Doppelganger Amitie
Li's Ley Lines
Alignment: Neutral Good
Motto: "Wicked~!"
Backstory: Doppelganger Amitie was originally nothing more than a magical construct mysteriously created to imitate Amitie. However, when Rider visited her she accidentally imparted in the doppelganger a feeling of intense and powerful love. This love was so powerful in fact that it warped her mind and caused her to become self-aware. She turned upon her previous masters, fighting against her very nature for a chance to survive to see the world beyond the mirage portal she was born into. This would have been the end of the story for anyone else, their life snuffed out as soon as they were deprived of the magic current that fueled their existance like electricity to a lamp. However, Doppelganger Amitie's unrelenting determination paid off and, by some miracle, managed to find a new source of power for her continued existence...
Appearance:
History On Li: Taking destiny into her own hands, Doppelganger Amitie stepped out onto Li for the first time. She was without her original's iconic clothes, having given them away prior to leaving, but she felt more alive than she had in her very brief life. ...Was alive the right term for what she felt? No... Although she appeared to have escaped the mirage portal intact, this was highly deceiving. Doppelganger Amitie could tell right away that she had been mutilated in ways the eyes could not see the moment she had taken her existance into her own hands. She'd been stripped of her ignorance, and was now fully aware of just what laid beneath her familiar exterior. She was hollow, and her insides were nothing but raw magic. She felt no hunger or thirst, her breathing drew no air. She felt very weak and unsubstantial as if a mere breeze might push her about. She was not human, and yet her supposed humanity was all she'd known for the past month. But... What was she exactly? What did any of this mean?
One thing was for sure, Doppelganger Amitie wasn't about to quit now. She needed to find Rider. She needed to find Raffine! She needed to find the real Amitie! ...And maybe Ms. Accord because she had questions! ...This was the point at which Doppelganger Amitie realized she was lost, hopelessly so. ...Aw nuts. There was no civilization as far as the eye could see, and she'd gone too far to go back now. The wayward construct began to wander aimlessly forward, in the hopes that maybe she would be able to find something that would help her locate herself if nothing else.
[PTabbedContent=Attacks and Abilities][PTab=Primary Attacks (4)]Magic Missile: Balls of radiant raw magic are launched to assault a foe in rapid succession. Inflicts 1% self-damage per action. Has moderate knockback. (Light Wis Attack; Does 7% Damage)
Arcane Storm: Doppelganger Amitie whips up a twister of raw magic that is liable to leave the target with a nasty radiation burn similar to a severe sunburn. Has a 50% chance to burn. Inflicts 5% self-damage. 1 Turn cooldown. (Medium Wis Attack; Does 18% Damage)
Wave Motion Mana Bolt: A bolt of heavily concentrated magic is launched like a bright comet at an enemy, obliterating the target with overwhelming force. Has extreme knockback. Cannot be bubble-shielded. Has a 50% chance to inflict paralysis. Inflicts 14% self-damage. Consumes 2 actions. 3 Turn Cooldown. (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 32% Damage)
Staff of Earth: From the dawn of humanity, man has solved a variety of problems by HITTING IT WITH A ROCK. Now, even little waifs with noodle arms and noses buried deep in books can HIT PEOPLE WITH ROCKS. With a swing of this staff a--THAT'S A BOULDER--will fly out to crush your enemies. It's as brutal as it is quick. Has a 2 turn cooldown. Has a 30% chance of inflicting paralysis. 5% recoil (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 24% Damage)
[/PTab={min-height:150px;max-height:300px;overflow:auto;}]
[PTab=Special Attacks (6)]Unstable Fever: Doppelganger Amitie enters a destructive feverish state that greatly amplifies her magical abilities at the cost of her own health. For three turns her attacks do 5% extra and she gains a +3 to her attack rolls, but suffers 5% damage at the end of each turn and is afflicted by the mind-melted status for the duration. This buff can be ended prematurely. 3 Turn Cooldown.
Conjure Refreshments: By siphoning magic from her body, Doppelganger Amitie can turn it into food! You wouldn't think food made out of magic would be delicious, but it is! It also has some slightly dangerous addictive properties... Depending on the size of the meal she creates, it has a differing effect. None of the effects stack with themselves and D. Amitie does not gain any benefit from eating her own food other than healing the damage she caused creating it. Regardless, this move has a 1 turn cooldown.
Ethereal Form: Doppelganger Amitie sheds her physical form, becoming raw magic. She cannot continue to exist in this state for long, so she must rapidly submit herself to another character to stabilize the magic that makes her up, entering their bodies as fuel. The host character then has a choice. They can accept a -2 debuff to all their magic related rolls and heal D. Amitie for an amount equal to 1d3+(Host's Cha) each turn (minimum of 2%), or they can choose to expend the large amount of magic they've been gifted with to grant themselves a +2 to their wisdom mod or a +3% to their magical damage. ...Or both! However, D. Amitie takes 5% damage each turn she is subjected to this, 10% if both buffs are in play, until she perishes. She also cannot be healed by other methods while in this form. While in this form D. Amitie cannot take any actions and is incapable of leaving the host character on her own, requiring their aid to free herself.
Magical Harp: By playing a magical tune of power, the caster can influence their allies to perform better! Comes in one of the following flavors, all of which incur a 2% recoil penalty and a 1 turn cooldown.
Offensive Tune: The target gains a 5% damage bonus and an accuracy bonus equal to Amitwo's charisma to their next attack.
Defensive Tune: The target gains a 5% damage resistance bonus against the next attack that hits them.
Support Tune: The target gains an extra action.
Leyline Evocation: Amitwo draws a burst of power from Li's ley lines to sustain herself! She recovers 1d15+cha HP, but has a 30% chance of burning herself in the process. 3 turn cooldown.
Little Form: This more efficient form allows Amitwo to better sustain herself at the cost of power throughput and a de-aging effect on her appearance and mind. All attacks do up to 8% less recoil while this buff is active, but bottom out at a minimum of 1% recoil. They also do 2% less damage, however, and Amitwo's WIS/INT modifiers decrease by 1. This "buff" lasts indefinitely and cannot be dispelled or interacted with by any means other than Amitwo's volition, as it is to be considered a transformation for the purposes of mechanics.
[/PTab={min-height:150px;max-height:300px;overflow:auto;}]
[PTab=Ultimate Attacks (1)]Arcane Fission: Doppelganger Amitie weaponized her own body and violently explodes in a wave of deadly magic. This deals an equal amount of damage to herself as it does to every enemy in the area, up to a maximum of 80%. Instead of being hurt, allies gain a +2 buff to their wisdom mod and a +3% to their magical damage done for 3 turns. After using this final smash, D. Amitie is forced into her ethereal form and cannot be manifested again until she is healed for a cumulative 15% health.
[/PTab={min-height:150px;max-height:300px;overflow:auto;}]
[PTab=Other Info] Doppelganger Amitie is weak to magic suppressing and magic draining attacks, which automatically do 1.5x damage to her.
Doppelganger Amitie cannot survive in locations that drain or dissipate magic. She can only avoid death using her ethereal form.
Speaking of death, Doppelganger Amitie is not protected by the trophy mechanic and will experience "true" death if slain.
Doppelganger Amitie cannot be healed by non-magical means, such as by food items or first aid.
Doppelganger Amitie has little to no natural weight and can fly freely as a result.
She considers her birthday to be December 25th, as this was when she gained self-awareness.
Because Doppelganger Amitie is literally made of magic, she does not need to incant her attacks.
