts but it worked. Unfortunately for you I have a need for that Frostvine that I can not let you three have it. I am feeling quite fair so I'll tell you what. If you live long enough, the other tunnel has a way that will also lead to the flower. Now, I must be going, but don't worry, I am sure the occupants will be waking up real soon," The Glaceon said before jumping back and forming cold into his mouth before focusing it into a beam and hitting the roof to cause it to cave in the tunnel he went through to prevent being followed.

That did not seem to be his only reason for shaking the cave though. The icicles continued shaking before too stood up and the other flipped over to reveal a giant Pokemon.

"Well then, left it is." Paula said as she followed Cynder to the left path of the cave, although she felt Shaymin being uneasy about taking the path, Paula tried to reassure the pocket monster that things will turn out just fine. "Dont worry Shaymin once we find out about the footsteps we can go back on track to finding the Frostvine, heck the Frostvine might even be on this path." Paula said as the group arrived..To find nothing but three icicles, one large and two small, but there was another path up ahead that the trio can continue to take..However Paula felt uneasy about the current area they were in.


"I don't like the fact that there's three oddly sized icicle in a room with not much ice..Something weird is going on." Paula said, she was soon right when the tunnel the three came in was suddenly blocked by an ice wall, Paula quickly turned and gasped. "A trap!?" She said before turning back to witness a Glaceon who revealed that he wanted the Frostvine himself for..Unknown reasons. "I knew an enemy was going to appear and stop us, but your not getting the Frostvine, this pocket monster needs it more to help him survive this planet...Now your probably going to make a dramatic escape seeing as how your near the exit to this area." Paula said to the Glaceon, however he quickly left and caused a dramatic exit by causing a cave in to the other tunnel, worse Paulas suspicions of the icicles were right and they quickly came to life.

"Crud, whelp, time to try and melt this wall." Paula said as she placed her torch on the ground and fired at the wall using her PSI fire, if it did work then the trio can quickly take the other tunnel that could possibly get them to the Frostvine before the Glaceon could.

The fire quickly bounced off the wall and headed towards one of the advancing Bergmites. "Well i guess that didn't work, looks like were stuck here until we can defeat these pocket monsters, since if we try and bring down the wall again they might get in the way, i suggest we try and distract the bigger icicle monster and then take down the smaller ones." Paula said as she planned to fire another shot of PSI fire this time towards the feet of the Avalugg for a chance it could get distracted from the fire Paula caused for a few minutes so the trio can take down the two Bergmites. Paula summoned a small ball of fire before placing it into her pan before jumping up and firing it like a tennis ball towards the Avaluggs feet.

"Lets hope my new found tennis skills work..Said skill i just started learning now."

It appeared this venture had now become a race and unfortunately their opponent was going to have a head start on them. It was unfortunate Paula's fire didn't just melt away the ice blocking the exit. But at least the stunning ricochet meant that any fire probably wasn't going to work, which made her feel a bit better about not being a fire breathing dragon. It still wasn't going to be enough to hide how useless most of her abilities still were. Guess it would be left up to the good ol' iron bits fastened onto her tail and wings. Admittedly that wasn't a bad fall back.

The dragoness aimed to fly at one of the Bergmites after Paula's fire ball. Even if it did look like it wasn't the greatest shot hopefully it would provide some distraction. Cynder bounded in and made for a simple tail swipe followed by a thrust of the two iron claws on her wings before hopping back away from the icy creature.

Shaymin was not entirely sure what the Glaceon wanted but his words confirmed that Shaymin was right in thinking this was a trap. Shaymin watched as the Eveelution ran away and awakened some Ice types to fight in his stead. Shaymin of course turned around with Paula, as she was on her head and watched as the fireball bounced off. "It would be no use trying to destroy the ice now. I can still feel the cold concentrated in that area. A Glaceon uses their ice powers by their ability to control their body temperature as well as the temperature around them. The Glaceon is still concentrating some of their power to keep the air behind us frozen. Until they get out of range there is not much we can do but fight," Shaymin explained.

The Avalugg was extremely slow, almost like moving was a huge chore for it. As the Fireball came at him he could never move out of the way so he simply took the hit. It may be super effective but can it really melt his ice berg physique?

The answer was simply no way could the fire melt his heavy and stern body. The fireball just evaporated into smoke as it hit him and he did not even flinch. The clossal Pokemon then came charging at Paula and Shaymin in a Skull Bash attack.

The Bergmite really hated sharp metals and was terrified as the dragon tried to poke them. They ran around in circles hoping the dragon could not hit them.

The Bergmite managed to duck under the claw swipe but unluckily got smacked right in the face and flew away in slow mo by the tail. This left the poor critter in a bit of a daze. The other one was fine however and ran at Cynder and tried to skewer her very slightly with it's tip.

The might of the Avalugg actually gave Shaymin an idea to counter the mighty beast. It was big and powerful but probably not very bright. Whether or not Paula got hit by Skull Bash, Shaymin generated a pink heart and shot it at the Avalugg hoping it would mess with the titan's mind.

The heart hit the titan and it's eyes changed into heart shapes and it seemed to act a little goofy after the attack, it's minds being no match for Shaymin's charm. "Hey, Avalugg, you would not mind breaking that ice wall for me, would you?" Shaymin asked. The Avalugg shook it's head approvingly, though very slowly before facing the wall. The Avalugg backed up for a bit before charging into the ice wall

The titan got it's head stuck in the wall and began pulling for a few seconds before trying to break it with a swish of it's head.

The Avalugg managed to shatter the ice wall completely before falling down from the effort it shown. The Bergmites look confused for a few seconds at why their leader were following another's orders. "Thank you, Avalugg. Let's get out of here before he snaps out of it and the other catch on," Shaymin insisted.

"Hmm..Looks like we are." Paula said as she watched the Avalugg get hit by the fireball, however he only flinched like the attack was nothing. "Looks like my weak fire attack did not work." Paula said as she charged another fire blast again, this time at the second Bergmite to give Cynder some support.

"Something tells me were going to mostly use fire based attacks in this mission."

After shooting a powerful fire blast at the second Bergmite, Paula turned towards the Avalugg..Who was suddenly charging towards her and Shaymin who was still on Paulas head. "Woah, i thought that thing was slow!" Paula said as she tried to dodge the oncoming charge.

"Eitherway its time for this giant iceberg to learn not to charge towards a girl who can fly."

Paula quickly flew towards the roof of the area, her and Shaymin were almost hit by the Avalugg, but Paula managed to fly past him on time. "That was close..Hopefully it will take awhile for him to turn towards us..Unless you know of a plan that could stop him in its place Shaymin?" Paula said to Shaymin who used a pink heart to hypnotise the Avalugg to do Shaymins bidding temporarily. "Nice power." Paula said to Shaymin as the two watched the Avalugg successfully bring down the wall, now they can leave.

"Yeah..But hang on a second." Paula said as she flew down to where Cynder was, she was now just floating above the dragoness and the Bergmites. "Hey Cynder, mind if i help do this?" Paula said as she took out her pan and flew towards one of the bergmites, "Batter up..Or in this case, Pan up!" Paula said happily as she whacked the second bergmite towards the first in a chance to knock them over so they wont go after the trio.

"But in a case, you can use batter on a pan."

The little bergmite's jab was easily avoided since Cynder's plan was to back away immediately after her strike anyway. Her wings flared and generated a light burst of wind to aid in her retreat all the while considering how to proceed. The other two were focused in on the big guy, fire and bright pink things flying through the air in the dragoness' peripheral vision, which was more than okay with her. These little guys were hard enough to hit. Then Shaymin began pleading with the Avalugg. Confused, Cynder dared to turn her head round for a moment to find the large iceburg pokemon looking a bit in a trance. Her heart fluttered with excitement as the sturdy beast charged against the icewall; and then a second time.

Her face was swept up in a wide grin as an opening for escape was given to them. "Well then," she muttered to herself and returned focus onto the Bergmite near her. Paula's voice called out moments before the psychic girl attempted to bat the other little berg into the one near Cynder, but seeing that didn't turn out so well the dark dragon decided to give the pokemon before her a parting shot then flee into the opened tunnel. She hopped back toward her dance partner and made to claw the poor confused thing. Cynder jumped at it, made a few strikes as she landed, then pushed off of it to get an accelerated glide toward the exit.

As Cynder flew by the dazed Avalugg she attempted to cover their retreat by releasing a stream of her black fire behind her at the tunnel entrance. She slowed to a stop, giving Paula time to get out of the way, then let the corrupted flame go. It would only give them a few seconds of course, the shadowed fire hanging in the air blocking vision save for patches she neglected to coat, but it was something. And if they tried to pass through before it had dispersed they'd find themselves a little short of breath.
