Backstory: Link
Appearance:
History On Li: ...Alice's untimely death at the hands of Yuuka kind of broke Marisa. Unable to confront the finality of Alice's death, she shrunk in on herself and became reclusive for a long time. As far as anyone else might've been concerned, she vanished off the face of the earth. During this time she turned inward trying to reconcile with what happened. It would perhaps be accurate to say that she was allowing her mind time to heal. The thing is... it didn't heal right. She failed to reconcile with what happened, and began repressing the memories instead. This corruption of her memory spread like a domino effect and she wound up mentally reverting back to a time she viewed more fondly in her mind, as well as a headspace that would be a more convenient outlet for the anger and anguish she felt.
It wouldn't be until she had fully blocked out the original memory and adopted a new attitude toward life that she finally returned to something 'resembling' herself and left seclusion. Though she was reminiscent of her older self, she now harbored a sore emotional wound prone to acting up at unexpected times, a prejudice against yokai, and a newfound malice in her heart. She might appear the same, but she would never be the same.
Primary Attacks (3)
Marisa Bomber: Marisa launches herself at a foe with magical force, using her backside as a cushioned projectile to smack them with! Have you ever been hit by a hundred pound object rocketing toward you at irresponsible speeds?? It really hurts! Due to literally presenting her butt for kicking, she suffers a -1 penalty to her first dodge roll on her next turn. Has a 5% chance of infatuating the target. 1 turn cooldown (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 27 Damage)
Black Magic "Event Horizon": Marisa summons a wall of energy around herself and nearby target(s) to prevent them from retreating before assaulting them with waves of star projectiles. The attack is so oppressive that it leaves no room to move around freely, requiring the defender to observe and position themselves carefully to avoid intersecting waves instead. Because of this, it targets wisdom instead of dexterity. However, because Marisa is at the center of it all, it limits her movement options as well, represented by a -1 penalty to one of her dodge rolls next turn. The attack has a +2 to its accuracy. (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 18 Damage) (Visual)
Love Storm "Starlight Typhoon": Marisa conjures up a flurry of star shaped magic projectiles to launch at a foe in a spiral pattern, all while summoned orbs project colorful lasers at them. Has a 50% chance of stunning the target. Costs 2 actions. 1 turn cooldown (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 30 Damage) (Visual)
Special Attacks (3)
Mini-Hakkero: (Visual) The Miniature Eight Trigram Furnace is Marisa's ultimate weapon, and she never leaves home without it! Marisa's little tool is a wooden box containing hihi'rokane metal gears and mechanisms inside, allowing the box the ability to absorb, contain, and forge magic! Marisa is a magically capable person as is, but she compares this more to a witch's cauldron than anything else.
If Marisa either shields, rolls within 5 on her defense roll against, or rolls any number above any magical, energy or intelligence targeting attack, she can have her mini-hakkero absorb the magical essence of the attack, storing it inside! It can contain up to five attacks at a time, Absorbing the attack does not prevent Marisa from being hit by it. The stored magic is listed with its element/damage type, status chance, and damage amount. Once per turn, Marisa can unleash one of the attacks in her mini-hakkero using her wis modifier. The attack is then gone. However, her mini-hakkero can also duplicate these attacks into empty slots in her mini-hakkero. This can be done if an amount turns equal to the attack's cooldown plus another turn have passed without it being used, or by Marisa using an action to infuse her mini-hakkero with her own magic to speed up the process. A blank slot can be filled up with energy that doesn't represent an attack but can be used to fuel other attacks that reference the mini-hakkero every 3 turns.
Lastly, Marisa can leech off of attacks stored in her mini-hakkero to infuse her other spells with the element/damage type of a stored spell. This doesn't otherwise mechanically change the spells.
Love Sign "Master Spark" / Loving Heart "Double Spark": (Visual) Marisa conjures a freaking huge magical laser to blow away her foes from her mini-hakkero. She can sacrifice an attack from her mini-hakkero to boost the damage by 8 and lower the cooldown by 1 turns. Additionally, she can spend an extra action to fire off a second laser, effectively using the attack twice before incurring its cooldown. 2 turn cooldown (Heavy Wis Attack; Does 22 Damage)
Star Sign "Escape Velocity": Marisa rushes an opponent on her broom and attempts to grab them before dragging them up into the sky and dropping them unceremoniously. This is a two turn attack. On the end of the first turn, she makes a ramming grapple attempt that does 8% damage. If she succeeds, the opponent is grappled and dragged into the air with her. If she has extra actions, she can spend them to ascend 30 feet each.
On the next turn, if the target attempted to escape her grapple and succeeds, she is forced to drop them immediately. Else, she has the choice to spend actions ascending another 30 feet each. She can drop them as a free action, or spend an action to attack them, dropping them in the process. For every 10 feet they fall, they take 1d6 damage with no damage cap and have a stacking 30% chance of being afflicted by the disabled (dexterity) status.
Flying characters can make a DC18 dexterity check to recover from a 30 foot or shorter fall (60 feet if Marisa attacks them instead of just dropping them) before hitting the ground to avoid the fall damage, and are generally assumed to be immune to greater falls. Some superlarge characters may also be immune to the attack due to Marisa being unable to lift them.
Final Smash (1)
Perversion "Sure-Fire Master Spark": (Visual) Marisa's strongest attack; it consumes two full turns to perform. During the first, she conjures a thin beam of rainbow energy which she can aim at a foe. By tilting and moving it around, she can make attack rolls using each of her actions against foes. These beam attacks deal 30% damage and have a 25% chance of stunning. They are capable of missing like any other attack.
However, on turn 2, she combines the beam with a second beam and it reacts by violently expanding such that the resulting multi-colored blast wave can be seen from space, removing any such possibility of dodging. This highly destructive attack deals 80% damage against a single foe of Marisa's choice, plus any other foes hit by the beam attack on turn one provided that they are still--y'know, around. A character that is stunned by the beams is not considered to have enough time to retreat or hide, and will fail any attempt to do so. The blowback from this attack deals 20% recoil to Marisa and afflicts her with severe exhaustion for 3 turns.
