SSB: LIFE ITSELF 2011-2021

The mighty wings of the dragon knight caused flurries of wind, the kind of which the infectious gas was swiftly swept away from. In that moment, the area remained clear of the clouds of gas, revealing the unconscious bodies of the people hit by the initial shockwave from the wasp creature.
With the pooling smog gone, Mr. Game & Watch reabsorbed the match sticks back into his greater mass, allowing him to use all his tendrils at once to pickup the helpless victims of the strange infection. Any he couldn’t tie around his tentacle grip, he laid upon his mushy head. If what the egg bot said was true though, he’d have to hurry, for not only the safety of the citizens, but his own. If even so much as one of them turned while he was carrying them, he would quickly learn just how resistant he was to this strange new infection.
The Egg Flappers remained stationed around the domed forcefield, laser cannons rising from their undercarriage and training themselves onto the target. The light matter that composed the shell of the shield was beginning to hiss, the gas escaping from tiny cracks all over. “Shield failure level critical, we’ll hold this one off for as long as we can. I have egg bots deployed from here to Lightweather, they’ll clear a path for you. Don’t stop even for a second!” the Egg Flapper commanded before its head turned back to momentarily contained insect.
Mr. Game & Watch listened well, his tentacles snatching up the two Toad Officers before his static eyes turned their gaze onto the ceiling of the lobby. By the sounds of it, the streets of the Life Sphere didn’t sound like the friendliest path to take, not to mention that travelling by way of rooftop used to be his preferred method of travel anyways.
Two of the octopus’ tentacles shot upwards, gripping onto the roof panels with his suction cups and tearing a hole straight through the ceiling and revealing the Life Sphere’s bubble shaped sky. It seemed that the very top of the dome was collecting a pool of the yellow gas, similar to what the wasp creature was secreting, confirming that what the walkie talkie was relaying earlier was true, there was a much bigger situation happening around the Life Sphere than just this one invasive creature.
Mr. Game & Watch anchored one tentacle to the ground and another to the hole he created, making himself into a convenient ramp for his allies to easily climb up and escape with the injured innocents.
The hissing cracks from the shield were suddenly silenced, only for an explosive warping sound to follow after. The energy from the shield dissipated, a burst of the yellow gas re-entering the room in rapid fashion. The weapons on the Egg Flappers glowed. “Stasis coils ready, get a load of THIS!” the digitized voice of Dr. Robotnik shouted as electrically charged bolas launched from the egg bots’ cannons and into the smog.

Volga was glad he now had two methods of keeping the gas at bay. However, the gas-filled shield containing Zasp exploded and caused more gas to enter the room. As he needed to both repel the gas and get more victims to the hospital, he quickly shifted into his full dragon form. Using his much larger wings and fire, the Dragon Knight pushed the gas away and scooped up as many people as he could carry before following the octopus up and out of the Busy Bee Lobby.
With a few people that ze had managed to push away from the gas, Ima then used zir blade to carry a few of them, but not near the edge where they could get a cut from the blade. After collecting a few people, Ima turned to the remaining people of the area. "I got a few people!" Ze revealed. With the Robots ordering the trio to take the people that they had collected to Lightweather Hospital as soon as possible.
And while the gas was coming back, it seems as though the Robots were going to take it from here. All that Ima and the others need to do now is make the delivery towards Lightweather, and it seems as though Game and Watch and Volga were already doing it in their own way. Ima quickly soon followed after them towards the Hospital as fast as ze could, with the blade carrying the few people that ze rescued following fast behind zir.
But at a gentle pace, so they don't drop a few of the people that Ima had created.
Ze should of summoned Twinkle to help zir. But ze didn't expect zir day to involve rescuing people, and Twinkle might go on an eating rampage instead of helping people.
Hopefully Lightweather was nearby, so Ima didn't have to feel the pressure that zir blade could drop the injured residents anytime now.

With his two allies in arms retreating through the hole he created, Mr. Game & Watch took the plunge through the ceiling quickly afterwards. The pile of bodies abreast his octopus form made squeezing through the tear in the roof a bit difficult, but his sheer size and power just meant that any parts of his body that he couldn’t fit he could easily just bust through.
Upon reaching the topside of Busy Bee Lobby’s roof, G&W gazed back down the hole he created, noticing that in the intervening time the entirety of the lobby had been filled with the gaseous substance. No details of the room below could be made out, just the whirls of smoke and the colour yellow consuming all there was to see. In haste, the titanic octopus rendered the hole he created shut with a simple twist of the metallic roofing and two of his tentacles. If just one of those infected creatures could produce enough gas to engulf the entirety of the Busy Bee Lobby, he didn’t even want to think about how much damage the small group of people on his back could do once they were turned.
His octopus eyes turned away from the lobby and gazed out to the rest of the Life Sphere. The peaceful domed city that he saw earlier today was much different than it was when he last saw it. The artificial sky was blotted out by the chemical gases filling the ceiling of the sphere, casting the city in an eerie amber glow. Over the horizon, in the direction of the Black Market was a massive billowing trail of gas, almost like the mushroom cloud of an atom bomb.
In the streets below, there were citizens fleeing every which way, though it seemed like the Toad Officers were attempting to direct foot traffic, corralling them toward the Police HQ, which had several airborne beasts and egg machinery circling and guarding from above.
The streets had egg bots being deployed and airdropped into position, preparing defensive perimeters as the yellow fog of war crept along the ground.
The path to the Lightweather Hospital was illuminated as a fleet of Egg Flappers rose to the sky, a straight path made from them as they turned their weaponry outward to the streets below. On any other day, the distance might have seemed a bit too much for simply walking on foot, but when so much was at stake, it was a trivial matter. Just a hop skip and away if it meant these people had the chance of not ending up like Zasp.
With that thought in mind, Mr. G&W leapt forth from the rooftop of the Busy Bee Lobby, latching onto the neighbouring building with his tentacles. From there, he flung himself forth, jumping from building to building with the greatest of ease and a singular focus in mind. Returning to Lightweather.

Volga wasted no time once he was in the gas-filled air of the Life Sphere. He used bursts of fire and his flapping wings to clear the gas around him as he flew along the path made by the Egg Flappers. The Dragon Knight hoped to get these people to Lightweather Hospital in time.
As Ima would keep running while the blade carrying the infected residents behind zir floated behind zir to Lightweather Hospital, ze briefly stopped when ze looked up into the sky, and gasped when ze saw that same yellow gas appearing from the roof, and spreading down from the Life Sphere.
"What in the." Ima quickly realised that it was the same gas that the Ant creature was carrying.
"Oh, no." This was getting bad, it was spreading throughout the Life Sphere. If this keeps up and fills every area, then most if not all of the residents of the Sphere could get infected by this gas, and if the Life Sphere falls, then there's barely anywhere else to go to on Li. Besides Starpiece Meadows, but who knows how long people can last there.
Ze was near Lightweather, the Robots that were deployed were at least going to deal with the gas in anyway possible and surely the higher ups are planning something to combat this. Right now Ima needed to deliver everyone to the Hospital like with Game and Watch and Volga.
Ze was near the Hospital anyway and ran inside with the people behind zir. Ze hoped Game and Watch and Volga were nearby too and were safe from the gas.
