Cynthia vs Valorie Ryder - Beginning of Turn 2
Valorie recoiled slightly as Cynthia's garchomp made a mockery of her battling ability. Hello despair, my eternal companion... The aspiring dragon master was not down and out yet, however. She had another trick up her very short sleeves. "Woah! Time to step up our game!" Valorie remarked, becoming somewhat anxious. "Dragonite--you know what to do! Hurricane!" she went on to command, gesturing out towards the battlefield. Dragonites wings once again expanded and she rose above the battlefield, taking aim at...
Not Garchomp? If one were paying very close attention, they'd notice Valorie wasn't pointing at Garchomp, nor Cynthia for that matter. She was directing Dragonite towards...
The twister she'd created on the previous turn.
Dragonite flapped her wings powerfully, sending several blasts of hurricane force winds out towards the twister. One could see it's body twist and bulge outwards as the twister found fuel in newfound wind speeds, increasing in size and strength. Dragonite repeated this for a total of three times and each time the hurricane force winds met the twister it was followed by a massive wind shockwave that threatened to throw Garchomp back with each pulse.
((Garchomp! Make three CON rolls to resist the blasts of wind! The thresholds are 12+, 14+ and 16+ respectively. The price of failure is 20% damage))
Across the stadium, Valorie's eyes were focused on the battlefield through the flurry of dust that was kicked up by all her wind-based attacks. That last hurricane attack seemed to send the twister rolling back towards Garchomp however, presented a newfound danger. Filled with newfound strength, the twister posed a larger threat than before.
((Garchomp!! Roll DEX to get away from the twister before it picks you up and throws you! The threshold is 14+ and the price of failure is 14% damage))
"How's that for raw power? Am I as strong as I am 'cute'~?"
Dimentio and Iris vs Zinnia and The Great Gonzales - End of Turn 2
Paper Mario was knocked back once and twice, his paper body contorting momentarily in response to all the damage he was taking. He didn't seem very good at taking hits for a legendary hero! ...And then he snapped back into position. His gaze intensified. Perhaps appealing to the crowd had been a mistake, but he wasn't about to let that stop him. from teaching Dimentio some justice. Paper Mario seemed to adjust some of the paper badges pinned to his paper overalls. This required a different strategy. The paper hero then pulled his hammer back and it promptly caught on fire, a certain fury burning in his eyes. He then rushed Dimentio, striking the ground. A plume of flames burst forth, threatening to flash fry Dimentio if it hit! "Wooohooo!"
((Dimentio! Paper Mario is using his Fire Drive attack! Roll 14+ to dodge; The price of failure is 24% damage and being burned))
Mario then rushed forward and attempted to give Dimentio a good whack over the head. Simple but effective.
((Dimentio! Paper Mario is using his Head Rattle attack! Roll 14+ to dodge; The price of failure is 24% damage and being mind-melted. That's gonna be a concussion.))
Meanwhile, Haxorus and Salamence clashed on the sidelines. A torrent of fire exploded forth on the battlefield, bathing Haxorus in its flames and threatening Dimentio with a surprise attack!
((Dimentio! There's some spillover between the battlers! Roll 15+ Wisdom to dodge Salamence's sweeping flamethrower; The price of failure is 20% Damage and a 50% chance of being burned.))
