"I have a proposal. Help me find one specific little thing, and I'll remove the darkness that I planted in you."
"...I know you doubt me. I am a bad guy, after all. But Kairi has never lied to you, has she? I'm basically her, just...a bit more 'edgy', as some people might call it."
"Ssssometime this week? I haven't thought that far ahead because getting you to help was important, admittedly. Might overlap with your next would-be game, but...not gonna sound like a broken record. I'll keep you updated though!"
"Alright~! Catch you later, Xion!"
Didn't take too long for Dark Kairi to call for her help in the end.
The two were looking at a warehouse in the Black Market in the middle of the night, observing a truck park next to the entrance. A couple of individuals step out and move out to the back of the truck. "Those are...Absolutionists." Xion mumbles, observing the stylized emblem. "One of the more competent factions, too." Dark Kairi said. "They snagged an important journal I've been meaning to get my hands on for a while. You and I are just gonna get there and snag it back."
"Alright." Xion said with a nod. She felt a bit less bad aiding Kairi's dark variant since they were going to sabotage Absolutionists. Juuust a bit though. "What's the plan?" she asked Dark Kairi. The darker redhead smiled. "Well, the idea is pretty simple...we crush them!" she said in a dissonant happy tone. "They won't be getting backup anytime soon, and between you and me, we can deal with these guys lickety-split. Especially with you cutting loose."
"...well, you're in charge." Xion said, summoning her Kingdom Key. The Keyblade was now emitting a harsh red aura. "Let's make this quick." Xion simply said, her red eyes now glowing.
"Heheh. Let's do it." Dark Kairi said with a grin, summoning her own Keyblade. Both of them then jumped towards the warehouse.
"Agh!!" An Absolutionist grunted as Xion slammed him on the warehouse's wall, knocking him unconscious. The raven-haired girl stared at him unflinchingly for a second or two before turning around, looking at the other defeated Absolutionists. "Pathetic. Not even worth as a warm-up." Xion said to herself, slowly walking through the assortment of downed foes to meet up with Dark Kairi.
"Well, I got what I wanted!" The Kairi alternate said, holding up a seemingly non-descript, white journal in her hands. "Thanks, Xion! You've been a big help." she said, patting the other on her head.
"Well, you got what you came for. Now what about me?" Xion asked, raising an eyebrow at Kairi's dark alternate. This was the moment of truth.
"Oh, sure! Just stay still for a moment." Dark Kairi, pulling out...an orb? She held it towards Xion, and the dark aura swirling around her was being directed towards it and absorbed. Xion could feel the veil on her mind dissipating, the dark whispers and thoughts ceasing, her power returning to normal...
It takes but a moment, and the orb absorbs the dark miasma that was giving Xion so much trouble. "Told you I'm a girl of my word. Note that I didn't absorb your natural darkness, just the one I've implanted within you. And it's all gone, no trace of it left. Though...if you want to be sure, you can consult your 'Master Aqua' to check it for you." Dark Kairi said, storing the now-flaring-with-darkness orb into her inventory.
"I...I feel like my old self again. Thanks, Kairi." Xion said, offering a small smile. To her surprise, Dark Kairi's expression briefly changes - a smile that, while small, was genuine and relieved, yet also...filled with guilt. "Oh, you're welcome~!" Dark Kairi said, coming back to her more 'fake' happiness. "Well, guess that's the end of that, then. I wish we could have worked together like this more, but...there's been a change of plans. Rest assured though, for the help you've given me...I will give you a place to stay in the New Reality."
"New Reality? What are you talking about?" Xion asked. "Hehe, that's a secret for now~. I have a feeling we'll meet again." Dark Kairi replied simply, before opening a corridor of darkness and entering it, leaving Xion by her lonesome.
Xion decides to hightail it out of there, not wanting to risk getting ambushed by Absolutionists or other shady figures. Inwardly though, there was a sense of relief, the darkness that was corrupting her now gone from her heart.
Dark Kairi's actions confused her to no end, but...she was grateful that it was over now.
Dark Kairi reaches her apartment, slapping the door closed as she made way to a table with an old book resting in it. She placed the journal she nabbed next to it.
"Well, with this, I'll have the 13 darknesses from different realities." Dark Kairi said to herself, placing the miasma-filled orb in a special jar. "Even with the intervention of the other me, Xion accrued a lot of darkness. Enough to pump a replica full of it." she continued. "Now...I just need the 7 lights."
The old book's title read "The Key of Reality".
The journal's title read "Replica Program Logs -by Vexen".
Dark Kairi clutched her chest. "...Sora. Riku. We'll be back together soon."
"..."

"...fine. The sooner we do this, the better."
