Julia
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Alignment: True Neutral
Motto: "People call me a devilish trickster, but I'm surrounded by people who willingly deceive themselves."
Allies/Friends: Her stolen pokemon
Enemies/Rivals: Pokemon Trainers
Backstory: Julia is, or was an upstanding part-time explorer back in her own world. She felt a deep love for her fellows that she expressed by helping them with their problems. She enjoyed entertaining people with tricks and jokes to see the smiles on their faces. However, while she enjoyed a great deal of satisfaction from the world around her, she found that this made fighting wild Pokemon weigh heavily on her heart. It was hard for her to understand and accept that these people were simply too savage to have any value for her words, and that she could simply not talk to most of them.
As a result, Julia began to seek internal meaning in her life so that she would be less dependent on the approval of others. She took an interest in philosophy, but since books aren't so common in a world full of people who don't have hands, that was a lot harder than it would be in our world as it required her to seek out other like-minded people and talk to them personally. This gave her an excuse to travel, and to be fair she learned a lot while she was out there traveling the world. Though her quest for meaning was ultimately unsuccessful, she did train her mind quite a bit.
However, her knack for traveling and curiosity got her into trouble after she managed to come across an ultra wormhole that pulled her out of her world. She was first deposited in Ultra Ruin, a fascinating archaeological trip for her turned to horror when she discovered Guzzlord. She fought hard to avoid becoming food and managed to escape eventually after finding another wormhole.
This wormhole deposited her in the Ultra Desert. She wandered the desert for a while before she was caught collecting turquoise crystals off the ground and beaten viciously by the local Pheromosa for her theft of 'their' jewels. Completely overwhelmed, she surrendered to them to save her life and was their servant for a while, up until she had the opportunity to dive into another Ultra Wormhole and escape.
The third wormhole dropped her into the Ultra Deep Sea. Here she once again found herself fighting for her life against the local Nihilego. However, since she had a type advantage instead of a disadvantage this time she was able to overpower them. But not without one of them managing to inject her with its neurotoxins. She was able to get it off of her before it took full control, but the damage was already done. She could only flee as the toxins began to set in. By the time she found another wormhole, she was already experiencing a deadly hysteria.
Appearance:
History On Li: The last wormhole took her to Li. She actually emerged directly in the life sphere but in her frenzied state, she was immediately hostile to her surroundings and basically began attacking anyone who got too close. That understandably attracted attention and eventually she got put down in the streets and taken to the jail.
Weakened by the lingering toxins in her body, she spent quite some time in jail because not even she could explain what had come over her, and she was honestly pretty sore about the beatdown she got. But what offended her most was the offer to let her go if she submitted herself to a trainer. Someone to watch over her and be there to control her if things went wrong again. It was at that moment she realized she was not among equals here.
She reluctantly accepted, as it was the only choice she was given other than staying in jail until they were satisfied she wouldn't go into a violent hysterical fit again. However she didn't bond well with her trainer. She resented being treated like an animal and found the fact that her talking surprised him disgusting. Worse yet, she had none of the agency she wanted. She couldn't go anywhere without him, and was made to accompany him on whatever mundane things he wanted, even if she had no interest in it.
It just wouldn't do. Knowing she couldn't get rid of him without violating the terms of her parole, she instead worked him over until he was willing to let her go places and do things. She started by feigning incompetence in battle so that he wouldn't miss her when she stopped fighting by his side. And then once she was demoted to pet status, she got real cozy with him and started offering to do errands and chores he didn't want to do. Eventually, she got what she wanted, a level of freedom where he didn't much care where she was so long as she stopped by to placate him with gifts and chores done.
Using that freedom, she began plotting. With her smooth tongue and newly found insight, she tracked down and ambushed various pokemon criminals. Even in her toxin weakened state, she was able to threaten humans as long as she got the drop on them and they didn't have a chance to send out a bunch of pokemon and outnumber her. And criminals weren't going to go and report her to the police, so... Finally, she got the things she wanted. Pokeballs, specifically luxury balls, medicine, and a way to overcome the security of a pokeball: a snag machine.
She was now fully prepared to steal pokemon from trainers, a deed that made her heart heavy thinking about it, but she knew or at least believes that it's for the greater good. Her motive was to steal them, show them their true potential, and make them never want to go back to their trainer so that they'd accept freedom and she could release them. And so she did. She was able to quickly convert several pokemon by targeting incompetent, bad trainers. However when she started preying on better trainers she wound up catching pokemon who were harder to convert. She could convince them to fight for her, but convincing them not to go back to their trainers was harder, and so she wound up keeping them. At least for now.

Primary Attacks (3)
Night Slash [Dark]: Julia rushes past a target at extreme speeds, raking them with an outstretched claw. This attack threatens a critical hit on an 18+. 1 turn cooldown [DMG 10%+2x Dex Mod]
Flower Trick [Grass]: Julia conjures up an explosive bouquet near someone. The target has to roll wisdom to spot it before it explodes when it is conjured, and then dexterity to get away from it. Failing both rolls results in the attack's damage doubling. [DMG 10%+Cha Mod]
Leaf Storm [Grass]: Julia animates a bunch of leaves and other debris and launches them at a foe at razor speeds, cutting them up! Her charisma modifier decreases by 1 each time she uses this attack, and that stat modifier damage is reduced by 1 at the end of each turn she doesn't use Leaf Storm. [DMG 18%+2x Cha Mod]
Special Attacks (3)
Desperation [Dark]: For every 20 damage Julia accumulates, her dexterity and charisma stat raise by 1. If Julia's HP is between 0 and -100 on her turn, she gets to take a single action before succumbing to her injuries, after which this second part of her ability is disabled. However if she is healed, she regains the use of this ability.
Attract [Fairy]: Julia uses her charms to infatuate someone, either toward herself--afflicting the infatuation status, or putting them into a romantic daydream that acts like a love themed sleep status.
Tender Love and Care [Normal]: ...is not as effective as spray from magic healing medicine! I sure hope that stuff is non-habit forming. Requires both the user and the recipient to spend an action holding still or otherwise cooperating to work. Multiple users can be the recipient, however they each have to spend an action. When Julia or her pokemon are the recipient, she pays the extra actions herself. This also causes them to take a -2 to their next dodge roll. If the only recipient refuses to spend an action doing that, the move fails but it's cooldown/dodge penalty aren't activated. Heals 2d12+4x Charisma Mod. 3 turn cooldown.

Primary Attacks (3)
Talon Style [Normal]: Talon fights with a very focused and vicious claw style, earning her name, but also attempting to wrestle the foe into submission. This is one of the only forms of attacks Talon has that does not function differently in a grapple. [DMG: 8-18%]
Flare Blitz [Fire]: Talon ignites her body in flame before firing itself into the foe, if it's in the air, it will slam it's body down onto the foe at an angle, causing a fiery explosion but at the cost of self damage. This attack does 7% recoil to herself but lowers next physical dodge roll by 2 and has a 30% chance to burn. If the foe is grappled, it also has a 50% chance to inflict Mortal Wounded as Talon viciously claws the foe as a dirty move. [DMG: 30%]
Seismic Toss [Fighting]: Talon pounces to grapple the foe before keeping the momentum going to keep them rolling before jumping off and then jumping up and slamming down with immense force. Normally has a 50% chance to paralyze. However, if the foe is already grappled, it also has a 50% chance to inflict Sickness as Talon bites them with a toxic fang followup.Takes 2 actions, 3 turn cooldown. [DMG: 28%]
Special Attacks (3)
Blazing Heart [Fire]: The more this Pokemon takes damage, the brighter her flame sac of a bell will glow brighter and brighter, giving it a boost to it's power and attacks. For every 30% damage Talon takes, she can deal 1% more damage and gains a +1 to STR and DEX.
Kitty Krimes [Dark]: Julia and Talon do the most terrifying ÒwÓ you've ever seen in unison before pouncing their victim and giving them huggy wuggies. And by huggy wuggies I mean clinging to them while raking them with claws and teeth. They both make a roll, and the opponent has to dodge both to successfully dodge the attack. Julia and Talon both suffer a -2 penalty to dodging the first attack aimed at them next turn due to their reckless offense. 3 turn cooldown. [DMG 28%]
Tender Love and Care [Normal]: ...is not as effective as spray from magic healing medicine! I sure hope that stuff is non-habit forming. Primary Attacks (3)
Triple Kick/Double Kick/Rolling Kick [Fighting]: Delicate yet powerful blows are aimed with devastating speed into an opponent. Triple Kick is a light comboable. Double kick is similar to a light combo that does 2 attacks instead of 3. Rolling kick is a single kick. Each is defined simply by a longer wind-up and heavier follow-through than their predecessor. [DMG 8%/12/18%]
High Jump Kick [Fighting]: Queen lurches forward with intense speed and attempts to drive a sharp heel into her opponent at high speeds. Every time she uses this attack, she makes a second dexterity roll to try and prevent herself from crashing if she misses. If her attack misses and her dexterity roll is less than 14, she crashes and takes 10 damage. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 32%]
Stomp [Normal]: Queen attempts to trample a foe underfoot. She doesn't have a lot of weight to throw around, but her feet are almost like high heels and boy does it hurt to get stomped on by those. It's a little hard to trample someone who's standing upright though, so this move suffers a -2 accuracy penalty. Queen can make a charisma roll alongside this to cause her choice of the fear or charm status by toning up the oppressive behavior. [DMG 14%]
Special Attacks (3)
Ultra Pheremones [Bug]: Powerful chemicals in the air around Queen can alter the mental states of those who get too close and aren't careful. Anyone who spends part of their turn within 10 feet of Pheramosa, even briefly enough to attack her, has to make a single intelligence save against a charisma roll she makes or become charmed toward her. She does 5% extra damage against charmed targets.
Perverse Attraction [Fairy]: Julia and Queen team up to play with the hearts of their opponents using a mixture of the move attract and Queen's pheremones to really mess with their heads by flooding them with intrusive thoughts and feelings. It's a bit overkill though and normally backfires, resulting in sensory overload and terror, represented by the fear status and a special variation of the poison status called sensory overload that behaves the same but uses intelligence to determine its duration. 3 turn cooldown
This also causes them to take a -2 to the first attack aimed at them while they're being healed. Primary Attacks (3)
Air Cutter [Flying]: Kitty flutters his wings, shockwaves launching from their tips at the climax of each flap. They home in on an enemy slightly, giving them a +1 to their accuracy. 1 turn cooldown [DMG 8-18%]
Silver Wind [Bug]: Kitty flutters his wings, casting a silvery powder along the wind at the target. The dust stings on contact and is deeply unpleasant if breathed in. It has a 10% chance to afflict Kitty with a custom status that raises her stat modifiers by 1 for 3 turns. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 20%]
Infestation [Bug]: Kitty summons a swarm of venemous insects to attack the target! This causes a bug-themed version of the flower status. It causes 1d3 stacks of the status, but the target can reduce the stacks caused by 1 if their dodge roll is within 4 of his attack roll. 1 turn cooldown [DMG 7%]
Special Attacks (3)
Compound Eyes [Bug]: For every 20% damage Kitty takes, her dexterity and intelligence stat increases by 1 as the pain forces her to actually focus.
Lethal Attraction [Fairy]: Julia uses attract on Kitty, not with the goal of harming or hindering Kitty, but to use her girlish charms to motivate him to focus! For 3 turns, her compound eyes works as if she had taken the maximum amount of damage her max HP would allow without KOing her, the secondary effect chance of her attacks increase by 20%, her attacks deal +5% damage, and she adds +1 to the amount of stacks her infestation attack afflicts. [DMG %]

Primary Attacks (3)
Head Smash [Rock]: When one refers to using their head they don't usually mean literally. Rex, however, is smarter than the average dinosaur. With a head as hard as Rex's, he has no reason to fear recoil! Needless to say, he isn't actually wrong. This reckless attack suffers a -2 to its accuracy roll. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 25% + Con Mod]
Poison Fang [Poison]: A venemous bite that sends the victim into shock, making life hell for them. This attack costs 2 actions. It afflicts the poison and paralysis statuses, and every turn one of these statuses remains on the victim, they have a 25% chance of passing out at the end of their turn, becoming afflicted by the sleep status. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 16%]
Crunch [Dark]: Rex bites down on an enemy with crushing force. This attack costs 2 actions. 1 turn cooldown. It has a 30% chance of causing the mortal wound status and a 30% chance of causing Disabled (Dexterity) [DMG 25% + Str Mod]
Special Attacks (3)
Ancient Pride [Rock]: For every 30% Damage Rex accumulates, his intelligence and strength stat increases by 1 and his damage done increases by 1%
Grass Knot [Grass]: Julia summons large blades of grass in a foe's path that wrap around the offending limb if they stray too close, tying themselves into a knot and tripping the foe! The enemy's dodge rolls decrease by 2 for the remainder of the turn. 1 turn cooldown [DMG 10% +2% for every 50 pounds the target weighs (Max 30%)]

Primary Attacks (3)
Ember/Flame Burst [Fire]: Amber spits gouts of flame to singe a target. She can do this loose lipped so that multiple gouts of flame fire out in a cone shaped burst as a light comboable attack or purse her lips to condense it all into one denser gout of flame that bursts on contact with a solid surface. They both have a +1 accuracy, and Flame Burst has a 10% chance to cause the burn status. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 8-18%]
Dragonbreath [Dragon]: Amber channels her dragon heritage and belches a force breath that packs a massive punch like a heavy wind just slammed into you unlike it's gaseous cousins. It has a 10% chance to stun and a 30% chance to paralyze. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG 16%]
Flare Blitz [Fire]: Amber violently throws herself at an opponent and cloaks her body in flames, using herself as a projectile and slamming into them! She takes 5% recoil and then another 5% recoil on a successful hit and becomes briefly vulnerable as she bounces off of them. If the opponent shields or otherwise blocks her attack, she suffers a -2 dodge penalty against the first attack that opponent makes against her on her next turn. Flare Blitz has a 50% chance to burn, a 20% chance to cause Disabled (Dexterity), and a 15% chance to stun. [DMG 25% + Dex Mod]
Special Attacks (3)
Blaze [Fire]: For every 20% damage Amber accumulates, her dexterity and constitution stat increases by 1. However, she doesn't gain extra HP if this buff increases her con modifier. If she begins her turn at 1/3rd of her max HP or below, Blaze activates and her attacks do 1.5x damage. [DMG %]
Flaming Flower Trick [Grass]: A bouquet of flowers is conjured up and thrown at an enemy, exploding in the air to rain dry, flammable petals around them that will light up in an instant if any fire or electric attacks hit them, causing those attacks to have a +1 to their accuracy, deal 6 extra damage and adding a 30% chance of burning to them. But then they're usually gone, so it only lasts one turn--the turn they're first lit up. 1 turn cooldown. [DMG %]
