The Tetris Amalgamation tried to attack more, however it broke into several little pieces that soon vanished. Ecolo looked at where the wall of Tetrominos stood once. "...Well, that was weird." He commented to himself before he took a better look at the floor they were in.

"It looks like there's only one floor left...I'm getting that ominous feeling that we're nearing the final boss."

The blob took a gander at his partners, and saw that Rundas wasn't exactly having the best time of his life. "...Well, if you two feel like you can keep going, gimme the OK sign. I can wait. I'm not exactly sure how long though, so don't dawdle around for a load of time. I'm not the patient type.” He warned the two before floating to a staircase leading up.

“Run-a-das!” Luigi called out in concern to his comrade. “What’s-a wrong?”

After a flurry of mostly missing karate chops, Luigi found that the Tetrominoe Amalgamation discombobulated and disappeared, leaving him to fall down on his face.

Looking around after getting his nose unbound from the ground, the Tetrominoes were in fact gone.
“What’s-a Right?” Luigi stroked his moustache in puzzlement.

Hearing Ecolo mention a final boss didn’t do much to change Luigi’s mood to one better than confusion.
“Fi-Fa-Final Be-bu-Boss? Already?” Luigi gasped.

“Uh y-yeah! That’s-a good idea Ecolo, Let’s-a pause!” He cowardly embraced Ecolo’s offer to take a break.
“Y’know, cool-a down, go to the bath-a-room, S-stock up-a on 1-Up Mushrooms?” he pleaded sheepishly.

"I'm fine, Luigi, I'm just a little nauseous from the projectiles, that's all"

Rundas got up, still dizzy, but better then before. "I'll be right there, Ecolo. I just need to get my bearings straight" Rundas walked over to the stairs Ecolo was standing by. Seeing as he made it there without falling on his face, he figured he could keep going.

He nodded at Ecolo. "Let's get going. I won't hold you up, and this nausea is bound to go away eventually." Rundas waited at the bottom of the stairs for them to get going

"Ya sure about that? I don't want you to fall down and vomit." Ecolo commented, doubting Rundas' decision for a moment...at least until Rundas proved to walk on his two feet. "...Well, if you say so, let's get going then!" The blob quickly restated before floating towards the final floor.

...

...Well, I say final floor, but it's more like the top of the tower.

As the trio would go back outside, they would come across...a pile of rocks? Considering the oddities in this haunted place, it was a surprise to see something that looked fairly normal. Until... a white semi-transparent figure appeared in front of them.

"GygygygyGYROAAAAR!"

Letting out a goofy-sounding screech, the figure dove into the pile of rocks. Silence. What just happ--

A creak. Then a whirr. Then gas wheezing. The pile of rocks gave under, revealing what was underneath. It seemed like a mechanical spider, covered in moss and rusted metal. The figure's screech came through again, the mechanical spider shaking violently.

"I think we found our troublemaker, boys!" Ecolo said, quickly jumping into a battle pose.

“Are you-a sure you're a-okay?” Luigi asked hesitantly. To be honest, he was hoping for a longer break. Was it legitimate tiredness, laziness, or most likely of all, fear and cowardice? This is Luigi we're talking about. You decide.
Either way Rundas insisted they were ready to go, and it was too late for Luigi to start playing sick.
“Okidoki. Let's-a go...” he sighed wistfully.

Luigi climbed the stairs after Ecolo and Rundas, knees quaking with every step.
By the time they reached the top. Luigi reluctantly opened his eyes to find... Rocks?
“Ay look at-a that!” Luigi wiped his brow in relief.
“I guess it's-a the boss's day off!. Oh well, let's-a go, maybe he'll be in on-a Monday” Luigi hastily turned back to the stairs when suddenly...

A ghostly figure apparated in front of them, screeched and dove into the pile of rocks.
“M-maybe that was just the secretary?” Luigi sheepishly shrugged.
Unfortunately for Luigi, the boss most definitely came into work today. And by the sound of it's screeching, it came to do overtime.
“Awww Mama Mia!” Luigi groaned, having no choice now but to get into battle stance.
“I'm-a hate Mondays.”

Rundas walked up the stairs toward the final boss's room. He was still a little woozy, but he felt better and better as time went on. Reaching the top of the tower, he saw....a pile of rocks? "I expected something a little more...climactic." Rundas stated, disappointed.

However, Rundas's expectations were more then met when the pile of rocks let out a loud whir, the rocks sent flying as the boss was revealed to them. A large spider-like mechanical beast.

"Now that" Rundas exclaimed gladly "is more like it!" He aimed his blaster, eager to start things off

...Well, at least someone was excited.
As the trio got ready to face the machine, the mecha-spider thing roared again, this time whipping it's claws at the whole group.

Ecolo dodged the claws and begun to retaliate. First he began by using his last 'Luigi' Cyclone...

The cyclone attack hit the mecha, and Ecolo tried to to keep going. "Swindle!" He chanted, firing two electric projectiles at it.

“Let’s-a go…again.” Luigi sighed reluctantly, as this was the real deal this time. At this point he knew there was no dignified way out of this fight besides just it over with.
Hopefully there was a more dignified way out of the way of the mecha-spider thing’s claws.

Thankfully there was, as Luigi very gracefully, and cowardly ducked and rolled out of the way of the mecha-spider thing’s whipping claw. The sudden rush must’ve gotten to Luigi, for now he seemed more in the mood to fight back. And Ecolo gave him his idea of just how to start.

“Ay! Ya don’t-a clone the Cyclone!” Luigi complained to Ecolo. “See how it’s-a done by-a Luigi!”

Getting a starting jump into the air, Luigi spun like a top, fist extended with intent of batting at the mecha-spider thing’s center.

After buffing the shell of the mecha-spider thing with his fist, Luigi took advantage of his close range by finishing his combo with a Super Jump Punch.

Rundas still felt a little sick, but it felt even better then before. It was like the sickness was slowly leaving. This defiantly perked Rundas up, so he rushed in to fight.  Starting like he started every other fight, Rundas took to the air, surfing around and looking for a good place to strike.

The Mech saw him coming though, and whipped out a long claw towards him as well as the others.

Rundas wasn't quick enough on the dodge, and the claw swiped him out of the sky. He managed to recover enough to stay aloft, but it still hurt.

"Alright, if that's how you want to play, then that's how we'll play" Rundas taunted, as he formed up a freezing blade of ice. Surfing forward, he slashed toward the mech.

As the mech got hit by all attacks, it let out a deafening and aggressive roar. As if throwing a hissy fit, the mach flailed it's claws about again, only they were hitting the ground with enormous force. Shockwaves began to form and made their way towards the trio.

Ecolo had no luck and was hit by the shockwave. Of course, the shockwaves wouldn't be the only trouble they had to face as the ground began to rumble...and fall apart. The ground began to crumble in their feet, and unfortunately there was nothing to grab on. Whilst the mech and the group would fall down to the previous floor, the mech decided that it was a good time to  to spin around and hope someone was going to be hit by it's big mechanical claws.

Ecolo enveloped himself with an indigo shield that absorbed the hit he was going to receive. That was a close one. As the group would finally reach safe ground the mech would tumble down, revealing an assortment of goodies that could be useful to help ease the boss fight. How neat!

The Mechanical Spider Thingamajig did not appreciate the strong start in the fight and threw a tantrum.
It began to create shockwaves by banging it’s claws against the ground.
Luigi had barely landed upside down on the ground before he had to jump back up to avoid the shock waves.

Ever the nimble, ever the quick, Luigi flipped back up onto his feet, avoiding the shockwaves in the process.
"Hoo..." Luigi sighed cooly as he re-positioned his hat with a stroke of its brim.

Luigi couldn’t celebrate too soon, as the floor as the floor began to give way beneath him.
"Oh-a-no! Not the Donut!" Luigi complained in reference to falling platforms he was all too familiar with.
Reacting as such, Luigi tried to jump up to higher, more stable footing, but there was none. He and his comrades began to fall with the floor. And if that were not enough, the Mechanical Spider Thingamajig was still attacking!

Carefully taking aim, Luigi tried to fire some fire balls between the Mechanical Spider Thingamajig’s claws.

As this wasn’t satisfying enough an effect, Luigi made straightened his body, allowing him to fall faster.
He positioned himself as accurately as he could bellow the Mechanical Spider Thingamajig and jumped up off a falling chunk of ground, just extended Mario Bros style.

Rundas surfed through the air, keeping an eye on his companions while simultaneously looking for a suitable place to strike again. He watched as the Mechanical Beast started pounding the ground, breaking the floor and sending both Ecolo and Luigi tumbling to the room below. Rundas followed them, keeping the fight in his sights

Surfing toward the beast, Rundas was to focused on it to see where its legs were. He was blindsided by one of the Mech's legs as it spun around in the air. This knocked him out of the sky and crashing to the floor below. Well, on the bright side, he didn't feel sick anymore.

"FIne, then. Land battle it is." Rundas said as he aimed his blaster at the Mech.

Despite some attacks missing, the mechanical menace was hit and took a bit of damage, however it was still standing. Before any attacks were made by the spider thingamajig, Ecolo cast Lovely Trick once again...well, twice again.

While only one of the spells hit, it was all Ecolo needed. "Dark Bind!" he said, suddenly restraining the mecha.

With no other words Ecolo suddenly dashed towards the mecha and began a full-on assault, with many punches, slashes and spell blasts before he finished it all with a mighty uppercut.

Before anyone could celebrate on a job well-done, the trio got warped back into the castle entrance. "Huh, wha?" Ecolo said before he noticed a certain figure appear. Posion Ringo returned, and she looked positively pleased.

"Excellent job. You dispatched the ghost and shattered it's illusion." She said. "Looks like you were indeed cut for the job. Now if you excuse me, there are matters I must take care of. Thank you for your troubles." The Ringo lookalike said before she vanished again.

Ecolo looked at the place Poison Ringo was before turning to the two partners. "Weeell, that's that~! Thanks for the help, guys! Hope I see you somewhere soon!" The blob said before he himself left the castle, happy with the completed mission.

Rundas, who was still a little dazed from the sudden warping, could only give a quiet "Thank you" to Poison Ringo before she disappeared. With nothing left to do, and Ecolo already leaving, Rundas took to the skies and Ice Surfed away from the castle, bathed in the light from the full moon.

On the floor of the tower, two waving legs stuck out of the remaining jumble of spare mecha-spider-thing parts. These legs belonged to Luigi, who was trying to yank himself free himself the scrap heap.
Suddenly being warped along with Ecolo and Rundas was enough to do the trick.
Luigi appeared at the castle entrance mid tumble, finally dislodged from the rubble. Plucking his cap off his nose and dusting it off, Luigi opened his eyes and looked around.

“Oof! Ay? What’appened?”Luigi asked, opening his eyes looking around. He plucked his hat off of his nose and started dusting it off.
“We’re right-a back where we started! We didn’t get-a ‘game over’ did we?”He shuddered at the thought.

Before anyone could give him a straight answer, the figure of Poison Ringo returned.
Luigi gasped and gripped his Poltergust 5000’s nozzle, remembering the apples he still had stashed from their last encounter. But he’d quickly find out he didn’t need them. With a sigh of relief, he lowered his weapon again.
“So does-a this mean we did it?” Luigi asked hopefully.“We won?” All signs seemed to point to yes.

“Yahay!” Luigi cheered with a twirling jump, landing in a victory pose and letting his cap fall back atop his head.“That-a feel’s-a so nice!”
Before any yours could be welcomed, Poison Ringo vanished from whence she came, leaving Luigi to gasp once again. You’d think he’d be more used to that by now.

"Oh um-a Sure thing." Luigi modestly welcomed Ecolo instead. "All in a day’s work for a Mario Brother." he answered proudly.
"Job-a well done everybody!" Luigi congratulated Ecolo and Rundas. "Maybe next time you give us a call when there’s a real plumbing emergency?" Luigi jokingly suggested
"…Perhaps-a later than-a sooner?..." He waved goodbye to Ecolo and Rundas with a nervous chuckle.

Luigi took a moment to quietly let the adventure he had just been on sink in…but the fact that he was all alone where a big scary castle used to be sunk in faster!
Luigi fled in a sprint to the pipe through which he came and dived back in.
