All of Life Sphere is quiet. Every towns person, every race, every creature, every being is all huddled within Sunshine Circle staring blankly at the entrance to Samus's laboratory. Some sweating and filled with nerves. Others look determined and courageous. A few even look hysterical, as if psychotically aroused for this army of diseased monsters to come and rip them all apart. But all of them had one common truth, they knew what was coming regardless.

A row of Chansey are in a straight line staring at the sky and chanting something next to the worried Nurse Joy of Lightweather Hospital eying everyone around her completely smitten. A couple of Yoshi are laying down both depressed and unsure of what to do next to a few toads sitting silently on a bench counting their coins and double checking a couple bags of packed clothes they have started on in expectation for the worst.

A few Hyrulians stand and stare next to eachother a few feet away from the laboratory equipped with wooden shields and dooku wood swords while they begin to comfort eachother with the sounds of their Ocarinas playing mellow tunes and giving off vibes of faith.

The jungle brethren of Donkey Kong and his friends gather in a corner of Sunshine Circle peeling bananas and frantically gouging themselves as if this was their last meal.

Everyone...everything...sort of...come together in a frenzy of emotion. And then...finally....an electronic lock sounds and the door to Samus's laboratory opens in a cloud of smoke and humidity. Out comes Samus. A tall, slender, faceless and emotionless soul, prepared to face an entire population and ready them for battle. She doesn't say a word. She simply motions everyone to surround her and pulls down the visor of her helmet so everyone can see her piercing eyes. She at last utters something.

"Hello. I will answer your questions with honesty. Nothing more I can promise."

Instantly a bombardment of questions and concerns fill the air as all sorts of citizens and concerned individuals address their issues to Samus. She sighs and prepares for what's to come.

Shadow watches from the distance as Samus gets littered with all sorts of questions from countless citizens of the Life Sphere. He shakes his head wondering why so many are spending so much time asking questions and being concerned when everyone should be readying their mind, body, and spirit for the battle to come. Exhausted of this waiting around, Shadow makes his way to the gate of the Life Sphere, keeping a sharp eye out for the coming intruders.

The bickering from behind him only grows louder as he tries to drain out the noise, but it doesn't appear to be working too well, his focus is constantly distracted. He clenches his fists as if about to let out a burst of anger to the bickering, but he doesn't. He relaxes himself and realizes he will do whatever it takes to stop these enemies from destroying the only place keeping him safe and the few remaining survivors alive after such an epidemic untouched and unharmed. It was his turn to be the hero now, even if that meant doing things by himself. He looks up at the sky and mutters something.

"Maria....help me continue to stay strong. Help me remain pure."

After a few moments of star gazing so to speak, he returns his eyes to the gate, and looks on in a weighing patience.

X kept out of the growing crowd around Samus. He would be easier to hear from a different spot. The sound would not as easily blend in with the others'. Finally, he began to speak. "What do you assume we can expect from the infiltrators?" he asked. He had yelled it at the top of whatever circuitry or chips would fit the description of "lungs" in this context.

Across the crowd from the guy in blue armor, Lemmy still clearly heard the question. The worm decided to chime in, though his light voice would most likely blend together with the sound of the others. "Yeah! I mean, is my pistol enough, or should I bring some explosives as well? I mean, the bazooka is heavy! If it's not necessary, I don't want to bring it!"

The Tasmanian Tiger looked down at the worm that had just yelled, who stood, well, sat I suppose, next to him. He couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of a worm carrying bazookas and guns. Ty picked up the worm. "Hey, mate. Doubt she'll hear ya from down there!" he said.

Lemmy was about to fight back as the large mammal had picked him up. Well, not particularly large to others, but to Lemmy, he was large. As he reached the top though, and heard the orange thing's words, he calmed down. He then repeated what he had said moments ago.

Samus perked her head up to a few questions in particular that seemed to stand out. By a worm, and a robotic boy. She answered them in order.

"To the strange robot boy. The answer is simple. Expect them to have the intention of spreading their disease to reach the entire Sphere and the community. If we let them inside this Sphere even slightly, it will contaminate the oxygen and molecular levels so that the disease would spread like a wild fire and reach the entire community within minutes. And also expect them to have a need to destroy everything. They like to work in packs, so prepare yourself."

Samus then answered the question of the worm like specimen.

"As for the worm's question, I think someone of your size and stature is better off as....well....espionage so to speak. I would stay out of harm's way and only attack if you think you wouldn't get caught. I think you'd be better suited for spying tactics. No offense."

Samus waited for other questions to arise. But she noticed a hedgehog standing at the gate and a concern raised in her mind. He was away from the meeting and standing alone at the gate. If the attackers were to advance, he'd be the first one attacked. She spoke out.

"You there! The Hedge vermin! Back away from the gate. That's a dangerous place to be."

Suddenly everyone's heads turned to the hedgehog. He seemed to have raised quite a stir, now almost the entire community of Life Sphere had their eyes on Samus and the hedgehog. Samus looks around and becomes irritated.

"Oh great. Look at the attention you've got now!"

Samus angrily waits for the hedgehog to explain himself as the crowd waits along with her. A few comments from the crowd can be heard such as "He's CRAZY!", "Your gonna kill yourself!", "I'm not going near that idiot!" And thus, a new bickering begins.

Shadow looked over at the one known as Samus questioning him and scorned her. He replies with offensive vigor.

"Is this...AMUSING to you? Waiting around and asking questions while their getting closer to us? We all need to be taking positions outside this gate and driving them off as far away from this place as we can. And these people see you as a leader or a role model? Your only making things worse."

Shadow dashes to the center of the crowd and passed Samus. He hops up onto the roof of Samus's lab and makes sure all eyes are on him.

"Anyone who's with me to leave here and start hunting down those plagued scum, scream out right now and let me hear your courage! We can't wait around and let those evil monstrosities make their way ever closer to destroy us and what this so called tech genius Samus Aran has created. If she doesn't want to protect her cause, then we should! Who wants to fight them with me!"

There seems to be a mass confusion sounding off in the crowd. And now Shadow seems to be standing pretty embarrassed by his actions.

Lemmy wouldn't even consider being set as a spy. To sneak up on people was not exactly the way worms did things, warfare-wise. Still being held by the orange mammal, he yelled out "I'm with you! I may not look like much, but I'm armed to my teeth! I'm not gonna wait in here while they're getting closer!

Ty looked at the worm as he spoke, and put him down. "Eh. Not sure if this is a good idea, but sure. Someone's gotta look out fer this fella! 'Sides, we might as well try 'ta fend'em off fer th'back troops!"
The worm looked up at him with a mixed mood of being insulted, angry and pleased. It was strange.

X debated in his head what to do. In the end, he decided that the best would be to stay behind and help the troops in the back along with Samus. He doesn't say anything, he just stands there, staring at the hedgehog as everyone else seemed to.

Mr. Game and Watch

Mr. G&W was among the crowd of those who were attacking Samus with questions, though he can’t speak a language that any of them can understand so he chose not to speak. He was there to hear of what was going to happen for his own personal safety. He walked his way to the front of the crowd to try and hear what Samus had to say because he couldn’t hear much past the shouts of the irritating citizens. Squeezing through a large and clustered crowd was not difficult for a completely flat man.

Many would wonder how a being like Mr. Game & Watch could function, but it was something that would be best not to think hardly about. He waited patiently for Samus to speak and answer some questions as he stood there with his arms crossed and foot tapping repeatedly. He had patience for hearing when they were going to die.

Then he watched the cinematic going on between Shadow and Samus he was anxious to them fight, but sadly he never was satisfied. He heard Shadow’s speech and he didn’t much care for the Life Sphere itself besides the fact it was a sanctuary for himself. He had no real plan for if this place were to be destroyed, so he had no choice, but to help with this cause. He raised his hand to the sky with a 2-D sign that didn’t have any words on it and let out a loud beep.

A.I.M.

A.I.M. was patrolling around the entire Sunshine Circle making sure that every single creature within it was safe, it wasn’t a part of the commotion going on around itself until the robot heard the mass of confusion originating from its creator’s lab. It twisted its head around to see what was going on since it was not facing the same direction as the lab.

“Must investigate, A.I.M. will pursue” it said as it hovered its way over to the crowd stopping by an odd bunch of characters that the robot identified as Ty, Mega-man and Lemmy. “What is the current situation?” it asked them, not noticing Shadow at the moment.

X turned to look at the robot. "Creatures with a strange version of the disease are closing in on Life Sphere, and it is apparently highly infectious. If even one enters through the gates, the air will be polluted with the disease within minutes. It seems that the black and red hedgehog had attempted to go out and attack now, not awaiting Samus' orders. So far, the strange dog and the worm here have said that they would join Shadow in the front lines," X replied. The 'dog' chuckled a bit as it was mentioned.

Samus's eyes shot a painful stare at Shadow. She had a cold, calculated stance. She put her visor back on, morph jumped to Shadow's position on the roof. Stood face to face with him, stared him down with a deep tenacity, and replied to his, in her mind, brainless ranting.

"Do you realize what's out there? Do you? Have you spent months studying these plague rats like me? Have you been devoting almost your entire field of research on the Starvia genetics? DO YOU EVEN CARE if these people live or die?"

Samus started pressing some buttons on her right arm and a digital display popped up showing all kinds of statistics of the disease.

"Fun fact number one. By only standing within five feet of you, by SIMPLY STANDING....there is a five point nine percent chance you can be subjected to the disease and become infected within twenty four hours."

Samus presses another button on her arm and a second display pops up.

"Fun fact number two. Fifty percent of the current Life Sphere population cannot adequately defend themselves against this threat. Some of those in which are disabled citizens or infants that have not yet grown, therefore have not comprehended the danger of this war. Ten percent of the population is riddled with too much fear to do much of anything except hope and pray...Hedgehog....that they will live."

Samus turns off her HUD displays and leans in closer to Shadow's face.

"Hope...and...pray. All this information was done by surveys and analytical tests conducted through late night scanning of households and the number and personalities of the specimens that live and breath here daily. I make sure their safe. I created this haven. I take responsibility for their deaths. Not Sonic and his half minded Blue Strap of Safety nonsense, or Mario and his improbable No Hero Left Behind Act. I keep this sphere up so we stay alive."

Suddenly the crowd seems to be nodding and taking Samus's side.

"If you want to send these people to their deaths with your complete stupidity and interest in the art of extremism because you can run fast and fight with smoke and mirrors be my guest. Otherwise...leave my colleagues and my fellow neighbors of this currently safe living environment alone, and let me do my job. DO you comprehend?"

Samus's body was completely stiff. Not a sway, not a twitch. Like an icicle freshly formed, she would not budge and her voice would not fault. She was serious. This was HER domain. And her premise was not going to be compromised.

Frost sat quietly, anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. He never enjoyed arguments, but this one was interesting. He then nodded. "I'm in!"

[Mr. Game & Watch]

A.I.M.

It listened to the robot boy’s short summary of the events that took place and it would have cringed at the comment about fighting the infected, if it were able to cringe. “Do not go near the infected, the proper authorities shall handle this situation” A.I.M. warned the three. Then the sound of the robot’s creator caught its attention and it listened to every word she said to the rebellious hedgehog. A.I.M. could not stick to the sidelines of this argument and felt it must interrupt. “Excuse me for a moment” the robot spoke again to the three before it turned to the laboratory.

From beneath the robot’s hover pad erected a large torrent of flame which propelled itself upward. A.I.M.’s body leaned forward which guided it in the same direction, which again was toward the roof of the laboratory. The robot stopped itself once it reached the roof and landed quite close to Samus. It looked up toward her almost ignoring the hedgehog that she was arguing with.

“If I may interject here, I am a machine the starvia virus will not affect me, I shall fend off the infected as long as I can, you must evacuate the area in this time. If I am not to survive, I am no worse off, this is what I was programmed for” the robot informed.

Mr. Game & Watch

Mr. G&W did not wait to listen to Samus’s argument of the subject, mostly because he doesn’t care to hear it. he turned away from the so called fight and began his digitized waddle toward the outer walls to fight the infected. He had no other choice given to him as to how to deal with this situation so he chose to fight. Though he wasn’t sure if anyone else was following behind him, he still continued the march to his doom.

He had no plan and as of yet no back up, so he wasn’t exactly a strategic genius. He was basically going blindly into battle, but that was probably because he had no hope of survival and he was going to go out fighting.

The entire speech didn't seem to phase Shadow one bit. He had the same blank stare on his face as he did watching the horizon at the gate. He was not persuaded at all by Samus's retaliative attempt at convincing him to realize his error, it did however, make Shadow more likely to go and fight this coming attack himself. He looked right back in her eyes with a burning fire.

"Keep your theories and your unprecedented attempts at what you call helpful science. I'll stick to my common sense and see that we need to act now."

Shadow turns towards the crowd and says one last thing.

"Either fight with me and push the attackers off our turf, or wait behind this bubble and hope whatever defensive tactics you can provide will work before it's too late. I do not care what you decide. I'm going."

In a flash Shadow dashes off the roof and runs towards the gate ready to break through the guards if he has to. Either way, he was going after the invaders before it was too late.

Just like that, off the hedgehog went to his genocide. Samus wasn't going to stop him. She believed he was too hot headed to even consider her points. She kept her composure and knew she had to be a leader in this moment in order to keep the sphere safe. She then turned to the A.I.M. unit and did some sort of scanning process from her suit module to check the robot's schematics.

"A.I.M....systems online...seem to be a decent influx, as they should....I am going to install a pre-recorded S.O.S. message and data bank insurgence into your processor. You will be fighting along side the capable warriors from the Life Sphere.

I will not allow you to take them on alone. By injecting you with S.O.S. capabilities and planet data, if someone finds you injured or lost in battle you will be our beacon to redirect them back to the sphere and hopefully guide them back to us and urge them to bring help for the coming invasion. I don't know how many times they'll attack us, but if there is more than what my radar projected, we need to be ready and prepared."

After a few more streams of data being injected into A.I.M.'s mechanics, Samus turned back to the remaining crowd that haven't already marched off to the gate with Shadow, and readied herself for a speech of encouragement, to fortify the people, and bring cause back to their minds. But before she opened her mouth she heard familiar sounds of two very well known heroes.

Samus looked over to the gate and saw exactly who they were. She smiled.

One of the two figures Samus saw was a familiar sight indeed. A blue ball of light swirled across the air and smashed itself right in front of the gate planting it's feet in front of Shadow and the others before they could act with lightning speed. Once the dust settled it was apparent who it was.

"Enough!"

Sonic The Hedgehog added himself to this little argument and blocked the only entrance into Life Sphere with his spikey blue body. He looked directly at Shadow leading the charge and wagged his finger at him.

"Well well, if it isn't the Ultimate Lame-O! I heard your little speech working everyone up after Samus's oh so...heart felt attempt at rallying our community together. I gotta say I was impressed! And I actually agree with alot of it! BUT!"

Sonic runs circles around Shadow as if to mock him then stops right back in front of him and the rest of the beings following him.

"You aren't going to take our people into hell. I'd usually approve of stuff like this, but my enforcement of the Blue Strap of Safety Act and Mario's backing...I can't let this happen. I'm not letting you be responsible for so many innocent lives."

Before looking for a reaction out of Shadow or anyone else, Sonic adds more to his conversation.

"Besides Shadow Fake....I already took the initiative to scout ahead and eye the incoming attackers for myself. They took up camp just over the hills. They're hiding under the cover of some portable black cloud...which from what I know typically gives them a source of power.

Their natural toxins of the disease create the cloud thingy. And if we go anywhere near that thing we're plague zombies in no time! So...as an alternative...I'm going up ahead and setting a trap for them. A simple trench with a few Koopa Troopas for air assault and a couple catapults the Bomb-ombs curated. I still have to run it by Mario but I think he'd be-"

A fireball crashes in between Sonic and company disrupting their decision making. A red suited man comes jumping down from the roof tops to butt in so to speak on their negotiations. He doesn't look happy.

"You blue idiot!"

The sound of his voice made it clear to everyone who it was. Though Mario's voice technique seemed to have changed overtime and his vocabulary has gotten a bit...expanded ever since having the time to read and research inside the Life Sphere, the italian accent was still quite noticeable. His new and improved vocabulary however, seems to almost be able to go toe to toe with Samus in the communication sense. His tone was infuriated. He mostly directed his anger at Sonic.

"Why am I missing half the Mushroom Kingdom's fleet of fighters? How dare you send my people to do your bidding! I knew I couldn't trust you to snoop around Brightwing Lane for too long without coaxing some of the civilians to fight for you."

Sonic rolled his eyes.

"Get over it toilet man! This is a dangerous time. We need to be smart!"

Mario scoffed at Sonic gesturing him with a fist.

"You consider yourself smart? HA! You have the intelligence of a premature CheepCheep!"

Sonic stomps a foot in front of Mario in response.

"This coming from a plumber that eats mushrooms and wears costumes to show everyone how...heroic he is!"

Samus sighs, rubbing her head in a major migraine. Now it was only a matter of time before this whole place turns into a first class riot.

But all of the sudden something stopped the bickering entirely. The ground beneath the sphere begins to shake violently. Samus scans the radius quickly with her suit technology and reads a source causing the earthquake. It's coming from the sky, at an alarming rate!

"Everyone, eyes up and stay alert!"

Samus warns the entire community, but all it does is make everyone panic. A gigantic asteroid starts burning it's way downwards to the Life Sphere! It's speed is greater than the average gravity projectile. Monstrous black flames surround the object. The size of it grows bigger the more closer it gets.

Everyone starts scattering getting to shelter and higher ground. Sonic and Mario start directing people to safer areas of the sphere. Samus begins initiating emergency procedures and opening the underground bunkers beneath her lab for the residents to access.

"Get to cover! NOW!"

Her voice is barely audible. The crackling and booming noise of the asteroid overpowers her voice. Getting a closer look at it with her visor, Samus saw it wasn't just an asteroid about to hit the sphere, it was a familiar enemy; more importantly in the Hyrule Kingdom sense.



"TO THE BUNKERS! RUN! RUN!"

A scene of chaos was in sow. The asteroid was going to break through the Life Sphere's defenses at this speed. Samus had no other option but to enter her laboratory and test drive a new prototype known as the Particle Cannon for instances of aerial assaults like this one. Within minutes Samus had staggered her way into her lab and began to open her skyline roof. A large cannon slowly ascended from it. She ran to the top of her lab and immediately surveyed the prototype diagnosing the machine to make sure it won't malfunction. Almost instantly she see's a problem.

"Oh...dammit!"

Her Cannon cannot run without a power reroute directly to her lab's facility. It would take time to fix and it's time she did not have.

Samus patches her voice through the large building screens and sound systems of the entire Life Sphere to make sure her voice is audible by everyone.

"Attention Life Sphere! Remain calm! And get to cover! Sonic, Mario, and those wishing to help the fight, I need time to recalibrate my Particle Cannon to take out the asteroid! It needs to be wired directly to my lab's power banks. This will take time!Everyone needs to...what the hell....hold on...my lab's radar sensory is going off the charts!"

To add to the worry, Dark Clouds started to form around the Asteroid as it moved to impact. The clouds began to form figures from above. The figures began to land just outside the sphere gates in a black fog. Freshly spawned infected began to cluster just outside the entrance way! Some equipped with weapons, others spawned in a fury instantly bashing the Life Sphere's energy field. Samus's heart skipped a beat. But she had to think fast.

"My god...this can't....this can't be! ALL ABLE FIGHTERS, DON'T LET THE INFECTED IN! Mario, Sonic, get everyone that cannot fight to safety! As to those who can, quickly get to the gate and fight them off! Whatever you do, don't get too close to their spawn clouds! I need a few of you to defend my lab so I can get this cannon working to fend off the asteroid! STAY STRONG!"

Samus couldn't say anything more except stay focused and not forget to breathe in the process. It is life or death. The invaders are now becoming relentless. The disease is much worse than anyone had feared.

Rabbid stared at the infected that had just landed. Then, lifting his plunger, he charged to battle. "DDDAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Meanwhile, Frost stared at them. "So, we have to fight THEM?" he said, having not expecting that many.

Leon's gaze was fixed on the horde of infected moving towards the life sphere entrance. Rather then pulling out his pistol, he decided his rocket launcher was best suited for this Battle. However, With only one shot, he had to make it count. Leon Opened his COM link, "Stay back from the entrance, I'll use my Launcher to take care of them when they and if they get in." He proceeded to make his way to the top of a near by building.

Gamma waited patiently for the intruders to enter the sphere. "Multiple units incoming." he said aloud. "Contacts will be eliminated."
He raised his weapons and prepared to battle.
