[Cannibelle, Old Goddess]

The situation is dire. With no idea where the divine spark was lost during the battle with Dharkon, adventurers, heroes, villains, and opportunists alike have taken to the Emerald Coast to search. You find yourselves among them for one reason or another. Perhaps you seek to take it for yourself and gain divine powers. Perhaps you need it to pay off an insurmountable debt. Or perhaps you recognize the folly of entrusting such power to any one hand, and you seek to prevent anyone from ever holding it again. One thing is for sure, powerful players have been attracted and they won't be content to let you run off with it if you find it first.

You find yourselves around a large set of ancient ruins of some sort just kinda sitting out in the middle of nowhere, Emerald Coast, or perhaps an odd artistic structure by the looks of it. It's mostly flat brick ground with strange markings along the brick in a massive circular shape spanning a good mile, with rings further out. Hovering just above the surface of the ground in a gracefully lazy fashion, a doppelganger of Palutena sporting bright pink hair found herself studying the markings on the ground in concern. They didn't mean much to her, but she could tell they meant something to someone, if not just aesthetically. Hey, what do you suppose the odds are of a goddess intuitively being able to track down the divine essence? Regardless, the activity of gods was certainly a clue to some that suggested this might be the right direction.

Shizuka was walking around, she had decided that she was going to help find the divine spark, but there was no reason as to why she was doing this. Maybe she was doing this to find redemption? It was currently unknown what her intentions with the divine spark are should she find it.

She soon noticed the Palutena doppelganger and walked over towards her.

"Hey." Shizuka introduced herself, with no emotion in her voice what so ever.

"So... Are you the evil twin of that Palutena girl or something?" She asked emotionlessly.

"Well, a doozy. You probably haven't heard, but there was this whole bit about a kid stealin' powers from a goddess of nature or whateverthe heck she's the domain of."

"Not the craziest thing I've heard around here."

"Same 'ere. Anyway, turns out a while ago, the kid's lost those powers, and now the goddess is after this 'divine spark' she's left behind. Something 'bout restoring her powers. Was pretty loud 'bout it too, actually."

"Uh huh."

"...Cloud, I'm gonna be honest with ya, man. With how loose-lipped she was...a lotta people are gonna chase after that thing. Deities, average people, everyone in between, all to get a shot at gettin' this god power in their hands. This is gonna be dangerous."

"You want that thing destroyed, then?"

"Heh. Ya find it, ya can do whatever ya want with it, man. But between you and me, Cloud...that thing's better off gone."

"Glad we agree, then."

"A'ight. If ya come back alive and update me on what happened to that spark, I'll reward ya handsomely. Come back with proof of that divine spark destroyed, that reward's doubled. How's that?"

"...You got a deal."

"Always a pleasure doin' business with ya, Cloud. A word of advice for this peculiar bounty, though..."

"Hm?"

"Don't trust anyone."

Cloud parked his motorcycle onto the entrance of the ruins the information broker gave him. He stared long and hard at the temple in front of him, the words of his employer echoing in his mind. He could surmise that there would be one hell of an arms race to get this spark, so he'd come in friction with...well, whoever else wanted the orb for something else other than 'destroy it'.

He couldn't let anyone take it. That kind of power intoxicated people, no matter the goodwill of whoever got it.
Was he out of his depth taking such a mission...? No, he could absolutely do this. He could do it. He had to.

Cloud noticed the pink-haired woman and the girl talking to each other, though he doesn't approach or try to start small talk. He, in fact, moves a bit further ahead, trying to start searching for this divine spark.

"A divine spark eh? Sounds like one hell of a time too me~!" Helena would crack her knuckles as she caught wind of the tale. A spark of godhood? That's an almost perfect treasure. Something like that is bound to track some powerful folks.

"Let's see how much ass I can kick today. Been dying for some more action! And with that, the hellhound would head out. Her lips curled into a grin as she got ready for the coming battle.

A loud series of heavy thumps would fill the air as a massive horned dinosaur came strolling up too the ruins. Lounging atop the beast, was Helena. Her massive frame holding itself up by the two horns of companion's head. His laser canons, primed and ready too fire at the first sign of a fight brewing, as Helena hopped off of him. The mochi's eyes wandering over the group before her as she thought too herself.

A goddess who looks like she stepped straight out of a Paradox, a girl with the emotional capacity of a brick wall, and some spiky haired dude with a sword bigger than her thighs. Yup this gonna be a weird one alright. She wasn't going too pay the girls too much mind, they hadn't started a fight or anything. Instead she focused on Cloud, the hellhound following after him as Gulp followed behind.

Ruins like this were the perfect place for this kind of search. These kinds of places always seemed to draw in the bizarre. Didn't matter what time or world you were in. Of course with the bizarre also comes the strong. This place was gonna be crawling with freaks, and who knows how many of them aren't in the mood too talk.

Of course, that's why she showed up.

A young girl in a school uniform arrived onto the field wearing an axe that looked too big for her, golden bracelets and a jack-o-lantern on her shoulders where her head should've been. Alright she felt ridiculous. Was that because of her gear, or because she was hunting god status, a thing she wasn't sure she actually believed in? Probably both. Anyway, she looks around at the ruins, suddenly realizing she had no idea what a 'divine essence' would even look like, before she noticed someone familiar in Helena. ...Hey, didn't I eat you? On second thought, maybe this jack o lantern disguise wasn't all that bad. Maybe she wouldn't be recognized. That sounded great right now.

A streak of light flashed in the sky above the ruins everyone was waiting at as Krystal's CloudRunner flew overhead. A few seconds later, Krystal landed on the ground nearby with a grunt. It'd been a bit since she skydived into the field like that, but it was the fastest way she knew how to get around the planet. And the quicker she got to the rendezvous point, the better, because this one was gonna be a doozy. She wasn't really one to deal with gods, but a divine spark sounded like something that shouldn't just be left for anyone that happened to find it. 

Getting to her feet, Krystal made her way over to the group of people already gathered at the ruins, looking them over and mentally logging them. A couple normal girls, albeit one of them seemed to be wearing a pumpkin on her head, a rather tall woman with pink hair that radiated power, at least Krystal thought so. A man with a sword taller then he was, and a massive dog-woman that had the confidence and presence to match her size. She didn't recognize anyone, but honestly that was probably for the best. Without a word, she joined up with the girls, deciding not to investigate further like Helena and Cloud were doing. Probably shouldn't stick her nose into anything strange, especially for a mission like this

Tifa had no ride to reach the destination, but that’s what childhood friends with motorcycles are for. She just got a ride from Cloud. He parked his bike by the ruins that merchant told him…but Cloud’s was a little lost in thought since then. Granted, that’s nothing new, but this one appeared after he talked to that man. Just what did he told Cloud?

Well, this mission…find some sort of power from some god? She wasn’t sure of the details, but she heard of a huge battle involving this divine essence. So it seems it was left behind, and they gotta get it. Oh, she is so glad that Shinra wasn’t here or they would be after it like vultures…

…or Sephiroth here to get it.

Cannibelle greeted Shizuka with an attempt at an inviting smile, at least at first. She visibly recoiled ever so slightly at the accusation of being Palutena's evil twin. Oh that brought her back to the age of crusades in an awful sort of way. it made her... distinctly uncomfortable, even. “...Well, I suppose evil is a matter of perspective. But no, I wouldn't say so.” she replied with just a hint of discontent in her tone. “My name is Cannibelle, and I am a goddess here seeking the divine spark, ...much like yourselves I imagine. I am hoping to prevent it from causing more chaos than it already has. Divine wars are not good for the survival of budding goddesses~!” Cannibelle explained somewhat dryly, before breaking into nervous laughter at that last bit. She understood that these weren't necessarily her allies that she was speaking to. “...I love your looks by the way. There's so much variety here on Li.” she went on to add, casting a fond glance that ended on Krystal. She reminded her of of some other old gods people of the modern world probably only remembered as paintings on egyptian walls. Good times.

Krystal! ...Weirdly enough, you cannot read Cannibelle's mind. It seems like she has protections against mind reading, weirdly enough.

"Excuse me, did you say you're searching for the divine spark?" a man's voice asked. Approaching the girls, a man with strikingly long hair and an old fashioned outfit made himself known. “Yyyes?” Cannibelle replied, unsure why he asked if he had apparently overheard them. Was it so unbelievable?

"...Then face me in battle, and we will decide whether you are even worthy of such power."

Cannibelle's expression shifted to an annoyed frown at the remark. It seemed the man intended to engage in the old fashioned, time honored tradition of beating women until they stop being so uppity. Which was concerning, but less insulting than the fact that he had just asked a goddess to prove she was worthy of divinity. You fockin' wot m8? Before she could finish deciding how she wanted to respond to that slight, the ground began to shake. Oh!

All of you feel the ground begin lifting up underneath you, lifting you up into the air ... and into the sky.

The man unceremoniously throws himself off the island, before a large dragon bursts past the rising island, presenting himself before the group in his true form. He then hovered above the rising island, gazing upon the tiny people that dared claim great power for themselves.

"I am Bahamut, and I demand satisfaction!!"

Shizuka shrugged at what Cannibelle said, and glared at her, almost like she was judging her after she made that laugh. "There's reasons." Shizuka replied back about divine wars, before turning towards the newcomers but didn't say anything about them. She looked at Krystal a little bit however, but her gaze soon changed when a man appeared.

It seems as though he was after the spark too, and was intending to battle the girls, and Cloud over it, something of which Shizuka wished to avoid.

So she took out her ray gun and aimed it at the guy. "If you're planning to use it to do rich people stuff then I'm not allowing that... I don't think something like the spark should be used by someone like you..." She said, only for the area to completely changed and for the group to go upwards, Shizuka stood in place.

But turned towards the Man when he transformed into something else.

A dragon by the name of Bahamut.

"Great... It seems as though the problem has escalated..." Shizuka said, before doing a whistle with her fingers and summoning an eagle.

Who flew upwards into the area that the group were now in. He swooped down towards Bahamut and tried to peck one of his eyes three times.

"Nope." Cloud replied to Tifa, not really turning around to meet her gaze for the moment. "That happened way before I came here. Heard it from word of mouth." he explained, looking at the assorted characters. All looking for the same thing he was, all for different reasons...maybe.

He turns to Tifa, and pauses for a bit. They were friends since childhood, he could trust her...right? Or well, it was a gamble he was willing to take with her. After a moment of silence, he beckons her closer and starts speaking to her in hushed tones. "Tifa, listen. This divine essence is going to attract a lot of people who'll want to take that power for themselves. Be careful. Some of them might be among us right now." he warned, before his attention was taken to a new figure who broke the silence amongst the group in general: a well-dressed man with long hair.

As soon as he openly stated his intention of fighting all of them, Cloud had his grip on the Buster Sword, ready to draw it. Before he could draw a biting remark, the ground shook, and the ruins that they were on suddenly began to ascend to the sky. The, the man jumped from the island, and soon...came a giant, black dragon, calling himself Bahamut.

...Great. It really was gonna be one of those bounties.

Well, he was not going to quit. He drew his Buster Sword and took a deep breath. "We should put aside our differences for now. If this guy really is what he says, then we're in for a really rough fight." Cloud said. Far be it from the Bahamut he saw in that training field be the only one. Li was a temporal and spacial mess.

Grabbing a materia, he channeled its magic, a wall of hexagons suddenly enveloping him in a shield-like formation. He had to play it safe for the moment.

(Cloud casts Manawall. Cuts any damage instance in half for 2 turns, costs 40 MP.)

Cloud then rushed towards the dragon and went for a slash at one of his claws, before turning to take a swing at his head.

Well it's a wise decision to trust Tifa, or her feelings would hurt very much. They are childhood friends (never mind that she lied to Cloud about him being part of SOLDIER and being there in the Nibelhiem tragedy. She was scared to tell him the truth...even though he was there, and kicked Sephiroth's ass. Confusing story.)

Smiling at him, "Keeping a dangerous power from the wrong hands. Reminds me of the Black Mater---wait, did that ever happ-"

But that question will have to wait, for a mighty dragon appeared, challenging them for a fight. Bahamut, huh? Is he part of their world? He's one of the summons, right? She's not sure if they ever found his Materia, or if Chadley gave them one, but she'll figure it out later.

Taking a fighting stance alongside Cloud, "So...same old situation; fighting big monsters who're itching for a fight." Frankly, she doesn't care. She's just glad to have found Cloud, and she heard that Aerith is around. Now if only she can find the others...and talk to Aerith about...something.

Tifa rushed over to the dragon, alongside Cloud, punching her palm to activate her blue Materia, which gave a spark around her fists.

Elementize Materia- Tifa activates a blue materia known as Elementize in her gloves accompanied by an elemental material, temporarily bestowing an element to all her attacks for 2 turns, along with giving them all an additional effect befitting the element. After the boost the Blue Materia needs 2 turns to recharge for another burst. Thunder element activated

Tifa rapidly punched the dragon, each hit blasting electric sparks on the beast that should paralyze it.

Martial Arts- Tifa's method of combat is with strong kicks and punches befitting her fit appearance. She can also tap into her chi to help fight. At their heart her attacks can be swift or hit their target hard. [Light to Medium STR Attack, 8-18%]

Ending the combo, Tifa ran up the dragon's body...

...and pretty much did this up at the dragon's chin, performing a powerful axel kick that got her off the monster.

Somersault- Tifa slides forward to a foe before breaking into a somersault to slam them really high into the air with massive power. Can also just be a somersault at close range. Deals massive damage but she leaves herself vulnerable, lowering her next dodge by 2. [Heavy Strength Attack, 28%]

As Krystal waited for everyone else to arrive, stray ambient thoughts echoed through her head as the people around her mulled over the ruins and what exactly they were doing here. All except one. The tall women with pink hair that Krystal could feel immense power from...didn't seem to have any thoughts at all. It was like someone had stuck something in her ears in a sense, actively blocking out any attempts for her to listen in. As the woman gave her what looked like a fond look, Krystal politely smiled back, filing this information away. "Why thank you. There are a lot of unique people here. It seems every time I think I've seen everything this place finds a way to surprise me."

However, the conversation was abruptly stopped by another presence, who while not the most physically imposing, nearly knocked Krystal off her feet with his mental power alone. This was one powerful guy! But before Krystal could get much of a read on him, the earth started rumbling beneath her. She gripped her staff tightly as the ruins around them started rising into the sky, with the entire group along with it! The sudden earth movements almost make Krystal lose her balance again, but she steadfastly kept a grip. And not a second too soon, because the as the new arrival jumped off the rising ruins, in their place was a gigantic dragon! 

Krystal was nervous, but she stood her ground. Okay, it's okay, they could do this. It was just like that giant sky dragon she and Sango fought, right? And there was more people this time, so they stood a chance....probably? Maybe? Regardless, as the dragon soared through the sky in front of them, Krystal aimed the tip of her staff toward it and launched a large chunk of ice toward the overgrown lizard!

Following that, Krystal planted her staff in the ground and launching herself up toward the dragon after Tifa, and swung her still-freezing staff at its hide, propelling herself around with each strike

Helena had more or less ignored the conversations going on behind and in front of her. She hardly even noticed the well dressed man as she seemed more content on heading deeper... until the earth began too shake. A small devilish grin would spread across her face as she whipped around just in time too see the Dragon rise up. Helena leaping onto Gulp's head as her minion turned around. Seemed like the action was finally starting.

"Satisfaction huh? Heh... guess that makes two of us big guy." Gulp would start charging forward too the front lines as she said that.

"Honestly... I couldn't give less of a fuck about what happens too that damn spark. Gods are a pain in the ass, no matter what world you're from. Adding one more too pile doesn't matter all that much too me."

The massive green dinosaur suddenly skidded too a stop as they got close. Just in time for Helena too raise her leg... and stomp down, sending the appendage stretching out as it smashed through the ground, Splattering a thick puddle of chocolate where it broke the earth as it tunneled through before suddenly breaking out of the stone and striking into his mid-section.

"But I do care about the fact that it brings out pompous pricks like you!"

As that kick struck, Gulp would suddenly throw his head up, launching Helena into the air, right towards her foe. Her stretched out limb returning too her leg like a rubber band slapping back into place as she lunged straight towards Bahamut's face. Both of her arms raising above herself as the eyes on her gauntlets suddenly started glowing a bright blue, causing wisps of flame to coat her hands. Shifting them into a pair of massive claws which she immediately slashed with in a downward X motion with an angry howl. The slashes remaining there for a few moments before they suddenly exploded with an intense ferocity. knocking Helena down from the air as she snapped her fingers. Causing the chocolate puddle she'd left in front of Gulp too start bubbling before it formed a large spherical glop of burning chocolate that launched itself towards the target's body, bouncing off of it and forming another puddle on the ground a short distance from the massive dragon... but not before leaving behind some consistently burning chocolate behind where it struck.

That snap was also her signal too Gulp, who immediately sprang into action. No sooner had her puddle turned into a projectile than he'd sprung into action. The dinosaur charging forward, leaping into the air too catch Helena on his back as he landed right in front of Bahamut's claws. The heavy weight goon raising one of his feet up before stomping it down on his hand just as it drifted too close too the ground.

A slight tap on his head would direct Gulp's attention back too his new boss/rider as Helena formed a finger gun with her hand and aimed it right up at Bahamut's chest. Without a sound, he knew exactly what she wanted... and he delivered. His canons had been primed the second he saw the dragon appear, killing these things were what they were made for after all, and as they turned too face the dragon's form. A loud crackle would fill the air as they charged up and...

KA-PHEW! A pair of electrically charged missiles fired from the two spires attached too Gulp's back. The two swirling together too form a single projectile that exploded violently against Bahamut's chest. Helena's grin having widened as she stood atop her ally.

"I don't need some stupid spark too give me a shortcut too power. Not when I can got a perfectly fine dragon to eat right in front of me." Adrenaline was properly pumping through her "veins" now. Helena's eye flames having turned into an inferno that wrapped around her head. This was why she came here. She didn't care about the actual fight for the spark itself. She knew deep down her chances at getting it were slim. But this? A fight for her life, high above the clouds, staring down some legendary dragon from another world?

This was what she lived for. It was all she had left too live for.

Rachel had to resist her legs actively turning into jelly as she was dragged high up into the air. Oh geez this was so high up, and there wasn't a way down. If she fell... Rachel could feel her heart racing in panic. It was then that things went form bad to worse... That's a dragon! That handsome man was a dragon! A flying dragon. Oh! This was... clearly beyond her. She could jump what, a foot into the air? That's a DRAGON! All it has to do is not land and breath fire at her and she'll die eventually if not immediately! And there was nothing she could really do to so much as inconvenience it from down here! She had no crazy superpowers that could get her up there! So she put aside her pride and... cried out for help! "Bw-I-I can't... reach... I don't want to fall..." she whines, cowering slightly in fear where she stood paralyzed in anticipation of the end.

Bahamut spares a glance to the terrified child and hesitates, considering whether he really wants to go through with this. She hardly seemed like much of a threat, and he got the impression she didn't want to do this... “Shelter yourself, child. I will take you back to my domain once we are done settling our differences here.” the dragon's mighty voice echoed, deciding to spare Rachel from what was to come.


Shizuka
...Only for some bird to begin pecking at his skull. THIS child, on the other hand, was going to get roasted over an open megaflare! Bahamut turns his head upward and snaps at Margalo in an attempt to bite her out of the sky!

He then turned on Cloud and spewed a megaflare at him on approach, stopping him dead in his tracks!

Tifa manages to score several good hits on Bahamut before the giant dragon is able to retaliate, taking a couple of swift swipes at her in an attempt to smack her out of the air back to the ground.

Krystal! You exchange blows with the massive dragon and he counters you, first by deflecting your ice blast with a powerful blast of his wings and then, as you dare to confront him face to face, he turns and swats you with his tail, sending you cratering down into the ground with a heavy impact!

Helena
Helena manages to get off one very good hit on Bahamut, who was still recoiling in awe at her ... verbal prowess, before he stopped her dead in her tracks with a shout that shook her like an earthquake. “ENOUGH!!” he roared, only to be struck by a couple of fire missiles.

Bahamut scoffed slightly, lowering himself slightly to address her directly before his wrath became apparent. “You who would dishonor me with your words, and do battle with me not for reason, but out of perverse will! I condemn you. BURN!!” Bahamut shouts. He then erupts in raw mana, showering Helena with a storm of deadly raw magic. He seems to deliberately concentrate the falling hellfire upon Helena, rather than allowing it to ravage the party indiscriminately.

Cannibelle osberves as the battles goes on, remaining quiet and not drawing excess attention to herself for the most part as she assesses the situation. Not a single prayer huh? She wistfully resigned herself to direct action. Maybe someday she'd be popular enough that she didn't have to ask people to pray to her. Ah well. That wasn't something she could change right now, she reasoned. Angel Land wasn't built in a day, and such!

She rummaged through her thoughts and brought to mind an old spell from millenia past, conjuring it before her as a pair of giant, strikingly gorgeous eyes conjured in the air above her! Together, they perform a gaze attack upon Bahamut!

She was mildly distressed by Rachel's inability to fight a flying foe, but wasn't about to pressure her into combat if she wasn't brave enough, and she feared it might be too early to offer her aid. So she focused her attention upon ... Krystal. After a moment, Krystal hears a voice in her head. ("Remember that you're not alone. I can help you in all sorts of ways.") the voice fondly remarks in concern, before a warmth fills Krystal, healing her injuries.
