It was a bright sunny day in the jungle. Quite nice. No reason to perform an investigation in the dark of night after all. This part of the jungle had a nice beachside village though it was pretty abandoned and had weeds and weird red plants everywhere. The Mansion of the only human resident in this village was in the far back.

The Mansion had a open gate and was approximately 3 stories. In the courtyard was a flowerbed with various flowers of different colors and a large fountain. The front door was strangely locked and it looked surprisingly durable. You could probably break in but there could be a spare key somewhere. Breaking in would take considerable Strength as well as possible risks.... Like Breaking a nail. *Drum Cymbals*

She had a rough time getting here but Paula managed to make it to her mission location.

However before she could get to the mansion Paula crossed the village..Or what was left of it as she observed the abandoned and weed filled buildings and noticed the weirdly red coloured flowers that were sprouting everywhere, she looked sad at the state the village was in. "This is sad, i could imagine this village being filled with happy go lucky animals if Mr Slider is anything to go by..I hope they got out of the village and found shelter somewhere on this planet instead of being possibly kidnapped by a guy who may or may not exist..I don't want to walk into a room in this mansion and find.." Paula did not want to imagine what happens next.


Soon enough she reached the mansion and was surprised to see the huge difference of the mansion, she was expecting it to be more ruined then the village, but she was amazed at its still beauty and continued to walk towards it, with each step she took she observed her surroundings. "What a nice mansion, but it makes me feel uneasy." She thought to herself as she made it to the door, she tried to open it but was surprised to find it locked. "I don't want to waste my strength, maybe there's a key somewhere." Paula thought again as she looked around the area for any key..If there was one that is.

Paula sighed as she couldn't find the key, so she gave up for now and stood near the gate to wait for Cynder and Adell, hopefully when her allies get here they can find the key more easily..Or break the door down.1d20+3

The unfortunate part of the jungle was the difficulty of flying through it. The dragoness bounded through the beaten pathways that led to the village of interest, gliding a little ways here and there to avoid the muddier parts of the trail. Of course it wasn't perfect and she found herself sliding into some gunk on occasion, of which angry curses permeated the air thereafter, but overall the travel wasn't so bad. Soon enough the overgrown town and illustrious mansion looming at its back were in clear sight.

"Finally..." Cynder mumbled to herself as she slowed her pace to weave through the thick vines and overgrowth spidering its way between the abandoned buildings. It was a rather eerie place but at least it wasn't full of infected; as far as she knew. Eventually the familiar pink dress of a friendly blond girl caught the dragoness' attention. Uplifted with the ally presence Cynder took to the air, keeping low and dodging outstretched vegetation, but it was faster than running along the ground. During her approach it was hard not to notice the pristine condition of the large building. If Paula wasn't already on its doorstep the dark dragon would have hesitated passing by enormous blackened gates. Even with her flight getting over top those things would be difficult thanks to the encroaching trees and vines.

Slowing herself, Cynder landed in the massive courtyard gawking at the sheer enormity of the area. The jungle trees were huge and thick but this was something else.
"Hey there!" she greeted the psychic, tucking her leathery wings into her body. "This place is a bit unbelievable..." a secondary comment escaped Cynder's internal thoughts as her eyes continued jumping from each feature of the yard. A giant fountain, a bunch of potted and bedded vegetation... Her gaze deviated to the mansion afterward, inspecting the windows most of all.

Adell jumped through the trees of the forest, he was starting to get a hang of this trick called "Wall Jumping." He had learned it during his mission to save the leaders, and was actually quite fond of it, it made traversing through jungles easier, as he couldn't move at the speeds he used to when he could use "No Way Out" A move that he was working his way towards learning again. But in the mean time, this was a mission he needed to get done, after all, on missions there tended to be enemies, and with enemies came XP, and with XP came levels, and with levels came new moves. Or Mana if he needed to find an Evility Scholar, which he may do.

Either way, he had finally arrived, and he weaved and dodged through the fauna, until he came upon the mansion, and two familiar allies. But, he'd only caught the name of one of them in his mission with her,  and that was simply when he was originally going to be a distraction in case the stealth team messed up. Yeah, that had been a bust, but he'd gotten to meat Paula, which was a plus. He ran up to them and smiled, "Hey guys, looks like it's just us three. Um, Dragon, person, I don't think we ever actually gave each other our names. I'm Adell. Now that we've got the intro out of the way, let's find a way in, shall we?"

With that, Adell turned towards the large door. He could easily bust it down, assuming it wasn't reinforced, but what if there was a key? That would be simpler, and cause less of a ruckus, and have even less of a chance to draw infected towards this area. He mulled over his options a minute and made up his mind to search for the key first, as there were two possible options for it to be. First there was a plant or under a rug, which he would check first. If not, he'd promptly jump into the air and check the door frame just in case.

However, his rather well informed guess was a bust, and he decided it was time to resort to what he was best at, breaking things down with his fists. He walked towards the door, and cracked his knuckles, smirking, and then set to work, unleashing a quick barrage of punches, which unfortunately weren't quite enough to trigger a new move to arise itself, which was partly his intention, but that was a matter for another time, as he set to work once more.

The windows seemed like they were blocked by furniture to keep light from getting in so they were not very viable options. The other two seemed to have trouble with the front door. The door held against Adell's attempts pretty firmly. From  the distance footsteps could be heard. "Fancy meeting you here, Ms. Paula," The familiar voice of a purple shy guy said. The Purple Shy Guy with his top hat with it's own mask and his cane.

"You three looks like you may need help getting in, lucky I am here. Hm?" The gamble guy looked at the fountain. "There appears to be something shiny in there," the guy said before fishing out a key with his cane. "Such a simple hiding place yet hard to predict. Let's get in shall we?" The strange shy guy said, sticking the key in the lock and unlocking the door. "I have to visit the village first but I may be back. Be careful, he probably knows you're here," Any attempt at turning around to look at him for his strange comment was in vain as he disappeared.

Well, the door was open now at least. The entrance was a nice room with 3 adjacent rooms and stairs leading up and down. This house looked big so splitting up seems a good option. It's not like anything is here, right?

This room was fairly big with Halloween themed furniture everywhere. There seemed nothing in paticular of interest in this room besides a cabinet smelling sweet with candy. There was a room to the left smelling like a kitchen, the middle room was pretty shiny and there was a cold feeling in the right. Downstairs smelled a bit stinky for some reason. Upstairs had no paticular hint to what was up there.

Paula watched as Cynder landed at the entrance of the mansion and greeted the psychic warmly, Paula greeted back. "Hi Cynder, yeah it is unbelievable. But i kinda feel uneasy, but that could just be me thinking of the worst. Hopefully this Villager kidnapping people is just a rumour and that all the Villagers are safe somewhere." Paula said to the Dragoness while eyeing the windows before looking back at the locked door.


Just then she caught eye of the her next team mate to appear, Adell the tie wearing boy who remembered Paula back during the mission to save the Leaders from that dreadful Black shadow. "Its nice to see you again Adell, glad to see your ok after what happened in the Extraction Point." She said to him as she watched Adell try..And failed to get into the mansion, she walked up to him. "I tried to find the spare key earlier..I checked everywhere but to no anvil..Apart from that Fountain over there but it had strange liquid in it, i dident want to touch it in case it was some kind of Starvia." Paula said to the Red Haired Boy.


Just then the three were greeted by a fourth person, this time the strange shy guy from Nintendoland. "Oh your that shy guy who was at the Pizzeria, are you here to help us?" Paula said to the Shy guy..Who did help them by fishing out the key from the fountain and opening the door. "Thank you kind masked man." Paula said to the Shy-Guy who disappeared soon after to the abandoned village for his own needs.

Paula stood near her teammates inside the mansion and looked around the area, catching eye at the Halloween decorations. "It seems something had happened during a Halloween party." she said looking at the three doors and stairs leading both ways..Along with the cabinet that had a scent of candy, looks like this part needs to be decided by a vote.

"Ok we don't know what we will be dealing with so i suggest we stay together and leave the expolreing up to votes, i vote to go downstairs to investigate the smell..What do you guys think we should do?" Paula said waiting for Cynder and Adells opinions.

It seemed Paula was a very popular individual; everyone knew her. The dragon's already amused smile at watching the red head grew wider when the friendly Shy Guy fished the key out from the fountain. It was mildly embarrassing that they hadn't found something that easy but she would defend herself by noting she was busy trying to scout the higher floors. Not that any defensive banter was even necessary.

When the door was opened she craned her neck around to give thanks but found the mysterious robed gnome was already gone. Briefly her eyes roamed around for any sign but found nothing. That was mildly unsettling. If Paula didn't already know him as a friendly Cynder would be worried. Instead she entered behind the two humanoids and set her attention back to the mansion and task at hand. Sniffing the air heavily she found herself near the sweetly cabinet. The dark dragon assessed the large container. Considering the apparent Halloween festivities the smell of candy wasn't too surprising.

"Sticking together when we're investigating a place rumored to have people go missing via possible psychopath sounds like a great plan," started Cynder, laying out their situation as if there was possibility someone would insist on splitting up. For a moment the dragoness twisted her neck around to view her allies and added to her statement. "I wouldn't mind clearing this floor first in case we need a hasty retreat." As Adell added his input to the cast Cynder made to open the cabinet expecting to find tons of the sweet stuff inside.

Adell rubbed the back of his head, embarresed that he hadn't been able to figure out such a simple hiding spot. "Thanks for the help, man. I think we might have been stuck her all day if you hadn't shown up." Adell took note of the size of the door, and promptly threw another punch to test his theory, and sure enough, it went clean through like the door was made out of pure butter. How the hell couldn't he beat this door down a moment ago? Either way he removed his door and agreed with Cynder and Paula, if there was a crazed murderer in this house, their best chance was to stick together and gang up on him. 

"Stickin together is definately the best choice her, so what do you guys say to clearing things up?" With that said he began to start picking up furniture and moving it to the walls in the room, so that they'd be out of the way. He even managed to occasionally scrape himself, but it was nothing severe. As he moved the last piece of furniture out of the way he looked around, wondering where the best place to start would be.

It would seem the general consideration was clearing out the first floor. Cynder's consideration to check the cabinet did show that it was full of candy. Candy of many colors... and by many, we mean about 3. Besides the candy however, was a picture of a pumpkin headed man that had the name Jack on the back. There was some strange feeling emoted from the picture, like sadness and guilt, the kind you can not forgive. Uncovering this may of been good or bad.

As for Adell, moving the pumpkin esque furniture did not do much. It did not show anything besides a few cockroaches. The doors did end up slamming and somehow being repaired behind them however. No amount of brute force would open them either, looks like the front door can not be an escape option.

As Adell moved things around, a man jumped out of the couch with an axe. It would seem he was either waiting or could irony teleport. No matter what he was hit with, it seemed to do nothing but slow him down a bit. The best option may be to run. He did not seem in a talking mood either as he swinged his axe at Adell.

Paula looked at the stairs that would lead to the lower floors of the mansion..It did look creepy. She soon turned back to Cynder and Adell, "yeah i guess your right we should look around this floor first, besides in case something dose happen we would know that this floor would probably be safe when we check it enough." Paula said as she followed Cynder to the cabinet with the candy smell coming from it..As she watched Cynder open the cabinet the two would find..A closet with candy inside..And a picture of a man named Jack with a pumpkin on his head.


"This picture looks sad..Do you think he owned this mansion?" Paula said to Cynder since Adell was busy moving furniture, speaking of which Paula turned to hear Adell asking to help move some of the furniture, "Oh yeah sure i'll help, i'll move the shelf's that contain valuables, even though this mansion seems abandoned i don't like to see things valuable get broken." Paula said as she walked to a shelf near the couch and was to push it to a nearby wall..When she noticed something coming from the couch..It looked like..!


Soon a Boy with an axe jumped out from behind the couch, sparking a grin..Could this be the rumoured Villager that was kidnapping people from the Village? He seemed interested in Adell as he tried to slash into him..At a very good range, Paula was shocked for a brief second before shaking her and taking out her pan, she ran towards the Villager so she can hit him before his axe can come into contact with Adell, "Your not slashing people when im around." Paula said as she whacked the pan on the Villagers head..Only for him to resist it, making Paulas face blue in fear as she took steps back, "ok were dealing with a much bigger threat then i imagined." Paula said in fear as she ran towards Adell and grabbed his hand, hopefully by now he would of also realised that the Villager seemed to resist the trios movesets, "Quick upstairs! We can lose him somewhere up there." Paula said as she ran to the stairs leading up the way, she stopped to wait for Cynder and Adell..I mean of course she's not leaving her friends behind with a lunatic kid who had a giant axe..Have i heard this before?

With the cabinet open the dragoness inhaled deeply. She almost immediately regretted it with the stagnant aroma and mild dust overpowering her nostrils, causing half a sneeze and a shake of her head. Quickly she recomposed herself and investigated the full contents of the cabinet. A bunch of candy; check. A picture? "Interesting..." she muttered as she reached out to take it. It had an uncanny resemblance to one of the Jack Brothers, or maybe her memory of the kidnapping incident was being rewritten with this new visage. It was hard to say. Cynder stuffed the thing into her iron collar and closed the cabinet before padding over to the living room where the other two were doing laboring at fixing the place up.

Just as she poked her head around the threshold she heard surprised gasps and Paula charging into action. Cynder's muscles tensed as the pan rang off of the Villager's perfectly rounded head. A shiver went down her spine and made her tail twitch. The dark dragon was already on skittering upstairs when she saw the psychic grab Adell and head for the stairway. There was no way she was playing ring around the rosey with that guy and if she was to be chased it wasn't going to be through the basement. Unfortunately the place was a little small for her to boost herself up the stairs with her wings, but bounding up a few steps at a time wasn't too terrible.

Once she was upstairs she made a quick scan of the place they entered. Should it be a hallway she was going left, if possible, but if it was a room there was no reason not to start running through to the farthest exit and hope it wasn't a door to a closet.

Adell was caught off guard when he heard Paula start pushing the cabinet. He was perfectly fine with putting it against the walls on his own, but he wasn't going to turn down help. As she stated that was when he picked up the couch, grunting. It was heavier than he expected, but he could manage. As he went to carry it to the side of the room, he heard the doors slam and watched as they repaired themselves. Whatever was here clearly didn't want them to leave, he could figure that much out. His eyes narrowed as he witnessed that. Then he felt the weight of the couch move, and he looked towards it, his eyes widening as he saw the villager swing his axe.

Adell quickly raised his arms to counter the axe, the couch dropping and causing dust to fly around the room in a plume of the stuff. As the dust would clear, they'd see that the warrior had managed to stop the axe, but not before it had managed to embed itself half an inch into his skull. Adell smirked as blood began to drip down his face, and his eyes moved to meet with the Villager's. "Didn't your mother ever teach you manners?" As the man said this, a fire seemed to light up in his eyes, and he tore away from the axe, blood sticking to the weapon. He then rushed the Villager, throwing a fist into the Villager's face, only for the hit to bounce off.

Then the loud, "PANG" from Paula's frying pan. It hadn't even dazed the Villager! Let alone hurt it! Suddenly the realization of what they were dealing with sunk in, and Adell was in shock, his blood dripping from his chin onto the floor, as a streak of the stuff had gone down his face, threatening to get into his eye. He was stunned as he just stared at the Villager, only to be grabbed by Paula and torn away from this terrifying beast of a psycho. The young Psychic had torn Adell out of his daze, and he began to rush up the stairs, trying to figure out which way to go, while also tearing off a bit of his shirt to use as a rag to stop the bleeding.

The villager merely shrugged off getting panned. He was shocked however by Adell being able to stop the ax and flinched from the punch though he quickly recovered. The flinch however did give them enough time to flee upstairs, though the dragging of metal and hurried feet cued the Villager was in pursuit.

The upstairs was quite the contrast to the downstairs. This room was christmas themed as it would seem with an entire Jingle Set of Furniture. There was also a few types of pianos and an organ but with the chase, there was little time to closer inspect. There was 3 doors and Cynder seemed intent on hurrying to the other side.

This room was different from the rest somehow. It actually looked well maintained, not a single bug in site. The walls had cute yellow pawprints and the furniture seemed to share yellow and blue color concepts with dog pawprints. There was a picture of a yellow dog on the stand next to the bed with the name Isabelle on it. For some reason this picture seemed different from Jack's, giving a happier... more forgiving vibe. In any case, upon entering the room, the footsteps stopped and there was a few movements outside before the Villager could be heard walking off. For some reason, it seems he does not wish to enter this room.

(The Isabelle room is the only safe place in the mansion. No one but the Smash Brothers may enter and pursuits stop on reaching it as well as the Villager not being able to spawn here. It may not always be reliable though, so do not count on it saving you too often.)

Paula waited until both Adell and Cynder were upstairs before heading up herself, even if waiting risks her facing the Villagers merciful axe. Fortunately she was fast enough to catch up to the boy and Dragoness before the Villager got to her. She quickly looked around upstairs observing the Christmas theme before following Cynder to a yellow paw printed room, she noticed more doors upstairs which gave her an idea that she could use later..But not right now since the Villagers hot on there trail.


Paula closed the door once everyone was in the room, she heard the footsteps of the villager coming closer..And closer..Until...They grew distant? "It sounds like..Hes leaving? But i thought he saw us run in here?" Paula said quietly to her other two team mates, once the footsteps were not heard anymore she took a deep breath after what just occurred, "Should we..Check to see if he's still out there?" Paula said to Cynder and Adell sounding a bit more louder now.

Skittering up the stairs, claws raking harshly against the wooden floors, Cynder barely had time to even register the appalling red and green combination decorating the immediate room she'd entered. Her mind ablaze with racing thoughts of escape everything became a blur expect the choice of three doors. The dragoness darted across the room and grabbed the knob to open the furthest door, briefly registering that her allies were following. With a little panicked difficulty she managed to get the door open and slip through. Her head rapidly moved back and forth searching for more doors; but there were none.

About in the center of the bright yellow room, heart pounding against her chest and up her throat, she attempted to look for any hiding spots. No closets, small dressers, no hampers... there was under the bed but with all her spiny parts she was unlikely to fit. Cynder puffed out her chest and stopped her hurried scuffling around the room, ending up near the bed and staring at the picture on the night stand. The cute puppy dog had a somewhat calming effect. That or the dragoness was coming to terms with being backed into a corner.

Her tail flicked against the soft carpet of the room, catching some of the loose fibers and ripping some of the fluff up into the air of her tail's wake. Cynder slowly released her held breath and turned back around to the door and Paula, eyes flitting momentarily to Adell ready to pick up the bed.
"I opt for leaving it closed until we have a plan," the dragoness spoke with a light, but rapid, series of nervous nods.
