On one hand this whole 'death' business was a big pill to swallow and frankly Rundas didn't know if he could handle it, but on the other, he didn't have to handle it alone. He had Artorias with him, someone who knew what was happening to him, and what he should do. Why wouldn't that put his mind at ease, at least a little.
Artorias's next words helped de-stress himself even more. "Life after death?" Rundas asked. "Before this moment, I would have scoffed at the idea of anything after death. But now, with what you've told me, I know what you say is true. Perhaps...everything isn't as hopeless as I thought it was. I thank you for that.
Rundas got up from where he had sat down. "I'd love to extend this conversation, but I have somewhere that I need to be tonight. Thank you for the time." Rundas paused before looking at Artorias with his blank face. "I owe you a lot, from showing me the memories I didn't even know I've lost, to helping me through one of the most difficult situation that I've ever found myself in. I'll be in touch if I ever need to talk to you. Goodbye"
With his farewell, Rundas turned and walked off. A lot had changed for him in the span of one sunset, but however much negative went down, Rundas still walked away with an new ally, which, to him, was completely worth it
