To Amitie's and no doubt Tails' dismay, the book 'Shades' had been tainted with. From what appeared to be a hundred or more page book had only 10 pages intact, holding up pictures of the exact shadowy beings the crew fought plus a few...bulkier looking ones. The rest of the surviving pages only contained furious scribbles saying 'WE WILL RISE AGAIN' over and over onto them. Amitie just stared at the book in dismay before handing it over to Tails, who seemed to be interested in it.

She would continue onlooking for a key if she didn't notice Palutena lockpicking the door with relative ease. The blonde stared in awe for a couple of seconds before blurting "Oh my gosh, that's amazing, Miss Palutena!" before closing her mouth and checking what was beyond that door.

The door led to a huge and oddly well-lit hallway with not much visual appeal, per se. But one thing that was very visible was that in the middle was a gigantic shadow that didn't seem to notice them, due to having it's back turned to face the door. Unfortunately, it seemed that a fight was unavoidable, seeming as it's extra large frame and body was a literal shield around the door....thankfully, it's distraction left it open.

((Everyone! Thanks to Palutena's lockpicking, we can all get a free shot at the Large Shade! Hit them with all you got...or not. The choice is yours.))

Amitie nudged at both Tails and Palutena, pointing at the distracted shadow, trying her best to hold laughter. A glint of childish excitement brimmed in her eyes as she readily went to attack the monster.

"Come on, come on~" she said, giggling in excitement.

Palutena watched Amitie with amusement as the smaller girl nudged and guided her forward. ...She certainly knew how to have fun. She had to wonder if she would get along with Pit? The goddess, however, was not keen on attempting to sneak attack the shade. Holding out her staff, she cast a blessing on Amitie instead! The mage would find that she was being filled with a holy energy, granting her strength.

((Palutena's Quick Charge! Amitie gains a charge of the Quick Charge buff. She can use this buff at any time to double the damage/healing and effect chance of one of her attacks. If used on an attack that does no direct damage or healing, it grants a +2 to her roll and still doubles the effect chance if applicable.))

Tails  looked down at the book while Amitie flipped through it... And was disheartened when it was shown that it had a bunch of pages missing... And most of the remaining pages just had pictures of the creatures... Well, there was definitely multiple kinds, but the other pages were little to no help... Other than suggesting some kind of uprising of past creatures.

The fox just took the book as it was handed to him for a moment... How was this going to be helpful? Well, he might as well store it in his gadget pouch of hammerspace just in case research is needed. The book may not have anything helpful but the pictures and making notes could be helpful. Tails opened it back up and jolted down some things from the encounter outside by the image relating to the ones they fought. He then stored it away to go help the others.

Just then there was a large creature standing in their way. Palutena seemed to be adding support so Tails stepped forward and reached into his pouch. Out he pulled a mouse like robot in appearance though it's true purpose was a decently powerful mobile explosive. Tails sat down the Chu2 Bomb to make it way towards the creature before pulling another item out of his pouch.

... Hammer Space was right as he pulled out a large energy cannon. It gained energy before he focused it forwards. He pulled the trigger of the Chaos Emerald powered Cannon and the result was a massive energy beam that barreled down the hall and collide with immense force into the foe. However, the recoil did send Tails flying back into the other room past the others.

Amitie was slightly disappointed that Palutena did not decide to attack, but the disappointment was soon revoked for a charge of holy energy was bestowed upon her, all thanks to said goddess. The bubbly girl giggled in amusement as she concentrated on creating a projectile of raw energy.

"Aktina!" Amitie chanted as the projectile traveled at high speeds, straight onto the creatures back.

The supercharged Aktina, alongside Tails' barrage of attacks, hit squarely on the Large Shade's...back. Said Shade stumbled on it's feet before recomposing itself, and turning around to see it's attackers. The gargantuan shadow looked at the three intruders...before stopping at Palutena. Its eyes glowed red, as if it was glaring at her. Wow, the nerve.

((Palutena! The Large Shade is trying to intimidate you! Roll 12+ INT to be unfazed. Else, your STR and WIS decrease by 2 points and you have 30% chance of being paralyzed.))

It didn't take too long until it grabbed a huge axe and made a wide (but slow) swing at the trio!

"Guys, look out!" Amitie tried to warn them.

((Everyone! The Large Shade is doing a very wide swing with that axe. Fortunately, it's pretty slow, so a roll of 9 DEX will suffice. If you fail, you take 15% damage.))

Seeing the attack come with relative ease, Amitie dodged the swing. "Whew, that was kinda scary...!" the Puyo cap girl commented. "All right...it's time to fight for real! Cyclone Whirl!" She chanted as she fired that small whirlwind again.

Palutena watched in amazement at Amitie's spellcasting. It wasn't anything she couldn't expect from someone who had just been gifted with her power, but still... A human, casting powerful spells like that! At this rate, she'd hardly need to protect humanity on Li. She was momentarily distracted by the shade... getting back up? Seriously? What a tryhard.

Understandably the goddess was unfazed by the shade's intimidation attempt. Who did it think it was anyway? She had two wonderful child soldiers--...errr, heroes between it and her!

Palutena's relaxed demeanor came back to haunt her however as the shade managed to reach past her two comrades and take a swing at her. Oh. ...She attempted to float out of the way, but she actually wasn't as agile as one might expect looking at her Amazonia figure. Acceleration seemed to be the issue, and she was knocked about by the Axe, rolling over in the air. She quickly stabilized herself by halting her staff's movement and holding onto it, performing an elegant spin and coming to a stop laying down in mid-air. She seemed to pose for no one in particular. An amused giggle escaped her. "My my, should you really be fighting in your current condition? It looks to me like you're finished~" she then went on to announce in a sugary sweet tone, shifting back upright and discharging a single, lonely energy blast at the shade. The most disrespectful of finishers.

Tails sat up a bit after being sent back by the recoil of his gun. He rubbed his head a little as the fight went on in front of them. He went to push himself back up when suddenly he noticed an ax singing ridiculously long and wide. Tails quickly clinged to the ground and his tails lowered as the weapon almost grazed his precious namesake. The twin tailed fox gave a sigh of relief before pushing himself up and heading over to the rest of the group as Palutena seemed to had it handle. "That guy seemed big. He was probably guarding something. Let's go check it out," Tails suggested.

Amitie nodded at Tails' suggestion. "There must be something important there, seeing as that guy was super armored and stuff!" She said as she tried opening the door...with enough effort on her part, the door actually did open. What was beyond the door was a wrecked room, covered in a load of trash and rubble.

Inside the room, there was a singular Shade. The creature was panting heavily and it was hissing uncontrollably, and it stumbled around like a drunkard in a bar. Amitie went up to quietly inspect the creature, only to be jumpscared by a vicious roar from it as it began to mutate. It grew larger claws, it's face was twisted into a unknown monstrosity, it grew spikes and eventually got a much larger and bestial body in order to top the changes off. It let out a mechanical and distorted roar as it noticed the three invaders.

"....Batankyuu..."

A flurry of energy blasts flew past Amitie as she whined, several of them striking the creature in question. Palutena gracefully floated past Amitie, flashing the girl a light-hearted smile. It turned out that goddesses weren't the easiest beings on Li to intimidate! "Why do you look so down, Amitie? I bet you could take this guy even without us~" Palutena encouraged. She certainly had some rather apparent faith in Amitie, for reasons that might not be clear. Perhaps she simply knew something the mortal did not? Say, had tails vanished..?

The goddess continued forward, just sort of floating up into the beast's face to provoke it into attacking her. Nothing got reactions from an enemy quite like invading their personal space and getting in their way. This was, of course, not without purpose. She wouldn't be putting herself in danger without good reason. ...Regardless of what she had said, she didn't plan on letting Amitie fight on her own. They didn't know each other well enough for her to pull a stunt like that. It probably wouldn't go over well, regardless of her intentions.

The goddess began drawing in light, the buildup to a familiar attack--familiar to her allies at least. "Do mind your eyes in the next few moment, though."

As Tails seemed to vanish for some reason, a girl walked into the fort. "So this is where those monsters are holding up? Well, looks like I am going to cause some noise to lure them out!" The girl declared. Suddenly, as soon as she announced her attentions, a roar came from further in the fort. "Huh, guess someone else found them first... Guess I will just need to catch up then!" The mysterious Shrine Maiden changed her direction.

Suddenly a girl that looked dressed like a Shrine Maiden... with little concern for the reveal of her arm pits burst past them with an orb that had the markings of Yin and Yang in her palm. As she made it to the Beast Shade, she threw her palm forward and impacted the beast with it to let off an explosion of blue light which she jumped back from and floated near the other two girls with her ceremonial stick in hand. "Sorry that I am a little late. I was taking a nap when I heard about monsters causing trouble here. Now, how about we take this guy out! I'm Reimu Hakurei by the way, Shrine Maiden of the Hakurei shrine," Reimu introduced.

The Beast Shade was hit by the Palutena's Auto-Reticle shots (although one of them missed) and what seemed to be an explosion of light...what was that? Amitie turned to see a new girl enter the scene...while Tails was nowhere to be seen. What happened to him? Well, Amitie could only hope he was all right at this point in time...the new girl introduced herself as Reimu. Well, it'd be un-polite to not greet her back, wouldn't it?

"Okay then, Ms. Reimu! My name's Amitie~ Nice to meet you!"

Unfortunately, the niceties wouldn't last too long as the Beast Shade made a beeline towards the three, swiping it's claws at them.

"Uwaaa!" Amitie managed to dodge out of harm's way, and went on to strike back. "Cyclone Whirl!" she chanted as she fired the mini-tornado again...

Palutena just sort of glanced over her shoulder for a moment. Who was this now? A shrine guardian? ...Hm. That wasn't a deity she was familiar with. ...Perhaps they'd been forgotten over time. The idea that Reimu was just making the name up occurred to her, but there was little purpose in such a lie and so she quickly dismissed the thought. "Good evening, Ms. Reimu. Mind your eyes for a moment, won't you?" Palutena warned

The goddess was promptly raked by a large claw, an audible gasp of alarm escaping her just before an enormous burst of light enveloped the room!

As the light dimmed down to normal levels, a ray of heavenly light remained. It pierced through the fortress ceiling as if it weren't there, showering the girls with soothing warmth and the shade with burning vengeance.

Reimu asked when suddenly she noticed the other girl bracing herself. Was the Goddess about to try something? Well, that gave the girl an idea. Reimu swiftly flew back in a large leap before throwing down seals at the feet of the monster. She then proceeded to shield her eyes just as the light shown through the room.

Reimu then ran at the assumingly captive foe and went for a side kick to impact the monster. Despite her low strength appearance, her kicks were quite powerful. She followed up the combo by rising kicking the foe before preparing a spell card.

"Like the gifts my Goddess gives me? Now for another one of my skills as a Shrine Maiden! Divine Spirit "Fantasy Seal"!"

Reimu called what sounded like a spell. Swiftly, 7 orbs of varying colors manifested themselves around her. They glowed with the same Yin-Yang Pattern as the orb from earlier. These orbs she commanded to swiftly impact and burst on the foe with great power.

The Orbs burst into a bright rainbow explosion that covered the entire room. Reimu fell back a little in shock at that display of power. Okay, maybe she overdid it a little on that Fantasy Seal. Oh well, these monsters did not deserve mercy. Though now she was feeling that refreshing light.

"That's some interesting magic you have. Do you also work for a Goddess?"

Before the Beast Shade could do anything else to attack the trio of girls, he was bound by some sort of spell that Reimu unleashed on him, which made it stop moving as if it was frozen in place. After being blasted several times, the monster revealed a nasty little surprise...as in the spikes on it's body suddenly ejected from it and they started falling down!

Amitie saw the spikes coming, however she wasn't going to go down just yet. Her body began emanating a rainbow aura as her body began producing a surge of extra powerful magic.

"Time to finish this...it's Fever Time~!"

(Amitie's Fever Time has been activated! 6 stat points [+3 Mod] are added to all disciplines and attack is boosted to 1.2x for 3 turns!)

As soon as she announced that, the spikes dove straight after the trio!

Amitie managed to escape the rain of spikes. "That was a close one!" She said before going on to strike the enemy. Thankfully, she could use Aktina this time around, so the monster had a pretty good chance of perishing.

"Aktina!" She called as she threw the blast of energy again at the monster.

"Fairy Fair!" She chanted as a rune of light sent a beam flying towards the beast...

After the last fireball hit, the beast staggered to maintain it's footing, and eventually collapsed. The beast began dissolving into a puddle of black goo that eventually became vapor. Amitie glanced up at the vapor and let out a sigh of relief. 

"...Well, I guess that is the end of that! Could there be any more though?"

Amitie quietly looked around at the wreckage to see if she spotted anymore creatures. Fortunately for the trio, there didn't seem to be any more Shades roaming around, so I guess you could say...

Amitie turned back to Palutena and Reimu. "Thanks for the help, Miss Palutena! You too, Miss Reimu!" she said, smiling gently.  "...I kinda wished Tails was here so I could thank him too...oh well, maybe I can run onto him later~" She continued.

There's a bit of a silence, until...

"...Well, I guess this is bye-bye time~?" Amitie said, not losing her peppy demeanor.

...Palutena floated back from the scene of the battle, making her way down to Amitie and Reimu before landing with a click of her heels. With the shade defeated and the party having only sustained minor wounds in Palutena's case, the goddess was free to address Reimu's and Amitie's words without fear of attack.

An amused giggle escaped the goddess as she landed. "A goddess? Why no; I work for humanity!" Palutena remarked in an ever so innocent, yet subtly mischevious tone. She had decidedly neglected to mention her goddesshood, wanting to see if Reimu would figure things out on her own. "And so once again the day is saved, thanks to--The Flowerpuff Girls~" Palutena then went on to narrate ever so contently aloud.

The goddess finally turned to address Amitie. "I'm sure we'll see him again. Li is a small world, after all. Speaking of which, I hope I get a chance to see you again, Ms. Amitie! Perhaps next time we meet you'll have even more magical power to show off~" Palutena remarked, her eyes glimmering with a certain interest. She was half tempted to invite the mage up to Skyworld, but it felt a little bit too early for that. All things in due time, perhaps.
