In an area not that far off from the battlefield was the wall of the base of the Kremlings that will soon be under siege. It has fallen to all three sides to have people fight over this major exploit of the Kremling's base. It is to be assumed that taking down this wall will devestate the base as a whole. K. Rool has hired a famous tactician to ensure this wall is not to be dealt with. While both Eggman and Bowser has their own men sent after this one wall in order to assure it is taken care of for an advantage.

It may be two on one, but Robin had the homefield advantage. Robin had plenty of TNT Barrels to set up as traps around the area. There were also a few regular and oil barrels thrown in amongst them. These Barrels were all from a certain defeated Kremling's Horde and given what happened to him it may be best to make sure nothing catastrophic happens with them. Use of these traps are Robin's key to balancing the odds against two opposing forces.

The wall definitely does not seem like it is in the best condition. But could destroying it really bring down the whole section of the Warehouse? Well, the mission is to give it a shot and return to the battle. It is worth a shot for the results could prove well if it does work.

Shadow The Hedgehog was one of the few of the Life Sphere that has known the long dragging qualms of battle, the pains of war was something not unfamiliar to The Ultimate Life Form, he felt nothing for anyone partaking in this scenario of petty bickering and egos. This was a pointless quarrel that he wanted to end quickly. Through a long chat, Eggman promised victory to Shadow and also reiterated to the hedgehog that if he wins, things in the Life Sphere will be as they should, and no harm will come to its people or its defenses. E. Gadd may have been foolish to give Dr. Eggman any sort of power, due to the good doctor being, well, psychologically unsettling at times, but with his ever growing distaste for Sonic, and unfamiliarity with Mario, and a lack of knowledge where Samus was located, Eggman was the only option that made sense. Bowser and K. Rool were villains through and through, in Shadow's perspective anyway, and Eggman could at least be reasoned with, he wasn't entirely crazy after all. But Shadow understood that not everyone knew Eggman as well as the hedgehog did, he took the Doctor's side out of an agreement between the two, a genuine pact, an oath if you will, and if Eggman dared to break such a covenant, the Doctor would never see the likes of the Life Sphere again and be fed to the Infected and placed at the gates of hell, this Shadow swore on his own life. He was already getting enough judgment for taking Eggman's side, or even being in this war for that matter, but he wasn't going to sit back and let things unfold without a part in it. He didn't want to take the chance of staying out of the war and seeing the Life Sphere fall by its impact some how, he was going to monitor things and be the vigilant protector of the only thing keeping everyone alive on Li, a city in a bubble, a small light in the dark wasteland. And if Samus were to return to destruction, Shadow as well as so many others that faith was put in to keep the place defended and protected, would be shunned and even killed for their actions. Shadow wasn't going to allow the Life Sphere to fall, secretly he was ordered to keep communication with E. Gadd and update him on the chaos as it happens, but he would refuse to tell anyone this. It was a safe and private communication line through a small device in his ear that only Shadow knew about.

Little did everyone know, Sonic and Mario were at the ready in case things got too out of hand in a secret underground bunker guarding E. Gadd and the Life Sphere's most precious Energy Source camouflaged and hidden from sight. It would be unwise to hide and cower with things left to chance. Shadow is currently overlooking a warehouse that belonged to King K. Rool and monitoring it on a tall building with a watchful eye. He winces and cuts a sharp gaze at the walls set up to be assaulted by the enemies. He saw a few possible entrance points, but he would remain an overseer for now until he saw a decent enough opening to dash into and quickly conquer the base. It was the wisest tactic. E. Gadd buzzes in on the device in Shadow's ear and speaks to the hedgehog with great concern. "Shadow! How is it looking over there? I hear the center of the Life Sphere is going to be real bloody real quick! Members of all three gangs are closing in on eachother, I would send you over to help with the confrontation but your espionage skill is more important at the Kremlings base. I need you to get in there and see what King K. Rool is up to, for I'm afraid he has the most villainous intentions. I can't believe him when he says he just wants to replenish the Life Sphere's lacking resources, I am sure he only has bad intentions, so investigate when you see fit, but do get in there soon, for the rest of the Life Sphere will need your aid shortly to ensure safety on all fronts." Shadow grunted eyeing the ground in thought. There was a couple different ways he could go about things, but Robin had already planned for his traps. It was a messy way to bust through the base, but Shadow played along...for now.

"Well Professor, it seems Robin has taken the initiative to set up traps around the base. Can't say I rather agree with the sloppy placement, but it was a decision beyond my control, he is a master tactician and set them up before I could do anything in terms of infiltration, he had already placed the traps. Now I have to keep an eye on things to make sure the traps can be diffused, however, I don't know if I am the best bet for that task, I don't do...technology...." Shadow takes out his Chaos Emerald and twirls it in his hand expressing that his interest was in chaos energy, and his own abilities, not machines and technology. "I suppose I do still have the Cerebral Sphere that I acquired, which will be useful for trickery...maybe I can sneak in that way, but if I am fast enough, I can maybe set the bombs off without being harmed...Hmm...decisions decisions...." E. Gadd listened to Shadow's suggestions and concerns with a focused attention, and then remembered Shadow's colleague. "What about a team mate....anyone with any technological talents maybe could buy you some time to try and do something with those explosives..." Shadow wasn't opposed to the old man's ideas, but he still wasn't convinced ridding the base of the traps was the best decision just yet. Besides, who did he have for help at all. "I will wait to see what enemies will try and invade the base before intervening. I think it best so that they can deal with the bombs and I won't get hurt in the process. I am alone at the moment, I need to be wise." Shadow stays put to continue his surveillance and silences his communication with the Professor for now in case anyone was able to listen in nearby, and awaits to see what his next move may be.

Krexix strode through the narrow streets and allies, heavy steps softened as best he could while still maintaining a decent speed. Luckily the area leading to the large warehouse structure seemed all but abandoned. He wasn't sure if that was good or not. It could have meant there were enemies laying in wait, obscured by shadows and watching for the opportune moment to strike out at unaware targets. The scaly bipeds under K. Rool were rather impressive looking brutes so it didn't seem like their style of play but one couldn't be too careful. Plus there were other 'heroes' that sided with the reptilian ruler who could very likely employ such tactics. The oerix's mind fluttered with elated thoughts of battle. This could very well be one of the best fights he'd been in since coming here. Just too bad he wouldn't be seeing that green engineer; he would've liked to even the score.

The bomb was secured in the alien's equipment pouch, the belt settled around his waist under the membrane of his wings. He had stored some other things in there as well, and had decided to give the special 'Dedede Brooch' a try. Couldn't hurt anyway. The shiny golden object was tucked neatly out of sight leaving only the dark drab colors of his self and bits of attire: perfect for skulking in the dark allies unnoticed.

Soon enough Krexix had closed in on the wall. It stood, a rather impressive spectacle for the area, not a couple hundred feet down the street. Unfortunately it was just that, a straightaway prime for ranged picking and easily setup for traps. Luckily not so much for ambushes unless they were coming from roofs, though there were a couple niches that could be hiding some small opponents. The oerix took a long look at the area, squinting into the night and spying for movement. His gaze lingered on questionable items and bundles, suspicious of possible traps. He wasn't exactly the most tactical soldier, preferring brute strength over pretty much anything, but he wasn't an idiot. Idiots don't last long in battle.

Little did Shadow know there was a tiny bat nearby him listening to his every word. It would appear Eggman has a double agent that works for the oldman. That is an interesting thing to know for future use. Unfortunately right now it was of no use to him until later. A breeze of wind shot up as Vaati reappeared on top of the warehouse wall that Shadow and Krexix was assigned to bring down all the way on the other side leaving getting to it a bit of an issue. He already took note of both of their positions and was now ready to strike back.

"Robin could not make it to play with you two," Vaati's voice echoed down the course. "However, this wind mage will be a much tougher opponent for you to take down. Now, let's see how you dance!" Vaati says before making a small tornado and sending it into some barrels and TNT Barrels. The Barrels dispersed from the tornado and flew straight at Krexix and Shadow, threatening to bash and blow them up with 2 barrels and a TNT Barrel for each of them flying straight in their direction. It would seem the thousands of barrels down the trail was his primary tools for use. If there are any more traps is not noticeable but the battle to get to the wall has begun.

From an advantage to a disadvantage, in the blink of an eye Shadow had been exposed. He heard the fluttering of wings and turned to see a bat listening to all he has been saying. He curses under his breath being foolish not to be more careful with his words and place of hiding. There was no way out of this now, his location has been found, and he had to reconcile immediately what his mistake of obliviousness had just cost him. Before he could crush the bat before him from listening further, he had already been honed in on from afar as a set of explosives come hurling his way. He gasps and leaps into the air curled up into his signature ball form to avoid the forthcoming objects, but he couldn't tell how fast they were moving exactly, which may have thrown him off, he was going to rely on sheer acrobatic ability to dodge these dangerous items.

The explosives missed by a mile as Shadow was able to properly maneuver into the air with no issue rolling over the bombs making them swoosh through the wind and explode behind him. Either way, he's definitely found out by now. He could stay and kill the bat that exposed him in a matter of seconds, but he had to find a new place to lay low. Striking the base now would be a bad move, he couldn't risk it. Shadow stays in his balled form and rolls along the roof tops of the buildings surrounding the base to find a more hidden place to observe the premises. If he was to be followed, he would have something for the pursuers to make them wish they never shadowed Shadow! The hedgehog makes many sharp turns and whirling motions to throw off any enemies on his trail and preps one of his items he had acquired long ago in case they got too close. He had to hide soon, or he may get more than just a few unwanted foes.

Shadow manages to find a tight alley to dive in and conceal himself, and he ducks behind a dumpster with just a small view of the base ahead. He would have to wait it out for a bit before going forward with the assault he had planned. He was ALMOST sweating from the adrenaline based chase he had just partaken in. He enjoyed the rush though, it had been a good while since he felt the thrill of a chase. "Come at me if you dare, fools." He whispered to himself as he continued waiting, his hands gripped on a particular item in case he was to be pursued again anytime soon.

The voice trailing down the alley snapped Krexix's four beady eyes onto the windy wizard. He snarled deeply, nostrils flaring. That wasn't who he was expecting, in fact, he had no clue who that even was. From this distance it was hard to say for sure but the blue and purple clad spokesman didn't look much like a lizard either. With a flick of his hand the air bowed to the stranger's whim, whipping around into a tornado and causing an unwanted disturbance in the objects littering the alley. Explosives hurdled their way towards him. Embarrassingly the oerix was unprepared, making a late attempt at diving out of the way only to find himself in perfect line with a barrel of TNT.

A wet crack rang through the air a second before the fiery explosion erupted in the alley. The force ripped open the other barrel's coming in near him causing a chain to light up around Krexix. The blast threw the heavy alien back, along with other items being blown around, a blackened singe sizzling off of each and every thing caught in the ball of fire and smoke. A haze hung in the air following, Krexix momentarily thankful for it as it would provide visual cover. Unfortunately he was quick to remember the element of which this mage had control over. He coughed. At least there was less immediately in his way down the road to the wall.

Krexix pulled himself to his feet, reaching down to grab the BFG 9000 that was resting along his upper thigh. It was good to have a gun in his hands again; as much as he enjoyed ripping things apart with his talons. For this situation range was necessary. The alien wasn't sure as to the position of the other agent trying to make their way to destroy this wall, but it seemed to him that perhaps that was for the best. Now he just needed to be as much of a hassle to this batty mage as he could possibly manage. In a powerful lunge the oerix set off down the alley, seeming to be making a foolish headstrong charge down the fortified path to the wall.

The bat tried to follow Shadow as best as it could so Vaati did not lose track of the troublesome hedgehog. With all these tricks and turns however it was hard to keep up and the bat nearly lost track. The eye bat flew around Shadow's hiding nook to see if it could spot the slippery hedgehog dark as night.

The eye bat almost did not notice the well hidden hedgehog but it managed to catch sight of his red colors in the darkness. The bat looks the other way however before giving away it saw Shadow. The bat looked in the wrong direction for a couple of seconds before appearing to fly away. However, what the bat was really going to do was sneak behind the dumpster, atop the building and attempted to push an exploding barrel down onto the Hedgehog's head.

The barrel pushing was a little difficult for the bat and made a bit of noise to give the hedgehog time to react.

Meanwhile Vaati observed the alien getting blown up but quickly recovering and rushing towards the wall with a big gun. Vaati moved his hand and flicked the wind to push a TNT Barrel over the Krexix's head. It was an odd manuver but it was made to distract the Krexix as it flew into the Oil Barrel in front of him to light it on fire with it's explosion. The Oil Barrel would soon explode powerfully if it was not evaded in time.

Thinking for sure he would be well hidden, Shadow is actually found out instead. He looks upwards and behind him and see's that infuriating bat creature once more with another explosive for him as it shuffled around on a rooftop and let loose a giant TNT barrel falling assuredly right for Shadow's head. The hedgehog again had to react on a whim and tries diving out of the way of the barrel and out from behind cover to save himself from a painful attack.

With disappointing results, Shadow seemed to have noticed the barrel falling towards him just a smidge too late. He manages to dive away from most of the impact, but as it exploded to the ground the blast radius was big enough to send Shadow's light body smashing into the wall of a building nearest him indenting the wall. Someone would have to fix that. He flops down onto his belly after smashing into the building with pieces of debris flaking off the wall and peeling off beside him. That bat was alot more annoying than expected, and now Shadow was going to have to deal with it personally. "You're a nuisance and you will lead me to your master!" Shadow stood up from the ground and took out a Metal Box, he smashed it open with his fist and suddenly transformed into pure metal being able to withstand more damage, and send foes flying alot easier in this form. Shadow then begins forging a bright green energy between his hands, and creates a lance of energy. He promptly throws it with a focused accuracy at the eye aiming to obliterate it with a Chaos Spear.

Another barrel was sent flying his direction. The oerix smirked, instantly noting that it was flying high. It wasn't hard to put together what was about to happen. Krexix continued down the path as if he hadn't caught on to the wind mage's ploy, then made a powerful lunge diagonally off to avoid the splattering of fiery oil once the barrels had collided. The heat swept across his back as he distanced himself from the explosion; or perhaps that was just him cloaking. The bulbs on his back activating and pulsing their own warmth along his body as he used the cover of the smoke from the explosion to hide his shift into invisibility. With all the crackling noise of wood and fire even his pounding footsteps would blend into the setting, giving him a good few seconds of anonymity to continue approaching the wall.

It seemed despite all the attention focused on himself the other agent had yet to make a move for the goal. This worried Krexix a little. Had the other not arrived just yet? Had they already been dealt with? His nostrils flared, not that it was visible. These were all things that wouldn't matter. All he could depend on was himself in this situation. The oerix, nearing the end of his few seconds of invisibility, dove behind a set of crates and barrels and lined up a shot at Vaati with the BFG. Considering how blusterous the cloaked mage was it wasn't hard to spot and lock in a good shot. Krexix fired.

The eye from the skies was proud of itself as it successfully hit it's target. The Hedgehog seemed to not be speedy enough to avoid that attack. The bat was caught off guard however when the Hedgehog suddenly turned into a metal form of himself. Was he trying to make himself an easier target to hit by lowering his speed. It was no matter as the bat suddenly saw a glow in Shadow's palm and knew it might be time for evasive action.

The bat was not fast enough to evade the spear of chaos and got shot right in the eye. The bat weakly fluttered around for a bit before disintegrating into darkness. It would appear Shadow has gotten rid of the thing that was meant to keep an eye on him. How long this would last before another is made is questionable though so it may be time to move fast.

Vaati watched as his trick seemed to have been seen through. As he was plotting his next move the alien suddenly vanished from sight! "Wh-what?! Where did that alien go?!" Vaati kept his trained eye on the path trying to locate his target.

"Ah, there you are," the wind mage concluded as he noticed a small distortion in the light hinting some thing was there. That would not be enough to prepare him for the expertly aimed BFG Shot however. Though his time frame was small, it would be better to evade than try and block the hit. Vaati was not exactly a sturdy individual.

Vaati had no time to prepare as he was blasted square in the chest with a heaping wad of Plasma. The Mage flew backwards and disappeared from sight as if he was knocked off the wall. This did not last forever however as he suddenly reappeared above Krexix in a gust of wind. "That was a pretty neat trick. However that will hardly stop a great and powerful wind mage like myself. But since you were so kind to show me a trick, allow me to show you one in return!" Vaati said with his voice growing more menacing as he finished. He attempted to whip up a tornado in Krexix's location and pull him into it if he evaded. As a kick the tornado was also dragging in the barrels around Krexix that would attempt to knock him into the tornado and get assualted by the barrels inside or deal extra damage if the tornado works by itself.

Shadow was now powered up and in metal form craving to inflict more pain on someone. After destroying the annoying eye, Shadow shot a stare around the premises to see where the creator of the eye spy could be. He begins to run, though at a slower pace than usual in his metal form, and inspects the surrounding area for any sign of the true enemy.

It was no use really, he just wasn't fast enough to find the culprit responsible for attacking him. He does manage to hear something though, some explosions and he even sees a giant tornado being crafted at the other side of the premises and whipped around. That must be where his target is located. Shadow tries desperately to fight through all that extra metal weight and pick up the pace to go after the enemy.

He speeds up somewhat, and makes it three quarters of the way there. He is able to find a wall to hide behind as this tornado encounter continues on about a mile away. He doesn't quite make it to the location this was true, but he was able to see a short purple outfitted elf attacking an alien beast of some kind, which creature was the one that attacked him he cannot say for sure, but he was debating to take a risk and attack them both with a surprise strike if he could. He decides against it and stays hidden for the moment trying not to clang or clink in his metal form to draw any attention.

He doesn't hide very well and kind of breathes heavy. But maybe the fighting creatures would be distracted enough with eachother not to notice him just yet. He stays put.

The alien's smug grin quickly dropped into a scowl as the magician's voice rang out from right above him. His eyes snapped upward and before he could do anything he could feel the wind shifting around him. Within a second he suddenly found himself in the center of a whipping tornado. Instinctively Krexix lowered his center of gravity and made use of his incredible weight to avoid loosing his footing to the pull of the whirlwind. A grumble rippled in his throat as his mind raced. The barrels and cover he had been by wasn't fairing nearly as well against the pull of the tornado, which would mean in a moment he'd find himself being battered around. There wasn't much choice then.

Krexix's elytra flicked open and, already in a crouched position, used Vaati's own winds against him by letting the upward draft aid in his ascent. This would allow him to avoid the first sweep of barrels entering the tornado but beyond that it was a toss up. If the wind mage wasn't able to react fast enough Krexix would be in reach and attempting to grapple. If all went well the oerix would bring the tiny magician in for a rather unpleasant hug. If not, well, Krexix would worry about that in a moment.
