Appearance:
History On Li: Aether was once a young man, living in a war-torn land with his sister, Lumine. Eventually, the two discovered they held tremendous power, and were able to leave their world. They began to travel, at first out of necessity, but later out of enjoyment. They went from world to world, with Lumine deciding to stop for a time, on a world known as Teyvat. Aether told her that he would return, but decided to go exploring nearby worlds with his traveling companion Paimon. Unfortunately, he had a bad encounter with someone over Li. He’s still not sure what she was. Perhaps a god, perhaps a guardian, but the result was the same. Stripped of his elemental powers, Aether and Paimon were thrown down to the planet.
In the time since then, Aether has recovered the power of Anemo, and the power of Geo. However, he’s also learned that supposedly, once you’re on Li, you can’t leave. Being the determined man he is, Aether refused to accept this at face value. He made a promise to Lumine that they would be reunited, and he refuses to back down on that promise. Now, he wanders the wastelands of Li, trying to find any leads on how he might find a way off of the planet, and at least back to the neighboring world of Teyvat. Sometimes these engagements turn hostile, and although Aether has been trying to remain peaceful until provoked, his patience is running thinner by the day.
Primary Attacks (3)
Foreign Silver Slash: Aether summons his sword from seemingly nothing, and is able to slash five times in quick succession. Medium attack version is two quick, large swings from the sword. [STR] [Comboable] [Light to Medium, 8-18%]
Palm Vortex: Grasping the wind's might, Aether forms a vortex of Anemo in his palm, causing continuous Anemo DMG to opponents pulled into the vortex. The vacuum vortex explodes after about ten seconds (<1 post), causing a greater amount of Anemo DMG over a larger area. If the vortex comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro Elements, it will deal additional elemental DMG of that type. This can only be done once per use of Palm Vortex. [WIS] [DMG 15%, +5% additional Elemental DMG when reacting] [2 Turn Cooldown]
Starfell Sword: Aether pulls a large rock from the depths of the earth, dealing AoE Geo DMG. Alternatively, the boulder can be climbed or used to block attacks. [STR] [DMG 22% Close range, DMG 17% Medium range, DMG 12% Long range, when used as a weapon] [Absorb 10% damage when used used to block attacks]
Special Attacks (3)
Elemental Reactions [Passive] : Aether is able to use the power of the elements to his advantage. Elements produced by him are able to combine with other elements (both with other elements produced by himself, and elements naturally occuring) and cause various reactions. These Elements only remain affecting someone for roughly a minute (2 - 3 posts), until they cause a reaction, which will make them cease instantly.
Essentially, each attack of Aether's that isn't his sword attack can only inflict a certain element. Palm Vortex inflicts Anemo, and Starfell Sword inflicts Geo. Later on, as he becomes attuned to more elements, Aether will be able to use different attacks corresponding to those elements. Currently, Aether can’t give someone the “Pyro” status on his own, for example. He would need to push someone into fire in order to give them the “Pyro” status, and cause Pyro reactions.
The following is a list of these reactions, what elements create them, and their effects,
Swirl: When Anemo is used offensively and hits a living being, and that being is then affected with a different element that isn’t Geo, they are inflicted with the Swirl effect. Swirl absorbs the first Element it comes in contact with and deals 5% DMG of the Element it reacted with.
Crystallize: When Geo is used offensively and hits a living being, and that being is then affected with a different element that isn’t Anemo, they are inflicted with the Crystallize effect. Crystallize generates 3 Elemental Shards corresponding to the element that Crystallize reacted with. When picked up by Aether or one of his allies, shards will produce Elemental Shields, which effectively reduces incoming Elemental DMG. The reduction is by 20% if from any element (10% damage becomes 8% damage), or 50% if the incoming attack is of the same element as the shield (10% damage becomes 5% damage).
Burning: When Pyro and Dendro come into contact, the Burning status will be inflicted. This reaction is identical to the status effect Burn.
Vaporize: When Pyro and Hydro come into contact, the Vaporize effect will be inflicted. This will deal additional 5% Elemental DMG of both Pyro and Hydro, however it also instantly dissipates.
Melt: When Pyro and Cryo come into contact, the Melt effect will be inflicted. This will deal 5% increased DMG of the Element that triggered it.
Overload: When Pyro and Electro come into contact, the Overload effect will be inflicted. This will cause 5% Pyro DMG, and break most shields, including Bubble Shields, and Elemental Shields created by Crystallize.
Frozen: When Hydro and Cryo come into contact, the Frozen effect will be inflicted. This reaction is identical to the status effect of the same name.
Electro-Charged: When Hydro and Electro come into contact, the Electro-Charged effect will be inflicted. This reaction is identical to the status effect Paralysis.
Superconduct: When Cryo and Electro come into contact, the Superconduct effect will be inflicted. Similar to Overload, this will cause 5% Cryo AoE DMG, however rather than breaking shields, it will lower the victim’s CON.
Adaptive Nature: Aether can, at the cost of an action, change the Element he is currently adapted to. He can still use attacks belonging to other Elements, however the type of Elemental DMG caused by his sword, as well as some of the colors of his outfit, will change. (There is an example below of Traveler when aligned with Geo, compared to Traveler when aligned with Anemo.)
Dandelion Knight’s Apprentice: At the cost of an action, for three minutes (3 posts), hits from Aether's sword regenerate HP equal to 25% of damage that he deals in a given attack (If Aether deals 10% damage, he will heal 2.5% damage. This goes for each attack within the 3 posts the ability is active for). This HP is restored to Aether, and half of what is restored to Aether will be restored to his allies as well. [CHA] [3 Turn Cooldown]
Final Smash - Elemental Burst (1)
Depending on Aether’s current Elemental affinity, his Final Smash will change to match.
Gust Surge: When Aether uses his Final Smash while adapted to Anemo, he will create a forward-moving tornado that pulls objects and opponents towards itself, dealing 3% Anemo DMG each 0.5 seconds (roughly 10 times per post). If the vortex comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro Elements, it will deal 1% additional Elemental DMG of that type, alongside each instance of Anemo DMG. This comes to a total of 30% Anemo, and 10% from the additional Element.
Wake of Earth: When Aether uses his Final Smash while adapted to Geo, He will set off expanding shockwaves of Geo, affecting all caught in the radius. It also launches surrounding opponents back and deals AoE Geo DMG (DMG 40% Close range, DMG 25% Medium range, DMG 18% Long range). A stone wall will be erected at the edges of the shockwave. The stone wall is considered a Geo Construct, and may be used to block attacks.
Other Info:
Paimon, his traveling companion, accompanies and assists Aether in any way she can. Combat is not one of these categories in which she can assist.
