The Sunshine Stadium, another place this planet had that reminded Marth of his home. He knew of a place in his old home that had an arena very similar to this one, open air, seats in a circular arrangement, and an area in the very center where one would battle. It was very nice, and it was a place where he was going to test out his somewhat rusty skill. As he entered the Arena he smiled, unsheathing Falchion and doing a few practice slashes before nodding and sheathing it again, now he would wait for a challenger, or challengers....

Then, a shadow passed by marth as a loud laugh could be heard. A large skull then fell in front of marth as a skeletal UFO slowly sunk inside of it, a window opening up on the eyes to show a elderly man, holding onto two giant levers as the machines spider legs rose up and lifted the skull up, two arms extending from it. "Well well well, who have we here! You have the pleasure of speaking to the one and brilliant, Doctor wily!" He laughed again, looking at marth and pointing directly at him. "And who might you be pretty boy?" Doctor wily said, leaning almost out of his chair inside the machine.

When his opponent arrived Marth looked up, so this man had a machine at his disposal. Fine, that made things all the more interesting. My Name is Marth Lowell, Old man. he said with a warm smile, he was only messing around with his opponent, because after all, this was just a sparring session, it wasn't like a normal day, where you had to be careful fighting someone due to Starvia and many other things. This should be very interesting, I was not expecting to fight an inventor today. he said as he unsheathed Falchion and held it to his side, giving Wily the first move in this match...

He laughed, sitting back as the machine got into a appropriate battle position, its fists clenched. "Then lets begin!" Then, wily suddenly popped out from the whole machine, his laser pistol drawn as he fired at marth constantly. he laughed as he kept firing at him, aiming at his chest.

As if he was late to an important event(which he was) a referee comes dashing into the Stadium nearly out of breath getting in between the lines of fire and stopping the bullets from flying as well as Marth's sword charging using his referee bubble shield. The attacks clashed with the ref's shield instead of them. The referee was a short but very stern looking man. He was as tall as a twelve year old human child but he looked like he was much older. Dripping sweat from all the running and face reddened with anger the referee shouts out to the fighters.

"HEY YOU IDIOTS! You have to wait for me to call the start of the battle! It's a rule you know. Now I'll forgive you for not remembering just this once, but next time, you won't get to fight in this place so easily."

The ref clears his throat as the crowd in the stadium watches with anxious eyes.

"Now most of you should know me as the ref from Little Mac's big fights, I was hired to monitor the fights here in Sunshine Stadium, and that's exactly what I am going to do."

He didn't want to ramble on too long so he tried to summarize the rules of the battle as best as he could.

"Now, the rules are simple. No calling on others for help. No cheating. No cheap shots, and no running away from this battle. Each competitor has a limit of five turns in this battle, please remember to not attempt to kill eachother, it's a FRIENDLY competition. And that's right, I'm lookin at YOU Wily."

The ref gives Wily the once over and then reverts his gaze back to Marth. The crowd was cheering in an impatient uproar waiting for the battle to begin.

"Before I raise my flag to start the battle, do we have any questions?"

The ref had hoped the questions would be minimal so he could scurry away into safety.

Wily grumbled, sitting back in his machine. He kept mumbling saying things like "Ill show you friendly" under his breath as he waited for the flag to drop. He gripped the big levers and the joystick to move as he got back into fighting position. The machine growled, the smell of burning gas and gems slowly emitting from the open mouth of the fanged skull.

I understand completely. Marth said when asked if he had any questions, he then nodded and looked at Wiley. You can go first if you wish Doctor. he said with a small smile, no matter what happened today, he was sure to have at least some fun with this spar. He knew that the doctor was seething right now, so he expected to see something really powerful from the very start of this match, something that he knew was inevitable, but if he used something strong, the Hero-King had a few tricks of his own...

Without further stalling the ref straightened his shirt's collar and let out a gulp, knowing the moment he raises that flag he has to sprint for the bleachers. The crowd was far from antsy at this point demanding the match start with a mix of boo's and mumbling. The ref tenses up his hand with the flag and raises it.

"BEGIN!"

Not even three seconds later the referee darts off and dives into the bleachers over the wall crashing into a group of Goombas. He apologizes under his breath to the creatures and straightens himself out sitting upright in a front row seat in case he had to call any rules out. He was quite relieved he was in a much safer place than in the middle of those two.

The crowd let out a roar of celebration now anticipating an amazing match between the two competitors. Some were talking amongst eachother even as if placing bets. But as the crowd was making guesses to the winner and settling themselves for the battle, two small and joyful looking creatures hop up into the commentating booth just above the crowd. They put on some headsets and connect themselves to the loud speakers of the stadium.



"Well howdy doodee friends and creatures of all ages, shapes, and sizes."

"And genders!"

"Right! My name is Toad and this here is Toadette commentating along side with me once again just like old times. We will be adding colorful phrasing to our fight today between a wily old man and a charming warrior."

"Marth has the speed and the technique to his skills, but that Doctor Wily sure is a smarty pants! But let's see who's REALLY wearing the pants in this battle."

"I guess that's a way to say it Toadette. Let's see these competitors duke it out!"

And after their talking, they became silent awaiting the fighters to make their attacks.

Wily looked up at the toads, cocking a eyebrow at toadettes comment about who was really the one wearing pants and only growing more angry with being called a "Wily old man" Despite literally being the exact meaning of the title. Wily could only shake his head and began inspecting every aspect of marth all to the armor to the stance. he then smirked as he pressed a big shiny red button on his cockpit, a small cannon coming out from the mouth of the skull.
The small cannon launched a small pill at marth. when it landed, the nut on it cracked and released a nauseous purple and hazy gas. "Muahahahaha! That's robenza! It's made to be a illness to robots, but wouldn't you know it people would work just as well!" The mad doctor kept laughing, watching the cloud deeply.

[Roboenza! has been used. The gas cloud stays for 2 turns and deals poison damage to those staying inside]

When the pill landed Marth was already gone, having dashed forward the minute the Referee said begin, he cocked his left arm back and chucked it at Wiley, causing it to spin and ignite! If it connected with the area Wiley was in he'd suffer 2nd degree burns from the sudden explosion of Aether, combined with a nasty cut from the momentum of the blade if it connected! This is Strike Raid! I learned it from an old friend. he said as Falchion seemingly appeared back in it's sheathe, hit or miss.

His machine quickly stumbled back after the hit, Wily falling over in his chair as a bright "OVERHEATING" light flashing, he hopped up, grabbing a big lever and pushing it forward, the machine then jetting at marth and punching him into the robenza gas cloud. "This time stay in there!" The machine then jumped back, not wanting to get infected himself after all.

As the pill was launched many in the stands gasped while others seemed confused looking at it as if it were medicine, but it indeed was a dangerous attack. The referee put a gas mask on and shook his head disappointed at the low tactic while some in the front row seats coughed and hacked nearly toppling over. It wasn't entirely illegal in the battle however, so the ref let it happen.

When Marth dodged it he received a unison of cheers which seemingly made Wily look like the bad guy in the bout in which he received boos instead. When the attack connected with Wily, an even louder cheer was showering Marth from the maneuver.



"What a low life that Wily is! Using attacks like that pill is just plain evil! Trying to poison the competitor is dang near murder."

"It's not against the rules Toad, so I say, he is just doin what guys like him do, outwitting his foe!"

"Have you decided who is the pants wearer yet of this battle?"

"Not yet, but Marth's quick thinking is giving him points in my book!"

"A great start to an epic fight so far, for an old man, Wily's not too shabby."

The toads both giggle at the remark and look intensely at the next moves to come from the two fighters.

As the Doctor swung his robotic fist at Marth, he would find that the warrior was now running up the robotic arm after sidestepping the fist and jumping onto it! He slashed at Wiley, allowing an Arc of Aether to be created during it, he then pushed off of the robotic arm, throwing Falchion again, performing strike raid a second time! So, you traded speed for power. Interesting, but it is a decision that will cost you this battle! he exclaimed as he caught Falchion upon its return, dashing forward again and executing his dancing blade combo on the arm itself, making the first diagonal slash before following it up with a pivot and rising slash, then a final pivot and a downwards slash, slamming Falchion back into its sheathe before jumping back a decent length away from the machine!

The machine quickly turns around,wily frantically spinning levers and knobs, pushing and clicking buttons, turning on the air conditioner then switching it to the heater again just to try and get something to happen in his favor. "Not this again!" He yelled, jumping to the side of the strike raid. "Hmph...So no outside help eh...Well, no rules about inside help!" He yelled, the two hatches on the back of the machine flying open as two bright green, shield toting robots flipped from it, landing on opposite sides of marth



The sniper joe's, one labeled with "01" and the other "02" hid behind there proto-man esque shields and charged there busters, bright red and green energy surrounding the busters as they both uncovered and fired both of there busters at him from opposite ends, both charged shots colliding with marth in the middle. Wily laughed in his usual maniacal fashion "How did that work for you lowell?" The sniper joe's remained still, putting there shield s back up as soon as there attacks finished.

The match was starting to turn into a contest of even power as both men fight on the defense and counter eachother out. Boo's from the crowd echo towards both of them as the spectators demand some attacks to hit.



"This battle is too even, we had a battle end like this before and it was incredibly disappointing. One of these challengers have to step it up and step it up soon before it is too late."

"I agree with you there Toad, the crowd wants to see a winner, and so far, this isn't very entertaining and nor is it showing enough effort on both competitors."

"Somebody land some big hits!"

"The turns are running out...and those robots Wily summoned look tricky."

"And as we keep watching, we continue to wait in focused angst."

There was alot of health left on both fighters, and not many enticing hits landed. The referee sitting in the stands has his hand on a panel of blinking and brightly colored buttons labelled; "Traps" he rarely ever used this, but he wanted to make things more interesting. He was going to give the two a little more time to give it their all, but if not, the traps would have to be set.
