Awww yeah.  Fighting time.

Morgan had, as per usual, foregone her usual skirt and robe look and had outfitted herself in a Grandmaster's armor, prepared for combat as she stepped out into the arena, twirling around a simple Bronze Sword and holding her Thunder tome in her left hand, the spitting image of her father.  At least, as far as outfits and fighting styles go - Robin doesn't look that feminine.

She couldn't let herself get too rusty in either combat or strategy, so, clearly, the best way to do that was to practice against whoever wanted to throw themselves at her.  It would also help acquaint her to her more lacking moveset at the moment, although she hoped that would only be a temporary issue - she missed the rest of her tomes quite a bit.

In any case, she makes her way out to the battlefield and turns to address the crowd.  Now, how did those people in Arena Ferox do this again...? "Yo!  Fight me if you're not a wimp!"

...Close enough.

A familiar set of footsteps reached Morgan's ears as another face entered the stadium. A very familiar face, to both her and the crowd watching. Bowser Jr had been in the stadium many times before, with varying degrees of success. But he never backed down from a challenge, and when he saw that Morgan had issued one...well, he couldn't just let that one sit there, could he?

"Hey!" Jr called out to Morgan as he entered the stadium. "You may have got the better of my last time, but that's not gonna happen again! You don't have any backup, and neither do I. This time it's just you against me!"

Now Jr wasn't what you'd call an intimidating opponent. Standing all of 4 feet all, and rather chubby, Jr looked more like a life-sized plush then anything truly threatening. But if Jr's time spent on Li had taught him anything, it's that looks can be very deceiving. Morgan was a prime example. So, regardless of how he looked, he was ready to take her on himself. Stomping his feet to make him look...at least a little threatening, Jr was ready to rumble.

...Now, there was a familiar face.  Morgan gave a bright grin as Bowser Jr. made his way onto the arena floor, and immediately flipped open her tome.  "Hey!  Didn't really expect to see you here, of all people.  You really gonna make me kick your butt again?"  Well.  That was his prerogative, Morgan supposed - and she couldn't criticize too much.  Trash talk is trash talk, but it takes some level of guts to even step out onto the arena.  Crying shame that she was gonna have to try and make him regret it.

Of course, Morgan had a game plan.  She'd begin chanting, and glyphs and sigils of some unknown origin would begin to float around her as she concentrated her magical power on her spells - and as she did, she'd start laying down some suppressive fire.  It wasn't anything incredible, but Morgan's spells never are until she's got some serious traction - once she had some higher charges on her spells, she was gonna start dishing out some serious damage.  If she could... last that long.

In any case, she's gonna start with a few blasts from a basic Fire spell and tossing them at Jr's feet, as a tactic to buy time for her other spells.

"You wish. I'm gonna be the one that's doing the kicking this time!" Jr called back, before Morgan started to chant, and some kind of symbols started floating around her. Guess that was Jr's cue to start the match! The Koopa kid didn't have much time to get moving before Morgan shot a few blasts of fire towards his feet. Or at least, that's where Jr thought she was aiming. Her shot went a little higher then that though, and nailed Jr square in his belly.

But...the flames didn't dissipate, or even burn him. Instead, as soon as the flames pushed into his stomach, Jr started pushing back, shoving his torso forward as the ball of fire shot back from his stomach, and back at Morgan! Jr hoped that'd be enough to throw off her aim, but no such luck. As Jr was forced back from the recoil of bouncing that ball of flames of himself, he tried ducking into his shell, and not a moment to soon, for Morgan's next fire attack seared around him, and from the damage it was doing to his shell, Jr figured it was a pretty powerful spell.

He felt his shell crack a little bit as he flew farther back. He wasn't hurt, but he didn't think he could try something like that again unless he wanted his shell to shatter completely. "...Wow, Morgan. That was a pretty good shot!" Jr said, poking his head out of his shell. "That nearly broke my shell comel-YEEOOW!"

For his troubles, Jr received a blast of fire to his face, interrupting his thought with a scream of pain. Alright if she wanted to play it that way...

"Owww...Fine, if you want to be like that, we can play it your way! Take this!" Jr called out, before breathing a stream of flames in Morgan's direction.

While the flames burned around Morgan, Jr rushed forward and leapt into the air. Hopefully the flames were enough to distract her so he could get a real hit in. As the flames grew closer to Morgan, so did Jr, as he aimed to land on top of her and disorientate her!

She got some chip damage in, which was good.  Morgan supposed that was fine, since she was just playing for time at the moment.  And then, uh... well, one of her Fires came back, which was less than ideal.  "What the heck?"

...But, she'd inevitably eat her own fireball, making an attempt to dispel the returned attack and ultimately failing as the ball recoiled with more force.  "...Huh?"  She supposed this kind of thing was exactly why she fought in the arena, though.  How was she supposed to see that coming otherwise?

...And now, it was Jr's turn, as he made his counterattack.  First of all, a stream of fire to meet Morgan's own.

And she'd cleanly leap out of the way of the stream of fire, quickly pivoting around to face Jr - who was suddenly in the air.  Oh god, oh fuck-

She'd make a wall of protective magic in front of herself to stop the incoming attack, but even that would take significant damage.  It was to be expected, Morgan supposed - her defensive magic was never particularly great.  She'd still be sent skidding backwards from the attack, even as she didn't take any damage.  "...Well, okay then.  I think I'm gonna have to take this one seriously."

And, in an instant, purple and pink fire would completely engulf Morgan as Ignis activated, drawing out more and more power.  The glyphs around her would appear more and more frequently as her spell charging accelerated - she'd just need one more good turn to finish building power and unleash all hell onto Jr.  For now, though... she needed to create space, and since she hadn't been charging her Fire tome at all, it'd be the ideal distraction.  She'd raise it once more, and:

Jr ducked under yet another bolt of flames before a fifth seared his side. It hurt pretty badly, but thanks to his flame-resistant skin it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Grunting with effort, Jr got to his feet again. Morgan was pretty strong, as much as he didn't want to admit it. He was gonna need some backup. Luckily, calling for backup was something that he was perfectly capable of doing. "Sure, Morgan! But me first!" he called back. Pulling out his giant paintbrush, he waved it around, splashing paint on the ground in front of him.

As the goop hit the stadium floor, it rippled for a couple seconds, before what looked like a Piranha Plant covered from root to lip in the slop erupted from the puddle. Turning its attention to Morgan, it reached forward and attempted to take a bite out of her!

As the Piranha Plant kept Morgan busy, Jr rather clumsily sprinted away from his opponent. If he was gonna win, he was gonna need a bit more firepower. And that called for a change of tactics. Putting a claw to his mouth, Jr let out a whistle. The sound of a small propeller echoed around the stadium, before the Clown Car descended into the battlefield and parked itself next to Jr. Smirking, the Koopa Prince hopped into his beloved ride.

Squeezing himself into the cockpit, Jr ran his hands over the controls under the rim. Something here had to give him an edge...but what? It had to hit hard....chipping away at Morgan wasn't going to do anything, not when she was throwing spells like this around. It had to be constant pressure....Wait! He had just the thing! Hitting one of the many buttons, the Clown Car deployed its cannon, aiming slightly upward, before lobbing out a spike-covered cannonball straight toward the half-dragon tactician!

She'd felt pretty good about that fireball, and it was a real shame that it didn't do quite as much as she'd been hoping.  Of course, there was no time to dwell on that - Bowser Jr had summoned a... a plant?  With teeth?  What the hell even is biology where Bowser Jr comes from?

...Then again, Morgan can use a rock to transform into a dragon.  Maybe she isn't really someone who can criticize- Oh, shoot, the plant's attacking!

Great start.  The Piranha Plant would just barely manage to bite into Morgan, who'd give a hiss of pain as she fell back.  In spite of that, though, it wouldn't go quite as planned - as the Piranha Plant attempted to chomp down on her, her skin would harden in scales, and suddenly, biting through her got a lot harder, mitigating some of the incoming damage.  Now, the Koopa was in some sort of car, it seemed like - and she was being shot at.

Oh dear.

...And it hit her dead-on, giving her no time to react at all and sending her reeling backwards.  Well, that fucking SMARTS.  With the sudden lull in Jr's attacks, though, now it was time for Morgan's counterattack.  "Alright, let's see how you like this!"  Both her sword and her Thunder tome would float in the air around her as a beam of electricity would suddenly escape from her hand, shooting towards Bowser Jr!

And finally, for the first time in this fight, Morgan would promptly and suddenly close in, summoning forth a Levin Sword and attempting to lay into Jr, nearly disregarding the existence of the Clown Car as she attempted to cut through it all the same.

Now Jr didn't quite expect something like that! He couldn't pull the Clown Car out of the line of fire in time, and the beam of electricity hit him dead on. Crying out in pain, Jr gripped the rim of the Clown Car tightly, panting a bit as the electricity died
down. But that hesitiation proved to be his undoing, because no sooner did he stopthen a bolt of lightning dropped from above and shocked the daylights out of him.

"ARRGH!" Jr screamed, collapsing in the cockpit of his car before hurridly pulling himself up. If he didn't get his act together soon, Morgan was gonna flash-fry him! Forcing himself to the Car's controls again, he started to manuver around Morgan's swordplay as he started to rush him.

At first, Jr did pretty well, weaving around Morgan's strikes easily. But one sloppy strike from Morgan still managed to strike Jr in the gut. Ow, that hurt! He couldn't afford to get cocky. He was starting to run out of steam. Hunkering down into the Car, he started hitting buttons again. The Car's engine revved, and Jr shot forward quickly, barrelling toward Morgan in an attempt to run her over.

Following this, Jr swiveled around to face the tactician again, this time deploying the cannon, firing out a normal, if still very heavy, cannonball to follow up, hoping Morgan was too disorientated from the hit and run to avoid it.

Following that, the cannon sent out a blast of compressed air from the barrel. Guess it must be the firing mechanism malfuncioning. Or maybe Jr did that on purpose. Whatever the case, Morgan would have to be quick if she didn't want to get caught in the slipstream!

...Ugh, that was sloppy.  That should've been game, then and there, but she got careless.  Something about being mortally wounded tended to mess with your concentration.  She was absolute running out of steam, but Jr wasn't going to make it that easy, suddenly going on the offensive once more, attempting to run her down.

...And Morgan was just a bit too slow, getting hit head-on by the incoming attack.  Damn, that smarts.  But Morgan still had fire in her eyes - she wasn't done yet, gritting her teeth and steadying for the next, incoming attack.

As the cannonball swiftly followed, Morgan would dive out of the way.  That was a close one - any closer and she was pretty sure she'd be toast, actually.  But there was one more attack coming - and as a practitioner of wind magic herself, she knew an issue when she saw one.

With a wave of her hand, Jr's wind magic would be met with some of Morgan's own, diverting the incoming strike away from herself - and then her tome would switch.  "This stubborn thing isn't cute.  Just go down already!"

...She wasn't feeling great, honestly.  This needed to end NOW.  Not to mention, at this rate, Ignis was gonna wear off - assuming she lasted long enough to even feel the repercussions of that.  But for now?  A mix of Thunder and Fire would rain down on Bowser Jr from Morgan and from above - no way he could take much more of this, right?  ONE of these had to hit.

Jr managed to swerve away from another fireball heading his way, and ducked down into the car to avoid the Thunder. However, this maneuver didn't quite work as anticipated though, as the surge of electricity caused the Car's systems to spike, sending an arc of electricity into Jr's body. It didn't hurt as much as he thought Morgan's attack would have, but it still stung quite a bit, and given how exhausted he was already, that didn't bode well. He was just about ready to collapse in the cockpit....

And that's when another flreball rained down from the sky

Exhausted as he was, Jr didn't see the fireball coming, and that was his downfall. As the flames raged around him, the heat became too much for the Koopa prince. When the smoke cleared, Jr was flopped over the rim of the Clown Car, unconscious. A poke or two would probably be enough to revive him, but for now...that was game. Morgan had won

And as Bowser Jr went down, Morgan's give a sigh, sinking to a knee.  That was definitely a little rougher than she'd been expecting - no doubt thanks in part to Nat 1s her own sloppiness, but she'd pulled through, and that was what was important.  Oh, but, she should probably make sure Bowser Jr was okay, huh?  She picked on him a fair bit, but didn't wanna seriously hurt the guy.  That'd be pretty rude.

Of course, first, she's gotta deal with that Mortal Wound she got, quickly patching herself up.  She'd... probably need a little medical attention for that one, but she'd be alright.  She didn't think she'd risk bleeding out on the way.  Anywho, she marches up to Bowser Jr and pokes him in the face a few times.  Upon confirming he was out cold, though, she sighs.  "By Naga- er, by Grandma- oh, who knows."  She's sure as hell not picking Bowser Jr up, though.  Instead, she marches off of the stadium, looking for someone who could come up and patch Bowser Jr up.
