A rather unusual visitor to the arena perhaps but a girl that seemed confident in her abilities to be there was a flower girl known as Aerith. Gardener of the pretty over practical but we all need that from time to time. As well as we need good old violent sportsmanship. Still she stood on one side of the arena with her eyes closed and hands clasped looking like prayer. An open invitation to a fight was submitted now she just waited for who took it.

"One way or another... it must change..." she muttered to herself before taking up her staff in preparation. Eyes watching the other gates in expectation. Changing fate and also bringing life to another dying planet. Her life was never easy but she will take hardships if it means seeing out what she needs to. And this hardship today is training to get back what strength she lost. On the road to that final fantasy.

And that was when Aerith was met with her shadow on the ground before her extending further and further away from her, before seemingly melting into one spot opposite her in the arena, forming a puddle of pretty ombre, which slowly rose as a blackened ichor that formed a ginger lady with short horns clad in blue armor, holding a particularly mean scepter. She takes a moment to look Aerith over with her cunning blue eyes...



"Uhuhu~...It seems you've drawn my attention today. What'll it be?" The strange lady twirls her staff around, before tapping her chin with it. Around the contours of her rather lean physique loomed a particularly savage yet dreamy dark magenta aura. "A spar, or a full-on tussle? I must warn you that conventional play is not quite... on my agenda. I have my own special way of playing 'fair', and I hope you'll dazzle me as well. Mhmhm~" She chuckles a bit confidently, folding her arms and tapping her heeled boots on the ground, before grinding her heel.

Aerith felt a weird presence from her shadow, watching it extend as she prepped herself for something strange to happen.... And that came in the form of a girl materializing from seemingly nothing but said shadow. She looked... peculiar and had the vibe of someone that just popped out of people's shadows. "I did? Huh..." Aerith replied. Did she do something to summon her? Maybe not worth questioning too much but still an interesting implication...

"... Well, I guess tusseling is kind of the point, isn't it? And yeah, by your unconventional entrance I can guess that..." she responds. Well, this seemed to be a challenger, so no need to hold back then. She channeled the winds before declaring. "Aerora!" Summoning a small cyclone around Lich.

Sparks then surged around her as she kept the spell chain going with "Thundara!" calling down a powerful lightning bolt onto Lich with a deafening crash.

She gathered energy while those were dealt with for one last spell. Though this was less reliant on mana since she drained that pretty hard. She hovered with a twirl and then aimed her staff at Lich. "And now, Judgement!" she declared, a powerful beam of light emitting from her staff and attempting to penetrate her target.

"Ah, right, and my name is Aerith. I'm unconventional for a flower girl myself," she introduced herself with a bow before she landed... The audience seemed more expecting of the show though. Where were the flowers?!

The Lich nods at Aerith's response. She's been itching for a great battle- hopefully Aerith could meet up with her standards! An air spell this early bodes no good. The Lich is going to swiftly merge with the shadows to avoid the attack!

A deftly dodged feat- no specialty of hers, but vital for her success! The Lich carefully observes Aerith as she moves through the shadows, focusing her eyes solely on Aerith and Aerith only. Here comes a lightning spell... The Lich is going to make another attempt to weave out of harm's way utilising a cartwheel to try and manoeuvre around the the crackling storm that seemed to be heading her way.

Surprisingly enough, the electrical attack is potent enough to have the Lich convulse painfully. She's been paralysed.

And she didn't quite see the piercing rays of light coming her way either. SHEESH. That is a lot of damage heading her way... but what can she do? The first hit had definitely gone through, causing her to jerk uncontrollably from the hit.

Even after just bearing the pain of that attack, the Lich is still as tenacious as ever... She opts to teleport away from the second hit.

...nope! No good either. Another painful strike. Though through all that, she doesn't seem angered or disappointed, only... thrilled? She's eager to pressure Aerith now that she's got her turn coming around- she hopes Aerith will like pain.

~The Lich's Turn~

First up! She's going to play it smart and wear Aerith down! The Lich raises her arms and staff up to the air, and from the space between, a rippling purple aura of thoughts emerged, rippling with images of comfortable sleep and troublesome nightmares... The Void of Nightmares. The rippling effect is here. Game might change this way, she thought.

She giggles with her signature "Fuhuhu~" whilst setting that up!

Secondly, she'll try to lock Aerith in place. The Lich touches the ground as her shadow extends and slithers from its natural form to try and bind Aerith to the ground for easier management. Her eyes go glassy as she hums a little.

And as that goes on, should it work, she'll follow it up with her favourite attack of all- as she summons sparkly blobs of pink miasma to hurl at Aerith. Specifically three. But just to make sure she isn't well and hasn't gone unhindered. Glob-blob-blob.

And lastly, the Lich will appeal to the crowd with a dreamy twirl of her staff, as per customs she had set for herself pre-battle- in an attempt to win the hearts of the people.

Aerith gave a confused glance around as Lich did... something to the atmosphere though she could not tell what it felt... bad. She better be cautious if she wants to make it through this with an aura like that-... Her feet can't move! She moved her leg, looking down in a small panic as it seemed she was trapped in place. She looked up from her perdicament, unable to pull herself out of the bind as she is smacked with a fury of miasma, coughing a bit as she started to feel ill. She... was starting to get her fighting style now. Seeking to ware her down. She couldn't force herself to move yet so she opted for the offensive.

Aerith started to feel a bit exhausted... something about this aura was making it harder to stay awake but she fought subconscious for now. She waved her staff and fired a barrage of light orbs at her opponent, hoping to damage her a bit in the fury. She then raised the staff, channeling a lot of magical energy before calling down a powerful bolt of lightning like mana onto Lich, the blast sending her crashing back with it's force, probably disrupting her grapple focus on Aerith who felt she needed the reprieve.

Aerith gave a wince and some pants as the poison could be felt going through her body... Dang, she doesn't have enough magic for Esuna right now. So rather than spend time appealing to the crowd, she put a hand to her heart, channeling a pink light as she restored some of her mana supply.

Lich sees the barrage of spells heading towards her, so she makes her best attempt despite being paralysed to save her skin so that she may put the pain in later.

~The Lich's Turn~

Having spent all her energy was definitely having a toll on her. Despite all her wincing, panting and trepidation, she was still smiling. She amounted all the rest of her energy to laugh... finding joy and release despite the burden it took on her just to be able to remain kneeling... The thrill of battled consumed her entire psyche, forcing her to jitter with exhausted glee as her pupils shrank. She figured, that just maybe... maybe if she had enough, she'd pull for one final stand...

Though she had soon come to realise she couldn't move whatsoever. Unable to stand up, the Lich let out one final, mighty laugh.
"Mmmmhmmhmhmhehehehehe... heheheheheHEHEHEHEHE... AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~! Ha..."
And before Aerith knew it, she fell to the floor, incapacitated and convulsing with electricity.

Aerith wins.

[Aerith the Last Cetra]

Aerith prepared herself as the foe seemed to be readying for another push... Until they started convulsing and the weight holding her vanishing... Oh... That was not good... "Oops, guess I really overdid it... Hm, Esuna!" She cast Esuna on Lich would really only help with the paralysis. "I at least owe to look after your recovery for a bit," she'd move to gently carry Lich out of the arena crossfire best she could incase some people just jump down for a fight. The crowd for one did not seem to enjoy her performance.
