Journal Entry #1



To anyone who reads these logs, Perhaps after my death, or in the event of historical logging, I am, Among many titles, Doctor Ciel. I was the former leader of the Resistance Force fighting for the liberation of the inhabitants of Neo Arcadia, to bring down it's leader, Copy X. A Creation of my own that I continue to regret the inception of.



I create these logs in hopes that, In some hope that after my death, They will be read and, In some way, My memory will be kept as a prisoner of this war. Like the many unfortunate dialogues of wars of the past that had been destroyed. I would hate for there to be a lack of history, Like the Elf Wars before us.



We were caught in route toward the Underground Laboratory where my last journal log's had mentioned, Where a Great Hero had laid to rest. Zero. It seems that a Guardian of Neo Arcadia, Phantom, Had discovered our plan and stopped us on route. I did not wish to rest with the blood of my fellow resistance fighters on my mind, And so i offered myself, As Leader, To be taken back to pay for my Crimes, In exchange for my Unit to be let go.



Now, Elpizo is left as Leader of the Resistance. It has been five days since then, And i hope, Desperately, that Elpizo follows my own advice, and recovers Zero in my steed. And...Keeps Alouette safe. I can see her face now, And...It shatters me.



I am presuming that some Interrogation will take place as to the locations of the Resistance Base, Our Plans, Research, and more. I will do my best not to say a word. And then, Perhaps, Execution for my treason.

Journal Entry #2



It has been a month since my last journal entry. Despite my expectations, I have not been executed for my crimes against Neo Arcadia. However, My predictions for Interrogation were correct. And the time spent was...Not Pleasant. I type this log now with a broken arm due to the torture inflicted onto me. However, My healing is steadily coming along.



Copy X spoke to me personally, And Detailed his plans for Neo Arcadia's Domination of the Resistance, and the further subjugation and destruction of Reploid kind. It was as bad as we had feared. However, He ordered me to be safely contained in a personal prison cell. I am located closer to the Top of Neo Arcadia than I could of expected, Though, I suppose this is his way of making sure im kept on watch constantly.



My Cell is certainly nicer than most Neo Arcadian Prisons. The bed is soft, Food is practically on demand, I even have access to a communicator to speak to nearby guards-- Though despite my best efforts, It is signal locked to only speak to said guards, And cant go farther than that. There is only one problem with this cell, Besides the locked doors. No windows. This is Solitary Confinement.



What I wouldn't give to speak to Alouette one more time. To tell Elpizo the future plans Neo Arcadia will enact. To tell all of neo arcadia what is happening...

The Light of my Cell has gone out, and has plunged me into total darkness. The only light i have now is the light of my laptop screen looking back at me. Ive communicated this to the guards, However, Even the Communicator has gone out. What happened? It seems to be entirely electrical related.



Ive tried sleeping as best i can, But i seem to only be able to gain comfort by tucking my head under the covers, Like a child hiding away from Monsters. But every so often, There's a Thump. Some Noise's...Some kind of Screams? I dont know if the screams are from my own past, or from the current time. Im not even sure if im alive, until i tap on this screen and cause the light to come back.



Its so dark.

im fine. the lights are back on. someone finally noticed my scratching at the door. i go into the infirmary next morning to repair my fingernails. ive been placed in a normal cell. i never thought id miss the hard metal bed. or the light.

It seems the Black Out from Last Week was due to a Resistance Attack on a Nearby Power Generation factory, Lead by Elpizo. No sign that Zero had been awoken, Despite my best wishes. Elpizo always had a strong desire to play the Hero, So...I should of expected this. Despite being Prisoner, Copy X Seems to of granted me the mildest bit of Courtesy, and given me an...Upgrade, of sorts. Now, My Cell has Windows, And a Research Table.



As much as this makes me miserable, Last week was evident that my mind has a tendency to do...Awful things when i have nothing to fill it with. And so, Ive begun hypothesizing and theorizing on three separate research studies. Copy X has even been so kind as to supply me with any materials and documents i'll need for my projects, Granted that he has access to view them before he grants them.



The Rebirth of Crystallized Knowledge System and RiCO system did not pass at all. However, He saw no issue with my third project, 'Samsara'. It was really nothing as grand, or of my wheelhouse as the R.O.C.K or RiCO would of been. But this will be a project to work on while i await the collapse of the world.



Project Samsara is an attempt to create a Full Induction Virtual Reality, that can envelop a single person into a fully functioning personal reality. By maintaining a balance of Mental Harmonics, They should induct into a Deep Slumber, However, In there mind, they believe they are living out there lives, to the most grand and fullest extent possible.



If I cant see the real world be so kind...Perhaps I can at least make the illusion of it real.

Journal Entry #9

Samsara has been put on hold for now. I managed to get it operational to a point where the cell immediately next to mine had to be emptied and converted into a Holographic chamber. Im surprised Copy X Allowed me to do so. Not complaining, of course. Regardless-- A Unique opportunity has suddenly been opened up for me. 

The Eight Gentle Judges have offered me a seat on there council. Or-- To be more accurate, X Forced them to offer me a seat. It amazed me that such an offer would be made, And my overwhelming response was a flat no. To decide the fate of reploid lives, whether they would die or not felt wrong to me. Immeasurably, terribly wrong. However...I quietly recognized the opportunity this presented. To be a Judge would mean i'd have a foot in the door in Neo Arcadia's Leadership. Not a big one...But one none the less.

And then, the immediate question came to mind...How on earth did i-- A Prisoner, And leader who stands against everything this army fights for, get offered to become one of there Judges? My suspicions were certainly there, As i immediately asked this question of X. One, He still values my intelligence and fairness, So he felt no one would be better for the job...And two, He simply told me 'It will be a way for me to see the sins of Mavericks first hand.' ...I suppose it makes sense. Let me see the sins first hand so that i can understand how X feels. How Poetic.

Regardless, This was an Opportunity none the less to perhaps change things for the better...If nothing else,  I can save a few innocent reploids from a horrible death.

Journal Entry #10


I don't know how this never occurred to me before, but, I knew this wouldn't be so easy. The Judges have made a solemn agreement with one another concerning me. That, In order to join them, I have to be like them. I need to be a Reploid.

I initially felt the opportunity of taking some lead in Neo Arcadia that I didn't even want slip out of my fingers, However, It was then that X Made a Decision for me. He wanted me to figure out how to make myself into a Reploid.

Human to Reploid Conversion. So that I could become a Gentle Judge.

I don't think i ever felt my heart sink as much as it did when X commanded me to begin research on how to make such a thing possible. Even more sickeningly, My mind could actually see how to make such a thing work.

Reploids and Humans do share various common features. Blood. Organs. Skin. The Five Senses, And, Of course, Free will and Emotion. Really-- all that the Conversion would do is replace my Muscle and Organs with Artificial and Mechanical ones, And to stream my Thought through a Data Consciousness...Disregarding the complete and total Horrendous assault and maiming of my body that would need to occur for that. And the simple fact that such a process would require my assured Death. And if i awoke...Could i even be Ciel anymore?

...I refuse.

X Refused my Refusal.

As in-- I can either begin the research and experimentation to allow for Human to Reploid Conversion, Or, I go back to my Cell...And he removes my Window, and my Research station-- As, Apparantly, Me Refusing is a sign of being 'Uncooperative'. I once again ponder where i went so horribly wrong as to create such a  monster. But...Remembering the absolute pain of the Darkness, of the Cell, and constantly pressuring myself with the idea that, 'If i just get on that council, i can surely make SOME change'...I agree.


Within one year, I must figure out how to convert my body into that of a Reploids. Or-- to at least implant my Consciousness into a Reploid Body. If nothing else, X is Fair when he gets his way. He's given me a whole team of Neo Arcadia's top researchers, of both Reploid and Human variety. I questioned how these reploids survived so long without being deemed maverick as soon as they failed any experiment, but, i wont refuse a gift.

I've been fully moved out of my cell, Given an entire lab...That's Locked at all times as so i cant actually leave-- So, I suppose it's more that my Cell became much bigger.

Everything's on the backburner now. Samsara, R.O.C.K, RiCO, All of it.

The immediate questions, Is how to go about this. Do we begin surgical replacement? One piece at a time until eventually my whole body is mechanical in nature? Or do we Make a Reploid, and begin transmitting the most necessary parts that make me, Me into it.

I dont want this.

I begun scanning my entire body. Im looking over my entire human structure, Every organ and muscle and bone of my body to make me function. Beginning to mark off what i can and cant live without. Modeling the Mechanical replacements for each of it.

I don't think anything I've worked on has ever made me as terrified as this. I don't want to do it.

But X Has informed me, That if im not willing to lead this team, then someone else will. And while the idea of butchering myself is horrifying...

The idea of someone else doing it frightens me more so.

Journal Entry #12


We decided to combine a mixture of the two ways to go about this into one. We will slowly replace sections of my body as opposed to piece by piece, as to expedite the process, and see how well I fare with a mechanical structure as opposed to dropping me into it. We decided to begin with my Leg's, Right and Left-- As the weight of the mechanical parts on any of my other parts would be far too heavy for my body to maintain.

I modeled the Replacement Legs, Down to the Synthetic Skin matching every aspect of my own-- Down to the Freckle and Dimple. I took a small bit of personal humor in that i'll have what every girl dreamed of. Legs you don't have to shave. I heard one of the female researchers chuckle, But no one else seemed to get it. It was humor that helped me tune out the fact that, in a few moments, I would be put under anesthetic and, when I awoke, I will have lost my legs.

I ponder;Many people fear the fact that there death can come out of nowhere, with no certainty as to when, how, and why there death occurs.

And i am given the unique opportunity to design how my death will occur. What parts of me shall be removed. How long it will take...And yet, It makes my heart ache all the worse for it.

How lucky some people must be to die by accident.

Journal Entry #13

I awoke with the ability to walk, Surprisingly enough. My muscle memory helped my new Mechanical legs get right to work, Which, I appreciated greatly. The biggest issue, however, is the Weight of them. They're legs made of metal, After all, They weigh like 300 pound weights on my entire leg are holding me down. I can only mildly shuffle from area to area. I've taken a Cane with me in order to  properly walk better.

Fairy Leviathan visited me after surgery, To 'Talk'. Which, Was ultimately an array of 'What's my favorite food', 'Who do i think is cute', 'Favorite type of makeup' questions. While part of me was, of course, suspect of her...I appreciated the help she gave me greatly. My mental fortitude restored by a genuinely kind conversation. Which, As soon as she left, seemed to grow weaker as i remember what my duty is.

Next...My Torso. And the Important Organs there in.

Unfortunately, the biggest problem of this conversion that i keep running into, is the Issue of my heart. For most, The Heart was simply an Organ to be replaced with a powerful one that could properly pump blood at a rate necessary for such a stronger body.

However, I've listed the Heart as an Organ that must be kept as is, Along with my Brain. My heart is ultimately too weak to properly circulate the functions across my new mechanical body. So, I decided to work on a bit of a supplemental.

A Mutagen injected into my heart to strengthen it and cause it to pulse at a rate required for a reploid body.

...But then this poses another problem. If i have a Reploid's Chest and Reploid's legs, And my heart is circulating at a point of extremely enhanced power-- Then my head and Arms will suffer from the immense overflow of blood. This could cause a number of problems, such as increased clotting chance, and bursting of vessels. The only chance i have for this to work is to pull the proverbial trigger, and begin Full Conversion.

Arms. Head. Chest. Digestive System. Skin. Hair...All to be replaced by Mechanical and synthetic ones.

I hate this.

While i had the opportunity-- I made sure that these upgrades were truly upgrades. I removed my Lungs as a necessary organ. No need to worry about underwater environments or Lack of Oxygen.

I made my Skin more Durable--able to bounce back energy fire and buster attacks.

Then-- I upgraded my Proportions a little. Just a little bit. I felt that after all of this, I deserved to be a little vain. I was always malnourished and thin...Might be nice to feel Healthy for once, at least. If not a little 'Sized', In certain spots. I always wondered what it would be like to be a bit bigger.

Not like i would have the ability for my body to grow naturally anymore anyway. 

I felt i deserved to grow at least one final time. Ensured I grew no hair on anywhere besides the top of my head. I even installed a few pigment changing supplements to my synthetic skin so that i could color my nails and do my makeup at a moments notice.

I pondered making myself taller, but, Decided against it. After all, The legs were already done, And...I felt against turning myself into too much of a different person. My eyes were upgraded to detect life signs and visual soundwaves, as well as Infrared and Targeting systems. I upgraded my other senses to have equal levels of inhuman capabilities.

These improvements were Shallow humor and comfort to the truth. I was about to undergo a surgery that will kill me. My entire body will be removed, section by section, replaced with mechanical part after mechanical part, all except for my Mind, And my Heart. And only a Spontaneous resurrections of those two parts will assure i come back to life, as a Reploid.

Im scared. Im truly, Truly scared....I wish Alouette were here. I want to hold her hand. I want to tell her i love her.


I dont want to be someone else when i wake up.

I dont want to die.

The Experiment was a Success.

I awoke as a Reploid. Though the Initial awakening was a Horrifying experience, Feeling every new part of my body move and clammer together, Every organ i have in deep feeling, I will not speak of it in these logs.

It is Two months after the surgery, And I have undergone many experiments in order to ensure i am still Ciel, And not just my brain running on autopilot.

To ensure i have a 'Soul', As it were, I drew pictures of Alouette, Elpizo, Milan, and the resistance base.

I asked Leviathan to come back and Quiz me on our 'Talk' Earlier. I got 8 of the 10 questions right, Which-- Gave me a great sense of relief, that my mind can still make mistakes.

I locked myself in a Dark Cell once more, And felt fear running through my body.

I cried when i looked at the list of Resistance casualties, and saw Milan's name come up.

As well, This Human to Reploid conversion process has helped me greatly understand how my R.O.C.K System can truly work as well.

Ive begun drafting up the ideals for the 'Biometal's That this system will be based on.

In Three hours, i will be attending my first Gentle Judge Hearing, as the Ninth Judge.

I will now begin Judging as a True Gentle Judge.

Journal Entry # 15


Judging has been a considerable task. It seems every day, I have to argue as a single voice of kindness amongst a room of eight individuals who see nothing but rules and laws. Of the current 3563 Criminals we have judged, I have voted a Not Guilty verdict on 3023 of them, And of them, Only 1788 Have been cleared of there wrongdoings. That is 1235 Innocent people i have let die due to my failed arguments.

Some of the Accused Guilty were Children Reploids who merely defended themselves physically against the cruel enforcement of law in Neo Arcadia. Some were those who simpky ran from there certain death in X's Camps. Every time, I've made a note to honor there memory in prayer...

Does a god even truly exist if he could be so cruel as to let this happen? I wonder.

Among my fellow Judges, Ive found myself butting heads mostly with Biblio and Flizard the most. Biblio suffers from a bizarre effect where, under circumstances, his opinion on innocence and guilty can change at a drop of the hat...It's frustrating to argue with someone who's mind changes if a spark accidentally goes a wrong way, and has turned about 567 Verdicts in the wrong direction.

Flizard has no sense to let anything slide. He too firmly stands with rules, without allowing a chance to let any acceptions through. Mantisk, I can only despise, as he Enjoys the act of execution too much. 

Inarabitta is too childish to have this job. He constantly fools around too much, and when we need a decision, he just agree's with whatever is the common vote.

I have found an odd sense of fairness and appreciation for the Chief Justice, Kelverian. Why am i surprised that the man with three brains is the one most reasonable to speak with, Though i still find it hard to get the three heads to see reason? Cactank is a wonderful man. Ive appreciated speaking to him in our brief moments, and is usually a Kinder vote than most-- Though he still occasionally follows rules so restrictively.

Schlit is kind enough-- however, his higher stance on order, and obnoxious fighting with Flizard and Inarabitta make it so damn difficult to get a solid agreement. And then...There's Cubit Foxtar. He (?) Is oddly friendly toward me, And often likes to come after work to speak with me. I originally mistook them for a Girl, Which, Seems to of made them oddly...happy? As if they enjoy speaking with me. Even though we rarely agree in our Court Hearings...

I feel somewhat better though. Lately-- while of the 100 cases we review every week, I am typically  of the 1 to 100 cases going my way-- lately, the average has changed to 82 out of 100. Could it be, im swaying the Judges to my side of things?

I'd love that to be the case.
