"In the vast destruction and monstrous place known as Nether Plains, lies a manor that Theodora Magna seeks to take over, simply for the fact that the manor used to belong to her and she now basically owns it due to her father, like me, being dead. But Theodora's quest to remove the demon idol that's inside the manor and causing haunting things to happen from the inside, will be tougher then she thought."



Theodora, along with two others for the mission, Riley Dmitri and Penny Benson stood at the entrance to Veneficus manor, which they hope to bring back to the Life Sphere once it was clear of haunting, it was a dark night as the three were waiting for Luigi and Rundas to arrive so they can enter. "So this is your mansion, pretty nifty." Penny said as Riley spoke. "It does look good, but our home is better." Riley said as Theodora looked towards Riley. "The last time I remember, your home was filled with wires and the smell of burnt rubber, I don't think someone like myself should be there for my own health." Theodora said as Penny spoke back to Riley. "She does have a point Riley, I mean, I keep waking up feeling dizzy all the time." Penny said as Riley spoke back.

"Relax, we'll be fine in both homes, well once we get rid of this demon idol that somehow made it into your old but soon to be refurbished manor Theodora, I wonder how it got inside?"

"I'm not sure, but I feel like someone shady is involved, but not Kido since he was too scared to come with us."

Nearby, a dusty, long undisturbed pipe began to rumble with echoes from inside.
Haunting moans and shrieks began to erupt from within, getting louder and louder.
Until, “CHOO!” the mysterious spectre blasted the cobweb that covered the opening off…with a sneeze.

“Mama Mia! This old-a pipe hasn’t-a been scooped in-a so long, even the little spider’s all abandoned it! Lucky-a me…” the entity coughed.
“In-a fact, I don’t-a think I remember where this-a pipe even leads to!”

A dusty green cap rose out of the dusty green pipe, abruptly stopping. This green gap had a white circle on the front with a very prominent L labelled on it.
“Sigh, let-a me guess; This is-a going to be-another ooky spooky ghosty mission, isn’t it?” The voice sighed pessimistically. The cap braced itself before rising higher out of the pipe revealing a pair of eyes, and a big nose, and a rather handsome moustache. It was Luigi! As brave a coward as ever.

Though his reluctant demeanour changed when his eyes spied the Veneficus manor.
“Ay-Hey! An actual-a house this time! Maybe they Do need-a plumbing this time after all!” Luigi gasped hopefully.
“I mean-a sure, it’s-a little spooky looking, but ev-a-ry house looks haunted when-a the lights are off.” He comforted himself with this thought as he climbed out of the pipe.

Upon noticing Theodora, Riley and Penny waiting for him at the entrance to the manor., Luigi dusted himself off and made his way over to them.

"Ehem. He-Hello, I'm-a Luigi from Mario Bros Plumbing." Luigi introduced himself, taking off his cap, shaking the last bit of dust off in the process.
“I’m understanding I’m-a here to help you make-a your home more habitable?" He wound up asking more than saying.
“In-a that case, You’ve-a come to the perfect plumbing business! After I’m-a through you’d-a be wondering how Anyone could ever have lived without indoor plumbing!” He guaranteed proudly.

Rundas surfed out through the Nether Plains, already feeling rather nauseous from just looking at the terrain below him. Nasty stuff, that was. He soon was put at ease, for in the distance he saw the mansion that Theodora wanted him to investigate.

Landing close to the manor, he soon spied the group he was to work with, and among them, a very familiar face.

"Hello Luigi. Good to see you again" Rundas said, while he looked at the manor. Considering the circumstances of this mission, it was quite odd to find Luigi out here. "So who suckered you into a ghost hunting mission this time?"

Turning to the other three, he introduced himself "Hello there. My name is Rundas. You called me for a bit of ghost extermination?"

"Hi."

"Hey."

"Aloha weird alien thing and scared little man." Penny finished off as Rundas said that Theodora needed them for a ghost problem, Luigi also almost said the same thing. "Yes, were here to destroy a demon idol which will stop the hauntings in my old, but soon to be new home in the Life Sphere." Theodora said as she looked at the manor before speaking once more. "Now that were here, let's go in." Theodora said as she, Riley and Penny entered the manor, unaware someone was waiting for them...To fall into her trap.




"Wow this was the foyer of your house, it really does look...Foyerish." Penny said as Theodora looked around in surprise. "I know, it looks just the same right before Kristoff's murder attempt." Theodora said as she heard laughter from behind her and quickly turned. "What was that?" Theodora said as the windows suddenly darkened and the front door to the manor closed and locked from behind the group, preventing them from leaving.

"Crap, the ghost must of been expecting us." Riley said...As the ghost itself appeared from behind them.



"New guests, just what I need in my new home." The Ghost Woman replied looking down at the group as Theodora looked at the woman in anger. "You, why did you plant that idol in my home, who are you?" Theodora said as the woman replied. "Mary Barrows, the previous owner of the Barrow's Manor, shortly after my...Untimely death my manor was torn down since a number of people...Including one of my daughters, hated it but as a punishment for what I did there I had to walk around the afterlife as a spirit with the only access of the mortal world being a ghost such as my form right now.

I didn't want that, so I found this manor in this dense world and with the only object I had being my, prized Idol, I planted it here so me and my...Memories can live here in peace, until you five came...But don't worry, you'll all be dealt with soon...



As this will be the last place you'll ever visit."

Mary soon vanished as laughter could be heard before it suddenly stopped the windows lit up again as Theodora shakes her head before looking back at the group. "There's no way were letting Mary take over this manor, were going to stop her and destroy that idol.

Lets go team!"



(Due to the Demon Idol, only three people can be in a room at a time (Except for the Foyer) if more then three members of the group are in a room at a time then things will be more difficult, however the only exception of the rule is when one member of the group is fighting and requires help, that will be talked about soon when a battle happens.)

"Me and Penny are going to see if we can reopen the door again so we can try and find a shortcut to where the idol is." Riley said as he and Penny began to examine the door. "Odd, it's like created some force that prevents us from opening this door." Penny said as Theodora entered through a door to the next room.

"Well, let's continue on team."

An icy noise caught Luigi’s ear as he looked up into the Nether sky. Surfing down from above came Rundas.
“Ay Run-a-das! Long-a time no see!” Luigi waved at his old adventure mate. It relaxed him a little to see another familiar face in a place like this. But of course this didn’t last long at all as Rundas popped Luigi’s plumbing bubble.
“Pffhahaha that’s-a real funny one Rundas!” He burst into a forced fit of laughter.
“Ghost hunting mission. The sense of-a humour on this guy.” He chuckled at Theodora, Riley and Penny hoping they’d join in too and prove it was just a joke.

…they didn’t laugh back.
“Oho. Mama Mia.” Luigi sulked with a face palm. “Here-a we go again!”
Dragging his shivering feet, Luigi followed Theodora, Riley, Penny and Rundas into the manor.

“Oooh. I must-a say even the princess’s pipes aren’t as well polished room!” Luigi commented, looking down at his reflection in the shiny floor as if it were a mirror.

“AYEEEPA!” He jumped into Rundas’ arms as laughter spooked them from behind. Good thing Luigi’s eyes were already closed, as the room going dark would have scared him double.

By the time the lights came on again, Luigi was still unresponsively cowering in Rundas’ arms.

After dashing Luigi's hopes of this being a simple pipe fix (again...), Rundas followed the rest of the group into the mansion.

Which didn't look half bad, actually. Rundas looked around, impressed that the manor had managed to last such a long time in this state all the way out here.  "Impressive bit of architecture" Rundas commented "It's held up amazingly well, all things considered."

The good vibes didn't last long, however when the lights went out. Rundas could hear rather haunting laughter behind them, but before he could turn around to investigate, something suspiciously plumber-shaped collided with his upper body and refused to leave his arms.

When the lights came back on, Luigi was cowering in his arms, his eyes tightly shut. "I wouldn't stay there too long if I were you." Rundas said drily "you might catch a cold"

Theodora entered the hall and was surprised to see how large they have gotten due to the Idol's influence over the manor, the floor was also very loosely boarded as she began to look around before noticing a door near her. "A door, lets check out this room team." Theodora said as she entered the room, unaware that Luigi and Rundas were not with her, but someone in the hall was watching her.

Theodora entered the room to see a large painting hanging from in front of her along with weapons left and right, she walked towards the painting and began to inspect it.



"Children playing, this looks a bit weird, what do you think you two?" Theodora said, before turning when she didn't get a response to find that Rundas and Luigi have not followed her.

"Guys?"

Meanwhile back at the foyer, nobody was not doing anything, other then inspecting and reacting to the haunting that just happened.

It took Luigi a second to open his eyes and realize the danger was gone.
Looking around, the first thing he found was Rundas’s dry face.
Luigi could only return a big sheepish grin. Luigi quickly proceeded to eject himself from Rundas’s arms.
Easier said than done as his arms and legs were already partially frozen. Luigi freed himself enough to fall to the floor, still frozen in the same cowering position.

A bit of thaw time and willpower later, Luigi reluctantly joined the gang in investigating the manor.
The first thing his investigation uncovered…Someone was missing?

“Ay! W-where did-a Theodora go to?” Luigi asked with new sense of paranoia.

Rundas waited until Luigi had thawed out before gesturing toward the door to what looked like an armory. "I think Theodora went in there, Luigi. We should follow her. No telling what might happen if we leave her alone." With that, Rundas went to catch up with Theodora.


"Sorry it took so long. I had to wait for Luigi to thaw" he apologized. He then took notice of the painting on the wall.


"I'll  agree that it's quite out of place in a room like this, but I can't make heads or tails of what it could mean." Rundas cocked his head, thinking it over, but nothing he could think of made sense. "What do you think Luigi?" he asked the plumber

"Maybe it's a secret, like we have to light it up to find it's true meaning." Theodora said as she took out her wand and aimed it at the portrait before letting it glow on it as she waited for the results, a few seconds later the portrait began to change into something more creepy, all the children in the portrait were replaced with cloaked figures and the fence behind them was now old and abandoned, however Theodora caught something in the picture, which appeared to be a name of some kind.

Jennifer.

"Well, ignoring the portrait suddenly changing into something more creepy, I wonder who's this Jennifer, we better go anyway and keep that name in our minds, also this room has nothing else but odd weapons we wont use." Theodora said looking over the vast majority of weapons, she wanted to know what Mary used them for, but something in the back of her head said it was probably something evil.

"Let's explore the halls some more."

Not wanting to be left anywhere by himself, Luigi followed Rundas, catching up to Theodora.
Luigi crossed his arms and stroked his moustache, pensively studying the painting on the wall.
“I'm-a think there are-a way too many typos in that notice on the fence.” Luigi pontificated on a small insignificant detail.

Luigi cringed as Theodora's wand's glow began to change the painting.
“Wouldn't it have-a been easier for this-a Jennifer to just sign-a their name like-a normal misunderstood artist?”
“Can't-a we stay and admire some more of-a the art work?” Luigi cowardly pleaded.

Then again being left alone in a haunted room full of weapons had it's own "Nope" stickers on it.
“Ay! Don't-a leave me in-a here!” Luigi called out as he rushed to catch up with Theodora and Rundas.

Rundas jumped  back as the picture changed before his eyes into something far more sinister. What kind of twisted place was this anyway? Theodora didn't seemed fazed by it, but Luigi was predictably terrified.

"I wonder who Jennifer is." Rundas wondered "Maybe she's related in some way to the ghost we saw in the foyer"

Before Rundas could think about it longer, Theodora directed them to the hallways of the manor. While he didn't think that leaving all the weapons behind was a smart idea, Rundas followed her.

"I'm not sure, we should keep looking, we'll definitely find some evidence before we find the idol, it always happens in these kinds of things." Theodora said as she left the room. "We won't need those weapons, like we'll use them anyway since we all have more powerful weapons." Theodora said.

Just as soon as Theodora, Luigi and Rundas left the weapons room, Theodora quickly heard something nearby, she turned towards Luigi and Rundas and put a finger in front of her mouth, motioning them to be quiet. "Do you hear that?" Theodora said as she waited to see if the noise got louder...

Sure enough, it did, because whoever made the noise suddenly burst through the floorboard in front of the trio.

The Red Ghost cried  blood from its black eye sockets as Theodora hit him with her fireworks attack, making the other two ghosts angry and causing them to shoot brimstone at Luigi and Rundas.

Riley and Penny, having heard the commotion outside, quickly left into the hallway to join the trio. "We came to help, we heard what was going on!" Riley said as he and Penny prepared for the next round of attacks.

(If your having trouble in battle, you could always call for help, however to do so you must roll a 15 in Charisma for other partners to hear you, more then three teammates joining the battle will not effect the difficulty, this will be the first and only time in the mission where a charisma roll will not be required.)

“Whomever Jennifer is, she’s-a got-a knack for the trick painting.” Luigi admitted. “I'm-a hope she’s-a more hospitable than that-a Scary Eyebrows lady.”

“Well you know what-a they say: the Plunger’s-a mightier than-a the Sword.” Luigi shrugged, catching up to Rundas and Theodora. “Anyone who dis-a-grees has-a never tried to unclog-a the toilet with-a the sword.”

As soon as Luigi caught up to Rundas and Theodora, his poor traction caused him to bump into them. Looking around for the reason why they stopped, Luigi heard the reason before he saw it.
“WAAAAH!” Luigi screamed at the sight of the red ghosts.

Luigi managed to dive out of the way of the Brimstone. Trembling with his hat down over his eyes, Luigi began to cry just as same as the first ghost who was hit.
“Help!” Luigi begged, fearfully pointing up at the ghosts. Hearing Riley and Penny come to their aid woke Luigi out of his cowardly stupor. Regaining his bearings he decided to fight fire with fire.

Entering the hallway, Rundas listened closely, hearing a quiet groan. Before he could decipher what it was, three red ghosts burst from beneath the floorboards! One of them glared at him, and shot a red hot piece of Brimstone at him!

Due to the closed in nature of the hallway, there wasn't enough room for Rundas to start surfing around like he usually did, but that didn't matter. He still jumped out of the way and proceeded to open fire
