"Wario, the Number One vs Shadow, the Ultimate Lifeform! Come see Wario duke it out with the arrogant hedgehog in a one on one duel to prove who is truly number one! Ticket Sales are final, no refunds." These posters laid spread out all over the Life Sphere... Clearly Wario has been very productive in the time it took to set up this match... And trying to profit off it somewhat. The posters were plastered even more around Shadow's abode, clearly trying to get him to see the time of day Wario set up to throw down.

Meanwhile in the Stadium, those that wished to see Wario take down the Hedgehog... Or more likely get his dues for placing advertising in every corner, especially Busybee Lobby, were in the stands. Wario was lifting weights on the grounds... Clearly trying to impress for a moment before throwing the dumbbells behind him and flexing his arm with a confident grin.

"That Shadow guy thinks underestimating the great Wario is a good idea? Well I'll show him what happened to everyone else that dared to think they could take me! And everyone will see! And the revenue will make this go quite well too..." He said as he rubbed his hands together. "Alright, Mr. Ultimate Lifeform, almost time to put your money where your grin is!" he declared as he got himself motivated.

“...You do realize a lot of these people would rather watch me fight Luigi than you, right?” Shadow scoffed as he stood with his arms folded over his chest. “Or, you know, Sonic. And they could watch those battles for free. Why are you making such a rigamarole over this when people shouldn’t really have to pay to see us fight?”

Whatever the case, Shadow couldn’t deny the truth. Wario had won over this brood of idiots into watching this fight instead of another one they could’ve watched for free. Whatever. Honestly, Shadow didn’t care if anyone was watching or not so long as he could wipe that smug look off the plumber’s face. If they’re giving Wario a profit, it’s no skin off Shadow’s nose, but will that money be worth it to have his face smeared by the one he challenged?

Shadow chuckled at the statement Wario made. “But you’re the one making money out of this. So, shouldn’t you do that?” Shadow, of course, knew what Wario meant, but didn’t care. He was sick of that smelly slob lording himself around like a fat, rich pig. Shadow was going to teach him a lesson in humility.

Wario looked to Shadow with a smug smirk as he dared to question his (un)deniable brilliance. "If they really wanted to save money they'd save the effort and cash and just watch it on their TV at home..." Wario began until pulling a Lakitu over and speaking directly to their camera. "Speaking of which, Warioware is now selling quality TVs at a discounted price of 0.1%! Get it before the deal is over!" he advertised before shooing the cameraman off. "Anyway, you wouldn't believe what people would go out of their way to pay for if they had the cash," he finished with a shrug.

"But hey, these guys did not come here for a Business Education. Since you asked so nicely I think I will!" he retorted, putting his shoulder first and charging at Shadow at... surprising speed for his build. Not quite Sonic world fast but he was carrying his weight rather well, clearly was not lack of exercise that caused that heavyset. However on his way to Shadow he seemed to trip with a stumble and a panicked "WAAAAAAA!" before turning that attack into a roll in an attempt to throw Shadow off guard and trip him up.

For his next trick as he jumped to his feet and a dash to Shadow, his arms to his side moving in a rapid and backforth before outstretching his hand to try and clutch Shadow by the head. "Hey, fuzzball! I heard that you really love grappling, well Wario has quite a bit of experience with throwing down himself! Wahahahaha!" he declared tauntingly as he would try to slam Shadow into the wall with the quick force before turning around to toss him away. If he failed he would just come to a hopping halt on one leg.

"Wahaha! Let's hear it for the Number One Wa! Wa! Wa! Wario! Wa! Wa! Wario!" he declared, facing the crowd after the initial assault, throwing his hands up with a W formation in the fingers, attempting to hype up the crowd to Wario's favor on how well he was trouncing the Ultimate Lifeform.

Well, Shadow got a quick response, just as he was hoping. Unfortunately, Wario had become a lot more resourceful than Shadow had imagined. Just as the fat, smelly man was running toward him, the hedgehog waited just a bit too long, and wasn't prepared for the surprise that waited him. The hedgehog tried to dash to the side, but just as Wario was trying to do, the hedgehog was tripped up by his attack, and landed face first into the ground.

Unfortunately for Wario, his luck ended there. Apparently announcing his strategy, in and of itself, was a horrible one. But you certainly didn't need to tell that to Shadow. Wario just didn't seem to learn that lesson. Shadow was just able to launch himself to the left with the power of his jet shoes, and avoided the attack all together.

"Not bad," Shadow simply stated with a smirk. "You're better than I thought you were. I definitely didn't expect that." Shadow rolled his hands into fists. "Unfortunately, your luck will end with that first attack." Shadow charged yellow lightning bolts in his left hand before waving said hand across the space in front of him, firing three Chaos Spears at the fat man.

Shadow then spread his feet apart before running into a skate into a straight line, coursing straight for Wario, intending to ram into him at full speed and force!

Whether the hedgehog made his attack stick or not, Shadow jumped into the air and rolled into a ball, launching himself to the fat man in an attempt to knock into his head.

Wario was pelted by the spears of chaos... Confused after the first one how these puny things were meant to harm him. He was then knocked back a bit by the charge, stumbling and being slammed into by the Homing Attack. "You're fast, Wario will give you that much. However, it will take much more than Speed to bring down Wario! In fact, I am not even showing my power yet! Prepare thyself, Shadow the Hedgehog, for Wario's Special Tecnique! Transform!" Wario declared before spinning around as... His gloves became metal, and the area seemed to glow yellow and purple. His overalls became metal, then his shoes, then his shirt, and then came the cap before finally he too became Metal in his... Magical Wario Transformation and became Metal Wario!

"Wahahaha! Wario would like to see you scratch this form! Let's go!" the Metal Miscreant declared before running forward to throw a few quick jabs at Shadow ending in an uppercut.

Shadow smirked at the notion that he was fast. Of course, he didn't need a pig like Wario to tell him that, but at least Shadow didn't have to spell everything out to the pea brain. Shadow arched an eyebrow at the ugly plumber's statement before the fat man started spinning and "transform". Unfortunately for Shadow, the display was so... disturbing that he couldn't look away.

By the end of it, it was clear that the hedgehog was utterly disgusted by what he'd just bared witness to, and didn't wish to see it again anytime soon. ".........." He wouldn't even acknowledge that with a response.

Even if he wanted to, he needed to get his focus together and avoid the upcoming attacks. Shadow glared at Wario as he prepared for the barrage of attacks heading his way.

The result was... mostly successful. Shadow easily backed away from the first attack, but was hit straight in the jaw by the second one. Lucky for Shadow, he was just barely able to lean backward and away from the third attack, barely missing his nose. Next, Wario attempted to ram into Shadow, but he was having none of that!

The hedgehog jumped into a ball, and unrolled to jumped off the fat plumber's head to use as a springboard to get to the other side of the field. The hedgehog made a perfect dodge, before turning to face the next charge that was coming his way.

Unfortunately, when he jumped to dodge this one, Wario ended up timing his charge perfectly and rammed his shoulder right into Shadow's stomach. The hedgehog grunted as he skidded backward, holding his stomach for a few moments. The Ultimate Life Form simply smirked at his rival, indicating that he was far from finished. "So, you're actually taking this seriously now, huh?" Shadow scoffed. "Well then..." Shadow spread his feet a part. "Guess it's time for me to actually try now."

With that said, the hedgehog rolled into a ball and skidded to Wario's legs, skidding at him three times to ensure maximum amount of damage.

Pleased with his performance, Shadow jumped into the air again and charged electricity in his hand before noticing something... different about his Chaos Spear. Normally, Shadow wouldn't have been able to use his attack for a bit, but there was something different about it now... trusting his gut, the hedgehog allowed the lightning bolt to form in his hand before waving his arm out in front of him to send the lightning bolt at Wario.

p_1d20+3 (Shadow used the newly revised Chaos Spear! Shadow's WIS Stat allows for a +3 in each roll! Should this attack make contact, not only does it cause 13% damage, it has a 20% chance to Paralyze Wario, and can Double Hit, allowing Shadow to roll twice and stack the Paralysis. This, however, doubles the cool down as well. In this case, Shadow only uses it once. The cooldown is 3 turns.)

Once that was finished, Shadow allowed himself to land on the ground before examining the hand that launched the attack. He stared at it for a while before smirking to himself. "Guess that means I'm back..." Well, at least he was coming back, little by little. Chaos Spear was definitely back to its old self, no doubt, though.

With that out of the way, Shadow leaped into the air and rolled into a ball, aiming a Homing attack for Wario's face. Whether or not he hit the plumber, he would then unroll to jump backward, gaining some distance from the smelly man.

"We'll see how serious you are! Come at me you puny rodent!" Wario called out before being hit by a spindash and another and another. Although this time he did not even flinch from the blows. He tried to evade the spear but it landed it's mark and stuck it to him although he still stood firm. Preparing himself for the Homing Attack as it threw itself at him.

A very large W Marked bomb and chucking it at Shadow to explode with a gigantic blast and send him flying.

"As Wario was saying, you're fast but weak! All that speed means nothing if all your blows do is put Wario to sleep! Wario took every shot you fired and isn't even tired! If you care to prove me wrong I'd love to see it, Ultimate Loser!" he taunted, seeming to get the audience's attention once more as he gave Shadow a gigantic smile. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying the fight.

Shadow tried to keep his focus on the matter at hand, but Wario was far from finished with him. None of Shadow's attacks made that much of an impact, and the hedgehog's scowl made it very clear what he thought of this whole "Metal Wario" thing. Wario knew he couldn't beat Shadow with his own power, so he needed to enhance it. The coward!

Still, Shadow would do his best to avoid these attacks, as he always did.

At first, he was doing well. He leaped back away from the punch, and ducked away from the next one. It was at the third attack that Shadow's luck started running out. Shadow was hit directly in the face by the third punch, and then bombs started raining on him! Shadow's eyes widened in pure shock as the hedgehog made a desperate dash to get away from the explosion. He even tried teleporting! Even then, he knew there was no chance.

Shadow avoided being hit by the bomb directly, but the hedgehog was launched out of his attempt to teleport away by the wave of energy from the bomb. Shadow grunted as he was launched several feet away from the spot he was at previously. The hedgehog flipped several times, and skidded face first on the ground before slamming his fists onto the ground, and slowly pushing himself up. The hedgehog growled before swiftly turning to face Wario, trying his best to put on a brave face even amidst his inevitable defeat, one that seemed so impossible at the start of this fight.

On top of that, he felt something... strange. A sort of darkness began to rise inside him... It was that critical hit that started to wake up something... sinister inside of Shadow. The hedgehog felt himself shaking, but it would do nothing to sway Wario's victory.

Wario still had one more attack up his sleeve, but even as Shadow faced the incoming impact, Shadow let out a yell and tried to run at Wario at full speed, intending to jump over the man and roll into a ball as he does so.

This was a mistake...

Shadow was almost able to get over the man, but Wario's punch was just accurate enough to hit Shadow right in the stomach despite all of the hedgehog's effort. The hedgehog was thrown back, but the hedgehog skidded on his feet, and managed to stand as such. The hedgehog stood there for several moments, the darkness within him almost bursting.

Shadow then attempted to run directly at Wario, surrounded by a dark energy that even the certainly frightened audience could feel. Shadow clenched his fist to punch Wario in the face, but then fell face first onto the ground with a grunt. The darkness continued to torment Shadow for several moments after that before finally dissipating, allowing the hedgehog to sigh in some relief.

Despite this, Shadow couldn't walk away from this victorious... Wario had won the fight.

"Ha, looks like this match is finished, loser!" Wario began to celebrate as he countered Shadow's blow before he noticed something and instinctively got back. He  didn't have the same smug smirk, he looked absolutely furious and there was a look in his eye that told Wario something was different. The change was definitely noticable especially as he charged at him once more. Wario's grin was gone now as he held his fist back, readying to slam the short pest again... But dropped it when it was no longer unnecessary. Wario just watched Shadow for a moment. What was that just now? He's never seen Shadow do something like that before... Whatever, it was none of his business anyhow.

"... One. Two. Three. Four. Fivesixseveneightnine ten!" Wario  counted down, just rapid firing when it was clear Shadow had nothing left in him, Wario held his arms up as his Metal Power wore off. "And the match is decided! Wario is number one!" he declared holding out his hands, back to Shadow. "Everyone now! Wa Wa Wario! Wa Wa Wario! Wa Wa Wario! Wa Wa Wario!" He chanted to the crowd his victory before quieting down to speak to his opponent. "You can keep your title by the way. Wario has no need for a fake declaration of superiority," he commented. "If you think you can give Wario a real fight, I am always going to be there to wipe that smirk off, got it?" he finished.

 "Remember everyone! Souveniers on the way out, a portion of earnings go to restoring broken parts of the Life Sphere!" he declared... Not stating a number of how much before just leaving Shadow behind. Wario got what he came here for, satisfaction and profit.
