Pipes. Pipes everywhere. Above and below, and in and out of the wall, pipes side by side and crossing over each other. Pipes all over, connecting everywhere like internet cables at a communication hub.
A sterile silence flooded Reploid City's water treatment facility. Silence broken by the occasional gurgles and flushing sounds of moving water echoing from inside.
A silence shattered to pieces by the sound of a certain plumber dressed in green bursting out of a large pipe just outside the building.

“It's-a Me! Luigi! Let's-a Go!” Luigi excitedly announced his arrival as he fired out of the pipe. Upon landing, Luigi realized nobody else was there to see that. Checking the time, Luigi realized he was embarrassingly early.

“I'm-a hadn't realized how fast I'm-a got here!” Luigi chuckled impressed with himself. “I can't-a believe I'm-a this excited for just-a run of-a the Milan plumbing job.” he grew more embarrassed as he gave it more thought. “But still...” Luigi stretched and leaned against the pipe.
“It's-a nice not be on-another ghost hunting mission for-a change...or save-a someone, or... look for-a mask.” Luigi rationalized with himself as he slid down the side of the pipe, taking a seat.
“Just gotta relax and un-a-wind, winding up-a the pipes.” he yawned serenely.

♫“We are the mushroom plumbers extraordinaire!”♫ Luigi began to peacefully hum an old jingle he and his brother used to share. ♫“The Super Mario Brothers, what a pair!”♫
“Those-a were the good olden days, ey Mario?” reminisced nostalgically, taking an old photo of him and Mario out from under his hat.
“If you were-a here, we'd-a had this-a job done in-a drip! But-a now you're off-a saving Li and I'm-a just... Just-a me. Luigi.” he sighed wistfully, tracing the L on his hat. “As solitario as-a bro can be.”

“...Still, I'm-a got an important job to-a do too.” Luigi reminded himself, taking out and studying a paper Daisy gave him.
“Princess Daisy's counting on-a me to plumbify this project for her!” His nose couldn't help but notice the scent of her perfume caught on the paper.
“It even smells-a like her.” he sighed blissfully, taking another sniff. “Like-a Daisies. Of course it does.” he chuckled, blushing delightedly as his heart beat like a drum. “There's-a no way I'm-a gonna let her down this-a time!” He promised, putting his cap affirmatively back onto his head. He even stood up and began to bravely march toward the pipe house. “Not for all-a the spaghetti in-a the world!”
“Why, I'm-a could even go in there right now all by myself and-!” he stopped right at the door as something ominous echoed from the inside.
This sent Luigi cowering right back to the distant safety of the pipe.

“...Or maybe I'm-a just stay out here and-a wait for back up.” He panted.

By the hour Luigi started reminiscing about those good old times, the eternal wanderer (whom was now confined to a house on the Life Sphere) made his way towards the meeting spot. Walking around the pipe site, he seemed to take notice of Luigi talking to himself, so he waited until the plumber finished.

Ryu cleared his throat loudly after a bit, announcing his presence to the plumber.

"Luigi, I assume? Name's Ryu."

The Street Fighter extended his hand for a handshake, waiting for Luigi to respond to it. Well, he was trying to being more social for a change, who would have thought?

While Luigi had awaited for backup, Little did he know, Gon was actually already there, sitting atop a set of pipes...Though, due to the typical nature of himself, no one ever really notices him, even if he sticks up like a sore thumb. Poor guy. 

"Oh, hey, look at me, my name's Gon, i used to be a super cool mercanary who used to do super cool mercanary stuff like fight dragons, or go kill major mob bosses. But , now im reduced to going into the smelly sewer for some guy who looks like a mutant string bean..." Gon said to himself depressively, sulking completely to himself, before sighing and rising up.

"Right, right...A smiling devil never leaves a job undone..." Gon said, before hopping off his little Pipe-tower of depression and walking up to Luigi and Ry--

"HOLY DRAGONS THAT GUYS RIPPED. I thought only a Jojo character could have abs like that?!" Gon thought to himself when he laid his eyes on Ryu, before shaking his head. "Uhh...Hi."

“Eyeehah!” Luigi yipped, being taken off guard by Ryu’s gruff throat clearing. He turned around to find the eternal wanderer towering over him.
“Oh yes I’m-a Luigi, oh yes you must-a be Ryu! Pleased to meet-a you!” Luigi greeted happily shaking his hand. “Mama Mia you’re-a strong.” He complimented, instantly feeling safer knowing that a guy this big and tough was on his side.

“Ay join the club mac, we’ve got jackets.” Luigi snarked as a greeting. It seems the two had more in common than they thought, both having backstories of glory. “Luigi Mario, nice to meet you.”

“Now Ryu, Gon, welcome-a to your first-a day of your Mario Bros Plumbing internship!” Luigi welcomed with as if introducing a new game.

“Now you may-a think of us plumbers as just-a bunch of partiers, racers, and Olympic medallists. But that’s-a not the case…entirely, any-a-way. For what-a the media doesn’t want-a you to know, is that when we’re not-a doing… all of that, we plumbers are hard at-a work maintaining the transport of clean-a water, dirty sewage and citizens, both-a clean and dirty across the entire Mushroomy Kingdom!” Luigi explained, proudly pacing back and fourth like a commander briefing his troops.

“Today we are-a going to do just-a that: I don’t-a think she knows I’m-a telling you this, but Princess Daisy is going to surprise the Life-a Sphere with-a greenhouse. A Great-a Big greenhouse. One so big you could describe it as Green-a Mansion! And she contracted us to install-a watering system for all of the plants.”

“First, we’re-a going to set up-a water channel from the source: the Pipe House.” Luigi gestured to the water treatment facility behind him.

Ryu shook the plumber's hand. "Always a pleasure to meet other fighters, Luigi." He said before turning his attention to the ninja. "I suppose you are Gon, right? I'm not sure if you picked up our conversation, but my name is Ryu." The fighter said before extending his hand once again a handshake. He only kept it for a decent moment before he turned his attention back to the plumber.

As Luigi began explaining the ropes of the job and what exactly they were sent in to do, Ryu couldn't help but pay attention to how his body language let out a lot of pride. Guess he either really enjoyed being a plumber or he took pride in his job. Regardless of such, the Street Fighter nodded in acknowledgement of their objective.

"Understood. I'll do my best."

"Well, they remember my name. Thats more than most people give me." Gon thought to himself, as he Grabbed Ryu's hand for the handshake, being a little awkward with it as he let go quickly, standing at attention. He just kind of seemed...awkward, in general. Gon nodded, looking toward the Treatment facility Luigi pointed out,  hopping up and down a little as if getting himself ready to do some work.


"Well, i think i know how to use a Wrench. Rigty-tighty lefty-loosy, yeah?" Gon said optimistically. Unfortunately, the ninja wasn't so sure a monkey wrench worked as well as a Sword did. "Well, If thats all, i think im as ready as ill ever be. Lead the way, my friend." Gon said, smiling under his cloth mask. While there was probably some more to this than Gon realized, he wanted to get this done faster. He heard somebody found some Anime DVD's out in the wastes and was uploading them online, and he wanted to get home and Veg out to his usual Otaku ways.

“That’s-a right, nice going Gon.” Luigi applauded the ninja’s wrench direction savvy.
“Sounds-a like you’re-already ready to-a use these super-a cool Plumber Tools!” Luigi presented as he produced an item box. With a swift uppercut to the underside, 6 tools were knocked out of the top, landing right into the hands of his two assistants. 3 in each.

“They’re-a part of your intern package:
These are-a the standard issue plumber’s Hammer,” Luigi listed as if he were E. Gadd himself showing off a new invention.
“A Monkey Wretch; A wrench fit for-a king, or-a kong,
And the plumber's best friend, the Plunger; It-a beats unclogging things with your hands, trust me.” Luigi assured with a wink of experience.

“Alrighty boys, here’s-a the plan: Since this-a job is oh-so importante, I'ma- appoint-a Me, Luigi as the Head-a Plumber for-a today.” (Gosh I've never been the head plumber before! This is gonna be so cool!) Luigi squeed in thought.
“And you-a-two will be my lovely assistantes.” He dubbed them, patting Ryu on his muscular back.

“Now-a be very very care-a-ful!” Luigi warned. “It’s-a common occurrence for creatures to curiously creep back up-a through-the pipework and make-a the pipe house their-a new home. And these intruders don’t-a like other intruders, like-a us, coming in and renovating.
So I'm-a gonna need you-a-two to cover my back while I'm-a work!” he briefed the game plan like a coach.

“Any questions?” Luigi opened the floor for last minute questions before venturing inside.

((Hello you, yes you! It's I, the omnipotent omniscient narrator! Here to explain to you what Luigi just said without that as-thick-as-it-is-fake Italian accent. This is how this mission is going to work:
Luigi will be making rolls to fill up a progress meter. When that progress meter is full, Luigi's job is done.
Enemies will attempt to not only attack you all, but Luigi and whatever he's working on too. These attacks will damage whatever he's working on, lowering the progress meter.
In every turn you have the choice to either fight off enemies or help Luigi finish his work.
You help Luigi by rolling with your tool and whatever modifier it utilizes. These rolls add to the progress meter.))

Ryu was caught off-guard as the tools went flying to him, but regardless of such, he managed to grab them with no harm done. Analyzing the tools at his disposal, he quickly improvised a utility belt with his...fighting belt. How? Beats me, but video game logic is always a wonder.

As Luigi told Ryu about the possible threats looming at the sewage, Ryu couldn't help but to consider prioritizing his training over sewer repairs. Of course, Ryu decided not to. Maybe because it'd eventually mean he would have to assume the role of a bodyguard and he could barely focus on multiple enemies at once...all the while needing to check on the head of the operations.

"No questions from me. I think I am ready." Ryu ended up saying, ready to follow Luigi wherever.

Gon wasn't sure what to make of the strange Carrying case the tools were carried in, but regardless, strapped the Tools onto his own belt as well. "Right, big clanky Monkey Wrench, heavy hammer and a plunger. The obvious tools of a Ninja!" Gon said, making fun of the fact this is a rather strange tool set for him to carry around. But fighting critters, those were words 
gon understood loud and clear.

"Mmmhm. I got it, lets go..uh...P-pipes...?" Gon struggled to come up with a victorious one-liner, and failed terribly.

“Well in-a that case, if we’re all-a ready, Let’s-a go!” Luigi rallied as he opened the door and led his interns in. He seemed much braver this time around thanks to having back up. This brave demeanor was short-lived however, as Luigi’s proud march slowed into a nervous tiptoe upon entering the darkness of the pipe house.

The interior of the Reploid City's Water Treatment Facility was large dimly lit and as acoustic as an echo chamber. The whole place was abundant with a wet, dusty and in some places even rusty network of pipes running all across the walls ceilings and floors. Some pipes large, some pipes small, some pipes short, others very tall. Some peoples passing through windows and doors, other piercing through the ceiling and the floor.

“Mama Mia. We ain’t-a done routine maintenance in-a longer than I'm-a thought!” Luigi scratched his head at the building’s dismal state.
“But we'll-a dust this place up-a good later, for now, We have-a job to-a do.” Luigi shrugged the atmosphere off with a snap of his fingers.
“In-a the meantime, I'm-a know just what’ll lighten the mood!”
Luigi drew another block out of his pocket. This one had a musical note on it instead of a question mark. Luigi struck this block from bellow and a soothing melody began to play.



“Now this really puts-a me in-a the mood.” Luigi sighed nostalgically.

Perhaps playing this music was not the best idea. The echoing of the song quickly attracted some more listeners.
Out of a large pipe emptying into the room came the echo of the swishing of reptile feet dragging a turtle shell.

“Oy! Who’s the bloke crankin’ that gaudy music?” a disgruntled spiny asked as it menacingly crawled out of the pipe.
“Oh-a no! Something’s coming out the plumbing!” Luigi shrieked at the crawling creature.
“This is so horribly dull. I hope something exciting happens soon I don’t care what it is!” another spiny complained as it crawled out of another large pipe on the other side of the room.
“Giant turtle’s out to get us!” Luigi freaked again.
“Actually we are a subspecies of koopa known as spinies.” A third spiny corrected Luigi, crawling out of a pipe on the second floor. “Besides being majorly quadrupedal, we are also distinguishable by the array of sharp protrusions on our shells.”
“Jeeper’s Yipes! They’re all coming out the pipes!” Luigi gasped in fright.
“Ugh. Where’s that dam music coming from?” a fourth spiny asked as it aloof and broodingly emerged from a fourth pipe on the second floor.
Acting fast, Luigi jumped over the first spiny, onto the pipe it emerged from.

With all his might, he twisted the handle, closing the pipe like a faucet.
“We’ve-a gotta shut up-a the pipes before more edgy monsters come-a through!”

“Ey what can we say? The more the merrier?” the first spiny said, turning around intending to prick Luigi.

Ryu was about to check on the other pipes when he noticed Spinies coming out of them. So that's what Luigi meant by those creatures making nests, huh...It seemed that the spiny creatures wouldn't stop coming unless they closed the pipes, according to the green-clad plumber. Whilst Ryu wanted to take the fighting into his own hands, it was best they stopped any incoming flux, lest the Street Fighter be overwhelmed by those creatures. Using his decent-ish acrobatics, Ryu went for the other pipe on the ground floor...

Ryu, without almost any effort, closed the handle of the pipe. He quickly laid out what he was going to do now.

"I'll handle them for now! You two focus on closing the pipes!"

With not much else to say, the eternal wanderer used his trademark hadou attack at one of the Spinies. "Hadoken!"

Gon watched as Luigi played his own music, sighing as he drew two earbuds from his Belt and put them into his ears, playing his own silly anime music  instead of the trash luigi had chosen. Not to insult music tastes, but, Gon liked his own better, as he proceeded to see some creatures running up the pipes to give there two cents. Finally! A Battle! Gon grabbed onto his blade, readying his battle stance...



"Oh..uh...Yeah, t-thats cool Ryu. Ill just...pipes." Gon said sadly as he moved his hand  to his, well, empty hand, running to a Faucet and turnin' to close.

Easy, Gon sighed as he looked back at the fight longingly, watching as Ryu threw a fireb-- F-FIREBALL?!

"THAT...IS SO COOL." Gon wound up saying out loud, as Ryu's Hadoken reminded him of so many anime attacks before. Oh well, not like he was gonna do much else. Gon took out one, what appeared to be a wrapper of Candy, before winding back and throwing it at the Spinr Ryu was wailing on. Mid-flight however, the Candy Wrappers shredded, revealing a ninja star!

Proceeding this, Gon's Blueberry Panic eye gave a bright Flash, as he watched Ryu. "Ok, Lets try this out." Gon said, as he reeled back... "Haddooo....KIN!" Gon said, albiet butchering the name, perfectly mimicing Ryu's Hadoken technique at that same Spiny!

Ryu's Hadoken did not only damage Spike, but it flipped him onto his shell.
“Oy this bloke flipped me on my back he did!” Spike cried as he flailed helplessly on his on his back, unable to right himself thanks to his own spines.
He was left wide open for Gon's ninja star to finish him off.
“Bollocks.” The spiny coughed, defeated as it was knocked into the water bellow.
With Spike knocked off the battlefield, Pointdexter was left in his place to be hit by Gon's imitation Hadoken.
“Wait a minute, why am I the one who-Ouch!” the spiny complained as it was fried by imitation hand fire.

The rest of the Spinies were knocked around by Ryu's hurricane kick as well.
Realizing that they were trapped and back up wasn't coming, the Spinies decided it was time to sting.
“Now this is more like it. It's you and me big guy!” Neil taunted Ryu. “Step on This!”

Yep. sitting in place like that will sure show Ryu.
“Humf. Worthless.” Sharpy scoffed at Neil's strategy.
“Now make way for the rage of a true warrior!” he flaunted as he unleashed his Dark Soul Edge Blade Strike Sting of Rage!

Thanks to Ryu and Gon's efforts, 3 of the 4 pipes were successfully sealed shut. The infesting Spiny swarm was almost subsided.
“Nice-a job boys!” Luigi praised his plumbers in training. “Just one-a more to-a go-Oh No!”
Luigi started strangely sniffing.
“I'm-a smell a smell... I kind-a smelly smell...” Luigi squinted suspiciously. “A kinda smelly smell that-a smells... smelly.”


“Ahoy there lads!”
Out of the last remaining pipe came...not a spiky turtle, but a creepy crab!
“What do ye think yer doing to me pipes?” The side stepper threatened as it snapped its claws at Gon.
“I aughta toss the lot of ye landlubbers overboard!”

the side stepper stepped sideways over to the other pipe and proceeded to unscrew it.
Luigi jumped up to the second floor to seal off that pipe like the rest, but he beaten to the pipe by another.
“Waguan, brethren?” A side stepper stepped out behind the first. “ 'Tis a party up in here?”
“We're-a already at-a max capacity!” Luigi retorted, as he quickly grabbed the pipe's valved and pulled it shut.

“Ey brudduh, don't be buggin'!” the side stepper protested as it latched onto the same valve, attempting to pull it back open.

The pesky crab managed to reopen the hatch.

So the creatures could reopen the pipes? Now there's a reason to finish them off as quick as possible. Before Ryu could do anything about that however, here comes the edgy spiny creature with it's Awesome McCool Name Move!

Ryu managed to dodge the move and turned his attention to the other Spiny, whom was taunting him to come and hit it. Didn't it see what he did to the other spiky turtle thing? "...Very well." Ryu said, before shooting yet another Hadoken.

"Yeah, Gonna stop you right there!" Gon said, grabbing his Saw-tooth Katana and unsheathing it in a quick motion, Swinging it down at Sebastian, preparing to try and cleave the poor Crab in two!

Following this, Gon Wound his foot back, trying to Punt Sebastian away from the pipes, not wanting to see the clearly-cartoonish crab again!
