"Hey Zelda! Ready to go? I just need to throw on my armor and I'll be all set. I already ate and ...I think... Carbuncle already ran off while I wasn't looking. Dangit. Well, hopefully he stays here in the life sphere at least. I guess it's been a little hard on him, staying behind on adventures lately. ...Hey, did you make sure Groose would be pre-occupied? Iii... really don't want to listen to him flirt while we're out there."

A moderately lengthy flight to the valley of death later...

Arle was holding onto Zelda's waist as the two flew toward Eldin Volcano. A thick cloud of black smoke was billowing out from the mountain's peak and it belched out a rather large plume of the stuff as they approached. Arle couldn't help but question how safe this area was just because of the volcano alone. As if on cue, Fi popped out to give her a lecture!

“Mistress Arle, my observations suggest that the air here is very toxic. There are large areas of space with oxygen levels too low to support human life, as well as large concentrations of toxic gasses. I recommend...”

...As Fi spoke though, Arle was distracted by something. It wasn't that she didn't think what Fi said was important. She got the general gist of what she was saying, but... Well, There was a  massive black cloud of gas dropping toward them at rather high speeds. One never really considered how fast gasses like clouds moved until one was being chased by one. For a moment Arle wasn't sure what to do. The speed and behavior of this cloud took her off guard. But when she realized it was definitely about to impact them, she blurted out a panicked. "--Look out!!"

...But it was too late. The cloud of burning ash and gas decsended upon them. Arle attempted to shield her face, but it was no use. She couldn't breathe. ...And neither could their loftwing. They had about as long as they could hold their breathes, likely a matter of seconds considering the loftwing was doing heavy exercise and couldn't afford not to breathe, before they began to drop from the sky and lose consciousness. There would be no safe landing from this.

Samus and Shiya...

It was sometime after the fall. Long enough that Samus may have reason to worry and Shiya might be able to begin tracking them down properly after likely losing them in that eruption. Their search would lead them along a dirt path lined with rivers of lava, leading across the mountain. A trio of infected guards were standing post outside what appeared to be a cave of some sort, one of them much ... fatter than the others. What do you do?

Meanwhile, Arle and Zelda...

...Arle eventually woke up. ...Woke up? They dropped out of the sky! It was a miracle they were even alive! That wasn't to say that she felt good, though. She promptly began to cough , clutching at her chest as she took in the rather gross inconsistency in the air. A light gasp escaped her and she jolted upright. The first thing she noticed was that she was in a cage. ...The second thing she noticed were the bugs crawling on her body. Arle yelped in alarm. Those were starvia bugs! Jolting to her feet, she began brushing herself off. However, the air itself had enough airborne starvia in it that she could taste it every time she breathed. Arle shuddered. How long had she been out? How long did she have left before the infection progressed to a terminal state?? She could feel a deep sense of malaise. A weakness and a coldness inside her. Her mind was a bit cloudy, and it felt like she was running a fever. Not. Good.

Judging by the large presence of starvia in this ...cave? She could only assume she'd been put here to rot. Looking around, she spotted Zelda in another cage nearby. She wasn't conscious, which freaked Arle right out. What she didn't see was Zelda's loftwing, but that was a minor concern to her for right now. She needed to get out of here! She also found what appeared to be the key to these cages mounted on the wall, far out of reach. ...Huh. Producing a magical bow, she tossed it like a boomerang through the bars and it latched onto the keys, giving them a sharp tug off their hook as the ribbon spun around and returned to Arle, bringing her the keys! Arle sighed in relief. Good thing she kept this around. She never knew when she might need it! Fiddling around, she managed to unlock her cage and quickly set about stumbling over to Zelda. Walking kind of hurt at first. The starvia was attacking her body and doing unseen damage to her insides. ...She tried not to think about that. Unlocking Zelda's cage, she dropped to her knees and rolled Zelda onto her back, gingerly giving her a little shake as she tried to rouse her, brushing the starvia bugs away with a swat of her wrist and attempting to heal her, the fear of what it would mean if she didn't wake up very much looming over her mind. One ought not feel cold in a volcanic area, but neither of the girls was entirely healthy right now. They'd both sustained significant starvia exposure, and the smart decision was probably to get out of here right now so that their bodies could recover and fight off the starvia while they were still healthy enough to do so. However, in the back of her head Arle knew Zelda wouldn't want to leave her loftwing behind, and she had no idea where it was. Zelda may very well wake up with a very concerned Arle hovering over her.

"Z-Zelda, are you alright? Please wake up..."

“I do believe I’m as ready as I’ll ever be with this one around.” Zelda giggled, giving her restless Loftwing a pet on its bill. “You’ve just been itching to fly since sunrise, haven’t you~.” She cooed at her majestic lavender bird. It would only reply with a nuzzle against its master before stretching its neck out for Arle to pet it too.

“-Groose? Oh no I forgot all about him!” Zelda facepalmed, now realizing where that nagging feeling she was forgetting something came from.
“Not to worry, girls. The ‘Great’ Groose wont be flirting with anyone today.” A voice projected itself into Arle and Zelda’s minds. “He and Pit are on a Divine Mission of their own today.”
“A ‘Divine Mission’ huh?” Zelda chuckled, seeing through Palutena’s ruse immediately. “How did you get them to fall for that one?”

“Gentlemen. There comes a time in every man’s life when he must discover his place in life. When he learns the truth of his purpose on earth. When he must take heed of higher calling. When he must heed the beacon of divine duty. His Goddess-given Mission! Gentlemen, today is Groose’s day.” Groose stoically announced. “Sure, Link had a fetch quest for the sake of of the world and future generations of people to come. But I, the Great Groose, have a mission for which the fate of not only the Earth, but very Heavens Themselves hang in the balance!” He proclaimed with a finger pointing skyward. “Welcome to Groose and Palutena’s Boot Camp, and if you’re as smarter than you are strong you’d have guessed that I, the Great Groose, am your coach.” He introduced himself to his listeners, who were revealed to be Palutena’s Army, gathered at the Skyworld training grounds. “Look at these bisceps!” He flexed for his listeners. “Look at these Triceps! Look at these Buns and Thighs! If I am to fulfill my destiny, then there is hope that You may one day be half as buff as me!” He enticed his hopeful trainees. “Now first things first: Drop and give me Twenty!” He commanded, only for about twenty Centurions to dive clean off the floating island. Pit could only face palm.

“Quite easily, actually.” Palutena shrugged. “So, Testing, testing~ How are the acoustics?” Palutena asked, adjusting the frequency of her echoing effect.
“I was just about to ask, Palutena. Just how are you-”
“Well normally there’s a whole sacred ritual one has to go through to install this communication system, but I took the liberty of blessing your hair wraps and your tiara while you were being baptized in my hot spring~.” Palutena cheekily revealed as Zelda realized she was hearing Palutena through her hair. Zelda was visibly miffed that Palutena had gone through her belongings behind her back. “You’re welcome~. Now we’ll be able to chat no matter where in the world you go.”
“...Speaking of which, it’s about time we go, Arle.” Zelda decided to drop the matter and focus on what was important. “We have a long ways to fly to get to…Where are we going again, Palutena?” Zelda asked, realizing the map of the surface she had was woefully outdated.
“To the Valley of Death. But you are right, it is pretty far from here. Much farther than a five minute flight would bring you~.” She hinted at why Pit wasn’t coming along as Arle and Zelda mounted her Loftwing and took off.

A moderately lengthy flight to the valley of death later...

Eldin Volcano was coming clear in the distance. Landing anywhere within walking distance was going to be tricky. The active volcano was emitting quite a lot of smoke and posing a very real flight hazard. A flight hazard that despite Zelda’s best efforts to avoid and fly around it, they were still…mysteriously ambushed by.
“Look out, Zelda! I’m detecting some very abnormal behavior from those clouds!” Palutena tried to warn, unable to steer Zelda’s Loftwing clear of the smoke the way she might have been able to Pit’s. Despite her best efforts to clear the sky and guide, Zelda, her Loftwing Arle, and their whole party disappeared under a ceiling of toxic black smoke.

Zelda’s first signs of life were a very violent cough.
“Ugh..-hack- what…Arle! Where are we?” A dazed and sickly Zelda opened her eyes to find a very concerned Arle hovering over her. Thank goodness she was still safe… Relatively. But what of…literally everything else? Grasping her for stability Zelda opened her eyes wider and looked to her left and her right. Where were they? “What’s going on?” She began to panic as her weakened body shook off some extra starvia bugs. “Arle!” Zelda shrieked, huddling closer to her and looking around them.
“We need to get out of here! Where’s…Where’s my Loftwing?” She asked amid another fit of coughing.

One thing was for certain, they were not in any position to be of any use to themselves, each other or anyone with this much starvia bearing down on them. To buy herself and Arle just a second’s worth of time to gather heir bearings, Zelda casted Lanayru’s Love around them, briefly shielding them from the starvia on all sides in a wedge of amber.

"Ugh... I hate walking." Shiya groaned for possibly the twentieth time to Samus as they hiked up the mountain.

Shiya had a lot of respect for the leader. She was a strong and capable woman (he didn't know that part until she took off her helmet), she was reliable in dangerous situations, and her arm canon was awesome as all hell. He would know; he stole it from her once and turned it into a death-laser with the help of an evil god sword A.I. that possessed him... but that was besides the point. Shiya had no problem working with her on a mission like this... but after seeing their mission-mates stricken down from the sky, whom they were tracking at the moment, he couldn't help voice his worries through complaints as they attempted to progress up the deathly geography.

When he first started off doing missions, he of course had been walking every which way. It was exhausting, especially that time he walked all the way to the Essence Extraction Point; so he wasn't very enthusiastic having to return to those old ways now that he was powerless. If only he had his powers... he could've made a portal gun to get them straight to the top. Or even better, remade the Absolution and blown the entire place to smithereens!

...Okay, so maybe that last one wouldn't have been as helpful, but he still could've done it!

As they came up upon a group of infected monsters, Shiya took the chance to run straight at the group, a simple wooden bat raised over his head. Time to vent some frustrations! "DIE MONSTERS! FEEL THE WEIGHT OF MY WOODEN SHAFT!"

"I could of brought my Gunship, But..." Samus would say, Dawning her Power Armor already equipped to herself, as she rested a hand onto her Arm cannon to keep it lowered. There was danger in the air here, Especially from the spewing black ash above, knowing it would no doubt stir the Infected a bit, as Samus shook her head, helmet and all. "...Have you seen Arle or Zelda anywhere yet?" Samus would say to shiya half-handedly, Putting a hand to her helmet, as she brought up her own Phone, Trying to ring Arle's Cellphone. Ring Ring...Ring Ring...Ring Ring...



"...Disconnected." Samus would say, Readying her arm cannon as she narrowed her eyes, Walking down the Dirt path, Her Varia Suit quickly dealing with the intense lava heat and diminishing any discomfort Samus would feel, Instead letting Samus come upon the Three Infected, whom were...Not Wearing anything, except some loin cloths. Clearly, Samus came overdressed.



Regardless, Samus could immediately tell there infection, Aiming her arm cannon forward. "Shiya, Take care of the Arch--" Samus would begin trying to form a battle plan, but it was quickly for not, as Shiya would yell...The stupidest thing Samus ever heard. "Your Wooden Sh--...Nevermind, You handle the Big one." Samus would say with a huff, Looking at the Sword Bokoblin and the Archer. Well, Theoretically, Shiya could dodge Arrows, But two large blades would be alot tougher. So, Divide and Conquer! Samus would whistle to get the attention of the Swords Bokoblin, Before raring a Omega Cannon to that Sword wielder, ass a massive blast of plasma would fly by!

Arle and Zelda...

Arle gently pulled Zelda into a very clingy hug, just kinda holding her tightly for a moment. There was a moment of silence from her, and Zelda could feel Arle lay her forehead against the other for a moment. "...I don't know." Arle half-heartedly replied. "Zelda I thought you were dead." Arle softly added. It might become clear she was pretty shaken by what had happened. She took a few deep breathes, just kinda holding Zelda for a moment longer before continuing. "I don't know how long we were out, but I don't feel very well. How about you?" Arle asked. Of course, she already knew the answer more or less. It was just a matter of courtesy to ask. "...The starvia's already inside us. We should probably leave while we still can. We're going to get really sick if we stay here." Arle explained, averting her eyes for a moment. She knew Zelda wouldn't leave her loftwing behind. And she refused to leave a mother figure behind, risk of infection or no. "...Let's try and find your loftwing, though." Arle relented, smiling up at Zelda sweetly. She then got up and bent over to give Zelda her hands and help her up! As she did this, a twang could be heard from behind her!

Arle's expression twisted in horror as an arrow struck her right in the behind, jolting upright and turning nice and red, a yelp of pain escaping her. She turned about to confront her attacker, presenting her back to Zelda in the process. One of Arle's hands was reaching back for the arrow that was sticking out of her behind in a rather comical manner. It almost looked like she had a tail! She appeared to be unable to get a good hold on it though. After a few moments of squirming about trying, she gave up and growled in frustration at her attacker. "--Lined up that shot just perfectly, didn't you, you little brat!" Arle snapped. At the mouth of the room they were in was ...Archan! A small pre-teen elven girl.

"How could I ever miss such a big, fat target~?"

"--What--..." Arle replied in disbelief. "--Hey! What're you trying to say, huh?" she went on to protest. "I'm saying you have an enormous butt, fatass. It's not my fault it's the easiest part of your body to hit. Who's that? Your girlfriend~?" Archan bluntly replied and mocked, shrugging helplessly at the situation. A guttural growl of fury escaped Arle and she just kinda death glared at Archan, shaking with rage. Archan merely laughed childishly at how upset she was making Arle. ...Was this really a good time to be fighting with uninfected children though? She might even have seen something worth their while.

Meanwhile, Samus and Shiya...

The infected shield moblin groaned sickly as it was beaten with a bat, however it remained standing and moved its shield to block one of Shiya's swings before attempting to poke him with its large spear!

Meanwhile, the Swords Bokoblin was just kinda blown away by Samus' Omega laser. However the Archer Bokoblin, left unattended, picked up the slack by launching an arrow at Samus' mid-section.

It then quickly notched another arrow and fired it at Shiya's knee!

Finally, the sword bokoblin managed to get back up and rejoin the fight! It promptly rushed Samus, swinging its crude sword at her wildly!

Intending to uphold the Lanyru’s Love shield long enough to plan a route of escape, Zelda was not expecting the soft clingy hug Arle pulled her into. Despite the alarming urgency of their situation, it came even more to Zelda’s surprise how much she needed it.

“I can assure you that I am very much alive.” Zelda panted, using the strength Arle had given her to put on a brave face. “…However, I am not sure for how long.” A smile interrupted by yet another cough.
“You’re very right, Arle. Every second we waste here; we court an increasing risk of infection.” She grimly resisted her urge to hug Arle back and cradle her protectively in her arms. “I cannot even to imagine the peril my Loftwing might be at this very moment.” Her lips trembled in despair at the thought, followed by a violent cough, so strong that the impulse to cover her mouth broke her concentration and the shield of amber fell.
Lanyru’s Love deactivated just in time for an arrow to land its mark in Arle’s butt.
“Arle! What happened? Are you—oh my.” Zelda gasped in alarm, fearing the worst before Arle turned around and reveal what the matter was. “—you have an arrow lodged in your—” Even if she didn’t have to cough, she likely would not have finished her sentence. There was no time for any of this tomfoolery. But to run away with such a tool protruding from ones behind must be most uncomfortable.

“Hold still.” Zelda instructed, trying to get Arle to stop reaching back and fiddling in vain. As Arle began to scold her shooter, Zelda took a firm grip of the arrow and...

“There.” She exhaled firmly. Now the next step would be to disinfect the wound, place a bandage upon it and kiss it, but despite having brought said bandages, this was the last place to disinfect as necessary
“How dare you?” Zelda spoke up from behind Arle, angry enough to ignore the question about her and Arle’s relationship. “You should be ashamed of yourself! Shooting innocent people as if we were wild game.” She staggered up in front of Arle and limped toward Archan to give her a piece of her mind. A mind that needed to be reminded it was in danger. “What are you doing here anyway?” Zelda asked upon being reminded by her own coughing. “This place is crawling with Starvia! This is neither the time nor place for any of this!” Her tone shifted to a warning one as if she were convinced Archan hadn’t realized.
“We must all evacuate immediately.” She fell limp, gripping Archan’s shoulder for balance. She was far from off the hook, but Zelda recognized there were more pressing matters at hand.
“But while we’re at it, you haven’t happened to have seen a giant lavender plumed bird anywhere nearby, have you?”

As corny and cringe his wording had been, Shiya certainly proved his aptitude in battle almost immediately: In one fluid motion, the ex-mage managed to power-slide underneath the Shield Moblin's over-sized spear while dodging the arrow pot shot towards his knee. In fact, Shiya snatched the arrow right out of the air; stabbing it into the Shield Moblin's large shield before using it as a foothold to spring over the infected creature; trying to use the maneuver to bypass the shield and crack his bat down on the fat native's head.

"Sticks and stones gonna break your bones!" On his way back down the Moblin's back, Shiya threw several particularly sharp sticks wildly into the air; raining down a spray of sharp branches and twigs haphazardly onto the entire group of enemies in the area! "Mainly sticks though!"

Though his aim wasn't the best, at least Shiya managed not to hit Samus with the twiggy attack. "Don't worry Samus! We totally got this!" The scarlet stick-ster stated in an attempt to encourage the life sphere leader. Well, at least he wasn't completely useless.

Samus would swiftly roll over to her side, Curling into the shockingly small morph ball and then uncurling once she had dodged the Arrow flying well overhead her, Then Proceeding to Curl up once more, rolling backwards to avoid the Sword Swipe, Unfurling fairly quickly, Readying her arm cannon as she watched the Shield Bokoblin ready himself, Taking to a Tank Position, and for Shiya to forego strategy and start flailing his bat against the big monster, and then raining sticks all about the place. "Shiya, I have a Plan! Try to keep the Shielded one distracted, Ill sneak to its rear and blast it!" Samus would say, Before deciding to help even the Odds by eliminating a challenger!

And so, Samus's Cannon would expand, Shifting and instead placing a missile into its chamber, Before Samus slammed the Blunt of her Gun into the Sword Bokoblin, Point Bursting to eliminate him!

Arle and Zelda...

Arle blanched rather hard as Zelda grasped the shaft of the arrow and just kinda emitted the softest little yelp of shock as it was yanked out. ...Ow. She just kinda stood there with a look of grim determination on her face, resolute in her choice not to cry out in further pain. How did taking it out hurt worse?? ...Well, better deal with that before she bled all over the place. "...Healing..." Arle softly incanted. While Arle quietly tended to herself, Archan began backing away as Zelda approached her. "What do you care?? I go where I want!" she brattily replied. However, before she could get very far, a much larger figure than any of the girls present stepped into view, his heavy foostep carrying with it the heavy clank of metal armor. With a heft of his arm, the large figure lifted an enormous, comically oversized sword over his shoulder.

"Your soul... Give it to me!"

Arle cringed rather hard. "--Wah!! No thank you! I'm taken!" she blurted out in response. She was seemingly being nice about it, not addressing the actual reason she didn't want any of that. The demon knight just kind of paused for a moment. "...I do not want your heart, little girl! Your blood shall quench my sword's thirst, and you... will become my nourishment" the knight coldly replied. Arle just kind of gave him a funny look, her face paling a bit at the mental image he gave her. "...Is that a metaphor?" Arle timidly asked. "...No..." the knight replied. Arle shuddered slightly. "...Of course not." she lamely remarked. At this, Fi emerged from Arle's Goddess Sword to stand before the group.

“Mistress Arle, I have an urgent message for you. You stand before a very powerful foe. By my estimations, even a glancing blow from his sword may prove lethal. Please, exercise the utmost caution.”

Fi then vanished back into Arle's Goddess Sword. "...Alright. Well, if you're here to eat me you should know you have a lot of competition there." Arle remarked, digging around in her bag for a specific item, a keychain, and jingling it. She then held out an arm across Zelda's chest and began lightly pushing her back as she herself began quickly backing up. "Darkness... devours all." the knight replied, advancing toward the girls. Archan quickly retreated toward Arle and Zelda to get away from him. "Uh-huh. Well, good luck with that." Arle replied. Just then, an enormous T-Rex jammed its maw into the mouth of the cave and opened it as much as it could to snap up everyone inside!

However, it only managed to grab the knight before it got stuck, snapping its jaws down on him and dragging him back out of the cave. "Hah! He got ate!" Archan remarked. "--Yyyeah. Let's get out of here before one of them comes back for seconds!" Arle remarked, pulling Zelda close and wrapping her arm around her so that Zelda could lean against her for support. She then rushed out of the cave with Zelda and Archan, making a point to keep a wide distance from the T-Rex, which seemed to have dropped the knight and began fighting him. A masked and armored man riding on its back opened fire on the knight with a laser rifle. "...Woah." Arle remarked, staring for a moment before deciding not to linger. Better to get some distance before they started asking questions.

Crack! Shiya's baseball bat slammed into the shield moblin's shield. Yow! If he hadn't had that shield up, that probably would've hurt a lot! It promptly attempted to bash Shiya in the face with its shield in retaliation, forcing him back!

Meanwhile, Samus' longbeam manages to miss its target, however she is able to eliminate the sword bokoblin and wound the archer bokoblin. The archer, wounded and disorientated, found it a bit harder to fire off arrows than when it was uncontested last turn. Still, it managed to fire off a single arrow at Samus' chest.

“What do I care?!” Zelda snapped back at Archan, having absolutely none of this. “Young lady, if we don’t leave right now, we are all going to-” Zelda asserted, not even realizing the angry mom voice she was putting on when a fiend, the likes of which her kind became legends just for stopping, stepped into the cave.

It came…for their souls? Not again. This was the very last thing any of them needed right now. Not just for Zelda, but for Arle as well. Zelda couldn’t help but take a curious sideways glance when she said her soul was taken. Taken by who? She really had to remember to ask again about this later on because now was most definitely not the time. Her face grew palest of all when it described how it wanted to eat her unmetaphorically.
What were they going to do? Stand and fight it? It seemed they had no choice. Suddenly, in that moment the sword that Zelda herself crafted in her former incarnation glowed and a spirit emerged from within. Zelda felt comforted by the appearance of Fi and listened eagerly for the…obvious advise she gave before returning. …oh dear. It was up to them again.
Even in their dire situation, Zelda did a cringing shrugging nod in agreement with Arle on just how many foes out there wanted to eat her.
Back to the matter at hand, they weren’t in any condition to outrun such a fit creature of darkness. They’d barely be out of range of the first swing of that oversized sword if they tried. But what if… What if one of them distracted it? Engaged it in battle while the rest hobbled away? But which one of them would do it? Certainly not Archan, they barely knew her and nothing about her screamed sacrifice type. Should Arle do it? Absolutely not. Thus it was up to Zelda to now lay down her life for… Wait, what was Arle doing? Backing the three of them up? What are you doing?...

“!!!” Zelda shrieked in shock and horror as out of nowhere an enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex drove into the cave and bit out the demon knight as if it were bobbing for apples!
“Yes, quite right, let’s go.” Zelda panted wildly, trying to reregulate her heart pressure. Limping as hard as she could, holding onto both Arle and Archan, not letting either of them leave her sight, Zelda looked back for another frightful view of the dinosaur devouring the devil. The two were locked in battle and…was that someone on its back? A masked man was battling the demon knight.
“Who is that?” Zelda asked at whisper tone. Whoever he was, he was giving them a chance to get away. One they could not afford to squander.
A lot of Zelda wanted her to stay and help he who helped them slay this beast, but if they stayed where they were they would succumb before they could be of any use.
Zelda wouldn’t forget this brave hero’s help, nor the debt she owed to him.

In the meantime, as she hobbled away with the two girls, Zelda’s eyes were on the skies for any trace signs of her Loftwing.

Arle just kinda shrugged at Zelda's question, eager to get away from the fighting as quickly as possible. Once they'd put some distance between themselves and the chaos, Arle stopped to catch her breath. “That was nuts! Did you see how big that monster was?” Arle replied. “...Wait, where'd that girl go?” Arle added, noticing that Archan had disappeared while they were fleeing. She glanced around, covering the backside of her skirt with her hands in an anxious manner. She swore, if she got shot... ...Meanwhile, Zelda can see Archan plain as day, hiding behind Arle and deftly moving about her to evade her vision as she moved around. Arle looked about several times before Archan squealed in her ear, nearly scaring her out of her boots! She then giggled as Arle emitted a frustrated growling noise at her in response. “Haha! You squawked louder than that lady's bird!” Archan teased.

“...Wait, what do you know about my mom's bird?” Arle replied in confusion. “I saw monsters hauling it away to the big fancy temple! They're probably gonna make it into stew!” Archan replied. “What?! How long ago was this!” Arle replied in alarm. “Awhile~ It's probably already gone. Oooh, ooh, what if they're performing demon magic to summon something? They could be doing that too.” she offered. “...Whatever. Fi, can you tell us the direction of the Fire Sanctuary?” Arle asked.

“Yes, Mistress. Please hold your sword aloft and turn until the sword resonates its strongest.”

Fi instructed. Doing as instructed, Arle found that the sword began to glow dimly. As she moved it, the dimness changed. Yet... she couldn't help but notice that every time she aimed up the mountain, it went away entirely.

“...Mistress Arle? The sword is not glowing its brightest.”

Fi warned. At this, Arle very hesitantly pointed the sword downward. The sword glew quite brightly at this and Arle gasped. “...It's below us!” she exclaimed.

...But how did they get under the ground? “...Hold on, I think I can get us down there. Just gimme a bit to perform a ritual so the way down won't close up behind us.” Arle explained, moving to begin incanting. Runic symbols began to appear on the ground underneath her, and the wind seemed to shift as reality convulsed slightly at the grasp of her metaphorical hand upon it. A couple of minutes later, a tear in the fabric of reality opened on the ground in front of them to reveal...

...Subspace...

Arle moved to the edge. “I've opened a more direct path through subspace. It should stay open for a few hours.” Arle explained, gesturing inside. Inside, the trophies of strange subspace creatures could be seen scattered all over the place. A long and strange path laid ahead of them. Just then, a familiar knight could be seen creeping over the hillside, apparently having tracked the girls down. “...There is no escape.” the knight growled out. Arle cried out in alarm. “Woah! Let's go quick!!” Arle blurted out, tugging on Zelda's hand and urging her to jump with her into the portal and start running!

...Archan just kind of shrugs, deciding to run off in an entirely different direction. There was no way that knight would choose the smallest gal to hunt, right? ...As Zelda and Arle descend into subspace, they discover... that the path forward... is lined with trophies. Thinking little of this, Arle rushed forward with Zelda, stepping past them. However, to her horror the trophies animated on their own and a primid attempted to grab at her! Arle shrieked in alarm, blasting the primid back with a burst of fire before making a break for it. Several other trophies began animating before them however, the subspace army itself rising to block their path. “--This isn't right! Subspace is always empty!” Arle remarked in a panicked tone.

With some distance between our heroines and the hero who sacrificed himself to save them from the dinosaur, Zelda stopped to catch her breath. The fragility of her state, however, soon caught up with her.
Lungs crying for fresh, un-poisoned air, Zelda could only wheeze and signal with her hands to warn Arle that Archan was right behind her. This was all in vain, as her daughter got spooked either way.

Zelda could only face palm and abruptly begin coughing at Archan’s passive mention of Zelda’s bird. Her eyes widened and focused desperately upon Archan, fighting to suppress the coughs enough to ask the same questions Arle thankfully did for her.

Her coughing escalated into a violent choke at the implication that something bad might have already happened to her precious bird. She’d have strangled more information out of Archan if she weren’t trying so hard to focus on not suffocating herself. But even if she could, there was not a second that could be wasted on something like that. They had to move Now!

Zelda would’ve much rather had Fi dowse the location of her Loftwing rather than the temple it Might have been held in, but she was not thinking clearly enough to realize this. She nearly blindly marched in the direction she thought the Fire Sanctuary was, if Fi’s dowsing abilities hadn’t disconfirmed its location. been the sacrifice to a demon summoning before. It was below them. Under their feet, in the bowels of the volcano. Only then did it hit Zelda that indeed it was only the entrance she remembered that was at the summit of the volcano, but the sacred flame was deep within its base. Would they have to borrow two pairs of Mogma Mitts and dig there? She was willing.

Luckily, the swiss army mage that was Arle had a spell to get around this too.
…There was no way Zelda was going to jump into a place that looked made out of Starvia… If her Loftwing weren’t on the line. In this case, she needed no second urging to dive in.
As worried as she’d normally be for Archan’s safety, in this moment it felt more like good riddance. Despite having seen the monsters take Zelda’s Loftwng away, she hadn’t promised to be any more of a liability to the mission had she tagged along.

“I’ve heard legends of those people…” Zelda mused aloud, having finally overcome her cough and regained her breath. “…How they plunged into enemy territory and saved their homeland.” She reminisced upon what she had heard about the the war against the Subspace Army. “And how they traveled the breadth of the land, reducing all they touched to rubble.” She remembered, eyeing the trophies as they passed them. “This must be that place…” She deduced, comparing it to everything she had heard.

“Always empty? How many times have you been here before?” Zelda asked as the trophies sprung to life, blocking their path.

Zelda could only groan, more in frustration than in distress as she pulled her Goddess Harp from her adventure pouch.
Practically shredding the notes to the melodic spell Eldin’s Fire, she bid to ignite and burn the electric cloud, the mad ram and the flying one-eyed fish.

She did not expect this to be enough to take down the latter three nor the beam sword wielding Primid, so Zelda followed this act by unsheathing her very own version of the Goddess Sword.
When was she going to mention she had one of those?
“We don’t have time for this!” Zelda complained as she sliced through the Primid, Towtow and Feyesh one after the other in a display of swordsmanship befitting of a Skyloft Knight.

Samus sounded like she had a pretty well thought out plan to deal with these remaining moblins... but a plan that required specific and directed maneuvers just wasn't Shiya's style. No, he'd rather rush in head first and blast through any block puzzles in his path! Miyamoto be damned! "I got a better idea!" He jeered back at the space bounty hunter, reaching into his coat pocket full of way too many items before pulling out... a pokeball?!

"Plot device! I choose you!" The scarlet clad warrior shouted before yeeting the orb skyward; the object sailing several meters before landing in front of the shield Moblin. A red light streamed from the device once it popped open, revealing a digitized, red and blue duck-like pokemon. It's physic an odd texture and shape that resembled something of a 3d digital model before it promptly disappeared. "Fly my child." Shiya whispered before flipping backwards in an attempt to evade the corrupted enemy attacks.

Though jolted back a couple of meters by the moblin's immense shield, the impact managed to send the eccentric warrior just far enough to evade the more damaging piercing strike. Landing back onto his feet, Shiya slid back a few meters in the dirt before pointing his arm up towards the shield-carrying monster. Slowly, the teen bent his thumb and forefinger into the shape of a gun before... "Bang!"

Emerging out from it's digital space, Porygon 2 abruptly entered existence directly behind the Shield Moblin before attempting to impact it with a merciless tackle to the back. Let's try and see that shield work now!

13 STR Accuracy (Porygon 2 Tackle @ Infected Shield Moblin - must make their dodge using WIS instead of DEX. DMG 25%

"This is a Shiya-run. Don't catch you slippin' now!" Cockily, the magic-less mage blew the imaginary smoke off of his finger gun before dashing towards the remaining Archer Bokoblin in hopes of taking it down with a heavy swing from his homerun bat. "BATTER UP!"

Arle turned to glance at Zelda. “All the time! Usually there's not much in here, and I've never had trophies come alive like that before...” she mused aloud. She then gestured out toward one of the enemies in their path. “I'm pretty sure threatening someone's mom is a really big deal in some places.” Arle commented, furrowing a brow at Nightmare's antagonizism. She could see why, but she'd only had a Mom quite recently so it was a bit new to her.

“Ice Storm!!”

From Arle's fingers, a wave of snow and ice shot out, blowing through the wave of enemies and slaying several of them! She made sure not to direct it at Zelda as she swept her hand across the battlefield though.

The cloud monster solidified and fell to the ground in a block of ice along with the primid and the Feyesh. Only the wooly beast currently trying to take a bite out of Zelda managed to withstand the blast unfrozen. However, it seemed sluggish and weak after that attack. Arle's hands are very slightly cold-scorched from exposure to such extreme cold temperatures.

Seeing Zelda's sword, Arle did a double take and checked for her own. Had Zelda been going through her stuff and stolen it..? ...No. That wasn't it. It was right here. She rushed forward and joined her mother, awkwardly swinging at the beast like she was playing baseball. She definitely wasn't as weak or clumsy as some of her more feminine sisters, but what physical strength she did have was rather unrefined.

Most of her sword strikes found only fur and air. However the last one took the form of an awkward stab that managed to find the beast's hide. Arle swallowed nervously, before turning to Zelda and commenting on the obvious. “Your sword looks kinda like mine.” she remarked in confusion
