Today Valorie found herself back in the arena for the first time in a long time. She was a human being again--better, even! But she only had one of her pokemon back. At least she had most of her self-confidence and self-esteem though! Dare she say it, but she loved her body! ...She supposed it was pretty dang easy to say that after going without for so long, but Valorie was perhaps not unwarranted in thinking highly of herself. She was quite the looker by many accounts, if not almost comically short for her age. One could see pretty readily that she was the type of person who dedicated a lot of time to her appearance, from her long wavy blonde hair to the light pink lip gloss she was wearing.

...Looks like that could make for a star in the coliseum, provided she could fight half as well as she looked. Princess Peach was testament to that. But Valorie? She'd been too depressed to even visit the Coliseum for a long time now. Standing there, with her hair and mini skirt fluttering in the wind, she had to admire how much nicer things looked. It seemed like they'd done some renovations. She might not be able to return home, but she could still chase her dreams here in the arena. She just had to hope that she and her pokemon hadn't gotten too rusty.

“Alright boy, this is it. Our first battle of the season!” The competitor ambitiously whispered to his pokéball. “Just stick to the plan and this match is as good as ours.” He the rolled the pokéball securely into his hoodie pocket and signalled the engineer to lift his platform into the arena.

“_5-6-7-8. Listen close, listen hard: You had best be on your guard.” The hooded trainer began to chant as he rose up into the arena, back facing the battlefield. “For no man nor mon hath gat upon the hope to test this expert bard.”
“What’s my name? I’m sure you heard. See my hoodie? That’s the word.”
He continued, dramatically turning around with his cap’s visor down and covering his eyes.
“Can’t see a thang, but this arena sounds Sure Full! Say it with me folks, The Name Is…” The trainer cupped his ears and lifted his visor to stare his opponent in… Her eyes?

Purple couldn’t believe his eyes. That was sure a lot of eyeliner for eyes already so blue… And lips so shiny and pink… Sure, he didn’t know who he was going up against ahead of time, let alone a girl, but he certainly wasn’t expecting a girl so… so… Beauteous! Even the Fairy Gym leader Valerie wasn’t as dolled up as this Fairy Tale Girl, and she dresses like a Meinshao!
She resembled a lush portrait painted on a delicately carved statue. A little shorter than the average Beauty, but the curvature of her hips said more about her maturity than the length of her legs did. From her boots to her beanie, her outfit more suited to win a Pokémon Contest rather than a Battle.
He could throw the match just for a chance to draw her standing there, skirt and hair fluttering in the breeze.
What? No! That’s crazy! Snap Out Of It, Bro!

“…Purple?” He choked anti-climactically. How long was he lost for? No time to wonder! Gotta recover Now! The rhymes he came prepared with were no good now. He had to do what ace trainers do best and improvise.
“Ehem... I-I see you’re rocking the best colour too! Not too shocking, since it looks good on-No I mean-Pardon my slippin’, you took me by surprise, I came here to win but I got lost in your-” No no no! You’re trying to intimidate her not woo her! Change the subject! Aw Why did she have to be a Girl?...
“I’m tough with the lyrics but the rhyme games start to bore me. Enough with your tricks, stop the mind games, Shorty!”

Just outside the stadium Valerie and Purple would hear massive cheering and chanting because of the entrance of the judge of this match, who just happened to be a world famous reporter, well space famous reporter who was known for her stylish dancing and saving space...Twice. The reporter strolled into the stadium with a strange being following from behind her as music began to play upon her clicking her fingers.



"Music, please."




The two figures revealed themselves to be Ulala and Hoorg. The latter was saved by the reporter after his race was enslaved by an evil overlord known as Blank and were brainwashed into...Dancing! But thanks to Ulala, he is now free and works as a news reporter like the pink haired female. Although in this case, he's going to help Ulala judge this match between the two trainers. 



"This is Ulala reporting live from the Stadium here in the fabulous sphere known as the Life Sphere, where after some remodelling and retooling, the stadium has been reopened and we fellow viewers are about to witness the first fight here today live on Space Channel fi---NOT SO FAST ULALA!"

Ulala gasped and looked up to see a blue helicopter in the sky, which a female figure appears from the top before making a dramatic landing on the stadium between Valerie and Purple...It was Ulala's rival.

The female smirked and took out a microphone.





"Hello beautiful viewers, it's me Pudding! Reporting from you live from Channel 42 where were witnessing the first fight between trainers Purple and Valorie Ryder ever since the stadium's reopening."




"Hey you can't take over this live battle. I was reporting first Pudding." Pudding ignored Ulala and walked towards Purple.



"Despite Valorie Ryder's pokemon, a viewer poll on the Channel 42 website that was recently posted revealed that half of my viewers expect this young man over here to come up on top today." Pudding turns towards Purple. "Sir, how do you feel that your going to win this fight?" She asked as she lowered her microphone so Purple can speak into it, only for Ulala to run up towards her.



"You need to leave Pudding, your just trying to focus your attention on yourself."



"Well, I guess my rival Ulala decided that it's high time she appears in some sort of cross over report from my station. Well you know what Ulala, i'll offer you a deal. If Purple here wins, you'll quit space channel five, but if Valorie over here wins, I have to quit my job at Channel 42. You got yourself a deal? That way our rivalry can finally end if one of us is out of a job!"




"We have a rivalry? Anyway...If it's to stop this once and for all then fine, i'll accept your deal." The two woman proceeded to shake each other's hands before turning towards Purple and Valerie. Hoorg meanwhile is watching from the stands, preparing to start the match once Ulala and Pudding tell the trainers the rules.



"So, before we begin the match let me ex---Let us, explain the rules. You see unlike most matches where the one that's hurt the most or faints loses, this match will be different."



"The match is point based, so whoever has the most points by the end of five minutes (Five turns) wins."



"We don't expect anyone to turn into a trophy or be knocked out, but if one of you two trainers try to do so then so help me i'll get out my guitar and blast you out of this stadium to kingdom come!"



"What Pudding is trying to say is. You will be disqualified if you try to tropihfy your competitor and it will be treated as if you forfeited the match."

The two woman then began to get into a pose.



"Anyway."

"Let Hoorg begin the match, while we be watching from that judge room over there!" Pudding pointed to a luxury room in a tower just in front of the battle arena as she and Ulala flew towards it with there jet packs.



Hoorg meanwhile stood between Purple and Valerie like what Pudding did earlier and held up his hands.

And with that Hoorg threw confetti in the air to start the match before running away so he doesn't get caught in the crossfire.

Valorie felt her chest tighten a bit with anxiety. What--...What was going on? Were those? Was he--? Was he singing awful pick up lines at her? Valorie flinched, doing her best to hide her discomfort. The insult was just the cherry on top that helped her stop feeling flustered and start feeling angry. Oh hell no! Are you sure you don't want to wait and get a job as a construction worker and throw in some wolf whistling before you go down this road, Purple? ...Y'know, so that when you're working on the second floor of that house you're building and Valorie walks by, she won't be able to reach your throat?

No? Well alright then~ You best hope the stars don't align and--oooh trubbish.

Is that bad to the bone?? I can't save you from this one, man. Game over.

Valorie flashed Ulala an appreciative smile. At least someone around here understood she was here to win a battle. And then there was this guy, flirting with her before he even knew who she was. Valorie turned her attention back to Purple and began to walk over to him in a rather disarming fashion. "Don't write me off as some piece of shortcake to be drooled over, Tall Dark and Handsome." Valorie remarked in a competitively playful sing-song tone, a note of restraint in her voice. The compliment didn't seem entirely sincere... "Every cake has its layers, no matter how short it is. And I think you'll find I'm made of 'more than you can chew'!" Valorie went on to lecture, taking on a more confrontational tone. She was now right in front of Purple. Her body language suddenly became confrontational as she whipped up an arm and leveled a finger right underneath Purple's chin, pointing up at his face. Her expression shifted, becoming visibly quite pissed off. "And another thing!" Valorie snapped, not waiting even a moment for Purple to get a word in. "Girls don't like it when strangers flirt with them! That's so RUDE!" Valorie remarked, jabbing Purple's chest rather pointedly. Valorie was standing up for womankind in front of an entire stadium! ...Sometimes it was hard to believe she was she was the same person now that she was human. Having her body back definitely gave her a bit of an attitude change.

"What'd'you think just because I look good that means I'm easy?? Am I just a pretty little present to be collected at the end of your conquest?? Maybe a little?? Somewhat??" Valorie went on to remark, not letting up. She was now just kinda barely-not-yelling at Purple. Seems he upset her pretty bad. "Well I've got news for you, sleezy. Because I have pokemon too! And if that's how you feel... you can..." Valorie began, casually tossing a love ball over her shoulder. ...A love ball? Oh no. You know what that's unsubtle symbolism for, don't you? Her voice now raised to a full on ferocious yell. ...As ferocious as a tiny girl's voice could be, anyway. She grabbed Purple's collar.

"Kiss!"

Valorie stepped forward and slipped a leg past Purple, planting it behind him and giving him a hard shove to forcefully trip him and make him fall onto his back.

"My!"

Valorie moved to step on Purple's chest to keep him down. H-Hey, should you really be standing over anyone in a tiny skirt like that Val? ...Eh. She was preeeetty confident he had much bigger concerns right now. Ain't nobody care about that. His gaze was probably locked on the boot on his chest--or on her angry face. But y'know how this ends, don't you? That's right. He stops getting a choice in the matter.

"Butt!"

And with a turn of her heel and a swing of her hips, Valorie pulled her legs out from underneath her and attempted to drop onto Purple and blot out the sun with her presence! ...And also squish him. Literally. With magic.

Meanwhile, an unusually quiet Tyrantrum just kinda watched as Valorie crossed her legs and pretended to admire her nails for a moment. Huh. So this was why he let Valorie train him. Sometimes he forgot she had a ferocious side. ...Weird. "Who's short now~?" Valorie would ask rather teasingly before she got back up, decisively having gotten most of her anger out of her system.

Judging by the cheering, it sounded like the crowd dug Purple’s flow. But listen closer, they weren’t cheering for him, they were cheering for the two new figures entering the stage. Maybe Purple didn’t to use the lift after all. One was a tall, stylish stunner clad in skirt and boots, and the other was a purple blob They weren’t, and the other was a mauve blob. Was there a comparison to be drawn here?
But they weren’t the only surprises, as now a blimp appeared hovering over the stadium. Down from the blimp came yet another space reporter! Now That’s an entrance. Purple wished he could afford that. This second newscaster was also clad in skirt and boots, but this dressed in blue with fishnet stockings. Two midriffs in one day? This was a lot for our poor boy to take in. And it wasn’t getting any easier, the blue one was coming his way! With a microphone.

“W-Wait d-did you say they think I’d win?” Purple stuttered into the mic, stealing his tongue back from the Meowth. “Sweet Helix, that is so Alpha! I don’t know what to say!” He modestly shrugged, legitimately overwhelmed “-Wait are on TV Now?” Before he could give a shout out to all his homies back in Hoenn, Ulala interrupted them. Wait were these two rival reporters arguing on air? Well this was the coolest thing on tv he was ever a part of.
D-did they just bet their jobs on this fight? Ouch. He appreciated the vote of confidence, but he didn’t feel they should let their careers ride on something like this. He didn’t want to let either of them down and for it to be his fault they lost their jobs! …Still makes great tv, though.

“So, this is like Catching a Pokémon then?” Purple asked to see if he understood the no knock-outs rule.
As Ulala and Pudding flew off to their judge’s room and Hoorg came and held up his hands, Purple’s mind was racing.
No trophifications and no fainting? This Is a Pokémon Contest! What did he get himself into when he signed the form! He Knew he should’ve let Nintenda check it twice for him!
Sure he had some flashy tricks up his sleeve, but he didn’t realize this was gonna be a trick-based match!
Looks like his and Kappineapple’s combined wits are gonna have to carry the team for this one…

Hastily fiddling through his hoodie’s pockets for his Ludicolo’s pokéball, Purple darted his eyes up to notice… His opponent was crossing the field toward him? Didn’t the match just start? What was she doing? Guessing by her stride was she going to wish him luck? Golly in that case- ‘Tall dark and handsome?’ he’d only ever been called two of the three before.
The closer she got, the faster Purple could feel his heart beating… But... he wasn’t sure if it was in the good way. Something felt insincere about this… Like the closer she got the less cordial and the more menacing she became. A double take later, she was staring him down and he was staring down at her. The aroma of her Castilliacone perfume was inescapable now. Sure, she was fair from across the field but close up, she was… well terrifying with that scowl. It was like staring a resting Jigglypuff, up close.

Was this her intimidation play? Well played, but not well played enough to turn him-Purple? Hello? Earth to-Aw man… She was jabbing him in the chest with her finger nails and raising her voice louder and louder. This was too much for a façade. She really was really mad at him!
Before he could take the breath to excuse himself, apologize or even ask what he said wrong, she produced a pokéball. Oh yeah. Pokémon. That was still a thing. Well nothing to fear lad, it’s a Love Ball. Knowing this girly-girl, it’s probably just a Guardevoir or Sylveon, or a Mawhile at worst. Nothing your team can’t handle-SWEET HELIX IT’S A TYRANTRUM!
Before he could take the breath necessary to yelp at the Despot Pokémon that sprung up behind her, he had to fear the despot dame in front of him!
“Kiss?-Oof!” a red faced Purple coughed as he was tripped onto his back with a boot on his chest. No time to guess what happens next. He barely got his vision to focus on her stepping on him when everything went black.

When he finally came to, he had to pry his head off the ground and peel his hat off a white flag before it was taken away from him. Flapping air into it and pulling it onto his head, it felt like he needed his hat to hold his head together. What happened? All he knew was pain from the chest up and all he could remember was… Her. The girl with the Tyrantrum.
Trainers aren’t supposed to hit trainers! How did she get away with that? Why didn’t the judges do anything? What was everybody cheering about?
He could still remember having qualms about bothering such a delicate Florges, but Congratulations you deceptive little Mawhile: you just made this personal. He should’ve bitten her when he had the chance… Why if he could get his hands on her now, he’d…he’d… He didn’t know What he wanted to do! What he did know, however, was that whatever he tried, that Tyrantrum of hers would grind him into a Sandygast! Something had to be done about him. …Right! It took him this long to remember he had Pokémon too? Must’ve gotten hit harder than he thought.

“Don’t think you’ve beat me just because you’ve seat me!” Purple growled for Valorie’s attention with a rare flavour of courage in his voice. “Purple announces tight facts until he makes his point: Purple bounces right back till his heart stops like a Spoink!”
While Purple’s original plan was to appeal by busting moves and grooves with his Ludicolo, he couldn’t just yet. He was in no mood for such merriment: They’d be too out of sync.
He Was in the mood however, for fighting with fire. Good thing he had the perfect Pokémon for it!

“Ladies and gents our guest tonight just might be out of order,” Purple announced to the crowd, raising a pokéball in his hand.
“But out this ball my duty calls the mon I cast toward her!” He wound up and pitched the ball like a grenade. It exploded and out burst a mighty Blaziken that towered above his trainer.
“Clucky, buddy, where you been? Meet my favourite Blaziken!” He proudly introduced Clucky to the audience more than his opponent. “His fist are fast, his kicks do hurt, and his fire Blast might singe your skirt.~”
Taking in a glance at the battlefield, the Blaziken peeked down at his trainer with eyes that asked (What? Already? Wasn’t Pinapple supposed to go first?...And what happened to You?) noticing the giant heart shaped bruise that painted his face. His trainer peeked back up at him with eyes that said (Change of plans.) and pointed his attention to Valorie and Rex. (Did They do that?) This didn’t make the Blaziken happy not one bit. His wrists caught fire just to show how much so.

“Clucky! Show these folks some firework like they never saw! Then Brick Break the Tyrantrum in his Fossil Jaw!” Purple grandiosely commanded his Blaziken.
“Blaziken!”
Clucky promptly cocked his head back and spewed embers into the air. They landed on the battlefield in a large ring, surrounding Valorie and Rex in a ring of fire together with him and Purple.
Then, taking a running start, Clucky bounded under Rex’s jaw and uppercut two Brick Breaks right into him.

As the fight began, Hoorg began to realise that the group were not the only people in the stadium. As the audience that was outside the stadium cheering for Ulala a few minutes ago quickly entered and filled up every single seat in the stadium, looking at the two trainers and began to cheer for them, with Valorie getting more cheers then Purple. However that is not to say that Purple's pokemon, Clucky isn't getting support from the audience either.

"Clucky, Purple, we love you, we hope you win!" One young boy called out, but Clucky's support was quickly covered out by chanting from Valories new fans in the audience. "VALORIE, VALORIE, VALORIE!" They all called out for the girl, which got Ulala's attention, who was reporting from the luxury room in the tower and is amazed at the fight so far.



"Pudding, you should come and see this!"



Pudding meanwhile was busy at the back of the room eating...Well pudding, and not seeming to care about the fight. She just wants Purple to win. "Just tell me when Purple wins the fight Ulala, then I can come and humiliate you and Valorie and her weird pokemon in the process for losing." Pudding replied before laughing and stuffing herself with pudding while Ulala just shrugged.



"Well, here is a recap so far as we reach our first minute of the match. Making a great start, Valorie landed a surprise attack on Purple by using physical violence instead of her pokemon so far, now that's what I call getting creative, and the audience thinks so too. As the support for Valorie is growing with each passing minute, but that's not to say Purple did a great job in the first minute as well with his pokemon launching a firey attack on Valorie and her pokemon, one of which appears to be a success. However Valorie and her pokemon will have to make sure to dodge the second attack Purple and his pokemon fired at them."

Pudding was still not listening to her.



"Also Purple and Clucky will have to try better then before if they want to get more points and win against Valorie in the next four minutes. Because so far, things aren't looking good for the two in terms of points so far."



"WHAT!?" Pudding quickly sped towards the edge of the tower and looked down at fight, gritting her teeth.




"Come on Purple, you can win this. For my viewers and my job!"

The sounds of Clucky's fists colliding with Rex could be heard across the stadium. He'd just stood there and took it! Barely moving to acknowledge Clucky, Rex just kinda blocked the attacks with his freaking face without breaking eye contact.

(" . . . The first time I saw fireworks they were terrifying. I thought we were under attack and raced off to confront whatever awful creature created such awful noise for 'fun'.") Rex murmured, his tone full of disappointment. "...How you move doesn't matter if you can't budge your opponent~" Valorie remarked with a wag of her finger, shaking her head in sync. "We'll move you to tears if you aren't careful! Show 'em, Rex!" Valorie remarked, striking a flourishing pose. On cue, Rex just kind of leisurely meandered his way in front of Valorie as if he were taking a leisurely stroll, assuming a more proper battle position now that the pokemon were between their trainers. He seemed so restrained compared to how he'd been when Purple last met him! And then he stood up on his hind legs, adjusted his non-existent collar and...

Rex's battlecry took the form of an impressive roar straight out of Jurrasic Park. Who the hell did these bite size nerds think they were, smack talking him and his trainer anyway?? He was a freakin' T-Rex! Careful boys, or all that hot air Rex is blowing might knock you over! Or y'know, getting smacked by Tyrantrum's gigantic skull might. The sound of thundering feet rushing the duo could be heard as Tyrantrum followed up by rushing Clucky! ("MOVE, CHICKEEEN!! CLUCK CLUCK AND AWAY!!") Tyrantrum went on to roar as he hurdled toward his unfortunate victim.

Tyrantrum then turned on the duo, raising his foot and slamming it down on the ground with deliberately awesome force! this actually shattered the ground, causing it to burst from underneath Purple and Clucky. If they weren't careful, they'd get knocked on their rears again! Maybe one would be wise not to lay down with Valorie around. She might just go for a round 2~

Purple and Clucky, posing in a ring of fire. That had to be a badass visual from any angle, right?
Well someone seemed to think so. Purple’s ears picked up a lone voice out of the sea of crowd activity. Did they make a fan? Guess they weren’t alone in this after all. Gosh that’s really flattering. Flattering enough to change his mood even. Purple smiled with assurance and tipped his hat in their direction. He gave a face that said, ‘We’ve got this, and we’ll win this for You.’ As it turned out, however, the majority didn’t agree. That one voice was soon drowned in a sea of cheers all chanting Valorie’s name. Huh? They’re still on Her side?

CRACK! CRACK!

The cracks head across the stadium. The cracks heard by a generation. Were they the sound of Rex’s jaw shattering? Or was it the noise of Clucky’s knuckles crepitating?
Must’ve been the latter since Rex shielded himself against both hits. Bubbleshielding. Oh yeah that was a thing. Upon realizing this, Purple facepalmed. ! Only to discover his face still stung.

(You expecting Multi-color fire? Ask a Fairy type.) Clucky grumbled, backflipping away from Rex back into position. He noticed his claw tendons felt less stiff now.
(Huh. Thanks, by the way.) Clucky grunted in relief, shaking his claws Jazz Hands style. (‘Been trying to crack ‘em all day.)

“Aw Budge budge, Pidgey pudge. ‘No matter how you shoo a Pyukumuku-’” Purple scoffed, beginning to quote an ancient Alolan phrase when Rex cut him off by roaring.

Clucky and Purple both had to brace on the spot against the thunderous force of Rex’s roar. There was something unsettlingly familiar about it.
Clucky remembered that roar from a Tyrantrum that once tore the infant Life Pokémon himself into shreds. The flashback was so vivid in the Blaziken’s mind that he couldn’t even snap out of it fast enough to avoid Rex’s big head coming right at him!

((Clucky was hit by Rex’s Head Smash thanks to stunned status.))

He was struck like a truck, only the impact knocking him out of his day dream. He skated to a staggering halt, inches short of bumping into his trainer.
Purple, on the other hand was much less composed than his Pokémon. That roar… That roar which was buried in Purple’s subconscious, echoing only in the darkness of his worst nightmares, had been uploaded to the surface and put on blast for everyone to hear again. It dragged that horrific vision of Xernias himself being torn to crimson ribbons. It was an experience that had forever haunted Purple, one he had wished to run from, and now it had caught up to him. Now he was staring that same Tyrantrum down all over again. Who else’s Pokémon could it have been?

Not nearly as loudly as Rex’s roaring, Clucky could hear Purple trembling behind him. This noise had the opposite effect. These two terrorized the most precious person in his world: His trainer, who fed and raised him since Torchic. And in defence of whom, the Torchic found the courage to become a Blaziken and then the heart to mega evolve. And it was going to be with his brain that he’d triumph over this pocket monster.
(It’s alright, kid.) Clucky crowed in encouragement to his trainer behind him, putting a claw thumb up for him to see. (We got this.)
“Atta boy, Clucky.” Purple nodded, raising his thumb in reply, even if he couldn’t see it. The trainer then tugged on his Blaziken’s arm and lifted his mouth to where his ears should be, whispering a command. Clucky seemed to like the idea and the Blaziken smirked in agreement. The two did a back knuckle fist bump and Purple released him back into the fray.
Clucky took another bound into the air, going for a much higher arc this time. Past Rex’s jaw, over his head and straight to his forehead. If bashing him in the chin doesn’t work, how about right between the eyes?

And CRACK! The Blaziken attempted to Double Kick Tyrantrum’s crown instead. Bounding off his second kick, he somersaulted off Rex’s snout and onto his collar fluffy collar.

Purple saw Rex’s lift his foot. His motion studies told him that was an Earthquake coming down and his gaming experience told him what that meant, Jump!

Too bad his reflexes weren’t as responsive as his controllers. The poor kid toppled over onto his hands and knees, struggling to keep balance.
“You think Clucky got so strong by running from every punk that came along?” Purple asked out loud to distract them both as Clucky swung down around Rex’s neck.
“Clucky! Quick! Use Double Kick! And show them that they’re wrong!”

(Coochie Coo!) Clucky chirped delivering a flaming foot to express to the Tyrantrum’s tummy. “Blaziken!”

Bouncing off Rex’s belly, Clucky did yet another back flip and landed where he began, assuming the same stance his trainer was awaiting him in.

“Ugh. See? That’s how. Clucky? Take a bow.” Purple congratulated his Blaziken. Whether the attacks landed or not, his form was on point.
“Blaziken.” Clucky graciously bowed to the crowd like a martial arts master.

Ulala watched the fight carefully using her binoculars, surprised by Rex's roar. However while she was watching the fight, Pudding was having trouble seeing it herself from the tower, which started to frustrate the reporter.




"Grr, I can't see what those four are doing down there. I'm a reporter, I need to report this if I want to win this bet against you Ulala and get better ratings for my channel!"

Ulala lowered her binoculars and turned towards her rival.



"I'm guessing you forgot yours at the station Pudding?"



"Yeah basically."



"Well, to give you the recap onto our second minute of the match. Valorie seem's to be doing well in this round as well despite not doing well powering up. This time her pokemon has put extra effort then the first minute by doing a clever move which involved paralysing Purple and Clucky via screaming at them and inflicting damage on those two."



"What, i'm losing!?"




"I'm not saying your losing. The team your rooting for managed to provide good attacks on Valorie and Rex, the thing is, will they last as we go into our third minute of the match? We should see. Meanwhile Valorie and Rex should be careful as well, although by now half of the audience is rooting for them, one mishap and things could go wrong for them fast."




"So look out Ulala, she's not going to last!"


And Ulala was right, as half of the audience was cheering for Valorie and Rex, while the other half were half silent, half cheering for Purple and Clucky to win. The fight was getting intense then before.

...A repeat act, but there was no bubble shield. Valorie hadn't even tried to get Rex to dodge! She'd just stood there and watched with a smug look on her face, almost as if she knew Rex could take it! Her tyrantrum simply closed his eyes for a moment to shield them. Maybe Clucky would've been better off going for those.

((Rex... just kinda takes the first two hits.))

". . . Can't you see Rex's head is the strongest part of his body? It's hard as rocks! You'll knock your pokemon out before you take him out that way!" Valorie remarked in mild frustration with Purple's performance. "Could it be that your skull's even thicker than his?? O~hohoho!" Valorie light-heartedly went on to tease, accompanied by a grounding growl from Rex himself. However, Purple's next attack caught Valorie's attention. She could tell it was a lot stronger than the one preceding it just from the way Clucky pulled back for it! Also it was aimed at a much more vulnerable part of Rex's body. The sassy trainer abruptly snapped to attention. "Rex, dodge!" Valorie commanded.

And on cue, Rex lunged into the air! His belly slipped away from Blaziken's grasp at the last moment, with the massive pokemon landing a few meters back. Valorie shot Purple a knowing yet piercing stare. "...Or maybe you're holding BACK!" Valorie accused. She seemed insulted. "...See if you can take this lightly! Rex! Crunch!" Valorie commanded. On cue, Rex hunched over and stalked Clucky. One step. Two step. Three step. Ah ah a--Sorry. After a couple of steps, Rex abruptly lunged forward and attempted to pinch Clucky between his teeth with overwhelming force! It ain't named crunch because it's nice for your bones.

"Now, while Clucky is defenseless! Maul!" Valorie quickly went on to shout, folding her arms before her and taking a confrontational pose. On cue, Rex promptly bit down on Clucky again! Munch munch. They didn't even have hoenn fried chicken where he came from! Such senseless brutality! What were you expecting of a pokemon named after brutal tyrants and temper tantrums?

Well that didn’t go quite as well as they hoped it would.
(Impossible.) Clucky gasped as Rex defied gravity and jumped out of the way of his Blaze Kick. This wasn’t just another one of the wild monsters he was used to incapacitating, this Pokémon was a specially bred and trained for battle! By the time Clucky landed from his attack, burn foot and all, Rex was already a few meters away. With those powerful legs, he needed to get out of His range, Fast! Back flipping out of the way, he couldn’t backflip fast enough as with the same speed, Rex came back to bite him. Clucky struggled against the Tyrantrum’s teeth, trapped between a Rock Type and several dozen little hard places. His now burnt foot wasn’t doing any favours to his escape either. Bad came to worse because just as both Blaziken and trainer feared, Rex began to chew. Several squawks of agony burst from Clucky’s beak as his life flashed before his eyes. As it turns out his life wasn’t half bad for a Blaziken’s, but honestly, he always thought he’d die by drowning or something.
(I regret nothing!) He crowed, spitting an ember into Rex’s eye, desperately trying to get him to let go.

“Clucky! Nooo!!!” Purple cried out in distress, single-mindedly running out onto the battlefield to save him. What was he going to do? Pry the Tyrantrum’s mouth open and extract the Blaziken himself? He was ready to try without a second though! This happening to Clucky was a primal fear he harboured for a long time, so he was Not, in fact, taking this lightly.
He caught the giant bird the dinosaur spat at him, breaking his fall. Looking down at his poor mess of mangled red feathers that was Blaziken, Purple couldn’t hold back a trickle of tears that dripped from his cheeks onto his beak.
“Bla…ziken…” Clucky coughed apologetically as he gazed up at his trainer’s devastated face.
“No boy. I’m sorry!” Purple cried back, cradling his Blaziken’s torso in his arms. “I should’ve trained you harder, gotten you that Focus Sash and-” he blubbered before being cut off by a pet from his Pokemon, caressing his cheek with his claw. “You did great, Clucky… But I’ve failed you as a trainer.” Purple sulked in shame. “Come on, let’s get out of here.” He tried to scoop up lift his much larger Blaziken, but he refused to budge.
“I said come on, Clucky! We don’t ‘got this.’ You’re not a Lucario! Look at yourself! You’re in no condition to-” Purple insisted before noticing the look he was giving him.
(No. We’re not quitting. You may be a pacifist kid, but we’re not chickens. We’ve got like a whole 2 minutes left to turn this around. Like I said, we’ve got this and we’re not getting out until we see this through!)
“…You're right.” Purple agreed, understanding that look of determination in his eyes. “Whether we got it or not, it's got us. And that means we can't let go until it's over.” He decided, taking Clucky’s claw in his hand and linking their fingers. “They'd have to eat Both of us before we give up!”
(That's…Actually not as funny as you make it sound.) Clucky coughed, choking on a chuckle, but he was satisfied with the sentiment. (That's the spirit. …But Seriously, stay out of that thing’s mouth. I don’t think he brushes.)

It was at this time their awareness returned to the world around them. The crowd was still loudly chanting Valorie’s name and even threw her a gift! They’re still on her side after all that? What did they see in him that made them all pick her? Did they think He was the bad guy? That’s not fair at all!
…Well there was that one kid whose voice began to echo in Purple’s mind. It was then that he decided he was going to show everyone what that kid saw him.
But looking up at Rex and Valorie, what on earth were they going to do now? She had a 595.2 pound killing machine and all he had was… That’s it! They had something she didn’t.
If everyone did think he was the bad guy, it was high time he changed his image. This wasn’t a game a heel would win. Everyone loves a redemption arc, don’t they? Thus, it was time to switch from Incineroar to Primarina, and that meant…

Clucky smiled seeing the twinkle in Purple's eye. He knew that meant he had an idea. He wiped a tear off his trainer’s face with his claw, wishing him good luck.
“You made me so proud, big guy.” Purple dried his face and hugged Clucky one more time. “You’re getting the biggest spiciest bowl of pokébeans when this is over.”
“Alright everybody, let him hear, let him see,” Purple stood up to address his fans, holding up Clucky’s fist. “One more time, give it up for Clucky!”

“Don’t worry folks, he’ll be back.” Clucky took one more, wobbly bow as Purple withdrew him back into his pokéball. “But now it’s time for the Main Act! But first, anybody here hablar Espanol?” Purple looked to the whole crowd this time to ask. “Well, Lo siento.” He shrugged coyly.

Purple took a deep breath and began to announce in a deep commanding voice as could only be described as Mexican Master Hand:
“Niñas y niños, damas y caballeros! Ahora presento... Mi próximo... Monstruo... De Bolsillo!”
He dramatically raised another Pokéball out of his hoodie pocket and tossed it high into the sky. It opened in midair and out splashed a large yellow and green…Fuzzy… Duck…Pinapple…Thing with a Sombrero? Coming down with a light sprinkle of rain that put out the fire Clucky left behind, Kappineapple the Ludicolo landed beside Purple and struck a stylish pose. Clearly he was ready to tango.
“Ludicolo!”

“Ready, Kappin?” His trainer asked eagerly as he caught the empty ball and put it away.
“Ludicolo-lo-lolu!” Peeking at Purple to say yes, the Kappineapple couldn’t hold back a quack of laughter at the heart shaped bruise on his face. Hadn’t that worn off yet? “Focus Kappin.” Purple sighed flatly. He promptly resumed the position. A packed stadium full of screaming fans. A Pokémon could get used to a place like this. But who’s this Valorie person everybody’s cheering for? Was it the little lady over there beside the big bad Tyrantrum?
“Colo!~” Kappineapple quacked in approval of Valorie’s apparel. _{“No Kappin No! She’s pure evil!”} Purple whispered and warned, recognizing the look on his face. _{(Aren’t they all?~)} Kappineapple winked back unfazed with a playful nudge.
“Okay Kappin, how’s about you stretch for a sec while I introduce you?~” Purple theatrically offered, gesturing the audience’s attention to his Ludicolo.
“Colo!” Kappineapple agreed, not beginning to touch his toes or crack his knuckles, but by beginning to samba jovially while Purple cleared his throat and sang a mariachi ditty about him.

On cue, as they rehearsed, Purple offered his hand and joined the merry Ludicolo in dance as he continued to gleefully sing.

Ending the dance in a duo pose, giving the audience a chance to clap, neither bowed yet for the show wasn’t over.
“Joints all loose, Kappin?” Purple asked, unzipping his hoodie and catching his breath.
“Ludi!” Kappineapple replied, refreshed and sunny as ever.
“Good, then it’s time for your Vocal warm-up.” Purple announced with an ominous smile as he strapped on his headphones.
After clearing his throat, Kappineapple breathed deep and began to belt out a waltz ballad… in English? What a spectacle!

The crowd was getting wild for Valorie and Purple, but mostly at Valorie. Fortunately the crowd was picking up for Purple, because half of the audience was now cheering for the guy and his pokemon to win, while the other crowd that was cheering for Valorie were so happy at what she's done during this match so far that they threw a little item for her to catch.







"Woah, since when did someone get a beehive?" Ulala was surprised, but not as surprised as Pudding, who was happy over something.



"Oh, would you look at that, it seems the trainer i'm rooting for has gained points for that kick attack his pokemon just did."


"Don't be so sure of yourself just yet Pudding. While Valorie's pokemon suffered the blunt of Clucky's attacks either way, it still managed to dodge Clucky's final attack of this match and did two critical attacks that will surely leave a mark on Clucky. This match is really heating up as we reach the final two minutes, i'm getting excited."



"Well either way, Purple still did great and hopefully he'll get an item before the last two minutes of this match ends! His new pokemon has a handsome voice though."

((Hey! When I went over Tartoon's post I noticed two things that honestly took me by surprise.

The first was that he appealed twice. The first was a 4, but he just kinda... illegally rerolled again and got a 21. Appeals are supposed to be a once per turn thing, since they don't cost an action and otherwise you could just reroll forever until you got what you wanted. Y'know? Since you're keeping track of Tartoon's appeal points, I'll just kinda let you handle that for the sake of moving on, Star.

Second, here are all the actions Purple used in his last turn: Flamethrower, Switching Pokemon, Own Tempo, Echoed Voice, Bubble, Bubble. That's 6 actions. According to the rules I believe G&W set a while back, you are technically allowed to exceed 3 actions however every additional action suffers a stacking -5 accuracy penalty with each extra roll. This is not reflected in Tartoon's rolls, however they will be reflected in my post. Since this has gotten confusing, I will take extra steps to communicate whether a roll was succesful in this post.

" . . . Can you understand your pokemon?" Valorie asked in curious bewilderment. It kinda seemed like he could, which was a surprise to her! However, Rex wasn't so patient for Kappin's little performance. He just kinda bumrushed the newly sent out pokemon aiming to overwhelm Kappin's reckless offense with a superior offense of his own! ...Y'know, because he's a t-rex. He's not exactly going to block with those tiny arms. While everything is going on, Valorie ... catches a beehive. The trainer just sort of stood there for a moment, staring at it. You could just see the gears in her head spinning. That was a beehive. Someone had thrown a beehive at her. ...THOSE WERE BEES. OH GOD SHE WAS HOLDING A BEEHIVE. A shrill shriek escaped Valorie and she promptly tossed the beehive at Kappin.

As she did this, she saw Rex trying to get in on Kappin's guard and decided to help out for once! ...Cupping her hands over her heart, a magical pink heart shaped bubble formed between her hands. She then tossed the heart at Kappin! The projectile love magic fluttered through the air, threatening to explode in the pokemon's face!

And finally, of course, Rex used Valorie's oddly hands on battling style as an opportunity to worm his way past Kappin's attacks and try to violently run him down, smacking him across the stadium with his giant head if he caught the other!

It was like watching a train plow through a car--only slightly more hilarious looking. With a flip of her hair and a haughty pose, she turned her nose up at Purple and simply smiled, displaying her best Raffina impression! Words were for nerds anyway. Oho~

A portion of the crowd seemed to love his song too. But not that many more people were cheering either of their names more than Valorie’s. Did they accidentally put their own fans to sleep? If only Rex were one of them. Instead of curling up to sleep like they expected him to, he was still standing wide awake and as menacing as ever.
“…M-Must not be a music fan.” Purple hiccuped in a cold sweat. Music always soothed the savage beast, but this beast was legendary! Who knows how highly trained a level he was to resist so much! There’s no point trying to attack that thing.

Amidst all the singing, a shrill shriek from Valorie caught both their attention. What was she doing? She was throwing something at his Ludicolo! Kappineapple begin to giggle at the sight of her holding a bee hive until she threw it at him.

(A present for Me? How sweet!) Kappineapple quacked with surprise, catching the beehive. (A Combee hive full of honey?) He inspected the hive, only to discover it was full of bees! (What kind of Combees are these?!) the Ludicolo quacked flustered, trying desperately to swat away the foreign little insects. They must have mistaken him for a giant flower.
(Ow Ow Ow! Ay hermana! That wasn’t very nice!) He pouted, between his fanning.
What was she doing now? She was floating a heart to him? Aw sweet! Was that her way of apologizing?

(You know Bubble too?) Kappineapple quacked with intrigue, not expecting the cute pink bubble to do so much damage. Apology not accepted.
As it turned out, this was all a distraction, so the giant Tyrantrum could come rushing down to bulldoze him. There wasn’t enough space to slide out of the way like a matador, so Kappine had to take an example and Bubble… as a Shield!

And the bubble popped, launching Kappineapple harmlessly back all the way over the Purple. Using his sombrero-like leaf dish as a parachute, he floated down and landed on his feet.
“Kappin! You okay?” Purple asked his Ludicolo with a familiar sense of urgency.
(You’re right, Purp. She plays rough.) Kappineapple quacked in bewilderment as he dusted himself off. Good thing he was a big round boy with a nice thick coat of fuzz to protection. It was starting to sink in just what his trainer meant with what he called her. As for his trainer, That’s the straw that broke the Machamp’s back!
Assaulting him before he got his Pokémon out was already out of line. Having her dinosaur chew his chicken? Fine. This was a Pokémon Battle, after all, no matter how excessive. But personally, going out of her way to attack his Ludicolo? She crossed the line into the grass and nobody has enough repels to run from what wild thing’s gonna appear! He was going to wipe that lipstick smirk off her face with turpentine!
But wait. Was he insane? The crowd loves her way too much! With all they let her get away with, they’d disqualify him for even lifting a finger to touch her! …But wait, who said it had to be His finger?... He got affected by Rex’s Earthquake too, didn’t he?

Clearing his throat, Purple caught his Ludicolo’s attention by starting to sing again.

It took Kappineapple by surprise what his trainers lyrics were giving him permission to do, but he was all for it. He wanted a closer look at that beauty anyway.
As festive and nibble as ever, the Ludicolo shuffled out onto the battle field, sashaying right around Rex and going for… Valorie?

Choosing her as his dance partner, Kappineapple swept the little girl right off her feet and into a tango. Grating her against his shaggy, surprisingly lily-scented fur, the Ludicolo began to recklessly jive around with her as they frantically sambaed across the dance floor-I mean battlefield in step to his trainer’s song. Normally moves like this were reserved for other Pokémon, but he had to admit, she smelled nicer than his usual dance partners.

Kappineapple twirled Valorie to the left, twirled her to the right, swept her down between his legs and tossed her up, catching her on his pointy sombrero-like leaf dish. Swinging her down, he took her by both hands and spun her around. A wide round, finally letting her go in Rex’s direction. See if those little arms can catch!

Purple sang down to Valorie in English for a change, answering her question from earlier. “The plan didn’t do real good, but Man, did that feel good.” He sighed in satisfaction. He had to struggle not to break his singing by laughing at how funny they looked dancing together. Heck, feeling his face smiling, he realized the heart shaped bruise had finally healed too. Now that he had that out of his system however, he looked down at Valorie again with a sudden… conflict.

Did he hear what he just said? What did he just do? What low did this battle make him stoop to? Even if she deserved it, attacking trainers with Pokémon was Still wrong! What would Nintenda think? Even if the dance was funny, he’d boo himself if he knew why he did it. This wasn’t him. He didn’t want to be this guy.
“Mademoiselle?” That’s what they addressed women they respected with in Kalos. With a new, more humble face, Purple extended a sportsman’s hand to help Valorie back up. He knew he was risking getting kneed in the gut or something, but he wanted to send a message that no matter what she did, with only one turn left, he was going to end this battle fair and square. He hoped he could communicate with the dignifying look in his eye, he had no dirty tricks left up his sleeve.

Ulala and Pudding continued to watch the match carefully, with each girl cheering for when the team there rooting for manages to score points by hitting the other team. The crowd meanwhile was now cheering for Valorie and Purple to win. One half wanted Valorie to win while the other for Purple, it was only going to take the crowd 60 seconds until the winner is decided, as the match reaches the final round.

Both crowds threw something for Valorie and Purple to catch.

"It seem's like each competitor is doing great so far in the competition. Were about to reach the final minute of the match now, so when that passes we will determined the winner of this fight by the points Valorie and Purple received during the fight. For me, I hope it's Valorie since she's putting up a great fight so far, plus the pokemon she uses so far resembles a dinosaur and I like dinosaurs. I wonder if she knows about them in her world."
