((Hi! Welcome to the Tough Love challenge. This is an open challenge where you get to pick your opponent(s) from the choices I give you! Careful though, these damsels will require a bit more force to put in distress than you might expect. You can pick up to two, if you're looking for a team battle.))

There are a group of young ladies hanging out in the arena! One of them, the blonde in the pink dress, is sporting the stadium champ's belt. It looks like they're waiting for someone to show up, likely for a fight. While they wait, they're casually talking to each other. Not the most exciting entry, but the audience needed breaks to get food and drinks anyway. Upon someone showing up in the arena, the group of gals would stop what they were doing to observe, presenting themselves for challenging. After all--there were four of them. They couldn't all fight, right? ...Well, that would be unprecedented anyway. One could certainly try, if they had a team of their own or were looking to make a bunch of girls angry by insisting they could take them all at once.

"I think a little fun might be in order, so I arrive from the bowels of hell in order to confirm something, it matters not if I win or lose, but to have fun with a little child. A chilling voice said, said voice could be heard by all those currently present in the arena, but they could not prepare for what was to come...

A fog so thick that it obscured all vision and could be cut with a knife, and when the fog dissipated, in front of the four girls stood the one and only person who wanted to confirm his 'suspicions' on soething. This person was actually the specter known as Death, and he was in a good mood today, despite his first victory in this very arena, his skeletal finger pointed to Little Arle, since his suspicions were directing him to face her in a fair fight with no others getting in the way of the crossfire. "Child, do me this honor by having a little fun with me for roughly 5 turns, no more, no less. I wish to confirm something and would like your cooperation on this. And I would like it if said fight was not for that shiny belt the pink princess has on her person." Death said, his gaze focused on Little Arle and ignoring the other three girls.

And then Death appeared, immediately drawing some startled looks from everyone that recognized him. That is to say, everyone but Iris. Woah woah woah who was supposed to die again?? When Death pointed out Arle, an all but petrified Peach stoicly shielded the tiny mage with her body. Saying no to death usually didn't end well--just ask the many people who had failed in their pursuit to immortality. However, as spooked as Peach was she wasn't just going to stand by and let death take a baby from them. That was just too much for her to stomach. Lolling her head at the courageous display, Iris leaned in to offer her thoughts. "I think he means a stadium match!" Iris remarked, drawing Peach's attention. "...Oh!" Peach awkwardly replied. Well, she supposed that wasn't so bad then. She stepped aside and pat Arle on the head.

The tiny mage looked up at Death and chuckled nervously. "Hehe, alright~! I haven' fought a skeletin since mmmm... my kindergarden final exam." Arle replied, seeming to overcome her anxiousness and embrace the fight. Balling her hands, she stepped forward and smiled brightly. "Less' do it~!" she enthusiastically remarked, leaving the other girls to wonder what exactly it was Death wanted to confirm.

The Lightning American’s boots echoed through the stadium as the sole grinded on the gravel. The audience for the match began to trickle in as the news quickly hit the streets. Death challenges another little girl to a duel, but not just any little girl, Little Arle. The Sunshine Stadium addicts couldn’t keep away, some day those ticket stubs might be worth a fortune, better yet, it will complete their collection! News spread like a disease, so much so that a plane zoomed over the stadium with a banner that advertised their fight. It was no mere plane though, it was essentially a flying barrel with biplane parts slapped around it.

“WOAH! I can’t believe it took me this long to get this sweet ride pumpin’ again! I can’t even remember how it got damaged in the first place!” the funkiest of the Kong family proclaimed as he continued to perform barrel rolls. At a moment notice though, his shade reflected the confrontation between Death and Arle. “Ey! Those two seem to be in need of a funky monkey right about now!” In that instant, Funky Kong’s barrel plane took a nosedive, plummeting toward the Sunshine Stadium with magnificent speed. “Eyo! Look out down below!”

As Lt Surge stopped in his tracks, he began to investigate the arena. He’s worked at the stadium for far too long to not realize that a referee doesn’t just simply walk into the stadium without hijinks following in their wake. By the time he heard the engine of the biplane, it was far too late to do anything about it. He gazed upward in vain, starring directly at the aircraft, the propeller being a mere two feet from his face. “Of course” he lamented as the plane crashed and promptly exploded.

From the rubble, leapt a mighty ape, performing the chest pounding that their family was known for and then displaying his pearly whites with pride. “Here I come, Banana Slamma! Yo my dudes and dudettes! It is I, the hip chimp! The funky monkey! I’mma here to lay the smack down on all yah brains with the rules of the Sunshine Stadium! No items, no outside help, no worries for five minutes! I think that covers e’erything because if I’m not mistaken, yah big bangers* are allowed in this match, are they not!?

“Funky Translator: big bangers means Final Smashes.”

“Thank you, Omo Chao! I sometimes forget you’re part of the crew!” the smooth simian announced as he adjusted his sunglasses. “So, unless somebody says that’s whack, let’s start up our attack!”

"This is gonna be good, Tomoko Obel was practically a warm up for me, so I hope you can give me a good challenging fight. Best to think on the fly as well." Death said calmly as a Barrel Biplane crashed into the arena and announced the arrival of Funky Kong, who then proceeded to explain the rules... At least until the final confirmation to which death would make his notion heard to the sunglasses wearing ape.

"You might want to look at the rulebook for sunshine stadium more closely, Mr. Monkey, because while you were on hiatus fixing up that plane of yours the rule for final smashes to be used is now religated to special rules only, and are not allowed in professional or grudge matches. I bet even Lt. Surge would agree with me unless this match were a special rules match and I was not informed despite my nigh omnipotence." Death casually stated as he swapped his absurdly sharp stainless steel ultra-hardened sinister scythe made of the same materials as the walls of the sunshine stadium for one made of very durable plastic, which was not as lethal as the original but still potent and not as sharp, plus he did not want to consume the soul of a child in the middle of a fight, that would prove to be as stupid as all hell.

Death was quite ready regardless and gave a gentlemanly bow to Little Arle so as to show her respect, Lawful Evil alignment or not he was anticipating the inevitable battle.

((Hey G&W! For your convenience, I figured I better let you know that Little Arle was recently revamped. The mechanics for her transformation can be found under Regular Arle's special attacks now, on the off chance you ever find yourself questioning an attack's damage or her stats, which the transformation effects. Also, Zero happens to be right. Because they tended to be very polarizing, final smash is now a special match option that is disabled by default.))

Arle just kinda gave Death a rather blank, confused look. After a moment, she turned about and tugged at the base of Peach's dress to get her attention. "Mooom..? What's he saying..?" Little Arle softly asked in a frustrated tone. She couldn't even pronounce some of those words he was using, let alone grasp their meaning. The meaning behind what he'd said had been entirely lost as she tripped all over herself trying to keep up. Reaching down, Peach gingerly pat Arle's head to calm her down. "He means no Bayoen." Peach softly reassured, deciding not to try and define all the various words she could safely assume Arle didn't get. "Or any of your other final smash spells. That's all." Peach went on to clarify, and just like that Arle's frustration vanished. "Oh! Tha's okay with me." she replied, turning back to face Death. "I do believe it will make for a better show." Peach mused aloud before moving away to join the stands with the other girls that hadn't been picked to give the combatants some room. "Ready, Mr. Funky Monkey~!" Arle enthusiastically remarked, waggling her fingers in a clumsy little wave to the judge to indicate that the rules had been clarified and agreed upon. Good thing Funky Kong had asked, though! That would've been an odd thing to find out mid-match, especially if it involved torturing Little Arle with Death's final smash.

Even as he was corrected, Funky Kong kept his trademark grin and gazed back at the grim reaper, adjusting his sunglasses. “Take it easy Death Dude, they don’t just give out these ref approved shades to anyone. If anyone knows the Sunshine Stadium rules, it would be this hip chimp, right Surge my man?” he retorted, looking back to the burning wreckage of his barrel plane. After a few crackles of fire broke the silence, he looked back to the two contestants. “I rest my case.”

In the meantime, Omochao pulled a massive rule book from its hammer space and began to flip through pages as the Kong of Funk reassured the two that he was right. An exclamation mark grew atop its head, much like a real chao would and turned the text around so everyone could see the proper ruling. “Actually, they’re right, Final Smashes are only allowed in Special Matches. Neither the challenger nor the initiator need to specify their use.”

A look of dumbfound grew upon the gorilla’s countenance. “Great golden banana! They changed the rules again! It seems like they change the rules every time I ref one of these matches! How’s a monkey supposed to keep up with these changes?”

“MC Ballyhoo hosts a seminar every week for updates to the Sunshine Stadium. I schedule you in for next week.”

“Weekly seminars!? Why’s this the first time I’ve heard of this!?”

“Oh! It looks like you’re on the short list of judges who aren’t allowed to attend.”

“Ah! They must think my coolness is too much to be contained in a board room, who else is on this list?”

“It’s just you, in big red font”

“What!? Now this has got may bananas in a bunch! No more delays though, we gotta make like a banana and split! These funky fighters gotta get their groove on!” Funky Kong announced as he grabbed Omochao’s stubby leg. The robot’s propeller faltered slightly from the excess weight, but with a boost of power, the two took off from the battlefield, allowing the two to duke it out.

"I think it be time to get this show on the road, and since the Gates of Hell are closed, I'll introduce you to my Orb of Gahena." Death said with calm indifference, suddenly doing just that... Launching a jet black sphere with an underhand toss to try and give Little Arle a DEX debuff in addition to the mediocre damage he could hit her with.
WIS ROLL: 13+1=14(decent Orb of Gahena @ Little Arle, 5% dmg and -2 DEX if it connects)

However, he would shake things up by performing a REVERSE GRIP Deathscythe attack so as to see if His opponent can keep on their toes, said reverse grip being done as a means to not give his competition a big gash across their chest.
STR ROLL A: 10+1=11(slightly average Deathscythe @ Little Arle, 20% Dmg if it connects)

Then finished up by sending out two sickles to give Little Arle some minor cuts.

Death would then perform some juggling with even more of his sickles to give the crowd something to mull over.

Little Arle was busy trying to remember what the gates to hell looked like, rustling through some memories that were technically hers but felt entirely alien to her, when she encountered a big scary demon! AAAA! She quickly shifted to clutch at the neck of her dress in an anxious manner. ...Why was he asking her to marry him? She was only five, but she was pretty sure that this was not how love worked. She quietly noted that the man looked familiar, but that she'd forgotten his name. He would be known as 'Stupid' until she remembered. Arle was forced to abandon that train of thought just before things started getting violent and crazy though, as some actual violence was headed her way! "Waaah!" Arle blurted out, lunging out to get away from the orb at the last moment!

"GWEH!" Arle shrieked as she was ...smacked by Death's pole and cut up a bit by two little scythes. While this avoided staining the arena with too much blood, it certainly left a rather painful bruise unseen by the audience. The tiny mage recoiled into a cringing position, just sort of standing there for a moment as the pain washed over her. She then cracked a golden eye open and leered at Death, not quite understanding his act. Lowering her arms from where they'd been shielding her face, she promptly threw her fists at the ground and huffed. Well, now she just looked mad! Or well, she did for a moment. And then she promptly got over it and smiled at Death. "I feel great, 'cause I'm really eager t' try out thees new spells I learned!" Arle announced, unfazed by her cuts. One could not help but get the impression that this particular kindergartner was used to pain. ...Better try a time out instead. "Mind Blast!" Arle incanted, going straight for Death's head to disorientate him with the painful ... Let's just call it a headache. It's much prettier than mind melting imagery.

Arle then promptly followed up by throwing her hands forward!

"Holy Lace-er!"
Arle incanted, a ball of light forming between her outstretched hands. It quickly burst forth at incredible speeds, resembling a laser. It had heavy penetrative forces, likely passing straight through the stadium wall. Yikes! That's some serious punch she was packing.

The tiny mage then followed up by rushing toward Death at a frenzied pace, bouncing once, twice and then a much higher bounce higher into the air! She'd just jumped several times her own height to meet Death where he hovered! But well... Look at those tiny little hands! And those tiny little feet! It might not be clear what exactly she intended until she twisted about and thrust her backside out, attempting to hip check Death!

What looked like a rather goofy, if not outright playful attack would end in an explosion of magical hearts potent enough to send Death flying through the recently created hole in the stadium wall! Landing not long after, Arle stumbled as she regained her balance before presenting the crowd with a smile that suggested she was proud of herself.

"Yay! I aced it~!"

Iris lolled her head at the scene, turning her head to look up at Peach. "...Did you teach her to do that?" Iris curiously asked. "I absolutely did~! I believe in you, Arle!" Peach proudly replied, waving her hankerchief encouragingly so that Arle could pick her out from the crowd.

“…No one can see where you’re pointing. Also, no one let him in, he fell out of the sky.”

“Well you better tell them that they’re walking a tightrope over the unemployment line! I never trusted the skies above Li! Is there a sun or isn’t there a sun!? We can’t trust something that won’t give us a straight answer!”

“I’ll get on that… How would you like me to deliver this message?”

“Paper airplane of course! Is there any better way!?”

“Nope. You got me there… Oh hey, looks like Death is challenging an even younger opponent. I can’t wait for him to take on a baby next week…”

“That’s no toddler, Big Top! That’s Little Arle! Arle’s daughter!”

“That… can’t possibly be true. Who just puts ‘little’ in front of their name and passes that off as a suitable name for their child?”

“Don’t be so quick to cast stones, Big Top! Your cousin is named Little Top!”

“Nephew.”

“That’s what I said!”

“Anyways, that’s different. Top is my surname, so of course his name is going to end in Top.”

“Ah! Wait, your last name is Top!? I didn’t know you had a last name!”

“I don’t know, do you think I understand my species anymore than you?”

Death was actually having the time of his life here, to the point that he was just plain excited to have another opponent to play with, even with his presence still lacking, the souls of the dead still lingered and wanted to be ferried on to the here after for their eternal rest. In the meantime, those souls got to have a real treat in seeing this battle.

Death in the meantime was adjusting himself to the arena more, allowing himself to have a bit of leniency in his own duties. When a Mind Blast spell came at him, iliciting his need to dodge and avoid the spell.
DEX ROLL A: 17{not a bad roll if I do say so myself.}

He managed to avoid the spell with all due haste, but another spell would be coming his way, and this spell was a holy elemental attack! Death would dodge this one since holy magic is borderline devastating to the undead.
DEX ROLL B: 19{close call...}

And dodge he did, only to notice that Little Arle had attempted to perform a hip check on him that he could not dodge outright, but rather than dodge the attack, emmited a spectral bubble shield around him as a ghastly aura to mitigate the damage.

"Not bad for a little one like you, thank goodness for not having healing moves on hand. But either way, I guess it's time to make some mischief and ponder." Death said with sadistic glee, suddenly becoming invisible to even up the playing field and make the fight even more chaotic than ever before.

Death activates the Invisibility cloak. Death is now invisible for two turns against attacks that are either Physical or technology-based, cooldown in effect.

Death then began moving at erratic speeds to disorient Little Arle all while using the plastic Scythe to try to get a sample of her blood.

Death would still continue attempting to disorient Little Arle and when the invisible Reaper was behind her, would attempt to place an Orb of Gahena down the back of her dress.

Death would then continue making his Erratic speed to keep moving and threshing any weeds that were growing near the walls of the arena.

In the stands on either side of Ballyhoo's location, Slogra and Gaibon were watching their master fight, eyes focused on Funky Kong with intent to trophify if he so much as tried to enter the commentators booth while they were on guard duty, after all this was their shift and they swapped out with the Gerudo guards with each shift in guard duty and it just so happens that this was the very shift that they got to see their boss actually having a good time with an opponent and let loose with the fun.

Arle became distracted by a familiar voice. It was so exciting and full of energy! --Well, one of them was anyway. It made her want to smile. ...Could the sky have a son? She wondered if maybe Pit was the sky's son. Or was the sky's son a cloud? Thinking about it led her to a place of more questions than answers. She'd never spoken to a cloud before. Continuing the theme of Arle trying and failing to understand what was being said, she heard several familiar words used in a way she'd never heard before, a way that didn't quite make sense. First she heard her name! Then she heard her name again! And then ...daughter? Well, she didn't understand that implication at all but she did understand that she was a daughter. Arle looked up, searching for the vague direction she was hearing the voices from. "You know my mom?" Arle eagerly asked, forgetting for a brief moment that she was in a battle. Boy, she missed her mom. However, soon enough Death grabbed her attention again before... disappearing? Did he just leave? No wait! She could see ... something! In the air, moving toward her! Wait, what?

Arle squealed in alarm as she suddenly became the victim of ... a cut on her face. Huh? That felt like it barely hit her. Regardless, it really stung and was bleeding quite a lot! And that just steamed Arle's biscuits. Furrowing her brows, she raised her hands in a combative manner and began searching for where Death had gone! ...Only for him to try sneaking up behind her.

Thankfully, there was not ready access to Arle's collar. She had a full head of hair, after all! She could feel a finger sifting through it, brushing at her neck as it fished for the back of her dress. The baby magician was understandably spooked by this sensation. It reminded her of some schoolyard pranks, which in turn led her to jump forward with a yelp to escape Death's grasp! She spun around and pouted a bit in frustration. "Hey! I..." Arle began to blurt out in defiance, only to notice that Death was ...cutting the grass. Arle watched this for a moment, questioning what kind of act this was before an idea occurred to her. The grass was only growing on the outskirts of the arena, making it easy for Arle to tell where Death would be a moment from now. He'd be cutting the weeds further down, of course!

"Gwoaf!" Arle incanted, focusing on the weeds in Death's path and conjuring a stream of nature magic between them and herself. The weeds abruptly burst from the ground, growing rapidly into prickly briars covered in thorns. The vine-like branches they grew into lashed out at Death, blocking his path and moving to wrap around him! They'd quickly dig their thorns in, which turned out to be coated in a venom! Weed Whack.

Assuming the plants could get ahold of him, a brush would tug Death's robe back. "Star Storm!!" Arle incanted, conjuring up several magical 'stars' and launching them from the sky down at Death! One of them, the first, was aimed to plant itself firmly down the back of his robe, aided by the thorns pulling his hood back.

“OH! They’re tearing my precious Stadium apart! Whoa is me, Big Top! Those walls will take forever to repair! And they’re destroying my lovely weeds! Do you have any idea tender love and care I pour into those!?”

“…Isn’t the entire Stadium made of refined Nintendium? How could they possibly break it?”

“Do you have any idea how much it costs to upkeep refined Nintendium!? Not to mention the smell of that stuff on a hot summer day! I had that stuff refurbished a long time ago!”

“I’m sure it doesn’t cost nearly as much as having to rebuild the Stadium constantly…”

“That is the most blindly optimistic thing I’ve ever heard you say, Big Top! Also, completely false!”

“…I’d argue against that if I didn’t already know you handle the financial reports…”

“Your sass jar is next on the list for budget cuts, Big Top! Oh hey, one of the combatants are waving to us, Big Top! AH HA HA HA! Of course we know her mother, you remember when we met her, right Big Top?”

“…We’ve met Arle before?”

“Of course! Remember that one time!”

“…That one time what?”

“You know, that one time!”

“Usually when you say ‘remember that one time’ you follow that up with a reference to what happened so I have an idea of what we’re talking about.”

“The one time that we met Arle!”

“…That helps a lot…”

Death would continue his playing despite being pestered by the fact that Ballyhoo's nonsensical ramblings made little to no sense to his non-existent ears. Thankfully he had little Arle for his opponent, who had caused some weeds to try and grab him, unfortunately for the monster sized weeds, Death was ready and had his Scythe spinning like a even more monsterous lawn mower blade to try to get away...
DEX ROLL: 7{had to roll low... Damn}

Unfortunately Death could not get out of the way in time and he got himself ensnared, he could not risk making himself a pincushion, but his skeletal frame was useless in this situation, and if that wasn't enough, his opponent had just caused it to rain Freaking stars in the arena, and they were heading his way. "And me without my umbrella..." Death said under his breath. Taking the blow like a freaking champ and causing the grapple to end, as well as death's invisibility cloak to be broken

What Death did next was quite unexpected by anyone in the arena, he simply converged on Arle's position and instead of hitting her hard, rolled two black spheres of icy magic like bowling balls at little Arle's feet, hoping to get her feet cold and wet.

"Now this is a good match for the ages, though I may literally old enough to be the uncle of all the people who live here, it doesn't excuse the fact that I wasn't around for the massacre of that black horn body-suited freak. p_1d20+3 (Arle's Orb of Gaheena Dodge--And here I thought she'd get hit by the accurate one!)

Arle attempted to leap over the orbs with her mighty ribbit boots! And she did, performing a superhuman leap a well above her admittedly very short height! Or well, she dodged one of them anyway. Hopping over the orb with an enthusiastic "Yeah!" Arle chirped, only to notice at the last moment that she was headed right toward the second orb! "Woah!" Arle blurted out in alarm, flailing about as she landed on the orb and promptly flopped right on her face with a thud and an "Oof!" ...Standing back up, she shivered in discomfort. "Das willy c-c-cold..." she whined softly, only to perk up slightly at Death's words. Her brows furrowed at one particular choice of word.

"Battle of the...--?" Arle began to ask, only to stop and giggle in amusement. "Yeah, literally~" she announced, sniffling a bit to control her runny nose. However, what Death next asked bothered Arle. She ... died? She didn't remember dying. What was Death talking about? Following a suspicion, she began to search the memories of her older self. They were still there, readily accessible by her brain, but they felt so detached from who she was at that moment that they felt more like watching a movie in first person than her own memories. After a moment of soul searching though, she shuddered. Maybe it was because she was cold, or maybe it was because that memory was too traumatic and scary for a kindergartner to deal with. ...Maybe a bit of both.

"That's too scary!! I don't wanna think about it..." Arle softly protested, holding her arms out. "Fiya!" she incanted. Time to warm herself up! The fireball formed in her hands, growing in size as it thawed away the ice clinging to her body before being tossed at Death with considerable knockback!

"Thunda!!" Arle incanted, drawing a bolt of lightning from the sky to smite Death! For a little girl who was too scared to think about death, she sure had no trouble calling down the wrath of Zeus on a whim!
