The Soured Orange Ocean could be seen from above as the VDF-1 carried the entire party over to the site of where they would begin their descent into the ocean itself. Flying overhead was the VDF-1 which was short for Viewtiful Dimensional Fortress. This starship could easily carry 100 people in it but right now it was only carrying exactly Five people, the rest of the space could be used for storage. The pilot of the craft being Viewtiful Joe while the others waited in the lounge area of the starship presumably resting before they took their dive into the depths of the ocean.

"This is your captain speaking. We are about to make our descent into the Soured Orange Ocean, so please make sure all tray tables and chairs are in the upright position, and be sure to wear your safety buckles until it is safe to disembark." The voice coming from none other than Viewtiful Joe who was chuckling a little through the whole thing. 

"In all seriousness I hope you guys are prepared for this, It might be a bit bumpy on the way down to the bottom. Fear not because you are all relaxing in the VDF-1, a pretty wickedly awesome starship that was once used in a space battle. But I can tell you about that some other time, we're headed under now." 

As they dive into the depths of the ocean they would notice the many fish and underwater life moving along the side of the VDF-1. From the windows everyone could see from their cabins and the lounge where they were going and how much farther down they would need to go until they reached the Halberd. For now it would take a while until they got there.

Shantae had already arrived and was relaxing in her seat, it was pretty cal for the Half-Genie, who came prepared in terms of magic, but in terms of self-defense she was lacking, though she had at least been calm and preferred to be safe for the time being, mainly because of the Magical buildup that had occurred when she was in the VDF-1 en route to the destination point.

"Hopefully there will be some good stuff to salvage in that place." Shantae said to herself as she was not very aware of the location, let alone the fact that they were going underwater.

Lucas peers out of the window. He gulps. This is going to be a tough ride. He takes out his favorite Captain Falcon graphic novel and holds on tight to his stick.

Suddenly, a purple haired half-genie catches his eye. He musters up the courage to talk to her.

"Hey, um, Miss Shantae, was it? I'm new here, could you tell me what's going on here in this world?"

Connie didn't want to admit since it might mess with the mission that she was a little afraid of the water due to a past incident, but she was almost over that and was still more excited then ever that she was going on her first mission in this world. She looked up at the announcement to tell the passengers of the ship that they were in to buckle their seats.

Connie, who was already buckle, watched as the ship went into the Ocean to head to the Halberd, while she was looking out at the window, she turned and noticed how big the passenger room really was. "Huh, I never expected the ship to be this big, you could have a cruise here if this planet wasn't infested by a virus." Connie said, but then she looked at Lucas and Shantae.

"Of course, that's still very important to deal with, but there's likely going to be a lot of parties once this Starvia is dealt with, even if that's going to be awhile." She then turned back towards the Window.

"Has anyone here been on this Halberd before? What was it like, it could help us for when we need to navigate through it?" Connie asked towards her mission partners.

Leviathan was standing with her back against the wall looking out the window. Truth be told, she kind of rather be out there right now but guess this is one thing she has to work for in the future. For now all she could do was monitor the outside as the general held her spear in hand. "... With a ship as big as the Halberd is said to be there has to be some stuff to salvage... how much is water damaged or worst is another story but no use worrying about it," The women reploid commented to Shantae.

... She has to admit this was a rather large ship to be traveling underwater. Well, at least she doesn't need to worry about drowning and this is the safest body of water to end up stuck in. "A cruise does sound rather nice. Most my comrades aren't really the types for victory parties but I'm not one to turn down a good time. As for the Halberd... Nope. It doesn't originate from my world and I have yet to properly survey this lake..." Well, it's position on this planet was ;like a lake. The actual contents of the water are closer to an ocean, saltwater and all that which fits the name. Regardless she continued looking out the windows watchfully. Just in case she had to get out for some unforeseen reason.

It seemed all too peaceful as the dive into the Soured Orange Ocean took its first leagues underwater. Almost too peaceful really since these waters were usually plagued with infected and there had been none of which Joe could see on the scanners. "Well so far so good. Looks like we'll be there soon if this keeps up." Joe said to himself. That was until the ship started to rock as if something had just hit them.

"What the?!" Joe exclaimed as the ship started to tilt slightly. With most everyone buckled up they may or may not be able to tell that the ship had shifted. It was not enough of a tilt to fall on your face so to speak, but it was enough to trip anyone standing in the cabin. 

Looking at the scanners he just detected something on the radar. Well that stinks. Joe looked at the radar and he could see a few infected headed their way. They seemed to be human sized robots all swimming toward them and firing at the ship. "Well this isn't good." Joe said as he then put on the intercom.

"Attention passengers, This is Joe speaking. It seems some infected robots are trying to attack us. Those of you that can fight underwater please use the nearby shutter to engage the enemy, those of you who can't I think it's best you stay onboard." Joe then turned on the battlements of the VDF-1. He only knew of a few passengers that could actually fight underwater but it looks like he'd have to take this into his own hands for now.

"Switching to battle mode. Hang on tight." The VDF-1 started to shift parts of it as ports for lasers and all-purpose missiles started to be loaded into the wings of the ship. Many parts of the ship were shifting on the inside too as parts of the cabin flipped on their sides to show stuff like pool tables and video games now becoming control stations for battlements. "Prepare for battle everyone. I can't use everything by myself here." 

((VDF-1 Switched to battle mode! When in the ship you are virtually unable to use your own attacks but are protected from the enemy's attacks so long as the ship holds up. The Ship's HP is 500 so it should be fine, but don't get reckless! To participate in the battle while on the ship you must use the battlement controls to aim at the infected robots. 

With these battlements come new moves you all can utilize. These moves are as follows:

Torpedo Launch: Launches a Torpedo at a single target. This attack targets the user's DEX and does 18% damage if it hits. 

Laser Lance: A laser that can be shot through all types of surfaces including water, acting like a spear in a way. This does 8% damage per shot and can be used in a combo. This attack targets the user's WIS stat.

Trapper Net: A ball like pod launches from the ship to fire a large net that is almost akin to a fishing net. It does no damage but it has a 100% chance to Stun a single target. This attack targets the user's DEX. 

Energy Shield: Activates like a bubble shield but for the whole ship. Uses the Bubble Shield durability of those who use their own on the battlements but doubled in strength. Due to the doubled strength of the Energy Shield all bubble shield usage is halved.

Missile Barrage: Activating this will make the VDF-1 fire a barrage of missiles toward multiple targets. This attack does 25% AOE damage but has a cooldown of 1 turn per use. Only one person can use this battlement at a time so pay attention to that cooldown. Targets the User's DEX.))

Connie noticed that Lucas seemed to be new on this planet like her and decided to answer his question instead of Shantae. "Well, from what I seen, it appears that there's some kind of virus on this planet that's basically turning those who come into contact with it into zombies. Hopefully if we continue to do missions like this, we can slowly stomp the infection away and make this planet a more suitable place to live in, and then we can be able to get back to our own worlds, whenever that was." Connie believed that when she gets back to her own world, it would feel like only a few seconds had passed, she hoped. As it meant it would make Steven, the gems and her parents panic about her sudden disappearance.

And after everything that happened with Steven, Connie hoped that he wouldn't be too worried once she returns, whenever that day will be. Maybe he'll come to Li instead one day, as well as her parents.

Suddenly the ship came to a sudden halt. "Huh, are we even near the Halberd yet?" Connie looked out the window, and proceeded to gasp when she saw shark like robots outside the ship, before Joe's intercom went off and told the group that they were being attacked by robots and that they need to help out if they can. Connie nodded and looked at the Battlement controls that she can use to help defeat the enemies until they get to the Halberd, she turned to everyone else in the group.

"Whoever's going out there to handle those bots themselves then be careful. It's one thing that they're robots, but ones based on sharks? They sound very dangerous to deal with in these kinds of waters." Connie then turned back towards the controls and decided to try and fire several torpedo's at the enemy. She hoped that if she missed then the torpedo's wouldn't hurt any regular sea life that wasn't infected by the starvia yet.

Leviathan noticed some movement in the water as she was keeping watch... It was fast but did not look like your run of the mill fish. She braced herself with her javelin as the ship shook from impact. Alright, looks like it's finally time for her escort duty. "Heh, I was designed just for this kind of duty. No need to worry about me. You guard the ship from in here. Robots and Sharks are both in my job description. See you after my swim~!" Leviathan waved off as she made for the way down and went out the shutter with a propelled kick and aide from her helmet.

She dashed forward to engage one of the enemy robots free of fire with her Javelin forward to try and pierce it before flipping back and activating her jets to launch herself into a dive kick to knock the aquatic robot off balance.

"I know we only just met and all but I'm sorry. You and your unit are about to become nothing more than scrap," Leviathan greeted as ice crystals formed in her spare hand before she launched the frozen projectiles at the robotic enemy to try and pierce and destroy it.

Shantae would take to the battlements next, though what she would choose to do would be a case of strategic planning mainly because of her lack of knowledge in how to use technology, but she was willing to take a crack at it because she was capable of learning in the event of actually partaking in any classes that use some form of it.

And her first action was to attempt to catch one of those Shark Bots in a net...  Which was a bad attempt regardless.

Undeterred, Shantae would try another attempt by slamming down on another button...  And screwed over the Shark Bots with a Missile Barrage.

The only thing that could easily be the most distinct was the fact that Shantae was actually beginning to learn how things like the VDF-1 was capable of, and she had plenty of time to learn more later so as to keep herself preoccupied in the long run.

One of the Sharkbots was assailed by two torpedoes which reduced its health to 14% but before it could retaliate, some lasers came right at it.

It's a Crit! The Sharkbot took double damage before exploding under the water in huge gush of steam and bubbles as it sank down farther down the water. 

With Leviathan's attacks on the second one she immediately struck it down with a dive kick then a follow-up with a piercing ice crystal attack. The second Sharkbot has been defeated!

Suddenly some missiles came toward the last Sharkbot as it had been reduced to half of its health automatically with no chance to dodge.

It's not a Crit! The Sharkbot is still at 25% health. 
The Sharkbot retaliates with a Harpoon Launcher attack! It aims the Harpoon at Leviathan as she is the closest to where it is swimming. DC is 12 to dodge and does 15% damage to a single target. 

Joe takes this opportunity to fire his own Torpedoes at the remaining Sharkbot while its distracted.

All the Sharkbots have been defeated! 

"Good work everyone! Miss Leviathan you can come back onboard if you want. We should be there soon." Joe said over the intercom. 

As they progressed through the water they would soon end up at the hangar of the Halberd. "We have safely arrived at our destination, we had a little turbulence but we made it." 

Parking the side of the ship near the hangar he would open a shutter from one of the sides of the VDF-1 for the others to walk into the area. It seemed very much in disrepair but the Halberd still had breathable air despite a few leaks in places. Whatever caused the Halberd to crash underwater might not have been solely because of the many holes in said ship, as it still held up very well. 

Entering into the Halberd Joe parked the VDF-1 near the hangar for the others to exit into this breathable space. "Now their might be some places that are flooded compared to others given the damage on this ship, so we should be careful in here. But also remember that if some infected attacked just a bit ago, there might be more of them in here too." 
Joe warned the group as he headed inside. They needed to begin their search for whatever looked useful.

This can be done anywhere when in the Halberd but can only be done once per post. 10 or more means something barely of use, 13 or more is useful, and 17 or more means it is valuable. With Leviathan out of the ship to try and help take down the Shark Bots and with the multiple nets and missiles they fired, Connie was sure that they would take down the bots easily. Which, to her relief, they soon did without doing that much damage to the ship, or outside of it for that matter. "No need, I think we did it. Great job everyone." Connie said to try and stop Shantae from going out to fight the bots. She praised the group's efforts before listening to Joe in the intercom.

They were going to arrive soon to the Halbred, which Connie soon saw from a nearby window. "So that's the Halbred? I wonder how many people worked on it in it's heyday?" Connie asked to the group, before seeing that they were going to land soon in the ship's Hanger. Once they did, Connie got ready and got out of the ship and reached the first area of the Halbred, where she soon saw Joe appear.

He told the group to be careful, as there's some parts of the ship that could be flooded by the damage. Connie nodded. "Right. Let's make sure we don't wander off unless we're required. Or in the worst case scenario, forced too." She said as she started to follow Joe, but she kept an eye out in the area for anything that could be useful to the group.

Lucas sighed a sigh of relief. He just ran into some dangerous threats, and he wanted a break. He finished his comic, and told Connie about the SSE.

"I was one of many fighters in the Brawl days, a-and I flew on the Halberd. I've never seen any place like this...wreck before, n-no."

He decided to salvage for something to channel his PSI into.

"This kinda reminds me of when I explored that Siren Airship in one of my adventures, thankfully i won't need to recall it here." Shantae mused aloud, her eyes peeled for anything suspicious that might be of use...

It was then that it happened, as though it were subconscious reflex, or something else entirely, Shantae would Transform into...

"Looks like this form just came to me, relatively quick too." Shantae would say as she looked herself over, a little bit confused as to why the form decided to come out now of all times.  Though after a few moments she shrugged and began to stare at what she might have found that might be important.

With a kick to the water Leviathan flipped back away from the harpoon shot and returned to a gentle kicking posture as she elegantly evaded the Harpoon and poised for a counterattack. However before she could deliver more swift justice it was blasted to smithereens with a torpedo. A might disappointing but maybe it's best she did conserve some energy.

At Joe's announcement Leviathan would swim up to the viewing point of his spaceship and give a shake of her head. "I'm going ahead to do a quick check of the outside of the ship. Meet up with you on board," she added with a wink before diving towards the Halberd.

Upon arriving she would swim around, looking over the ship's outer structure or any other signs of danger to both make sure if it's safe enough and to find if there was anything of value.

Thankfully her purpose was shining through as she did find some rather valuable Salvage. She would attempt to pry this free before she would dive in to the hangar with the others and surface out to greet them. "... Huh, that one girl is a mermaid now? What a surprise," Leviathan mused.
