"Unfortunately for you; Nyx is an ephemeral being, susceptible to the passage of fate and eternal laws of causality, whereas I am an extension of the will of the chaotic realm, bound to a master that I serve faithfully. So long as my master survives, I shall return from the dead." Death stated as he closed the door, he didn't want to roam in the rain without proper clearance, that and he would need more Intel on this Nyx entity.

Death simply decided to snap his boney fingers, opening some viewscreens. One of them would allow death a view of the dining hall so he can observe the group, his eyeless sockets looking at the strange girl, another viewscreen would follow the one who decided to decline Death's invite to get into the light and warmth, and three more would appear before him which allowed him to see these things and allow for communication between him and those he chooses to communicate with.

Ghor sat rather politely at the dinner table, hands balled on the tabletop. It would have been a rather whimsical scene, all of the house guests having their dinner and just idly chatting about their day, hardly the kind of thing that Ghor expected when going on these death defying missions. Would have been, if he was not expecting something else to go wrong. He kept his optics on Mieko, which led to his discovery that he was not the only one suspicious of her. Akechi and her had been exchanging looks the entire time, making him wonder if they had some kind of connection before landing here on Li, or if she had disclosed similar threats to him.

Things started to get to a head when the big speeches began, Yukari in particular though seemed to have come down with a bit of madness, pointing fingers around the room. It was enough to spark a rise in Yumiko, causing her to take the other girl head on. While this all happened, Ghor unfolded his legs, subtly hiding his arm behind his back in case he needed to spring out his plasma cannon. This was the kind of thing that would usually turn a room against them, leading to a firefight. Then again, maybe he spent too much time around volatile space pirates and just assumed the worst.

The fight had been broken up though, and it seemed that marked the end for the dinner. It seemed that there was to be a presentation in the living room, to which Ghor nodded at the invitation. If Mieko was going to be there, it seemed that it might be his responsibility to follow.

Ghor raised a hand to Yumiko’s apology. “No apologies necessary. Yukari was looking for a rise out of somebody and she got what she wanted. If it were my place to speak against her, I would have done the same. For now though, let us see this presentation.” He proceeded to walk toward the living room.

A tape was being played, a man on a screen that Ghor had absolutely no reference to. His speech had something to do with the Dark Hour, something he recalled the group talking about before. Considering its name, the supposed shades that the group had been fighting, and all the mentions of Nyx, he had a feeling they were all connected. Though, it seemed the older man had a familial connection to Yukari, as she seemed to be having a bit of a breakdown after hearing this news. All Ghor could do was observe considering that there was very little for him to add.

As the dinner was starting to conclude they were to begin a small announcement. Soon things took a turn for the worse as Yukari started pointing fingers at their arrival. Before things could get out of hand though Sakuya stopped it from getting any worse and calmed the others down. At this point Dinah was about to speak up to Yukari but Aera stopped her from doing so.

"It is alright, no harm done." Aera said before looking over to Dinah who looked ready to speak her mind but she held it in. "Ungrateful brat." Dinah said under her breath. For now Aera would follow the others into the living room with Dinah in tow. 

"Does anyone recognize this one?" Aera asked as they started to play the tape. "Doesn't look familiar to me." Dinah said in response. What was the Dark Hour? Soon more and more came to light and it made them both just wait for an answer.

"By the time you read this, I will be dead." The man on the screen said, as the video played once more. It was clearer this time so everyone in the room was able to hear it this time. It felt as though the video was having audio issues the first time.

"N-no, stop!" Yukari shouted, not wanting to hear this again, but Eiichiro continued.

"My name is Takeba Eiichiro. I was part of an experiment done by the Nanjo Group as well as the Kirijo group to investigate a realm and quite possibly discover a new view of Death. Unfortunately it's gone wrong. We may have discovered something terrifying, and may have discovered the tower itself, Tartarus." Eiichiro revealed, just thinking about that goddamn tower made him even more fearful.

Yumiko and Akechi recognised the name, having read about Tartarus a few times during one point in their lives. Yumiko, as to find a way to defeat Loki back in her world, found a book one time on various towers that were connected to demons, with Tartarus, often portrayed as a demon prison, being one of them. It seems as though Eiichiro, as well as the organization SEES has come from, had discovered the tower itself when investigating this "world" they're talking about.

"Everything went wrong, and it's our fault. If, whatever gets out into this world. It could not only be the end of both the Nanjo and Kirijo group, but the world itself. She will bring an eternal night to us all. A night that will bring death to every human known to man.

What will happen next will clear our mistake and stop her from seeping out into our world. Unfortunately, it will mean my death too. Before I end this video, the truth about the Kirijo and Nanjo group must not get out. It will ruin us." There was a brief audio disruption during the tape, as if Eiichiro had something to say, but it was skipped.

"NO!" Yukari got up from the couch and suddenly shouted, tearing up.

The group watched in silence as the tape ended with an explosion which suddenly cut the tape off. It was likely that the very explosion was the one that killed Eiichiro.

Once the tape ended, the group remained quiet, but Mitsuru soon turned over towards her father. "Don't play it again, I think we got the message." Mitsuru instructed her father and Shuji, who both seemed to agree, as Takeharu seemed worried about Yukari's state.

"So, you knew and hid this from me?" Yukari clenched her fists together, with Mitsuru looking back down at Yukari.

"You hid this from all of us!" Yukari shouted at Mitsuru.

"Takeba, this is why we wanted to show you the tape, we thought it was time you knew the truth. Everyone here deserves to know the truth now that you joined SEES." Mitsuru looked over to the newer members of the group, such as Sakuya, Junpei, Ken, Fuuka and Tomoko, all of whom looked sort of uneasy by this revelation that the Kirijo group were responsible for the Dark Hour.

Aegis and Koromaru remained quiet despite also being in SEES. The latter because he was a dog and the former because she was on the Kirijo and Nanjo group's side, Koromaru however, let out a sad whimper with all the fighting that was going on.

"Look, Takeba-san, given the circumstances, it's alright that you lash out." Akihiko said, sitting near Mitsuru, but he didn't know what else to say.

"I mean yeah. Given what happened, it's understandable." Sango said, also coming to Mitsuru's defense.

"You all have a right to lash out and be angry, but please know that what happened wasn't entirely Mitsuru's fault and please, Kirijo-chan had no intention of hiding this from all of you. We were planning to let you all know as you join SEES and we never intended to hide this from you all." Sango said

"We were angry too when we found out the truth." She added, which made Yukari realize something, regarding Sango, her friend, and Akihiko and Shinjiro.

The four of them had been in SEES longer than anyone else, which means that Sango, Akihiko and Shinjiro likely saw the tape before. If they were all coming to Mitsuru's side now, they were likely as angry as her.

"Hah, I see. She lured you onto her side way before we all joined, didn't she!?" Yukari said, pointing to the three.

"You three knew the truth longer than us and are alright with it. My father's dead, because he's dead. My mom basically forgot about me, because of your father Mitsuru, we have to fight these shadows and those arcana monsters. What the hell did she do to convince you all to join her side!? You should be angry at them, the dark hour must have affected you all at one point or another!" Yukari raised her voice high, Yumiko and Akechi looked displeased with what was going on.

And, they were unsure as to which side they should take.

Mitsuru looked guilty, knowing in some way or another, Yukari was right, and Akihiko, Shinjiro and Sango knew this too.

"Look, it pissed us off Yuka, but Mitsuru's a good person. She saved our asses a few times. Hell, even if I don't want to admit it. I could have died when that shadow attacked the dorms a few months ago if she didn't step in and help me down at the front of the dormitory." Akihiko said, coming to Mitsuru's defence, Yukari however shot back.

"Let's face it Sanada-san, you only love to fight in the dark hour, you keep throwing yourself out there fighting shadows no matter how exhausted you are. You almost broke your ribs in that fight and lured that shadow towards the dormitory, which eventually reached me and Sakuya and almost got us killed. If Sakuya didn't awaken his persona that night, then we would have died! I don't want to admit it but your love of fighting almost killed us and yourself. You and Shinjiro don't have much family or anything to lose, you were brought up in orphanages!"

"That's not true!" Akihiko yelled back.

"Don't you ever bring up me and Shinji's past like that ever again, you don't know the kind of shit that we had to deal with, it wasn't just us too, Miki was with us. You don't think I wished I could go back and save her that night!? You don't know how hard I'm trying to ignore what happened that night at the Dorms. My heart almost stopped when I heard you and Sakuya almost died or when you. Iori and Sakuya were stuck in that train that almost crashed in the station. You can go and call me some fighting junkie or some other crap, but don't you ever bring up the fact that me and Shinji don't have parents, at least you had a relationship with yours. Hell, I don’t know the last time I talked to my foster mother, other than when she gave me money at the start of the year!" Akihiko glared in anger at Yukari, while Shinjiro, Tomoko and Sango looked on, impressed, Yukari scoffed, thinking that the two had been caught up in Mitsuru's manipulations.

"Akihiko's right---Of course you'll agree with him. You knew just as long as they did, didn't you!" Yukari pointed to Sango, who held her tongue.

"Yes." She admitted.

"I was angry just like you, and it took me time to come around to Mitsuru's side, because she's trying to undo the mistake that the Kirijo and Nanjo group have created. Think about it, Yukari, this problem will be solved once the Arcanas are defeated. The Dark Hour will be gone and we don't have to worry about any disasters they would cause in Tatsumi or something worse. What if that thing your father mentions comes back and tries to do what it failed to do all those years ago, especially since that group mentioned that we're in a new world now." Sango pointed over towards Yumiko and everyone else in the group.

"What if it comes here?" Sango pointed out, which was something Yumiko and Akechi didn't think about at all, seeing as how they only knew about this mysterious threat just now through the video, the two looked at each other.

"What if she's right? What if whatever they're talking about comes to Li?" Yumiko not only asked Akechi, but to everyone else in the group quietly, even Death.

"We're not only dealing with a famine, but with the Absolutists and all the other stuff, this is the last thing we need, some sort of demonic entity crossing over here and basically causing the end of the world." Yumiko said.

"Who exactly is this entity?" Akechi wondered, he and Yumiko looked back out of the hall.

And towards the painting of Nyx, seeing as how Kouetsu talked eagerly about her, and the fact that she was the goddess of the night, and was related to darkness, which was related to death.

Nyx herself was also the mother of the gods related to darkness and death themselves. The thunder outside rupturing didn't help matters and in fact, spooked the two teenagers.

"How do you know they're telling the truth?" Yukari continued the argument, before she scoffed again and continued.

"Then again was anything you said true? Or did you just want to prevent me from knowing the truth sooner?" Yukari looked down. She felt betrayed, out of everyone in the group, she felt hurt the most. She thought Sango and Mitsuru were her friends, she even thought Akihiko was alright, for them to reveal this to the group and hide it from her had hurt her greatly.

"Look Yukari, I was in a similar situation as you, I didn't have a very positive relationship with, my father---Did Mitsuru or the Kirijo's murder him or did someone else do so!?" The room filled with silence over the revelation that Sango's father was murdered, surprising the SEES group.

"Your father, I think I remembered hearing about a man who was murdered somewhere where you used to live Owari. Was that man your father?" Junpei asked, silencing Sango, as she looked at Yukari in bitterness.

And then, Yukari looked over towards Yumiko, Akechi, Death, Ghor, Aera and Dinah, they were next to be targeted and Yumiko and Akechi knew this too and prepared themselves for Yukari's worst.

"I also want to know just what the hell your intentions are. I can't believe we're allowing a soulless robot, two demon rejects and Death itself to wander around here. They could kill anyone or everyone in this room if they decided they had enough of us!" Yukari pointed over towards Yumiko and Akechi.

"Yukari, calm down!" Yumiko tried to calm Yukari as she got closer to her.

"We're just as confused as you. We don't even know what the hell's going---Suddenly in a fit of rage, Yukari ran forward and slapped Yumiko.

"Don't you play dumb!" Yukari shouted, as Akechi soon approached Yumiko, who rubbed her cheek in surprise.

"Shirasagi-chan!" Akechi said as he ran over.

"How about you calm down instead of striking someone who's only trying to help!" Akechi yelled venomously at Yukari. A bit of his true self showing in the process.

Everyone else also has a chance to defend themselves from Yukari too.

The tape was rewound and played again, leaving Ghor pensive and attentive. He felt like he was in the second act of a novel, left to put the pieces of the narrative together. The Dark Age, the Goddess Nyx, and the tower known as Tartarus. All of this was beyond his field of expertise, dealing with deities sounded like it was more so in Samus’ camp. Regardless, it was important to keep all these factors in mind if he wanted to make sure everyone came out of this place alive. Though, perhaps it wasn’t the deities they would have to worry about.

Once more, it seemed like the room was divided. He couldn’t help but to compare it to the old space pirate standoffs he somehow found himself in the middle of. One bad deal, one bad move was all it took for a firefight to unleash, and it seemed like Yukari was the fuse for the powder keg. The truth about her father made her unhinged, prepared to take everyone else down with her. Ghor had seen such things in his time, sometimes the loss of one person led to the loss of two. It was never a pretty sight.

But Yumiko was right. The last thing anyone needed was another lethal force to land on Li. There was something to be said about perhaps directing it at the Starvia and letting them both cancel each other out, but Ghor wouldn’t risk such casualties.

Regardless of everyone’s attempts at reining Yukari in, she was still going on the offensive, vocally and physically. Ghor was not prepared for what came next though. The young woman bolted across the room, striking Yumiko. Of course, it was minimal damage, but it wasn’t meant to hurt, it was meant to send a message. “Yumiko!” he called out in distress. He leapt forward, making himself a wall between the two women.

While he was slim, Ghor still was a towering figure, one made of metal for that matter. He figured that the woman would think twice before trying the same tactic on him. His optics bared down on Yukari. “That will be enough of that” he spoke with gentle authority. “Irrationality of action will only lead to more grief and regret. Countless times I have seen death and the divides it creates within people. You will avenge no one by lashing out at strangers.”

Ghor looked out to the rest of the room. “Soulless robot I am not. Like the rest of you, a heart beats within my chest” he stated as he placed a hand at his chest. “So long as it beats, you have the same oath that I gave to the people of Wotan VII whom saved my life” he looked down on Yukari once more. “No matter your demeanour, you will be under my protection” he added stoically, bowing his head to the woman.

Death would not allow himself to be hit because he was still in the entrance hall and thus not available for Yukari to slap, due to his boney appearance not liking the fact that a physical attack would be necessary.

"This girl might need to have a wake-up call..." Death thought to himself, remembering why he shouldn't get involved with human Matters unless the situation became dire.

As Yukari constantly shouted to the others with accusations and violence. Being called a Demon Reject was one thing Dinah could handle but grouping Aera in with her as one was going too far. Dinah witnessed this whole thing with anger in her eyes which Aera quickly noticed but was unable to stop what Dinah was about to do. 

Dinah walked up to Yukari who was lashing out at everyone, hurting Yumiko in the process and being a ungrateful brat that it just made Dinah snap. And with a very audible slap across Yukari's face, this one was meant to hurt that it could be heard across the room. 

"Listen to yourself whining and complaining like some sorry little victim, you're nothing but a coward! Get over yourself and look at the big picture here, we're not your enemies. If we were that wouldn't just sting your cheek missy, you'd be on the ground." Dinah bluntly said with rage. Suddenly without warning Dinah did something else that would surprise all the new people who haven't seen it. Dinah was starting to glow a brilliant light. "Oh no not now!" Dinah cried out before her form completely shifted into that of an Angel once more. Those who have seen her in this form would recognize that this was Dinah's Angel half. 

"I'm sorry! I really shouldn't have hit you. Here let me heal you real quick." Conjuring some water Angel Dinah pressed it against Yukari's cheek as it was healed right up. "But what you said wasn't right either you know. Please think about your actions before doing them, Dinah needs to learn to do that too." She said before flying over to Aera who was just watching this whole thing go down in front of her. 

"I am not a demon. Why would you think I am one Yukari? I'm perfectly human." Well sort of. She had the a piece of Goura inside her because she's an Edge Fencer but that didn't need to be said. "I think what Dinah was trying to say is that you should calm down and listen to us. What reason would we have to become your enemy? If we were to do that we wouldn't be very good at our jobs now would we?" Aera said with a light-hearted smile.

"I understand your feelings all too well Yukari, my mother and father are both long since passed. I barely even knew my father before he died and my mother died after having me. If you need someone to lean on who understands what you are going through then I can be that someone to help you." Aera said in a very calming tone of voice.

Everyone in the room went quiet once Dinah and Ghor called out Yukari for what she was saying, Mitsuru feeling bad for what had happened. While Yumiko stood beside Dinah’s demon form and Ghor, she wasn’t angry at Yukari for what she did.

Well she sort of did, after all, she did slap her, but she wasn’t going to yell back at her for it, she watched as Aera’s angel form healed the slap Dinah gave to Yukari before speaking.

“Takeba-san, listen.” Yumiko said.

“I know you’re angry hearing about that from your father. You're angry and lashing out at everyone behind you, but it’ll get better.” Yumiko said. Akechi was more angry about what had happened, but like Yumiko, he tried his best in making sure it didn’t get to him.

“Let’s just say, I’ve been in a similar situation like this before. I should warn you.” Akechi said he and Yumiko watched as Aera healed the slap Dinah had given to Yukari in return.

“Don’t let your anger consume you. It doesn’t tend to go well and leads you to do stupid things.” Akechi said Yukari however didn’t say anything once the group had finished yelling at her, but it was clear on her face that she was bitter and angry over the video she watched of her father.

Once Dinah had finished healing her face. She glared at Aera. “I at least still have a mother, don’t compare yourself to me.” She said, telling off Aera before storming out of the room, looking like she was about to break down into tears.

“Takeba-san.” Yumiko called out to Yukari, but she ignored her as she was leaving, Sakuya soon stood up and approached the group.

“I’ll go talk to her. She shouldn’t have gone that far, considering the storm.” Sakuya said before running out of the room too in order to see Yukari, leaving everyone else, besides Death who also wasn’t in the room.

“Me too.” Sango said before running out of the room too. Mieko however began to follow her, which Yumiko and Akechi noticed.

“Where are you going. Why are you following Owari-san?” Yumiko asked Mieko, who turned back towards her, smiling.

“I have some questions that I would like to ask her about tonight’s events. And I can’t waste anymore time in doing so!” Mieko said before running out of the room, with Yumiko soon following her, suspicious as to what she’s doing.

“I’ll be back soon guys.” Yumiko said to her group before leaving.

“Shirasagi-chan wait, about what you did earlier when you went to see that man.” Akechi called to Yumiko, but her and Mieko had already left the room.

The remaining members of the room looked surprised at Dinah and Aera’s forms, although with everything that was happening, questioning their forms right now was the last thing people wanted to do.

After a minute of silence, Mitsuru slowly stood up. “I think it’s time we should depart for bed, we’ve had a rough night and I think it would clear our heads if we get some sleep.” Mitsuru suggested, with most of the people in the room nodding in agreement.

“Mitsuru, may I talk to you and your mother for a moment?” Takeharu asked, before he looked over towards Ghor, Aera, Dinah and Akechi… As well as Death on the TV screen that he made.

“You five can sleep in the guest building that’s near this Manor. There should be a path leading down towards it at the Manor’s entrance, or you can follow everyone else, since they’re heading there for the night.” Takeharu said, watching as everyone in the room was beginning to leave for the Guest Building, giving the group the opportunity to do a few things before bed.

Such as to check out the hallway, where Mieko could be found, gazing at the portrait of Nyx from earlier.

And near Mieko, which she didn’t seem to notice yet, was a mysterious letter, it seems to have been dropped from someone, presumably the person that had written the letter.

Just when Ghor thought he was getting command of the situation, his demonic ally stepped in and returned Yukari a raging backhand in kind. The sudden slap was just as unexpected as the first, Ghor being somewhat shocked by the transgression. Of course, he’s seen worse in his time, but a volatile situation wasn’t going to be made better by more violence. “Damnit, Dinah” he rasped under his breath as his optics fell upon the girl. Regardless of how many full-grown adults were in the room, he felt like he was babysitting a bunch of rambunctious teenagers, a fate worse than most assignments he’s been on.

Ghor was prepared to yank Dinah away from Yukari, but before he could get his mechanical claw on the demoness, she glowed with an angelic light, blinding Ghor well enough for him to shield his optics. The end result of her display was a more pleasant looking Dinah stepping forward. Ghor supposed he wasn’t the only one with a darker half, who knows what he would have done if the situation was reversed. The angelic Dinah attempted to make amends for her darker half by healing the redden slap mark off of Yukari’s face.

It was perhaps too little too late for that though, since Yukari was quick to scatter afterwards. She was followed by a few others, Mieko being one of them. It caused Ghor to raise a suspicious eye, naturally, she couldn’t be left to fulfill her agenda without supervision.

At Takeharu’s offer, Ghor turned his head and bowed it politely. “Your hospitality is appreciated. I still have matters to attend to, but your rest will be assured, I will keep vigilant for these shadows and dark creatures that were being spoken of during dinner” he stated briefly. With that, he walked in the direction that Mieko and the rest were headed. He briefly wondered where that girl was skulking now, but he didn’t have to wonder for very long.

As soon as Ghor entered the hall, Mieko was standing before the painting of Nyx, gaze locked. He found it quite odd, didn’t she say she was going to speak with Yukari? Perhaps their conversation was brief, either that or she lost sight of her. Ghor approached from behind Mieko, gazing at the portrait beside her. He placed his hand behind his back and stood tall, really taking in the work of art. “So this is Nyx, mother of the night? Hm, Death speaks ill of her, would you consider that admirable trait? Or is it common for avatars of death to be jealous of one another?” he drily joked.

As Ghor looked over to Mieko, he noticed a slip of paper on the floor. Like a hardboiled point and click adventure protagonist, he picked up the letter and inspected it closely. “Did you see who dropped this?” he asked the girl, still in the process of reading its contents.

"Hrmph... Perhaps I should explore a bit, might find something more useful to aid the people here." Death thought to himself as through one of his view screen portals he would use his sight(or lack thereof) to search for anything that could be useful for the group.

Death said as he spots a glint of something interesting that he or the group can use to further expedite the conversation and settle for getting out of this place with due haste since it isn't wholly necessary to keep conversing all the time.1d20+4

Aera didn't know what Dinah had to lash out like that but she was glad her angel side decided to try to fix that situation that her demon side had caused. It seemed to be too late though as the girl ran off in a fit of anger only for Aera to take notice of the other things going on. Ghor had found a letter on the floor, who was it addressed to? Best ask the others about it. For now they were offered a place to rest for the night, thank goodness since Aera was feeling pretty tired. She didn't know about Dinah if she needed sleep but hopefully everything would be alright now. 

"Thank you I'm glad you are being so supportive to us despite the circumstances." Aera said looking at Dinah who was still in angel form. Right now she was giving off a very innocent looking stare back at Aera as if to say she didn't want to do that but let's be real, Dinah did want to do that and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Death, through his eagle eye investigation had managed to find two conversations that were going on around the Manor, away from the group.

The first was of Yumiko in what happened to be a guest Bedroom that she was going to stay in for the night. She was talking to someone on a phone in the room, and looked somewhat hesitant.

“How did you know about that? Are you, someone from my world!?” She asked the person on the other line. She gasped when she got an answer and looked somewhat fearful as a result. She looked over towards the door leading out into the Hallway, unaware of Death watching her.

“Fine, I won’t leave.” She said in anger. She remained quiet, before finally hanging up. It looked as though there was no more information to find regarding Yumiko, and who exactly she was talking to.

The second conversation was at the back of the Manor, between Akihiko, Shinjiro, Ken, Mitsuru, Sango, Tomoko and Junpei, and it seemed to be about the new arrivals.

“So, what do you think about those guys?” Akihiko began the conversation by addressing the group, noting that the argument was over.

“I think out of them, Dinah and Death are the most suspicious ones, at least according to Yamagishi-chan. Akechi-san and Shirasagi-san appear to somewhat have abilities similar to me and you guys respectfully.” Sango said she still felt hurt by what Yukari had said to her and so was trying her best not to bring it up to the group.

As Junpei was about to say something, Shinjiro interrupted him.

“They haven’t killed us yet so that’s one thing to not be worried about. Still, it’s not clear yet about what they might do, for all we know, they could plan to attack us in our sleep.” Shinjiro said.

“We might not know that Aragaki-kun. Besides that, if they try to do something suspicious then we can easily take them down, despite our situation with this Island. We still have enough security to take down any suspicious person, such as that group.” Mitsuru said.

“And I don’t think it would be wise for them to attack us either, since there’s around a lot of us on the Island that can take them down.” She said, to which Junpei was about to joke about Shuji.

But as he was about to say that, Tomoko interrupted him.

“Even Ikutsuki-san?” Tomoko said, to which Akihiko and Ken laughed.

“Unfortunately no. He’s never the type to fight.” Mitsuru said, she turned forward, noticing how hard the rain was starting to get.

They should all turn in bed soon.

Ken however remained quiet, as he still thought about the conversation he had with Akechi earlier that night.

“I think there’s something up with one of them.” Ken revealed he would soon leave with the rest of the group to the Guest Building where the others had gone.

Back near the Nyx portrait, the letter that Ghor, Aera, Dinah and Mieko had found read as follows:

Hello Those that reside with Kirijo, have you been enjoying your night so far? I know I have.

It is I, Nyx, Mother Night. I have since been sealed away by one of the inhabitants of the Island, but I am planning to make it all for naught, once I perform a ritual that will unseal me on Li.

Yes, I know about Planet Li, and I wish to bring in an endless night to it, like I have failed to do twice back on Planet Earth. How will I be set free? By requiring the blood of fourteen people on the island, even if it makes them lifeless.

In order, my army of murders will begin with the death of six people. They will be collected into the night, then, two people, who are close with each other, and finally six people who have lost their body parts, all collected into the night.

And when I rise, those that are still left alive will be collected into the Night anyway, before I continue my reign of terror all throughout Planet Li!

There is a ritual to prevent this from happening and spare the deaths, and it is—

Unfortunately, the rest of the message has been ripped to shreds, but Mieko seemed to be intrigued to say the least.

“Huh, a possible murder on this Island, sound’s creepy son’t you think, I sure hope we don’t be apart of it.” Mieko said. She smirked despite the uncomfortable subject matter, but she proceeded to yawn.

“I think after what happened during dinner, I’m tired. I think I should go to the guest bedroom and get some sleep for the night, don’t you think?” Mieko suggested. Whatever Ghor, Aera and Dinah were going to say next, Mieko didn’t care. She left the Manor soon after to head to the Guest House.

Passing by Sango on the way, who entered the Manor and proceeded to head upstairs and past Ghor, Aera and Dinah, looking somewhat troubled as she did.

(The group can either head to the Guest House and rest for the next day, or, they can continue to explore and see what else they can find.)

After receiving no answer from Mieko about the possible source of the letter, Ghor presumed that she either didn’t know the answer or didn’t care enough to provide one. Though, there was plenty of room for more suspicions. Either way, the letter lacked any sort of concealing envelope, leaving it open for inspection. What was written upon was grim, nearly as grim as the reaper they were traveling with. It foretold the coming of the Mother of the Night, Nyx herself. Upon reading that, he couldn’t help but to glare at the painting before him.

It seemed as though there was some kind of prescribed ritual for her coming, one that called for massive amounts of blood, and likely fatalities among them. It was almost like the Goddess was taunting them by providing this information, to make them feel helpless and paranoid about those that were around them. Ghor was made of sterner stuff though. These taunts were merely helpful warnings for him. Someone was an agent of Nyx’s on this island, he just needed to find out whom it was. Protect the innocents caught within at all costs.

Ghor wasn’t exactly disappointed about the counter-ritual being cut off at the end. Considering that the author was supposedly Nyx herself, he wouldn’t exactly expect her to provide the blueprints of her own defeat, unless she was just that much of a blowhard. No, if anything, the ritual listed would have most likely been a trap, something to aid in her plots, better that it had been removed altogether in case someone tried it out of foolhardy belief that it would work.

It seemed that just when things seemed to be winding down, they were rising back up again. Mieko was unsurprisingly nonchalant about the warning, waving it off and announcing her intentions to go to bed. “I would say more so concerning. A good night’s rest would certainly be a step in the right direction after what you’ve gone through already today. I hope you rest well” he stated politely as she turned away. His glaring optics followed her though, telling a very different story than his tone. Of all the residents on the island, she was certainly his first suspect. She’d already admitted to working under somebody for nefarious purposes, though stated she wasn’t out to kill anyone. Though, with how coy she’s been so far, he definitely wouldn’t just take her word for it, on top of that, he found the letter right beside her. Then again, if there was anyone suspicious about working under Nyx, it was probably their own ally, Death, if not for the fact that he was probably just as in the dark about this operation as the rest of them.

He looked over to Aera and Dinah then, assuming they had read the letter the same as he did, if not, he’d offer it with grave importance. “It would appear sleep is not a luxury we can afford. There’s a killer among us, and they need to be snuffed out immediately” he stated militantly, gripping his fist.

As he finished speaking, Ghor noticed one of the girls from earlier passing by, Sango, he believed. Something seemed not right, and if there was ever a starting point for their search, it was whatever turmoil was plaguing her. It could be unrelated, but Ghor was taking no chances. Calmly, he followed the girl up the steps. “Something the matter? If you are feeling unsafe, I can enlist to you my protection” he stated compassionately, placing a gentle hand to his metal chest.

Death coldly scowled, the people clearly mocking him not knowing that their efforts in any event to subdue him rather pointless since he could just come back from the dead because they have to deal with his master Dracula, otherwise they'll just be running around in circles like headless chickens. "Such impudence... Those brats need to understand things through my eyes, rather than in their own pea-sized brains." Death growled, throwing open a portal to the Chaotic Realm and walking into it, though he did not leave it from the portal he entered, he would exit out onto the roof of the guesthouse, his eyeless sockets glowing with ominous red dots, showing that he was not in the right mood to be pissed off further, if the mortals wanted to meet with him, they would have to find their own way through the Chaotic Realm and survive it's demonic influence without using anything but their own mortal instinct and physical adaptability.

As for the portal itself, it just closes slowly, causing the odd spark before closing in full, leaving the floor just as pristine and immaculate as ever.
