15(Articuno's Defense against the Ice PSI while focusing)

The Ice hit Articuno while he was busy with the hedgehog but it did not do much it would seem except ruffle a few feathers.

Shaymin looked back to check on Paula when it seemed like the beam was about to hit Paula, giving time for the large avian to stand. Shaymin's eyes widened as the Ice Beam was knocked back towards him.

Shaymin had no time to dodge the beam of ice as it was too fast after she being knocked back by Paula. Shaymin tried to pull out of the way but the beam hit Shaymin's legs. Shaymin felt a sudden weight as the ice pulled him to the ground. He then found his feet were stuck in blocks of ice. He tried to move them but it was a bit difficult. The constant cold also greatly prevented him from focusing long enough to attack.

Articuno smirked at the counterattack backfiring before they had to deal with an annoying fly trying to slice them and bite them.

Articuno took the wing  attack pretty hard and stumbled back. This stumble left the bird wide open for Cynder to transfer the poison into the avian's blood. Articuno stepped back and looked like they were going to be sick... in fact they did feel really sick. Fortunately, their cold blood neautrilized most of the poison but it was not enough to keep them from feeling terrible. Articuno closed their eyes for a few seconds until a thick layer of cold air coated their body. "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Articuno looked angry.



"It is about time we stop playing around. I have played your game for long enough! It's time I have gotten serious! Prepare for your demise! GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Articuno said as they spread their wings and let off a bright flash. Nothing seemed to happen at first as Articuno stood with their arms spread... But then the air around Paula, Shaymin and Cynder seemed to start to get colder slowly... It did not stay slow for long however as the very temperature around them began to chill rapidly at dangerous speeds. The temperatures around them was beginning to reach dangerous levels and it became clear it was a very bad idea to stay in Articuno's area of focus too long as they used their most powerful and lethal attack... Sheer Cold.


17(Articuno's Desperation Attack, Sheer Cold. This attack deals double the damage an attack normally would and has a 100% chance to freeze if it hits. However, if it is dodged, Articuno has to take any attacks at full force due to the concentration needed for the attack and the freeze only lasts one turn max. Articuno is unable to use this attack past this point)

Shaymin's feet frozen to the ground, he had to break out of the ice fast to get away in time. Shaymin tried to move his legs with as much speed and force as he could possibly muster.

Shaymin managed to successfully shatter the ice binding his feet to the ground. However, he still had to escape the area of cooling before it was too late. Shaymin took to the air and attempted to quickly fly before they were too cold to move.

Shaymin managed to get out of the Sheer Cold just in time and faced Articuno. They made Paula hit them twice now. It was time for a little payback. Shaymin focused on Articuno and channeled the life energies between Cynder and Articuno. Articuno used this connection to drain the energy from Articuno and then transfer it to Cynder in the form of green orbs. Articuno flinched and seemed impressed with Shaymin making it out of their attack despite the ice.

Paula watched as Shaymin slowly turned around at the ice beam that was now heading towards him, she gasped and yelled. "SHAYMIN GET OUT OF THE WAY!" She said at the Pocket Monster, but It was too late, he was hit by the attack and was now stuck on the ground. "Whoops." Paula thought to herself as she flew to her Pocket Monster friend to check on him. "Sorry about that Shaymin, I was going to hit the beam at the Articuno, who's now getting pummelled by Cynder." Paula said to Shaymin as she watched Cynder deal a good beat down on Articuno, who became pissed off after the attack and yelled at the three.

"Uh oh, the decline of temperatures not good...Why Is he doing It on purpose?"

"Does anyone not feel there legs now?" Paula said as she looked down and noticed her legs were frozen shut...Again. "Curd, I basically cant move again...Hang on I can still attack while you do...Whatever your doing to Cynder Shaymin." Paula said as she watched Shaymin transfer some orbs from Articuno to Cynder as she jumped forward and tried to break free from her leg ice prison.

After much moving, Paula still couldn't break free from her leg ice prison and even fell on the ground. "Oh no...Look's like I'm going to be stuck for awhile, everyone keep fighting I'll break free eventually." Paula said as she tried to crawl towards the Articuno so she can hit It with her pan attack.

"Come on...Legs, don't fail me now..."

Articuno's screeches didn't sound too encouraging, Cynder detaching herself and bounding away from the sickened bird. Hopefully her poison helped them finish this little scuffle a bit faster. It seemed the blue bird had the same idea as they charged up their next super attack. As the area began noticeably dropping temperature from it's already chilly state Cynder instinctively made to lunge to the side with her wings assisting. However, the even with the winds assisting her escape there wasn't much they could do when her front legs scraped across a sheet of ice hidden under the snowy encampment. With wide eyes she practically face planted as the Sheer Cold enveloped the area around her.

The air cracked and began to solidify, Cynder taking the last seconds of freedom to curl up and protect herself; sending her control of wind out in a whiplash around her in a last ditch attempt to make this less devastating. And it seemed to work. As the ice formed up and encased the dark dragon balled up on the ground she barely retained consciousness. The cold seeped into her scaly body, restrained so she couldn't shiver to retain body heat. It took everything she had left not to black out.

In the next moment a warming energy washed over her. It had to be Shaymin. Great appreciation welled within Cynder. This fight wasn't done just yet, she had to get out of this; she would get out. She just needed a moment to gather her strength.

Articuno looked successful in freezing the other two but Shaymin was still proving a nuisance. The dragon and girl being still kicking was a massive problem as well. Articuno was surprised the dragon survived despite her weakened state. Regardless, Articuno had to get the annoying flying dog out of his way. Articuno froze the air in front of it to create thick shards of ice before sending them at Shaymin to try and slice him to pieces.

Articuno's weakened state forced them to fumble before sending the shards which made them horribly inaccurate. The attack was still extremely quick as Shaymin swerved and dived out of the way of the shards. Shaymin must admit, he would not of been able to dodge that if Articuno was not sick because of Cynder. Though, speaking of that, even though Cynder survived, she was still in danger. Articuno seemed to noticed this too as he made to fly after Cynder and finish the job. Shaymin flew in a quick attempt to intercept Articuno and protect her as she did for them back in the fight against Frost.

Articuno gave a sneeze which slowed them down a bit. This accursed illness from that dragon was really missing them up. This sneeze was all Shaymin needed to get between the bird and Cynder. Articuno tried to fly around but Shaymin was always one step ahead. "GYAAAAAAH!" Articuno roared in rage with it's wings spread. "Stop getting in my way foolish mutt!"

"Sorry, but I think it is time I finish this up," Shaymin said as he started to glow jade and the winds started whipping up in the cove. "I shall now show you our true power!" Shaymin declared before he started flying around Articuno and started getting faster and faster. Articuno's head followed the gratitude Pokemon until he started to get dizzy and could not keep up with the speed. The winds then started forming a hurricane from Shaymin's speed. Articuno soon found it near impossible to control flight and started getting tossed around in the tornado. Shaymin then flew out of the spiral and stood in the air a short distance from the vortex of wind. Shaymin's jade glow then started to grow even more intense as the light quickly became blinding. The Sky Warrior then flew into the tornado he made and unleashed the explosive shockwave of Seed Flare in a massive explosion of jade flight that filled the entire cave and blinded the area for a few seconds.

After the attack, Sky became exhausted and the jade glow continued as they shrunk before becoming Land Forme who fell to the ground in exhaustion. Articuno fell to the ground and their wings covered their body as they breathed heavily after that strike.

Articuno and Shaymin continued to breathe heavily until Articuno spread their wings and let out another "GYAAAAAAAAAH!" Shaymin reflexively closed their eyes and flinched... but nothing happened. Shaymin opened their eyes to see Articuno collapse to the ground in defeat. "You three... have done... suprisingly well..." Articuno uttered between breaths. "Take these items and the Frostvine for trophies of your power," Articuno said as the air chilled above Paula, Shaymin and Cynder before Freezies dropped for each to have.

Articuno paused before adding on, "I was also surprised by how you were able to avoid my Sheer Cold despite being Frozen. Use this if you ever feel you need my aide,"Articuno said as a bright blue glow appeared above Cynder, Paula and Shaymin before an Azure Flute would slowly fall in front of them.

REWARD-Azure Flute
This Flute is a mystical gift that was given as a reward for surprising Articuno with your might. This flute will summon Articuno to the field of battle as if you got them out of a Pokeball. However, Articuno will use Sheer Cold instead of Icy Wind. Sheer Cold will do more damage than a usual attack and freeze all foes for one turn if they are hit. Articuno will fly away after using Sheer Cold. This item may only be used once per mission and breaks after 6 uses.

Shaymin was surprised by the rewards and stuffed them away in a small pouch. "Thank you," Shaymin said appreciatively before walking over to the Frostvine Flower and plucking it before adding it to the grass on her back. "We did it! Thank you, Paula and Cynder!" Shaymin said happily as she jumped up and down.

As Paula struggled to get her feet out of the ice, she watched in horror as Cynder also became frozen just like her earlier. "Cynder, no!" Paula said as she struggled to reach towards her dragon friend, who was keeping trouble trying not to black out in her ice prison as Shaymin continued to fight Articuno, who quickly got sick and had trouble flying, soon Shaymin decided that enough was enough...And created a tornado.

As Paula tried to make It towards Cynder, she turned to see Articuno going into the newly made tornado. "Wow, I never knew Shaymin can do that." Paula thought to herself as her eyes widened at Shaymin who jumped into the tornado soon after, probably to do the finishing touch's on defeating Articuno, soon the tornado spit the two out and were barely breathing, with Articuno being very injured, Shaymin soon shot some seeds everywhere in the room and a bright flash also covered the room, when It left, both Paula and Cynder were freed from there ice prison.

"Cynder your ok...Thank goodness, you look like you were about to faint In there." Paula said to Cynder as she got out a piece of food for Cynder to eat, she also got out another two for her and Shaymin. "Here, everyone should have them, we had a tough and intense mission." Paula said as she turned to Articuno, who praised the trio on there fighting skills. "Well you were a challenge Is well, will you be alright?" Paula said to Articuno as she gave the trio a flute to summon him, six times and the best gift of all...




A freezie!

"Oh, a freezie, thank you for the gift." Paula said happily to Articuno as the pocket monster left the area to somewhere unknown, leaving the three with the flower that they were looking for the entire mission, Shaymin jumped in glee and thanked Paula and Cynder for there help on getting the flower. "It was no problem Shaymin, were glad that you got the flower In one piece and hope It helps you In the future." Paula said as she soon looked at her and Cynder. "Anyway, I cant leave this cave yet, those people are still trapped in there, I'm going to get them out since we don't have to worry about enemy's now." Paula said as she turned towards the exit of the area and ran towards It, but not before looking back at her two partners again and speaking.

"It was nice enjoying this mission with you two, I'll see you back at the Life Sphere, bye!"

And so Paula left to save the frozen prisoners and get them back to the Life Sphere.

Cynder watched from her frozen prison, building up strength in a muddled haze trying to focus on her breathing to keep the darkness away. Too bad she wasted her ultimate on Frost. It would have been ideal for avoiding the predicament she was now in. To her relief their legendary was able to subdue the larger pokémon; the ice melting around her. That saved her the embarrassment of, possibly, not breaking out as well as saving what strength she had left. Cynder uncurled herself to find Paula right nearby.
"Oh uh no, I-I'm fine. Just took me off guard is all," she replied to the girl's concerns, following up her false words with a slow rise to her feet. The dragoness did her best not to look shaky as she moved, passing Paula a tired smile. When the food was offered her expression dropped into surprise. "Thank you Paula." It certainly helped.

As each item floated down before her she gathered them and put them away in the black hole that is her inventory. She gave a silent nodding bow to Articuno in a show of appreciation, wincing just as quietly as her muscles began to whine about the recent exertion. Next up was thank yous from Shaymin, of which Cynder's face broke into a happy toothy smile.
"Just don't lose it now," she added playfully to Paula's welcomed words.

Her head twisted back around to the psychic as she reminded everyone of the frozen citizens trapped back in the cave. Cynder thought for a moment, watching her ally wave and say goodbye.
"Wait up! I'll help you unfreeze them and escort back to the Life Sphere." Before she left she made sure to give Shaymin a couple final words of appreciation for the last moments of the fight and wish her luck. Cynder then trotted at an awkward cant back into the cave to finish up their business here then head home.
