--Huh? Zelda tuned back into the conversation just in time to notice something weird going on. Hold on... She squinted at the batting plate. Those ears!! Was that a Hylian?! That was... That was...

As the strange hylian ran toward first base, her thoughts on her performance, she would abruptly find herself stopped a good meter from the base. She'd been so distracted, she'd assumed she'd make it! Instead, a soft fleshy wall met her and the two Zeldas went down in a mess of arms and legs. Zelda's long ears drooped rather hard not unlike a dog's as she found herself underneath the stranger, cushioning the other woman's fall. She caught the strange woman by the shoulders as they fell, just barely preventing a rather painful head on collision and leaving their noses not even an inch apart where they laid. And then... she held the strange woman there, her grasp tightening slightly on her shoulder. There was something Zelda had to confirm for her own sake. And almost immediately, she found it.

Those were her eyes she was gazing into, only they were full of a lot more life.

Hers were just full of realization.

She quickly released the not so strange woman, only to promptly draw her catching hand up for the other to see, gingerly poking the woman's cheek with the ball she'd hit. "...Sorry." she murmured, her ears only drooping further. There she was, trapped underneath family, without the heart to admit she'd recognized herself. Leave it to a lady to apologize for getting tackled and wait for the other to get off of her instead of pushing. She was mostly okay, despite her fall. A little dirty, but oh well. At least it wasn't her dress.1d20+1

Just when the Goddess-reincarnated-into-a-panting-mess thought she was as good as first, the first major collision of the game occurred. Zelda right into…Zelda?
“Oof! Oh dear! Pardon me, I-” Zelda sheepishly giggled before opening her eyes to find herself nose to nose with an older woman with similar ears…eyes…and nose to hers. Could it be? No it couldn’t have been, she’s not…but then that would mean. Zelda didn’t break the gaze between the two, just as intrigued with this meeting as Zelda was. It was only the feeling of a baseball on her cheek that brought her back into the game. Giggling sheepishly at the gesture, Zelda scrambled her way off as Zelda as fast as she good.
“No, please, it was all my fault. I should’ve watched where Iwas going.” Zelda insisted as she stood up, regained her composure and graciously offered a hand to help Zelda up.
What now? She supposed this meant she was out. Oh well, better herself than Valorie she figured.

Zelda took the hand offered and eased back up onto her feet, sheepishly smiling at the other from where she stood. You could tell her smile was slightly forced. Something was troubling her, deeply. Yet, she could not bring herself to ask. She was just stuck there, looking like a dork with one hand in the others. Her anxiety had gotten the better of her. --And then, she was abruptly reminded that there was still someone else running the bases. Valorie giggled at the display as she ran to second, nearly unchallenged!

...Zelda's pitch came far too late. Oh well. As embarassing as that was, at least she got one person out. Moving to second, Valorie posed proudly for no one in particular, flaunting her pink mini dress and passing an idle glance back at Zelda as she headed back to the dugout.

"The girl out there doesn't look too good... Oh, I think it's our turn," Yellow said before looking out to the bases. This baseball game had... a share of characters. It was weird though. The girl on  the pitching base now did not seem like the other members in the field. "So, are we going first or will the Pikachu play first?" Randy asked, sitting in a doglike manner next to Yellow. "Oh, right...." Yellow looked out to Valorie. "Chu chu!" The yellow mouse looked to her trainer with a determined look.  "... You want to go first? Alright.""...You sure she not hungry?" "I fed her before we came here. You're the Herdier, why don't you try understanding your fellow Pokemon?" Why you being so skeptical now you silly dog?

Regardless, the Pikachu ran to the home base and patted her tail, dressed up in a skirt and outfit made for her size... Like they actually thought for including a member of her unique build. "Chu..." The mouse looked out, being rather confident in her look, being a naturally competitive Pikachu. Looked like she was choosing to use her tail rather than a bat as well.

Sakura would have made her mad dash back to home plate, but would decide against it for now, the reason being that she would rather wait until she saw who was next up to bat, and would get ready to run the moment the ball gets hit.

Meanwhile death was curious about the fact that there were two Zeldas. "Hrmmm... I needn't worry too much about it, especially since you and her are different, but bound by the blood of Hylia, yet another deity I know little on... I guess after this tournament is done I'll head to the library and look up the registry of all deities so I can eventually get some more info on them." Death said with a slight chuckle though he stopped because this was a baseball game.

Shantae was still practicing her swings, but despite the below average perception, she at least had an ace up her sleeve... One she might only use when she felt like it, just not in this game.

Midna winced as Zelda ran into Zelda on first. Well, if they hadn't each other before, they have now. All the more reason to ask her Zelda about this new one once this game was over. Readying her pitching arm, Midna looked over to home plate.

...and nearly dropped the ball completely when she laid eyes on the most adorable thing she'd ever seen.

As strange as it was to have a Pikachu batting, Midna was too distracted by Chuchu's cuteness to care. She was amazed that the team had gotten a uniform in the right size for it too. That made it even cuter.

After a few moments, Midna closed her eyes and took a breath. She had to focus, and besides, she couldn't be acting this way. Not in front of the entire stadium That wouldn't be good, especially if there were people here that knew of her lineage. Bringing herself to her senses, she threw her pitch.

"Pika?" Chuchu tilted her head a bit as she watched Midna. She seemed really distracted... Like she was admiring something and trying hard to hide it... Oh right, who could not find a Pikachu in such a cute outfit adorable? After a moment she recovered and the Pikachu put herself back into position, watching the ball carefully. As the one Pokemon on Yellow's team that loved fighting, she was not about to let this team get their last out while she was here. As the pitch came at her, she channeled her tail to be as hard as iron and prepped herself to slam the ball as hard as she could.

Seeing the ball's course, Chuchu was able to get into the right position to hit the ball with as much power as she could muster. Her tail of steel slammed the ball right with the heart mark symbolic of her gender, creating a heart shaped explosion to accompany it by using return, the love of her trainer. The explosion of familial love caused the ball to fly incredibly far. It would appear that the Pikachu managed a homerun as well.

...Well that was an obnoxious holdover from before the sport was co-ed. Who went through the effort--Oh hello! A familiar beauty could be seen gesturing to the sign. Blue had charmed a group of boys into helping her hold the various sections of the sign up. She playfully winked from the audience.

Meanwhile, Valorie ran home with delight! She quickly provided Yellow with a distraction in the form of a rather affectionate, squishy hug. "Yellow, that was amazing~!" Valorie gushed, leaning in and placing an eager little kiss on her cheek that left a pink mark in the shape of her lips, as well as a daintily floating magical pink heart that hung in the air for a long moment before popping. "And you did great too, Chuchu! I could tell that came straight from the heart. ...You know, because it was so hard~" Valorie added, bending down slightly to congratulate the pikachu that did the batting.

As soon as the Pikachu hit that baseball and made a home run, Sakura took it as a sign to make use of it and ran to home plate. And on doing so, pulled off a spinning pirouette jump right off home plate, wowing anyone watching.

As for who came up next, that would be useful for a certain half-genie who despite her innate charisma, would not be out of place in a competition that involved dancing. But this dance was interesting in and of itself by way of being natural to her. "Don't mind if I take my chance in trying my hand at this." Shantae said, stopping her dance to grab a baseball bat, then vanishing in a puff of smoke only to reappear at home plate.

"Looks like it's the girl who took on Captain Falcon, pity she lost against him. Though I'd be careful if she transforms... Just right up thanatos's alley!" Death said, giving a wink to thanatos while giving Midna a heads up on who she is pitching the ball at.

As Chuchu swung her tail to hit the ball, Midn moved to catch it.....before her jaw dropped as she watched it soar over her head, over the entire field, and out into the crowd. How was this possible? How could something so small have enough strength to hit the ball that far? It's all in the hips, Midna. Why else do you think she used her tail? As Chuchu, Zelda, and Sakura ran around the bases with zero resistance whatsoever, Midna sized up the next batter, with a little help from Death. "A shapeshifer, huh? Well, if you're anything like Blubber Boy over there, this should be a cinch to deal with." Midna remarked.

"If by being a cinch, you would have made things just as simple without calling me a shapeshifter, as half-genies are completely different. However, can he transform into this?" Shantae said with a eeriely competent smile as she vanished in a poof of smoke, only to reappear in the form of a Tinkerbat... That had blue eyes, red pantaloons, a purple bandana, and was wearing a gold tiara. It was still Shantae, but in a different form entirely with different stats to match.

The Tinkerbat watched as Midna let loose her pitch, and took careful aim.

Tinkerbat!Shantae hit the ball with enough force to send the ball clear into the outfield with a resounding crack, and becan making it's run to first base. "The ball's headed your way blue and thanatos, let's get this one out quickly!" Death said as he made his attempt to catch the ball...

Blue's attention was grabbed ... but Death was wrong. The ball was headed to him! There was little more Blue could do than try not to get in his way as he went for the catch. Multiple people simply couldn't catch the same ball, and trying would do more harm than good. Sadly, he didn't make it.

...Oof. Things weren't looking so good for the Lords of Shadow. Who ever said girls couldn't play sports??

Speaking of sporty girls, Raffina walked back up to plate, batting her lashes at Midna with an intimidating confidence. "This feels familiar! Though I'll have to give you points over the pitcher prior." Raffina remarked rather light-heartedly, setting herself up to bat!

Midna rolled her eyes as Death went to catch a ball that was going the opposite way. Didn't that bag of bones realize it was a bad idea for two people to go for the same ball? Sighing in frustration, Midna looked toward the next batter

Hey, she looked familiar! She was the one Blubber Boy had pitched a home run on the first hit. Well she didn't intend for that to happen twice. "Well, considering who was pitching last, that's not saying much" Midna called back to Raffina. "Don't think my pitches will be as easy to hit though"

What happened out there? How did Shantae’s ball get by so easily? Why didn’t Thanatos do something to catch it? Why is Thanatos just standing there? …Why isn’t he moving at all? …Is he okay?

Thanatos fell over, revealing himself to be as flat as cardboard. That’s because he was cardboard. Just a cut out stand in! Where did he go?

“Phew that’s so much better.” Oh there he is. A much relieved and satisfied Thanatos leasurely floated back toward his post…with a strip of toilet paper still stuck to his shoe…please tell me those aren’t red stains…

“So what did I miss~?” He asked casually as he retrieved his glove from his stand-in and resumed participating. “Can we change sides yet? This heat is killing me.”
