Krystal walked into the stadium, twirling her staff in her hand. The shouting match with Shadow had escalated to the point where both of their tempers had flared, and Krystal was eager to put that black hedgehog in his place. "Shadow!" she called out. "Let's do this!" She felt a slight breeze blowing through her fur, blowing her hair from her face. Excellent conditions for a good fight. She'd prove to that apathetic idiot that she could easily best him, 'Ultimate Life Form' or not. Making sure her staff was fully charged with energy crystals, she planted it on the ground, ready for whatever Shadow could throw at her.

Shadow was standing with his back turned to his opponent until he opened one of his large, red eyes upon the fox's entrance. "Hmph." he huffed before turning toward Krystal, folding his arms over his white furred chest. "Took you long enough. What, did you get distracted or something?" Shadow stood there with a smirk on his face, but in reality he was absolutely livid. How dare she speak to him that way? Who did she think she was? He was the Ultimate Lifeform. She was some former copilot who happens to have the ability to read minds. Whatever. Now was the time to settle the score. Shadow didn't have to deal with her pretentiousness any longer. She would learn not to cross him again. He'd be sure of it.

Krystal just rolled her eyes at Shadow's words. She didn't expect any sort of warm welcome from the hedgehog, but at least a little warrior's respect would be nice, at least for the duration of the fight. She didn't buy that 'Ultimate Lifeform baloney for a second. To her, he was just a normal, annoying, elitist hedgehog, and she'd make sure that he'd know exactly what she thought of him.



Without missing a beat, Krystal rushed at him, staff at the ready. No matter what it took, she would defeat him. Pointing the tip at Shadow, a blast of flame erupted from the tip, ready to singe the black hedgehog's fur.

Shadow smirked at the fox's reaction before spreading his feet a part and balling his fists. Despite his extreme speed, Shadow would allow the fox to try and strike him first, (What? Maria taught him some manners..) and it would allow him to see precisely what she was capable of. As far as Shadow was concerned, probably not much. She starts off with sending fire out with her staff... really? THAT was her big magnum opus? Her staff? She couldn't even fight without a weapon? Sure, Shadow used weapons, too, but he could fight without them. He didn't need weapons... he just liked using them.

Keeping his attention on the matter at hand, the short yet speedy hedgehog attempted to leap out of the way of Krystal's attack. Should he have been successful, he would have rolled into a ball and unrolled, stancing himself by placing both hands and one knee on the ground. Shadow was just barely able to dodge Krystal's fire attack. He cringed as he felt the heat of the flames, just centimeters away from getting singed, but managed to let out a sigh, relieved that he managed to avoid the wrath of the fiery staff.

After that, Krystal tried to strike him with her staff. Hmph! Pathetic attempt! Shadow attempted to duck and leap out of the way of the attacks, finally leaping backwards to gain some distance. That time, Krystal was able to get her first strike in, but she proved no match for Shadow's speed as he gracefully dodged the other two, even if she just missed by a hair on the second attempt.

With that completed, it was time for his own assault. The hedgehog breathed in and let out a sigh. "That all you got?" Shadow scoffed, clearly not impressed. "I've battled ugly prototypes who fight better than you!" As it typically was for Shadow, he started his assault with an insult, but he wouldn't just leave it as his words. He would let his actions do the talking! In a flash, Shadow disappeared and tried to rush at Krystal with a Chaos Snap attack. This, was the reason he was the Ultimate!

After that, the hedgehog rolled into a ball, rising into the air before swiftly launching a homing attack himself at his opponent.

After that, the hedgehog would either end up behind the fox, or bop the fox in the head, in which he would flip backwards and land right in front of her. Shadow would then straighten himself up, smirking at the foe in front of him. Not as delusional as she thought, perhaps?

Krystal got caught up in Shadow's assault, but managed to ride the recoil so she could get away from him. Unfortunately, Shadow homed in on her and struck her down again. No matter. Getting her footing again, Krystal pointed her staff at the black hedgehog again. "Hmhmhmhm, You're foolish to think that I've shown everything I can do." As if on cue, her staff began to glow blue, and a bolt of freezing energy shot forth from the tip.

Huh...that wasn't as strong as she thought it would be. Maybe she should think about this from a difficult angle. Activating a small device on her jumpsuit, the air around Krystal would shimmer, before she disappeared entirely.

Hmph! It seemed as though Shadow's extremely potent speed was starting to be too much for her. Out of all of the attacks she threw at him, he only got hit once, while she only successfully dodged once. So far, the battle was going in Shadow's favor, and he was not about to let up on his advance. Shadow smirked at the response he received. He had really been hoping for a challenge to come from his opponents that he'd fought, but so far she hadn't proved herself as much of a threat. He wasn't even giving it his all yet, but she wasn't urging him to either. Nothing she was doing was urging him to use the majority of his Chaos Powers.

The fox decided to try to use her staff to shoot out a sort of... ice blaster? "Hmph. How pathetic." Shadow scoffed, rather disappointed in the lack of challenge he was receiving. He then preceded to attempt to roll out of the way of the  weak little attempt Krystal tried to use to prove that she was strong or something.

Once again, Shadow avoids damage thanks to his incredible speed. Perhaps Krystal was starting to doubt an easy victory, because her lack of a good result from her attack caused her to hesitate a bit. Good. That's what she deserved for underestimating him. Perhaps his title wasn't something she should have scoffed at, hm? However, before he knew it, Krystal seemed to vanish, which was something the hedgehog wasn't expecting. Shadow's eyes widened as he snarled. Did she teleport? He highly doubted it. She relied far too much on her weapons to have quite that much psychic ability. This was probably all thanks to yet another weapon.

No matter. He'd find her, and once he did, Krystal would have another Spin Dash or Homing attack waiting for her. She had yet to prove that she was worthy of any of his other Chaos Powers.

Shadow scoffs. Using a cloaking device in the middle of a fight? How pathetic. At least his Chaos Snap was Shadow using his own ability. Krystal couldn't beat him without a sort of cloaking device. No matter. Shadow would find her eventually, and he'd win this fight all the same.

Krystal watched, invisible, as Shadow tried to find her. So far, he wasn't having any luck, although she had to quickly pull her tail away before it could brush against Shadow's side. Phew. At least this would give her a bit of time to think. Shadow was fast, that was for sure....but could he track her movements? Moving quickly, Krystal started attacking Shadow with her staff, always on the move so Shadow couldn't pinpoint a position

Well, she got in a few decent hits. Hopefully she kept herself moving enough for Shadow not to find her. With any luck, she might be able to whittle him down a bit before her invisibility wore off. Until then, she tried to stay out of his way.

Shadow's ears perked up as he tried to get a sense of his foe's movements. He had to admit that fighting an enemy he couldn't see was rather frustrating, but it was a stunt he himself was capable of pulling on others. Perhaps this was just a way for Shadow to know just how useful his own technique was, though that was hardly Krystal's intention. It was clear that the fox was overwhelmed by his own Ultimate Power, and thus had to hide her whereabouts, lest this be far too easy of a win for him. Still, the hedgehog tried to keep himself on his toes. He wouldn't allow Krystal to catch him by surprise. Despite this circumstance, he was still much faster than she was, so regardless, he had the advantage.

As Krystal swooped in to attack, Shadow remained calm...

Shadow scoffed at the excess amounts of attacks that managed to make their mark. Sure, he managed to avoid quite a few of them too, but it was surpassed by how many times he was hit. This was starting to get on his last nerves. He needed to finish this and he needed to do it soon. He wouldn't lose this way, not to Krystal! Shadow took a deep breath and tried to focus. What would it take for him to find her? There had to be a flaw in her plan... Anything that could give him a clue as to where she was. He was certain to find it!

It seemed as though Krystal made a slip up! Shadow smirked. Now was his chance! Once again, the hedgehog rolled into a ball and began hovering, aiming yet another Homing Attack at Krystal. The fox had been exposed, and Shadow knew there would be little chance of escape!

Not as solid of an attack as he'd liked, but the hedgehog refused to give up! In both of Shadow's hands, he charges lightning bolts before throwing them at Krystal!

And with all of that, Shadow stood a good distance away from the fox. Shadow had to admit, she wasn't slow when it came to thinking things through, but clearly, she was still no match for him. Victory would be his yet!

Krystal hid behind Shadow after bombarding him with staff strikes. This could work. All Krystal had to do was hide from him long enough until she....

Oh. Shadow had found her...

Unexpectedly, Shadow had whipped around to look directly at her, before curling up and slamming into her, while Krystal could do little else but take it.

Landing a few feet away, Krystal got up, watching as Shadow charged up one of those electric spears that she had seen him use before. They looked a bit sloppy. Maybe it was the strain of trying to find her? Whatever the reason, Krystal quickly pulled up her Reflector to block the spears

One of the Chaos Spears bounced off the Reflector, but the other two dissolved on contact. Deactivating the Reflector, Krystal ran toward Shadow, blasting him with fire again before trying to knock him upside the head

Shadow smirked as the fox couldn't do anything but get struck by his Homing Attack. The hedgehog could tell by her face that she was starting to find it difficult to deal with him, and he was loving every moment of it. ...Well, not every moment. She did get a few hits in while she pulled that cheap cloak trick. But that only proved that she couldn't beat him with her own ability, and even using weapons against him did little good. He'd prove his power no matter what. He'd had a clear advantage from the start, and he didn't plan to let up. 

Unfortunately, it seemed like her tactics weren't yet used up. 

The first Chaos Spear that was thrown at her was deflected by the staff she held in her hand, though it seemed as though it just barely worked. The deflector may have blocked it, but it seemed as though she had intended to hit him with his own attack. Yeah right! Shadow's jet shoes suddenly flared up, and the speedy hedgehog made his attempt to avoid the attack. The increase in speed in the reflected attack would no doubt make it harder for him to dodge the attack, but it was far from impossible. Shadow would prove he was faster!

But that wasn't the end of her assault. Not by a long shot! Just as the hedgehog seemed to avoid being hit by his own attack, Krystal seemed to come back for more. Shadow growled, gritting his teeth as he attempted to sidestep the flame attack she shot at him again.

But the fox still wasn't done! In an attempt to smack Shadow on the head, Krystal swiped her staff at him, putting in all of her furry into each and every swing. Or, at least, she must have been angry because, though her strikes were fast, they seemed rather... sloppy. Krystal seemed to be letting her anger take control too much, but that would prove to be her undoing. Shadow would jump and flip away from each attack, certainly!

And thanks to Shadow's miraculous speed, he was able to avoid each and every attack done by Krystal, though she just narrowly missed his nose on that second staff strike. Shadow wouldn't have been surprised if she was now seeing red. Bet she didn't expect for him to be this hard to handle. Shadow couldn't keep the smirk off his face. This battle was as good as his! He may have been hit before, but he was still rearing to go!

Shadow started this next round of attacks by rolling into a ball again, this time remaining on the ground. Then, in a flash, the hedgehog released himself, rolling at Krystal like a speedy tire. He would roll back and forth at Krystal at a high speed! Let's see her dodge this!

Krystal held up her shield for as long as she could, but the force of Shadow's attacks shattered it. Quickly jumping out of the way of the last attack, Krystal's mind started racing. What could she do in this situation? She had powerful attacks, but those took a while to set up, and with Shadow's speed, she couldn't risk leaving herself open, not after the beating she'd received from him.

With not many options left to her, Krystal went with the only option that wouldn't leave her open. Hedgehogs burn well, right?

Shadow huffed, his smirk ever present on his face. Krystal seemed to insist upon blocking all of his attacks with that little bubble shield, but the bubble was no match for Shadow's speed and relentless attacks. She managed to dodge his last, poorly executed attack, but it was clear on her face that she was doing poorly. The hedgehog spread his stance out, ready for whatever Krystal had in store for him. His quick dodges had been too much for her, so he had no reason to believe otherwise.

The first attack was dodged rather easily, but the second attack actually made a nasty mark on his side. Luckily for him, he was merely damaged, and not seriously injured by the attack. And much like the first attack, the third attack was easily dodged with a simple dash to the left. Easy! Now it was Shadow's turn, and mercy would not be held for the vixen! The first attack the hedgehog did was rush toward the vixen at full speed. The hedgehog then jumped forward, aiming to hit Krystal headfirst at high speed.

Skidding to a halt, Shadow turned his attention back to the vixen before jumping in the air and rolling into a ball and launching himself at Krystal, attempting to bounce off her back, or perhaps forehead, depending on if she turned to face him or not.

Shadow unrolled right in front of Krystal, crossing his arms over his face, an eager smile on his face. "Time to show you my Ultimate Power!" The hedgehog unleashed his power from his fists, intended to send the vixen reeling back with currently his most powerful attack. "Chaos... Nightmare!"

With that done, Shadow jumped a good distance away from Krystal, spreading his stance out and preparing for Krystal's next move. "You getting tired yet?" Shadow scoffed as he folded his arms over his chest. "You're not a very good challenge, you know that?"

Shadow's dashed straight into Krystal, and with his speeds, she couldn't even hope to get out of the way in time. And the attacks still kept coming. Krystal managed to avoid Shadow as he tried bouncing off the back of her head, she was caught off guard when a blast of energy hit her in the stomach as she was turning around. That attack sent her flying backwards, and she landed pretty awkwardly on her legs.

A sharp stab of pain shooting up her legs told her immediately that something was wrong. She tried getting up, and was rewarded with the pain tripling in intensity. "Nrgh…" Krystal grunted. Leaning on her staff, she slowly pulled herself to her feet. She could walk at least, so it wasn't too serious. But there's no way she could continue here.

"Urgh...I suppose I'm going to need to call the match here. You fought well, Shadow. Perhaps I misjudged you about your power level." Krystal grimaced as a fresh wave of pain pulsed from her footpaw. "I...think I'll be alright in a day or two. but as far as today goes, I'm ready to go lie down"

With that, Krystal bid Shadow farewell, and hobbled off to her apartment. A few days of bed rest seem to be in order.]
