As Viewtiful Joe raced down the hall, following the sound of Waluigi’s mirthful laughter, he would notice that it sounded like there were multiple Waluigis. Either he was good at throwing his voice or he got into the business of cloning himself. There were several behind him, just as many coming from the front of him. It was like the art exhibit had turned into a madhouse. Following the sound of the closest voice though, Joe would be brought to the art room down the hall.
It was a big empty room, a chest at the center of it all, a couple of art sculptures and paintings scattered across the floor around it. At the far wall, there was an arachnus bounded up by plasma chains, lying on the floor and muttering to himself in an incomprehensible manner. Though, more importantly, Waluigi was standing before the miserable creature, pointing and laughing in an uproarious manner. Before too long though, he would turn and take notice of Joe’s presence.
“WHAH HAH HA! Pee-eww, someone has stinky boot rash!” he hollered at Viewtiful Joe, pinching the tip of his nose. Quickly, he picked up a painting off the floor and threw it at the wall. Miraculously, the painting stuck against the wall like an oversized sticker. The purple felon then ran headlong at the wall, diving head first through the frame. The painting warped and wobbled as if it was liquid before settling again, looking like any other piece of art.
The painting that Waluigi had entered was a mural of a rather drab location, concrete floors and walls, well defined by greys. The floor looked as though it had an inch of water spanning across the length of the room. A giant-sized water bug was illustrated on the bottom left corner of the piece. If there was any prediction to make, it was likely that following Waluigi through the painting would lead Joe to whatever location it was trying to replicate.
Before Joe could make any movements though, the shackled arachnus squirmed in place a bit until his head peeked up from the ground. The creature’s eyes honed in on the henshin hero with a wash of relief. “Oh thank the gods! Somebody’s here to end this madness! Listen, I’m the security guard here, and everything’s gone pear shaped ever since that Waluigi guy broke into this place. I tried to stop him but he snuck up behind me and shackled me up with my own handcuffs!” The creature flipped onto his side, exposing the plasma shackles tied around his limbs and the metal rod that was powering it all. “If you want my professional opinion, don’t follow that guy. He’s going to play you like a chump. I think I know what he’s after though.” he gestured his head at the rod between his arms and legs. “If you snap that thing right there, I’ll take you right to it. Then you can get the drop on him!”
Upon flying through the air, Roxas would immediately spot two crocodilian creatures among the maze of artwork. If there was anything that reeked of King K Rool, that was certainly it. One was grotesquely large in size and muscle mass, cyan in colour and with a cross shaped scar on his round belly, the rather infamous Kludge for anyone who’s recently brushed up on their history of break ins at the Police Headquarters. The other was smaller (especially compared to his accomplice) and lime green in colour, sporting a sleeveless leather jacket. People around the race track would know him as Krunch.
Evidently, the duo was caught unawares. The big one was leering at the paintings that they were pacing by, as if threatening the artwork to give up the location of the one they were looking for. Meanwhile, the smaller one had an old styled paper map/floor plan unfolded in front of him, looking about as flustered as a road tripper lost in a connecting town. “Maybe you should try interrogating one of those paintings again.”
“Heh, heh, I think that last one got the punch” the big one chuckled to himself, smacking his fist into his open hand.
“I think you mean point.”
“That’s the joke!”
Krunch sighed, lowering the map to show his discontent. “This is why we don’t hang out.”
Before anything more could be said, Roxas released a whirlwind of pain upon the two unsuspecting crocs. Kludge fell over clumsily while Krunch was swept up and off his feet, slamming into a nearby wall. A bit dazed and confused, the green crocodile pulled his head out of the indentation he made in the wall. Shaking his noggin to return his focus, he looked up at the hooded figure, though, the most that did for him was let him know what was coming his way. “Aw no” he muttered to himself as he braced for impact.

The electrical surge jolted his body straight out of the wall, helping him out a bit, though in the most painful way possible. He was left kneeling on the ground, recovering from the voltage.

Meanwhile, Kludge soaked in the thunder attack like a lightning rod, the electricity coursing along his scaly body as his trunk-like feet stomped back into place. “Heh, heh. They didn’t let you know? We’re setting up the next exhibit. I’m gonna call it ‘your corpse’” the lumbering giant said slowly as if he rehearsed the line in his head once or twice.
While Captain Falcon couldn’t fly (a most heinous crime for a man named after a bird), Roxas made enough of a racket for him to know roughly where both he and the ne’er-do-wells were within the maze-like exhibit. Like a tuning fork, his head jerked from side to side, until it homed in on the sound of Roxas’s Final Thundaga crackling through the air. With his teeth clenched and the falcon’s burning energy encapsulating his body, he stormed forward with the raging speed of an F-Zero machine. Bursting clean through the walls before him, a cloud of drywall followed in his path. He wasn’t so reckless to damage the priceless artwork on the walls though, every wall he pierced through was blank after all.
In no time whatsoever, Captain Falcon arrived on the scene, pointing an accusatory finger at Kludge. “Your bantering ways are at an end, fiend!” he abruptly shouted. The chief of police lurched back, bringing his other hand forward. “Now C’MON!”
Krunch remained a bit unsteady, the shock to his system leaving him a bit unnerved and twitchy. However, he had plenty of strength left in him, more than enough to pull a weapon out from his jacket pocket discretely. Whipping his arm forward, he revealed a Rage Blaster, hastily firing off a couple of rounds at the chief of police.

Still a bit dazed, it seemed that the kremling’s aim was a bit off. Shaking his head once more, he stashed his gun away. “Awright, enough of that” Krunch muttered as he scampered forward. “Get over here, Falcon, I’ll show you my moves!” he blustered as he bared his fangs and snapped at Captain Falcon’s arm.
[Krunch’s Gnaw: p_1d20+2 // 20% damage] <9>
With Captain Falcon clearly preoccupied with his companion, Kludge returned his gaze back to his initial target. He rolled his shoulders with anticipation, before running headlong at the flying boy. He reeled his arm back and leapt into the air with a seismic woosh. The bloodshot eyes of the croc narrowed onto Roxas, followed closely by the beastly creature’s titanic fist crackling against his foe’s body. The swing of Kludge’s punch would likely cause Roxas to crash back down to earth if he wasn’t careful.

Gravity would not take kindly to Kludge’s sheer mass, thus his time in the air was quite short. However, while he was still within range of the cloaked figure, the massive kremling would snap his jaws at Roxas, trying to sink his teeth deep into his prey.
[Kludge’s Gnash Teeth: p_1d20+6 // 18% damage + 6% additional damage if the foe was stunned by the previous attack] <23>
Should Kludge’s attack land, the grip of his maw would continue to tighten. Like a natural crocodile, once he got a hold of his prey, it would be hard to convince him to let go.

CHANCE TIME:
If Viewtiful Joe has a ranged weapon, he may use it now. Waluigi is moving pretty fast, but if Joe is quick enough to draw, he might be able to clip the crook, possibly making him easier to chase down later. To hit, Joe must make an attack roll of 15 or higher.

CHANCE TIME:
The imprisoning rod on the arachnus looks decently sturdy, but its likely to snap under pressure. With an attack that does 18% damage or more and an accuracy roll of 6 or higher, the device is sure to break.

Death Roll: If a previous biting-based attack connected with the target, Kludge will proceed to sink his teeth deeper into the target, forcing them into a grapple. If the grapple roll is successful, the foe will receive Mortal Wounds based on the damage of the previous biting attack. Every biting attack that Kludge uses against the target while this grapple is engaged will deal 3% more damage.
