An empty field and a softly rumbling crowd awaited both teams. The field was covered in pretty green astroturf. Clay lanes created the famous baseball diamond around the pitching mound, which awaited the pokemon team's first pitcher. The umpires were already on the field, watching as stadium staff watered the clay lanes to soften them up a little and dragged specialized brooms across them to remove any pits from practice earlier. It was time for each team to take the field. They had only to decide who would be doing what first.1d2

A tiny dragon made his way to the pitching mound, much to the joy and perhaps excessive giggling of Iris nearby. The giddy champ clapped a bit as she watched Spyro in his rather goofy custom uniform flash a sly grin at home plate. "Looks like I've got work to do~" Spyro remarked, idly digging his claws into the mound to flatten it a bit for his comfort. "Hope you're ready to get scorched." the dragon continued to light-heartedly tease much to Iris' laughter and joy, pacing back and forth until he found his place. One of the umpires took a ball out and handed it to White, who promptly tossed it over to Spyro. Spyro made no effort to catch the ball, instead meeting it where it landed and bouncing it into the airs, where he promptly caught it in his mouth! His cheeks bulged outward and he took aim over home plate before violently spitting the ball out! It soared across the air, glistening with spittle. Yikes! When he said spitball, he wasn't kidding!

Shiya marched onto the field, grinning ear to ear dragging an appropriately titled "Homerun Bat" behind him along the dirt as he headed towards home-base. That's right, the illustrious leader of the Shiya Squad, Player number 420, was up to bat first. He had to set a good example after all?

He'd be lying if Shiya ever said that he didn't have his reservations about participating. After all, he didn't have his magic powers-of-clearly-scientific-origin anymore; his physical capabilities rivaled that of a highschool student who probably barely passed gym, and the pitcher was a FREAKING DRAGON? WHAT?! "Oh, come one!" The former-mage complained, gesturing wildly at Spyro as the admittedly small dragon prepped the ball in his mouth; a gesture that Shiya found disgusting, and dubiously rule-breaking! "Seriously, how is that even legal?!"

...nevertheless, he couldn't afford to lose face now. After all, as Shiya was reminded, glancing back at the dugout where the rest of his team would reside--this wasn't just about him. He had to make this a good time for all of his friends in the Shiya Squad, Chell and Warle included and the latter especially, considering how despondent she was. Swallowing his qualms, the determined youth brought his bat up as he lined himself along the left-end of the plate--yelling out loudly as he pointed the wooden-instrument towards the sky.

"This one's gonna be a home-run!"

"Talk to the hand. Hehe~" Spyro replied, poking fun at Shiya's complaining. The four legged creature then promptly scooped up another ball off the ground, balancing it on his nose. "No ball this time, but this next ball will send you 'running home' alright~" Spyro went on to quip before popping the ball into his mouth and taking a ready stance. He then spat another slobbery ball right out to Shiya!

...Okay, so that first swing was a major flop. "..." His cheeks burned a deep red in embarrassment as the pitcher ridiculed him. Really Spyro? Come on, that's just childish. "I-I meant this one!" Shiya hastily reiterated, trying to salvage his dignity in front of the stadium crowd as he once more prepped for the next pitch. This time, as Spyro once more spat out a spit-covered ball at him, the former mage was able to get a good look at how slimy the projectile was.

"Wha-Ew!"

Somehow, in the midst of his cringe, Shiya managed to completely miss the timing of the ball without getting in a single swing.... By a random stroke of good luck though, Spyro's aim was just off enough to miss the strike-zone! Noticing his blunder-turned good fortune, the mage of course took the opportunity to gloat in the purple dragon's face. "Hah! With aim like that, maybe you should run home?"

"Just wait for me to step up to the plate and I will~" Spyro retorted, completely unfazed by Shiya's attempt at trash talk. Boi, I'm a 90s action hero! One liners are literally 90% of my lexicon! "See if you like it when I turn up the heat!" Spyro went on to sass before scooping up another ball. This time, when he spat it out at Shiya, it came accompanied by a burst of flames from his nostrils, propelling the now flaming ball faster and harder!

Shiya's eyes widened considerably as Spyro's flaming ball was now sent barreling towards him. Annoying trashtalk aside, that had to have broken some sort of rule, right? RIGHT!? Unfortunately, whether or not it did, nobody was likely going to say anything or rush in to protect Shiya. The former mage only had the option to hit it... but thankfully, once more it didn't come to it! His eyes following the ball closely in an uncharacteristically sharp detection, Shiya managed to read that the ball would miss his strike zone once more... and surprisingly it did!

Although at first a bit ruffled by the flaming baseball, it didn't take long for the youth to recover with a cheeky grin. You may embody the 90s' witty one-liners, but I've got the power of indiscriminate memes from across the ages! "OHHHH! WHERE YOU AT! WHERE YOU AT!" Shiya quite loudly gloated, jumping and pumping his back up and down as the second ball was called. ...honestly, at this point, he's just asking to be struck out.

Spyro looked around in confusion as Shiya celebrated. He waited for a moment, just kinda letting the awkwardness of the situation hang in the air. "Uuum... I think you're supposed to jeer after you hit the ball." Spyro remarked rather pointedly. Shiya hadn't actually done anything! He'd just stood there and let Spyro miss the plate! The umpire soon tossed Spyro a new ball. "Hope you weren't planning on running all the way to home on a swing like that~" Spyro cheerily remarked, scooping the ball into his mouth before spitting it out again! Every ball was a spitball when he was at the plate.

"Hehe. I'm a real sharpspitter. Don't think I can't throw the ball over the plate just because I don't have hands~" Spyro remarked as the previous ball flew past the base uncontested. Perhaps Shiya had thought it was closer to the edge--but nope! A nice, clean strike. "--I love you!!" Iris squealed from the field behind Spyro, her eyes full of delight at the sass he was dishing out. A shiver visibly ran down Spyro's spine and he glanced over his shoulder, shooting Iris a look that suggested he wasn't amused by her choice of words. "--Hehe. Sorry." Iris relented rather bashfully. She knew by now that he didn't like that kind of attention. Scooping a new ball up into his mouth, Spyro engaged in a staring contest with Shiya. Look at the fire in his eyes. The deep and piercing stare of a dragon who wasn't about to let him get away with running to first. Those eyes, deep and dark, inhuman... --Coolshades? When did he put on shades?! How?! Spyro is wearing shades now. Deal with it.

Just like the ball he spat while he thought Shiya might be distracted. It soared through the air, slobbery as ever, threatening to take Shiya out of the game if he weren't cautious. Careful Shiya, that ball was slippery.

Shiya kinda zoned out during that last pitch... which is not really something that a person should do in the middle of a baseball game when they're the one batting! He winced, just hearing the umpire call out the strike making the former-mage cringe. "Okay... focus..." Shiya narrowed his eyes, holding the bat straight and secure as Spyro wound-er... spit up(?) for his next pitch.

This one could get him out of it completely... which meant that the swing had to be perfect. Thankfully, it looked like the meme master wouldn't have to bat; as he caught the ball just barely glancing off of his strikezone. It took a lot of self-restraint... but Shiya managed to not swing at it at all; but this time on purpose! Unable to restrain himself completely though, and a bit overconfident after that narrow miss, Shiya couldn't help boasting a bit. "You sure? Looks like you need a hand, buddy!" He jeered, sticking his tongue out at the dragon while prepping for the next pitch. Either way it went down, this was gonna be the last pitch.

. . . Spyro grit his teeth for a moment. "Sounds like the kinda thing that'd keep you up at night." Spyro remarked. "Thing is, I'm not all about that! So you're just gonna have to take it by the tongue~" Spyro went on to remark, scooping up a new ball and drawing in a big breath. This time, he jumped into the air for a better position and spat the ball so hard it forced him to somersault backward in the air! The ball raced toward Shiya, covered in flames!

Sirens went off as Shiya was removed from the field. The umpire was furiously putting out the flaming spitball Spyro has just spat at Shiya but kicking clay at it and stomping on it. "...Harsh." Iris remarked, rather unnerved from her position from behind Spyro. "Hehe, ...whoops! I closed my eyes for a moment. Guess I must've hit him instead." Spyro awkwardly remarked. Leaning into frame, White was decisively unimpressed by the display. "...Wait what? ...Those are police sirens." White corrected.

"Police Sirens?" Chell heard the noise as Shiya was putting up a... rather embarrassing display. "... Idiot. A wanted man playing a live sport... I guess that's why I came though. Sailor Portal: Transform!" Chell declared as she was consumed in a bright light. Soon a girl appeared behind Shiya in a sailor outfit. "I think you need to go rest in a secret place for a bit. See you soon, Shiya~!" and with that, a portal opened up and warped their team captain away. Now that the evidence is gone... "Tada~! Sailor Portal is here to bat a homerun! Baseballs beware, the power of love and unity compel you!" the mysterious sailor scout of Unity declared as she held her hand out and materialized a... oddly hi-tech looking baseball bat. Being white with a orange and blue circle on the end. "Super Duper Bat of Team Sport will hit it out of the park!" She declared in a really enthusiastic manner... Was this girl even on the register?

Sailor Portal has jumped in to bat in the name of friendship!

"Woooow~! She is so cute!" Black remarked from the dugout area, just beyond the sidelines. She was wearing a rather revealing cheerleader's outfit, complete with pom poms and... White's name emblazoned on the chest. "Oh my gosh, that looks awesome~!" Iris gushed, her eyes lighting up with stars. The two girls marveled over Chell's outfit for a moment, trying to imagine how well they could pull the look off themselves. "Uh... Right. ...Gotta blast~!" Spyro anxiously remarked, trotting off the pitcher's mound. Nnnope. Get him away from that genki magical girl. Looking around, White shrugged helplessly before turning to Bianca. "Hey, I'm going to give pitching a shot alright? I'll be right back here to keep you company once I'm done." White quietly remarked, passing Bianca a rather amiable smile before marching out to the pitcher's mound! "Aaaah~!" Black squealed, watching White take the pitcher's mound. "Between the pitcher's mound and home plate, I don't know if I can handle all of this cute~!" Black announced, gushing rather hard where she stood.

White blanched, glancing over herself ...But she wasn't even wearing anything particularly flattering! She supposed these pants did hug her form a bit, but really? Black began reciting a rather silly cheer from the sidelines, accompanied by dancing. She struck a very flattering pose at the end of it, flashing White a rather inviting wink accompanied by laughter at the absurdity of her own routine. White's cheeks turned a bit pink as she watched, momentarily captivated. She got the very distinct impression Black was flirting with her a bit during that chant. She quickly tore her mind from it, shaking her head as if to literally free the thoughts from her skull. "...Well, I don't think I have it in my heart to disappoint my friends. Nice outfit, by the way~!" White relented, unable to pretend she wasn't into the style--even if she had questions about how you were supposed to run in a skirt that short. She then passed one more bright smile over in Bianca's direction, followed by Moon's. Shifting lower, she wiggled her hips slightly, pounding the ball into her glove while eyeing Chell competitively. Just like that, she'd slipped into game mode and was no longer self-conscious.

Moon was kind of just staring in awe at the girl that put herself onto home base. She had weapon names and the outfit! And the weapon gimicks! She had the catchphrases! "It's an authentic magical girl!" Moon squealed after a moment. Her fangirling finally catching up to her mouth as she was admiring more than just the outfit. "Never would of guessed an Alolan would be so into that," Bianca inquired, though the outfit was pretty nice all things considered. "I was born in Kanto. Besides, this is so awesome no matter how you look at it!" Moon continued... clearly getting way too hyped. "Hehehe~, guess you have a point. Good luck, Touko! Show her your pitching!" Bianca went to cheering on her close friend. Trainers were good at throwing by trade so she should do fine.

"Oh right, silly me. Forgot to show my team spirit. Hold on!" Sailor Portal said before closing her eyes to make a Pi symbol appear on her bat and outfit. The number that was assigned to Chell by Shiya. "That's so cool!" Moon... seemed more easy to impress than usual. "Thanks~! I made it myself! Not bad yourself! Could be a bit more frillier though," the 'authentic' magical girl replied with a twirl before steadying her bat.

However, despite the power of Unity giving her high perceptive skills, she was not exactly that good at preceiving baseballs and swung way too late. "Oops, I missed. Nice pitch and I admire your attitude, but I can't disappoint my friends either~!" she declared. Moon meanwhile was still watching with stars in her eyes.
