[Maverick Hunter Zero]

The vast ruins of Mario's realm was a desolate place at night, but Dawn was fast aproachinga Dawn that welcomed a new face to its desecrated environment.

A Lone Reploid stood at the edge of the city that was now a shell of its former glory, swathed in his usual brown traveling cloak, Zero looked out at the horizon and narrowed his eyes as he was very interested in why a Maverick would go stealing from the Toad Bros. Bazaar and hoard the ill-gotten plunder within these ruins.

"They should be here any moment." Zero said as he crossed his arms and waited for those who would participate in this mission, one of whom he personally helped Game & Watch in capturing.

Waluigi didn’t enjoy the notion of returning to his desecrated home, no one did. The real kicker though, he didn’t have a choice on the matter. Whether he liked it or not he was going to be dragged along on this mission and he had to be on his best behaviour too because of the drone they sent on with him. Waluigi has been outside of the Life Sphere before and he’s been on a mission or two, so why did he need a babysitter suddenly? Maybe it was because the boss of the mission was one of his captors. Of course, Waluigi gets punished for something as little as stealing food and knocking down a statue, but Zero got away with near murder on several accounts because he was supposedly doing the right thing? The world was never fair to Waluigi.

A.I.M. on the other hand was more so focused on keeping the plumber within its grasp from falling to the ground below. It was much faster for the robot to just fly them both there instead of walking, so that’s what it did. It was quite the sight to see Waluigi’s spaghetti arms being wrung around the ROB copy’s erect ones. The duo were quite silent by themselves, the whistling of the machine’s engine was about all that could be heard for a good while. Until Waluigi opened his mouth that is. “That’s him down there! You can let go now!” the purple cladded felon instructed the robot.

“Acknowledged” the sage synthetic answered as it spread its arms apart as it rarely did. Within seconds, Waluigi plummeted to the ground below but despite the panicked look on his face he was able to land quite decently on his feet. With that, he grinned a nasty smile and began to approach the one who organized the mission, A.I.M. followed not too far behind. “Unit Zero, Waluigi has been collected, where is the final member of this team?”

Wind began to pick up around the team as a large purple dragon began to descend among them. his eyes seemed completely glossed over in yellow, resembling a peaceful nature...at the moment at least. He sat, similar to a gargoyle, his wings folding up onto his back, ridley examined the rest of the team, scoffing.

"Remember this. I hate all of you, some more then others. I am only here for a good challenge and the reward you have promised." Ridley stated bluntly. "I hope you all are at least capable of doing some form of damage. The only capable looking of you is the red armor guy...even then, im sure he's gonna wind up tripping over his damn hair." Ridley said, shaking his head. "Whatever...lets just get to work. where do we go."

Zero looked at his associates in a calm manner, his eyes glancing at Waluigi, then shifted to A.I.M., then finaly to the Zebesian Space Dragon; Ridley.

"I'm glad you three could make it here on such short notice, since you are new to this line of work, the job is simple, yet at the same time, arduous in its entirity. We are to hunt down and bring Spark Mandrill to justice, We may have to put the maverick out of its misery through combat. Other than that, we must also get back the items he stole from the Toad Brothers Bazaar back in the Life Sphere." Zero said, his eyes looking at Waluigi.

Zero turned to A.I.M. and knealt down so he was looking at the sage machine. "Do you happen to have any info on the Maverick I mentioned, because that will be essential for the success of this mission." he asked in a calm manner, hoping that he could get this job done quickly.

Waluigi should have known that A.I.M. would have reacted to his instructions in the way it did, as smart as robots seemed they were as stupid as dogs. The purple plumber listened to the leader of this parade, but only out of necessity. Zero was the reason behind his ‘community service’ after all. Him, Game & Watch, and that other red cladded folk were on his list. At the moment though, there was that robot breathing down his neck and two against one in the middle of nowhere weren’t good odds for Waluigi. That is unless the new fellow wanted in on the action, but his inherent arrogance suggested he wasn’t interested in an alliance.

Waluig was somewhat insulted that the dragon-alien beast didn’t see him as imposing, but comparatively he was no contest to Ridley. The sinister plumber glared back at the lankier and purpler felon. “Oh yeah? Big talk lizard lips, I’ve never even heard of you. You wanna try and play badass than you gotta take it up with Megaman’s girlfriend over here” Waluigi spat back at the alien as he pointed to Zero. “I’m not saying he has you beat, I’m just saying you’re both pathetic for trying.”

A.I.M. shook its head as it listened to the babbling going on between the shadier members of their group. This mission was going to be a bumpy one wasn’t it? Regardless of how hard it would be to defeat and capture Spark Mandrill himself, trying to coordinate a team out of what the machine was provided was going to be problematic. Both of Ridley’s and Waluigi’s verbal hostility towards one another wasn’t going to see an end if A.I.M.’s predictions were calculated correctly.

The bot turned its optics back toward Zero has he posed an inquiry to the machine. Spark Mandrill, not a very infamous figure around the Life Sphere, but A.I.M.’s Smashdar could no doubt shed some light onto the situation. It was questionable why the Maverick Hunter didn’t do his own research on the suspect, but Zero didn’t look to be the type to sit down and read a book. It processed the name and finally came to an answer. “Unit Spark Mandrill, loyal follower of Sigma. Primary weapons, interchangeable drill bit, fists, and electricity. 10 feet tall and 646 pounds. Intelligence level: low” the mechanism read off.

Ridley's eyes looked at waluigi, a chuckle escaping his beak. "Oh really? Tell me...What do you command? i command a entire race of space pirates...I have taken over entire planets...You look like the only thing you've taken over is your mothers make up kit." Ridley sighed, hearing A.I.M's sum up of who spark mandrill was. 

"A small target, and a stupid one as well...I don't think there will be a problem." Ridley looked at zero. "Well then, lead us robot. " Ridley seemed almost disappointed at what spark mandrill was, as he sounded weak. Sure, spark mandril would be huge for them, but ridley towered over most.

"True, Let us do it to it!" Zero said, Even as he took to moving into the ruins of the desolate place, motioning the group to follow him so the mission get underway, Zero felt as usual that he was being watched, but most ironicly... it wasn't the Maverick that was watching.


The moment Zero got within the city limits, two things occured in rapid succession, the first being an explosion, the second being the sound of a voice that could make even Waluigi's blood run colder than Chill Penguin's Shotgun Ice attack. "Well, look who just dropped on in. I guress that reploid was right on the money when he heard that little mushroom man tell the cops about the thefts." It was none other than the renegade Ex-Maverick Hunter; Vile, and he had his shoulder mounted cannon aimed right at Ridley!

With little hesitation, Vile opened fire upon the Zebesian Dragon.

Waluigi chuckled at the dragon’s returned quip. Given his bestial appearance he wasn’t expecting anything that clever to spew out of his mouth, but he seemed to have a smart tongue. He’s heard better comebacks though, so he shrugged it off without much reaction to it. “Wheh, if you really command space pirates then answer me this, what are you doing grunt work for? I don’t command anything, but I’m not here praising my own pride.” the lanky man continued to taunt regardless of his overseer’s glares. The thing was a robot so it was really hard to tell if it was staring at him or giving him the evil eye. That was his primary hate with working with machines, it was near impossible to read them. Unless they had a humanoid face like Zero anyway.

The group continued on their journey through the ruined Mushroom Kingdom, the passing of old landmarks that Waluigi was familiar with gave him goosebumps. He hated this mission over the many others he’d been put up to do, not only were they being leaded by an android he despised, but they were venturing through a soft spot in the plumber’s heart. He showed no change in emotion externally, but every time they passed by an old golf course or brick house he wept internally a little. He chose to fold his arms over his chest and kept a wicked grin on his face regardless.

It wasn’t until a new body made their presence that it switched up the situation a little. A lone robot that looked an awful lot like Zero except with a different fashion sense. Waluigi cackled at the machine’s words regardless of how intimidating he wanted to seem. “Wha haha! Why don’t you turn back now, you mercenary reject! Even against one of us your odds are slim!” Waluigi taunted as he pulled out his bat. The purple android for whatever reason decided to only focus on one target and that just so happened to be Ridley. Considering that left three attackers open to strike against him, the odds were not in his favour. Waluigi stomped the ground and unleashed a series of his throne covered vines to whip the machine violently as he ran away from the target to get a better angle for his next attack.

A.I.M. felt the same sentiments as Waluigi toward the new arrival. Something this android seemed to share with Spark Mandrill was his lack of intelligence. Since all his fire was attracted to Ridley, the ROB clone took to the skies with a simple blast of its exhaust. Once in the air, the machine targeted Vile’s main canon since it was the only mode of attack he seemed to possess. It released a focused Robo-laser at the gun in hopes to damage it and even possibly incapacitate it if A.I.M. was lucky. As for Ridley, there wasn’t much for the robot to do to protect him, so the purple dragon was on his own.

Ridley screeched, resisting to laugh and he took to the skies with his mighty wings thrashing. All of vile's attacks hit ridley dead on, making him take damage but none of it visible. He's taken enough of samus's plasma beams to let his natural armor resist large amounts of heavy fire. Ridley then swooped into Vile head on, firing a huge bolt of plasma energy dead on at him! Everyone seemed to be rushing for the same strategy as Ridley had thought, with ridley being the tank as everyone goes for damage.

Vile managed to dodge both Waluigi's and A.I.M.'s assaults by avoiding them, but unfortunately met a scorching ball of plasma coutesy of the one he struck, the next moment, Vile jumped and dropped a 'Bumpity-Boom' to attack Waluigu, and a few shots from his Cannon at A.I.M. At this point; Zero had struck, using a Senpuukyaku to launch himself into the back of Vile's head. "We don't have time for the likes of you, Vile, but I wouldn't say no to claiming the fat bounty on your head for the good of the Life Sphere!" Zero said, his eyes narrowed at Vile. "Oh yeah; I'd really like to see you try!" Vile retorted, knowing that he and Zero were still mutual enemies regardless of what happened between them.

Waluigi was irked by the fact that his vines sailed right past the singular enemy. For whatever reason that attack always seemed to miss the target regardless of how quickly he used it. The mustached man thought nothing more of it and grimaced at Vile as he launched some sort of bomb from his knee that began to tumble its way toward Waluigi’s feet. Before it could reach the range of his body, the purple plumber still had his bat gripped in his hands so he swung directly at the timed explosive caring little about the fact that it might be touch sensitive since it didn’t seem to explode when it hit the ground. He shot the explosive directly back at the one who threw it despite the fact that Zero was within the range of its blast. Call it a happy accident.

“Hey, maybe next time you should make a more reliable bomb!” the wicked brother pestered ending with his nasally laugh. “Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it!” the cretin continued to cackle. Waluigi had the utmost confidence that this battle was going to be a short one. Regardless of how strong this enemy actually was, it was still four against one.

Unfortunately A.I.M.’s targeting system seemed to be somewhat wonky and the villainous machine managed to dodge its precision strike. In return for the robot’s faulty shot, Vile sprayed a couple bullets its way through his turret gun. If the machine was more fortunate, the attack could have been avoided and the mercenary’s main weapon would have been debunked, but it supposed that it shouldn’t waste its time calculating the possibilities of a more successful future. Given that the machine was vulnerable in the air, it took the bolts to the chest of its chassis.

The machine being hit caused it to become somewhat unstable in the air, but it soon corrected itself and honed its optics on the enemy once more. He seemed to be getting clustered with attacks, but that didn’t stop A.I.M. from adding on to the carnage. The machine pulled out a gyro and charged it while it maneuvered around the skies until it was perfectly atop the enemy and dropped the spin top like it was a bombshell.

Ridley took up into the skies once more, circling around the group as they battled before Ridley swooped in to vile, and firing off a Plasma Stream attack right on top of him before flying up once again. Ridley glared at this purple armored man, named vile, inspecting everything he could and his uncanny resemblance to Samus. Ridley then found what would be best to attack as he then swooped in from the right to attack vile once again, aiming to bite that large cannon of his right off with his gaping bite. 

Ridley, missing or not then returned to the air where he was most comfortable as he kept his eyes looking at Vile and awaiting his next move. "This is getting to be boring" He hissed as he kept his glare on Vile. Ridley started making his Whip-like tail spin around the back of him, waiting for a moment to lash out at vile once more.

"Trust me, Ridley. You'd have a fun time of it than I would if you had to fight Sigma one on one." Zero said as he landed, and aimed a Shoryuuken at the very place Ridley attacked, which caused Vile to retaliate by punching the Maroon Machine and firing a Homing Torpedo at the Zebesian Dragon as his shoulder- mounted cannon was now wrecked.

"You fools done it this time!" Vile said in a fit of rage, summoning his Ride Armor and hopping into the cockpit. He then charged strate at the Purple Plumber and delivered a hard punch to him with enough force to launch him into the nearest wall, which happened to be the wall of the very place that Spark Mandrill had hidden all of his Ill-gotten plunder.

NOTES: Waluigi now has a choice, should he leave the plunder and get revenge on Vile with Waluigi Party, or let A.I.M. know the location of the plunder and retaliate with his ultimate now that Vile is in his Ride Armor.

Apparently the bomb that Waluigi chucked back at the villainous machine was a dud, of course the old Waluigi luck came through. He supposed that did make sense as to why it didn’t blow up in his face when he swung it back Vile’s way. With his bat still well placed in hands, he decided thrown down a bit more of close ranged combat. His move set was better for close range anyway, he was never much of a long range fighter. As he charged for the purple Zero looking machine, a gigantic mech suit appeared from seeming nowhere to aid the mercenary in his battle. Why didn’t he use that to begin with? It wasn’t like the android was trying to hold an element of surprise. Perhaps he had his own twisted reasons, like he was trying to show it off like a shiny new toy or something.

Anyway, the purple plumber was the first to test out its strength and with that he was punch straight into the nearest building with enough force to puncture a wall apparently. As Waluigi began to rise from the rubble and dust himself off he held a despicable grimace on his face. “Wheh, lucky shot. Anyone else get hit by that they would have been just fine, but of course Waluigi gets flung into somebody’s living room” the renown athlete complained as he investigated the room through the corner of his eye. A few glimmering prizes caught his eye though. “Well then, maybe Waluigi gets lucky after all.”

While revenge did seem like a nice tactic to pull, Waluigi didn’t really care for the outcome of this mission. He was forced upon it, it wasn’t like he actually cared about being recognized as a hero. Maybe this could be his secret stash, when he finally was off probation maybe he could come back and reclaim it. If he didn’t get caught, why not? Nobody could see him anyway. He summoned vines to sprout from the earth and the purple greenery pulled down some rubble and clutter to hide his newly found prizes. Frankly he didn’t even know what the mission was about and even if he was told he had long forgotten by now.

It would seem that yet again A.I.M.’s gyros were almost completely ineffective against its foes. Unfortunate, the machine should really update its weapons to make them far more efficient than they actually were. The sudden appearance of the giant suit was something to be feared, unfortunately for Vile the machine couldn’t comprehend fear. That and many other emotions, but that was beside the point. Since long range seemed to be rather ineffective against the android, the sage synthetic would have to switch up tactics and go for something more close ranged.

Since the machine within a machine was putting all its attention toward their untrustworthy partner, that left a good opening for the robot. It made a b-line toward Vile’s location and allowed a burst of flames exit its exhaust and flicker about the android’s machine.

Ridley couldn't shake the missile that was fired at him, a burst of smoke covering the zebesian dragon as he was hit. Ridley fell from the skies as it them made a last move to dive bomb twoard vile and his Mech, firing a plasma shot at the large mobile machine before hitting the ground. ridley got up from his crash, flapping his wings and then lashing his tail at the Machine to try and pierce vile inside the machine. Ridley was sure that the tail could go through it like tin foil, as he had done much of the same to samus and her ship of un-identifiable sturdy materials from zebes.
