The Phantom Lich (Relilia)
Casodea Kingdom of Struquem
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Motto: "I have reached a new level of excellence...! Fuhuhu~"
Allies/Friends: Corii, Bowser Jr,
Enemies/Rivals: Anyone who steps in the way of her sometimes unethical development practices or hurts her friends on purpose!
Backstory: The Phantom Lich. The daughter of the King of the Utopian Underworld under his name, and also of a psychomeddler who thrives off negative emotions. The Lich certainly had some standards set for her. Her mother was set on usurping her father for his power, and with the help of her later mentioned friends, she sealed her psychopath of a mother back in the nightmare coffin, never to be seen again.
After making her mark home in Utopia's Struquem, she made her kingdom with agreement from the continent's God of Lightning, Raido. From there, she began to accrue a large gathering of phantoms, humans and all else all alike to further her studies and pioneer a new era. Having a natural curiosity for innovation, she eventually met Sol, the Demigoddess of Light, Corii, the Lucky Verdant Sage, and Skrellig, the Grimnire Reaper whilst staving off a corrupt yet previously allied monarch from her kingdom. The Lich didn't leave much, but she came to become a great catalyst in the success of the restoration of order to the world.
The offspring of both a subconscious terror and an ethereal king gave her just the right abilities to perform her necromancy and psychic abilities to the fullest. Despite the downfall of her power-hungry mother, she promised herself and her father to become the strongest of all nations- and indeed she was. Bolstering magical prowess, technological genius, and the undead at her whim, she ruled Casodea with an iron fist and a sweet smile. There's only so much more to do, though... every day was a new breakthrough for her cunning genius.
Appearance:
History On Li: For everyone in Utopia, returning to normal life meant enjoying the world, recovering from tragedies, and relaxing. However, for the Lich, it meant more research, concoctionery and plenty of business. So much business, in fact, that the Lich's sales for her special brews and unique wares got her through the roof with cash! Uh... literally! So much that she had to invest in another... Idon'tknow vaults! And most importantly, she's still brimming with ideas! So to expand her business, she took up travelling to other worlds to build alliances, friendships, and get more employees to build her empire. And that's when she stumbled upon Li- a world built on a completely artificial planet, now ridden with a virus that the Lich fears may harm her sales and so many innocent people getting caught up in the mess. As much as she wanted to get down to her usual antics, now wasn't the time- she'd have to work to save the people.
The Lich vowed to be a helping hand and a hero to all who needed it. The world needs one Princess of the Underworld, and that would be her! For the sake of the souls! For the sake of the flesh- and most importantly, to be a catalyst for the growth of her own business! But the world was vast and unknowing of her goodness, she figured. There was possibly no way she could accrue a large gathering of disciples immediately or simply; she'd have to offer herself first in the brink of battle. Something she was quite fond of, actually. With a multitude of ideas, and many more miles to go, the Lich set off on her journey of science, psychology and economics to sway the people in her favour and make herself a place on Li. She's not an angel or a perfectly hinged friend, but if you're tough, she's tough with you. Sha-blooey!
Primary Attacks (3)
Psycho Bomb: [4% Light Force WIS-based damage] Lich forms three to four blobs of psychokinetic matter at a victim to distort their body with a swelling force centered at their core. She deals damage for each attack that lands. For each blob that hits, there is a cumulative 30% to inflict Paralysis. If it stacks again, it will inflict Slowed, and the duration is recalculated.
Ethereal Lance: [20% Heavy Radiant Piercing STR-based Damage] Lich assaults the victim with a lance made of otherworldly matter. To cast this attack, Lich inflicts 4% damage upon herself, which grants her a +2 boost to the Ethereal Lance's accuracy.
Cedna Mirage: [7% Medium Force Damage per copy from Mind Erosion, cooldown varies] Lich temporarily summons her familiar, Cedna, to dunk glitchy lavender orbs of crackling arcane energy upon one or multiple victims that shocks them. If Lich attacks multiple targets with this attack rather than one, she cannot target the same target twice unless all other victims have been hit. This attack makes as many accuracy rolls as copies from Mind Erosion. For 3 or 4 copies, the cooldown is 2 turns.
Special Attacks (3)
Enigmatic Genesis (Gimmick): The Lich's aura constantly bends the barrier between the real world and the realm of the subconscious. When dealing individual sets of damage, the victim is afflicted with a Drowsy Counter that stacks up to 5 times. These counters reduce the victim's will to resist the Lich's force. For every 2 Drowsy Counters afflicted upon a victim, they receive a -1 penalty to defensive checks against the Lich by a magical pressure that forces an abnormal drowsniess that draws the victim closer to nightmares, making them sluggish and stricken with despair. Drowsy Counters can only be cured by items and effects that wake a target up. The victim must make a d20 CON check, much like they would if they were receiving a status. Rolling a nat1 cures no Drowsy Counters. Rolling 2-5 cures 1. 6-9 cures 2. 10-13 cures 3. 14-17 cures 4. 18+ cures all 5. 1d4 Drowsy Counters fade one at a time if Lich does not hit the target that turn. When making accuracy checks, Lich uses WIS for the sake of spellcasting.
If Lich grapples a victim with Drowsy Counters, she locks them in a vicious nightmarish spell, dealing an unfettered 4% damage per turn.
Psychorruptor: [15% Unholy Heavy WIS-based AOE damage, 2-turn cooldown] Lich draws the powers of illusions in her hands, draining the victims of their Drowsy Counters and firing a missile of unfathomable energy that encases the victim, choking the energy out of them. For every Drowsy Counter the victim has been afflicted with, the odds of that victim falling asleep is increased by 20%, capping out at 100%.
Mind Erosion: [5% Light Acid WIS-based damage per copy, cooldown varies] Lich slinks into the shadows, forming 1d3+1 apparitions of herself. The apparitions will all attack at the end of the turn by lobbing a blob of funky yet highly acidic chemicals that lingers a while to dish a chemical punch to a target's body, dealing damage. For the next 3 turns, the residue chemicals left on the target inflict 1% passive acid damage per apparition that can be removed by water attacks. 2-3 clones will have a 1-turn cooldown. 4 clones will have a 2-turn cooldown. Apparitions do not fade at the end of the move, and will support successful attacks with a 1-apparition Mind Erosion attack, though without its secondary effect. Clones have 5% HP and can be attacked directly, with a modifier for all rolls of +1 on defence and using Lich's WIS in accuracy of their attacks. If Lich is still stunned on her turn, this will remove all the clones.
Ethereal Gates Uprising
Lich dons her reaping gear and gets to work, opening a massive gate from another plane of existence to smite all targets. Every turn for 3 turns she can only cast one attack.
At the end of the transformation, she takes 15% recoil damage. Lich gains a +2 to accuracy for the duration of this FS.
Midnight Mania: [16% Unholy Damage] Lich bombards all victims unlucky to have avoided the attack with oodles of huge dark ethereal wisps that increase the accuracy of the next attack by +1. It stacks for the duration of this FS. On the last turn of the final Smash, this attack deals 20% damage.
(Midnight Mania: The most anticipated BLAST 'EM GAME of raining hell, but ported to 40 different victims for an enriching replayable experience three times a day.)
Other Info: Lich is capable of free flight using levitation and telepathy to privately communicate ideas between allies in battle.
