The scene was a grim one. An enormous horde of hundreds of infected were swarming Crestfallen Castle, all crowding dangerously around one particular area. If one were to observe, they might catch sight of the heavenly knight's colorful armor. Palutena was the first one on the scene, teleporting onto some high ground from which to look over the battlefield. She would look over it for several long moments as she waited for the others to catch up with her, a concerned frown upon her face. She for one wanted to know who these crusaders were, but by the looks of it, they might not have a chance. There was no possible way that the knights would be able to fight off that many infected, or at least she didn't think they could. Jumping into the middle of that many infected was suicide.

Palutena picked out several key looking targets. There was a lich harassing the knights from the air with devastating curses, a lamia attempting to charm the knights into abandoning their post from a distance and a horde of dog men hopping around excitedly. The dog men were between the group and the rest of the horde, just sort of off on their own. She had a feeling they would attack them if they approached.

"...I hope those angels can last a bit longer."

"I had a struggle with a Sand Man on the way over here." He sheepishly explianed, scratching sand out of his hair.
"But I'm here now, reporting for duty." Pit affirmed with a nod.

Crestfallen Castle. The remains of what was once home to the Hero king Marth, Radiant Hero Ike, and the rest of the Fire Emblem cast. A true shame that it had been abandoned and broken up like this, would've made for a great base of operations were it not for the plague that covered the land in such a hostile manner. Regardless, the matter of hand was not about the tragic loss of a once perfect castle, but rather to save some crusaders. At least that was what the job description had entailed, but Dark Pit had his own reasonings for even bothering to help these tragic 'heroes' get out of this alive.

And that was to keep himself alive. Or rather, his other self Pit.

The dark angel was alway so obsessed with destroying the skyworld commander without a second thought when he was first brought to Pit's realm. But as time went on he realised that, however painful it was, he HAD to keep the white winged angel alive to make sure that he himself didn't perish along side Pit. If the light died, then so would the dark. So it had been his mission ever since re-animating from that trophy form, to keep his other self alive no matter what. But it didn't mean he had to be nice. He was doing it for himself after all, not Pit's safety because he liked him.

So while the Goddess and Angel were having their little meet-up. A fair distance (but not too far) away there was an odd purple flash and a circle had appeared around some of the Wolf Men in an area that could possibly hit a fair number of them. Soon after that several dark purple/black-ish arrows rained down onto the area as a figure in a brown cloak had slowly made its way behind Pit. "Quit the chit chat, Pitstain. Or did you forget why we're here already?" it said, classic cocky and arrogant voice in all as the wind picked up a bit and blew enough to show the figure's face. One quite similar to Pit himself but with pitch black hair and more serious looks. The classic Dark Pit. And like always, making sure to one-up his 'copy'.

Metal Sonic looked down at the battle from afar while Pit and Palutena met up. He kept a distance from them for now as he scanned the area. He supposed there was something of a benefit to this mission in rescuing those crusaders. Sonic has done things so questionable it would only be a small effort to get people to appreciate Metal Sonic more. It was only a matter of time until that faker had messed up his reputation. Now the real Sonic can easily claim the spotlight he more rightfully deserves.

Metal Sonic stopped these mental logs as he noticed dark arrows rain down onto the battlefield. He has only not gotten involved yet because his current powers were a little too Melee to be safe at the moment. That arrow rain however gave Metal Sonic an idea as he scanned Dark Pit as he grouped with the others, most paticularly his bow. Once Metal Sonic grasped what he needed to with the scan. He ran towards Pit, Palutena and Dark Pit while facing his palm towards the army that was assaulting the crusaders. He focused energy into his palm before firing a rain of dark arrows similar to the ones from Dark Pit's bow from his palm down upon the army.

It would appear, despite being his first time attempting Dark Pit's power, that he used it better than Dark Pit did. Metal Sonic stopped as he got close and looked to the trio of holy figures. Two of them had a stunningly close genetic makeup for some reason. It reminded him of his relationship with Sonic. He looked down at his palm that he used to copy Dark Pit's attack. It would appear that attack had some kind of charging issue... That might be a bit of an issue.

Palutena gawked as Dark Pit and Metal Sonic rushed ahead into that massive warzone. Had they really just done that. She shook her head and giggled. "Well, I guess it's up to us now." Palutena remarked light-heartedly. She didn't seem to have much faith in the course of action the two boys had taken. "Pit, I want you to take down that lich! It's the biggest threat to the knights right now. Don't get distracted, okay?" Palutena ordered, bestowing Pit with the power of flight.

(Pit has the power of flight! This buff lasts for 10 turns, and includes the ability to fly and a +1 buff to Pit's dexterity)

"I'll deal with the lamia." Palutena went on, and on cue her halo would leave her side to go chase down the lamia in question.

Palutena's halo raced across the battlefield and latched itself onto the lamia, hovering over her and grasping at her with its ethereal grasp. It then dragged her into the sky and back to Palutena. The halo rudely pressed down on the snake woman, forcing her onto her stomach and holding her against the ground. The lamia began to whine, cutely protesting her treatment and wriggling helplessly in an attempt to appeal to Palutena's heart. "...I think you're hissing up the wrong tree~" Palutena mocked, unimpressed by the lamia's feminine wiles. To Palutena's shock however, the lamia's gums pulled back exposing her large fangs and she hissed rather loudly in response. It was enough to make the goddess flinch. "Oh..! Someone doesn't take rejection very well." Palutena remarked, beginning to ponder what exactly to do with the monster. Perhaps she could keep it as a pet? ...Nah. Snakes were probably someone else's thing. Maybe send her to Viridi?

Meanwhile, down on the battlefield, Dark Pit's attack completely failed fell a single dogman. The creatures began to bark and snarl, any hope of a surprise attack having been lost because of his recklessness. Luckily for Dark Pit however, Metal Sonic wasn't late. Metal Sonic's variant managed to take down one of the dogmen, leaving nine left. However, there were still nine very vicious monsters voicing their intentions pretty clearly at the two.

The dogmen spread out a bit, partially circling the two before abruptly lunging in to strike at them with blade and teeth. They were surprisingly vicious and didn't seem to be frightened by the earlier display.

Pit greeted Dark Pit, happy to see him again for the first time since they were revived.
"Forgot there was a Co-op mode to this game?"

"Hey look! Who is that?"
Pit gawked as Metal Sonic appeard on the scene.
"Looks like Sonic but...Shinier!"
"And it can out-shoot Pittoo!"
Pit marveled at Metal Sonic superior copied the Dark Arrow Rain.



It was high time Pit officially stepped into the ring and joined the fight as well.
Except Pit didn't Step in. Much to his excitement he Flew into the fray.

"Aye aye, Lady Palutena!"
Pit confirmed with a flourish of his wings.
"Taking out that Lich'll be a sinch!"
Pit cockily commented, taking aim at the Lich with his trusty Palutena Bow.

No effect. Not even one of the beasts fell to his special attack and it looked pitiable with how it came out in comparison to the other people attacking after him, or with him. But then he saw his attack going off once more and had much MUCH more power to it as it wiped out a few of the Wolf Men that he attempted to take care of previously. Looking over at the source of the copied ability, he spotted a metallic robot that reminded him a lot of Sonic. A figure he remembered from his short time in the Smash Tournament and had to fight sometimes. He always heard a rumour about a 'Metal Sonic' copy that was roaming around and made by his nemesis/plot-villain of his adventures. Though it was also told that Sonic had smashed him every time, despite the robot learning from every encounter. This must've been that copying ability. Still, DP tsk'ed in disapproval at the fact he had his thunder stolen and was embarrassed at the robot's stronger copy attack of his own. Pit only rubbed salt into the wound with the comments he spoke. "Shut up! I told you never to call me that again!" he said in an irritated voice, not so happy to hear the name 'Pittoo' again.

Then looking over at the metal copy, he had a face of annoyance that anyone could read. Even the thick headed light angel whom he originated from in the first place. The damn robot stole his thunder, the thing probably needed to recharge its batteries. "Hmph, learn to get your own moves." he said, though of course knowing he was a bit of a hypocrite since he has been called a 'Pit clone' countless times by the community. But he's come a while since then, and has at least grown more originality in his moves for combat that the light angel did. Even brought a variety of weapons this time. He wanted to be his own self, but he didn't want others copying him too.

Meanwhile the former commander had to deal with some enemies that were currently being quite tactful and using their numbers against him. At least they were smart enough not to go in one at a time. Bringing up his silver bow as a means to try and parry the attacks of the Wolf men all jumping at him yBYZ2AzHp_1d20, the clanking of metal against metal and claws. Dark Pit was struggling a bit at first but managed to push back against his attackers and avoid any serious damage. "That all ya got?" he said with a smirk as he at least didn't mess up this time. Though he did need to back up a fair amount now, so using his wings not to fly, but at least give him a boost for jumping, the angel pulled up his sleeve to reveal the Violet Palm and its tattoos along his arm as he fired a few brightly coloured shots at his targets while gaining some distance. Just hoping things went a bit better in terms of strength.

Metal Sonic watched Pit fly around by some mystical power of some sort. He tried to scan it but he felt his Copy Scan locked for some reason. He looked down at his palm and turned it around. Yeah, it was definitely due to the drain produced by that arrow move. He is going to have to wait until his hand recharges before he can delete it... It did seem helpful since he needed AoE though.

"... Ironic," Metal Sonic replied to Dark Pit... It seemed he was mocking him for his similar appearance to Pit... Which Metal Sonic did look unique to compared to Sonic. Still, kind of funny he would be making fun of the clone... Might stem for his thought process of being the real Sonic.

Either way that distraction was over as the dogs came charging them from all sides. Metal Sonic got the fewer amount but he felt he could avoid a more constant barrage. The Robotic Hedgehog curled into a ball and rolled away from one sword strike. He then did a hop into air to avoid the next followed by a side flip in counter to the next swing. Metal Sonic finished his mad dodging with a backflip. This final flip lead into him producing a diamond like outline around him that generated a force field. This Black Shield would protect him from further attacks despite being immobile for the moment.

However he decided to follow this up since the canine warriors were close to him. His body let out a spark as he overloaded his circuits with radioactive energy. The radioactive energy became stronger as it converted the air around Metal Sonic into plasma. This resulted in a constant burst of energy from Metal Sonic to attack the close foes.

However, the actual attack did not come out as his core overheated. Metal Sonic fell down with the Black Shield still surrounding him as black smoke was the only result. He has never failed a Ring Spark Field that badly before. Maybe being in stasis so long had an effect on it. Or maybe it was the effects of the cooldown in his arm... Or maybe he should not of overloaded himself by trying to use Ring Spark Field and Black Shield at the same time. Either way, Metal Sonic could do nothing but kneel at the moment as the Black Shield made up for his moment of weakness.

One of Dark Pit's arrows struck the wolf men, who were shockingly unable to get in on their surrounded prey. The wolf men Dark Pit struck did not go down however, showing that they could apparently takem ore of a hit than perhaps first anticipated. Not by much, however. Several dog men gave chase to Dark Pit, unwilling to allow him to get away. Others remained to pick at the smoking robot. They didn't seem intelligent enough to grasp that Metal Sonic probably wasn't very tasty.

The dog men chasing dark pit begin to slash at his legs with their swords, attempting to bring him down so that they could surround him once again!

(Dark Pit! Those dog men aren't giving up! The threshold to dodge their attacks is 18. Better start taking them out fast, or call for backup.)

Meanwhile, the dog men begin to jab at the fallen robot's black shield. They didn't seem to be having much luck getting through it, but they were nothing if not persistent.

(Metal Sonic! ... has a moment to breathe. Or not. I don't think he's into breathing.)

Meanwhile, the lich was struck by two of Pit's arrows. He did not seem as fragile as the dog men, however. Turning to Pit, the lich promptly cast a curse upon him!

(Pit has been cursed! ...The effects of this curse remain to be seen, however.)

The Lich then cackled, tossing his tattered cloak into the air before him. It seemed to expand, blotting out the sky before Pit! Pit would receive a message via telepathy at about this time.
"Pit! You have to get around or through that cloth barrier before he has a chance to lay another curse!" Palutena warned. "Also, this lamia is rather pitiful to be honest. Perhaps I'll come join you in a moment." Palutena offered. It wasn't clear if the pun had been intentional or not.

And back on the ground, Palutena continued to ponder what to do with her little prisoner. Before she could come to a decission however, the lamia's gaze turned to the sky and it promptly started freaking out, it's desperate struggle renewed as it attempted to free itself from Palutena's ethereal grasp.

Palutena took notice of the lamia's frantic squealing, but not of the shadow loming over them. In but a flash, an enormous beak dropped from the sky and plucked the lamia from where she laid. Palutena gasped in response, looking up just in time to see an enormous bird finish devouring the lamia just above her. The bird promptly spread it's enormous, golden wings wide and let out an ear-piercing scream. Paluteana winced at the sound, easily heard by the others across the battlefield, and drew back. "Oh." Palutena murmured in distaste. Somehow, she didn't think Viridi would want that Lamia now.

So much for assisting Pit. The bird struck down again, this time attempting to strike Palutena with it's beak.

And Palutena was too sluggish to dodge, the massive beak striking her. Luckily, the bird was no longer hungry. However, the attack still hurt quite a bit and Palutena was forced to further withdraw to prevent being struck again. The knights were still managing to hold their own down on the ground.

Pit flailed in panic midair, not even having any idea what the curse did to him yet
"I knew Friday the 13th was a bad day to fly!"
The Lich's cloak blotted out the sky before Pit.
"I already can't see!"
Pit let go of and fired a blind arrow he had already wound up.

Pit's distress was soon pacified by the sound of Palutena's voice in his head.

"Angel01 to ground! Angel01 to ground! Lost visual, over! I repeat, Lost visual, over!
Mayday, over!

Pit barked in pilot jargon before paying attention to what "Houston" had to say.

"Oh, it's just cloth? Well that's...slightly less threatening.
And that'd be cool if you joined me up here!
But I should warn you, it's not just dark up here, the cloth kinda...smells too." 
Pit cautioned, agreeing to the assistance either way.

Pit split his Palutena Bow into two dual blades (Palutena Bow in Melee mode) and charged ahead into the cloth in an attempt to slice his way through it.

Whether he made it through or not, even he heard Garuda's call.

Pit asked looking around with covered ears.

A young, red-haired boy atop of a Honchcrow flew towards Palutena, holding the recruitment flier.

The red-head tapped Palutena on the shoulder. "I am here to help." The boy told the goddess. "I await your orders." Silver stood vigilant as he jumped off of his Honchcrow.

The boy took off a pair of leather gloves he was wearing and put them in his pocket. "I am Silver" He bowed to Palutena. "I am honored to be of service."

Metal Sonic laid in rest as his Black Shield took the blows for him. The attacks of the Dog Men uselessly bouncing off the barrier. After a short amount of time the barrier would dissipate as Metal Sonic's functions were back in order. He needed to make sure that did not occur again. The robot stood back onto his feet and his eyes stared coldly at th Dog Men. His killer red eyes completely devoid of emotion before he curled up into a ball and shot through the horde.

Metal Sonic attempted to get into the center of the horde of Dog men that were attacking him. Once he was in close range to them all he uncurled and raised into the air. His arms and legs bent inwards before he released an area of electric radiation around him with the Ring Spark Field. Since they were all in close range this should hit them well enough.

Pit

Pit's blinde arrow didn't seem to do a whole lot. It would probably have been unreasonable to expect it to, given that he was effectively blinde and all. As he attempted to pierce the large cloth however, it abruptly collapsed on top of him! The blanket curled around Pit, wrapping him up in a big bundle of cloth and forcing him out of the sky.

Meanwhile, the Lich was laying down a blizzard upon the ruined castle, attempting to force the crusaders out of their choke point!

Palutena and Silver

Palutena's gaze turned upon Silver in alarm as he stepped onto the battlefield right in front of her and Garuda, putting himself in immense danger right off the bat. That was just... That was just a kid! He was Pit's age! Palutena's eyes lit up with worry. What in the underworld was a human kid supposed to get done here? She could already sense he had no magic powers--so what?

"Silver, you need to get out of here!" Palutena replied, turning and placing her hands on Silver's shoulders in an effort to level with him. "This place is very dangerous..!"

Before Palutena could continue and before Silver could protest however, the sound of flapping wings could be heard as Garuda decidedly did not respect their conversation and moved to try and prey on the duo! Palutena gasped and turned to try and protect Silver from the oncoming attack, raising her divine shield to ward off Garuda!

...But it was no use. Garuda's massive claws railed against Palutena's shield, but soon the gigantic bird's beak came down and clamped down on the shield, and Palutena's arm by extension! A shrill scream filled the air as the goddess was pulled into the air by the voracious bird, moments from joining her proposed pet within its gullet. Decidedly finding being Arled below her, Palutena began to draw in an enormous amount of light.

Meanwhile, Metal Sonic dispersed the dog men. Few seemed to survive his ring spark field and the two that did quickly dispersed, fleeing the area now that their numbers were down to critical levels. Metal Sonic was now free to try and approach the castle, though he might want to be wary getting too close.

Pit gasped as the cloth abruptly collapsed ontop of him, curing around him to force him out of the sky.
Unable to properly flap his wings to fly,  Pit plummeted helplessly, squirming and yelling something muffled,  bound by the wrappings of dark cloth.
While his cries were muffled he heard Palutena's cry of peril crystal clear.

"Yes Finally Free! It feels like I've been trapped in that dark tight smelly leathery trap for almost a month!"
Pit sighed in relief, regaining flight.
He couldn't celebrate for long, for Lady Palutena sounded like she was in trouble.

"Lady Palutena! Where are yo-Hey!"
Pit gasped seeing Palutena in the Geruda's beak.

"Get your greasy gob off Her Grace!"
Pit shot three arrows at the Garuda.

Lady Palutena could probably handle herself against a big canary, couldn't she? 
Looking down for any sign of it, his little angel eye spied the Lich blowing a blizzard upon the ruined castle.

"You can't hide from me so easy, you little Lich!"
Pit yelled as he dived down to the Lich, intending to uppercut it with his Upperdash Arm it on impact.

"Understood." Was Silver's only response before running a fair distance away from the monsters. From this great distance, Silver signaled his Honchcrow to attack the large mythical bird.
