Ah, the Crashed Nintendoland. A theme park filled with attractions based on the various universes for some reason. But that piece of scenic garbage is not the reason we are here. Not far off from it was another amusement park, this one filled with red and white and brilliant lights like some kind of Carnival Night. This amusement park of grand proportions was from one Eggman had built on Angel Island eons ago. It's a miracle it passes any safety regulations but really what carnival does?

"Where are those two? We need to get those supplies soon!" Eggman complained, sitting back in his Eggmobile with growing impatience. "This raid was supposed to be days ago!" ... Exaggerating as if he was trying to imply something he should not know while waiting at the entrance.

"Raid, I thought were getting supplies?" Theodora said resting atop on the egg mobile, before sliding down from it, briefly turning into a bird so she can land without any broken bones, when she turned back she turned towards the sinister Eggman as she introduced herself. "Theodora Veneficus by the way, it's...Ok to meet you." Theodora said almost saying nice there but changed it to a neutral word at the last minute.

"This missions is going to be hard if there's two evil scientists with me."

"Raid, collection, either way we'll be getting the resources we need," Cortex chimed in. His jet-pack coughed as it lowered him to the ground. This location wasn't too far out so the doctor wouldn't worry about too much slowing him down. He couldn't pass up an offer to pick through Eggman's various tech. He had heard word of him. The Gang Wars ended recently and now it seems that the genius himself had left the Sphere into order to do work himself. Good for him.

He took a moment to look over his allies for the venture. Already having an idea from the what had been spoken in the Sphere, Eggman didn't look much different than what he expected. The machine he was riding was unique in that he had never seen before. He admired it for a moment, tilting his head back, and rubbing his chin. Quite the work. The other one, the girl, made Cortex raise one of his hairy, black brows. He had not arrived in time to see her transformation but the wand she held gave him enough of an idea.

"Well," Cortex said suddenly, "We should get a move on, hm?"

Eggman spun around as a voice greeted him. Oh great, ANOTHER talking animal is here to ruin his day. And it's not even anthromorphic!... No, wait, it's just one of those shapeshifters.... Who was really struggling to be polite... Did Eggman forget to trim his mustache this morning? Nah, it's perfect the way it is. Speaking of sscientists with facial hair, Cortex showed up right on time. Ah yes, Cortex, Eggman read his file in the Life Sphere Documents E. Gadd gave him access to. A fellow mad scientist bent on domination that have a rodent constantly getting in their way. They will get along just fine.

"I would say the pleasure is mutual but I have the feeling that would be exaggerating. If you are trying to get some evil secret out of me it isn't going to work you know. Curing this planet is as beneficial to me as it is to you. Besides, you act like raiding your own base is a bad thing," Eggman mocked as he layed back in his Eggmobile and looked down at the 'magic' girl.

"Dr. Neo Cortex I persume? Straight to business, I like that. Great minds think alike. However..." Eggman turned his head to Cortex. "I have a bit more I have to explain. The supplies we need are in my old workshop in the Carnival. The problem with that is the Starvia activated the emergency lockdown procedure while I was away. Of course, there is an emergency override that I installed that was so brilliant that meddlesome fox could never figure it out! Hohohohohoho!" Eggman proclaimed with a laugh.

"Ahem, to activate the ovverride we need to successfully clear a  few Carnival Games. I think 3 is all that is needed to unlock the door. However, there is a grand prize to whoever can clear all 5! Even I do not know what secret it holds! Hohohohohoho!"

"Not unless said base has a lot of dangerous stuff that can pose a threat to the Life Sphere." Theodora said as she ignored Eggman saying he was being good in order to survive the harshness of the planet as Cortex wanted the mission to start, Theodora turned back towards Eggman who explained that in order to enter the base, they need to clear three games but if they clear two more then they'll be able to get a special prize.

"I wonder what the special prize is?" Theodora said as she prepared to follow Eggman.

"Anyway, i'm ready whenever you are."

The mention of the word 'Carnival' hit Cortex odd. It was visible that when it was spoken, he would make a slightly distasteful expression. He brushed it off though. The doctor placed his hands in his coat's pockets and put on his usual grimace.

Cortex couldn't help but question how the well-known doctor wouldn't know what was hidden by his own defenses. Time has passed, sure, but even he remembered things such as schematics to his inventions along with some other rather painful older memories. Oh well, not everyone was as intelligent as he was. The mere thought of that made him make sure to keep an eye on him.

"I am with Theodora. Let us proceed."

"Very well, my fellow man of science. A little disappointed you do not want to hear our wonderful choices but we better get going. Follow me," Eggman instructed. The Eggmobile turned around and headed into the park to begin their quest for the resources. He directed Cortex to a metal Boxing Ring that looked very extravagant. It had a lot of flashing lights of various different colors all around it.

The doctor parked his Eggmobile and walked over the ring and gestured to it. "This, will be our first challenge. I hope you are good at one on one because we have to free this attraction from the Infected. Don't worry though, no one says we have to do this hand to hand. I will even toss your some support if necessary," Eggman explained... It was questionable why he wasn't doing it, but he did offer to be more than a coach.

Cortex looked upon the boxing ring with a dash of indifference. He hadn't said a word and merely looked upon it with an unamused face, his eyes casually rolling over the lights and metal exterior. He simply rumbled his fingers along the inside of his lab coat, taking the fingers of each hand and tap them against the inside of the pocket rhythmically.

One on one. Visions of that bloody marsupial flashed by before making his curl his mouth into a snarl. Of all places, he had to be thinking about him here. His tapping ceased as it curled into a holding fists. A short burst from his jet-pack landed him within the ring. This would be his first encountering the Infected. From what he had read from within his lab, they were mindless, infectious things. He figured it wouldn't be too hard-- long as he didn't get too close.

"Yes, yes," he said, rather nonchalantly as he brought out his ray gun, "As I'm sure you are." The two of them both shared the pain of having a rodent getting caught in their gears and ruining everything. He was going to be sure that that wouldn't happen again to him.
