Deep in the Kongo Jungle was a part of the jungle that was identifiable by it's gigantic fruits, fairly bad smell due to their overripeness and factory parts lying around in various places. It was an edge of this area that Naoto requested as a meetup point to look for the Yoshis. The detective was already on her ways as she looked around... While the fruit might be the reason the Yoshis live here it... looks like you might not want to eat it unless your stomach is godlike in handling. Still, seeing the machinery parts lying around in this heavily forested area was... strange. Was it like this before the merging of worlds?

She looked up at the sky... It was fairly dark as normal, and it was even darker in this foilage. Thankfully that also made it harder for the enemy to spot them. The detective Prince walked over to a giant set of grapes and examined it for a moment... Yep, suddenly she had to consider if the cooking of her friends was worth more consideration... She shook her head before walking back. There was no signs of the Yoshis here but that was probably for the best. It best they keep the element of surprise as long as they can. It was still uncertain what they were looking for but she had a feeling they'd know it when they saw her.

Naoto looked at her phone for a moment... still no reception. It was not much more use than a light at the moment. Still it seemed she did not need to wait too long. She brought up a folder on her device and started setting up some documents as she sat against a tree for a moment, waiting for the others to join her so they can get this investigation underway.

Mission Start

[Nostalgia]

There was a soft sound of small wings fluttering in the air as the Vessel drifted through the trees, the usually speedy bug taking their time and conserving energy as they look around for the others. The smell didn't seem to bother them terribly, though the random factory parts did make them a bit uncomfortable, staring at them all thrown about in contrast with the green forest. They werent very used to seeing so much green, only able to remember a few spots back home that had any considerable green at all, making the factory parts worry them that it might not stay green for very long.


The Vessel perked up slightly as they caught sight of some blue, drifting down  through the air and waving to Naoto happily, landing down lightly beside them and peeking at their documents,  sitting beside her to wait with her.

None other than the fresh new leader of the Life Sphere presented herself next Mario and Samus' newest partner replacing Sonic, Arle appeared! At 5'2'', she sported golden eyes and chestnut brown hair. She had a striking natural beauty to her, but it was unrefined. She wore no makeup, and didn't seem to put a ton of work into her appearance beyond that rather orante breastplate of hers--if that was even meant to be fashionable.

Presenting herself, she quickly caught sight of Naoto and bounced over. “Oh hey!” she greeted, pausing a moment to give the blue vessel a funny look. What was that thing? A forest critter, maybe? “...Are we missing anyone? I'm kind of hoping we'll discover something interesting while we're investigating. Or maybe that's just the part of me aching to go treasure hunting talking.” Arle asked and stated, smiling welcomingly at Naoto.

Naoto looked up from her phone at the sound of landing and to the... one that landed next to her. "... Ah, so you're the... Vessel I take it?" She asked. Her document seemed like mainly notes for the mission. The main mention was the Yoshi's strange movements as it seemed room for filling in. "Oh hello, Arle. It has been a while," she greeted the sorcerress.

"... Well, I can not claim to know if there are any treasures... But the area is mostly unscavenged so we might find something," Naoto contributed with a hand cupping her chin and thought before getting up. "We seem all accounted for. I will be recording notes with my phone. That way we can have access to our organized information."

(Mechanic! Naoto's phone. At the end of Naoto's posts there will be a list of collected evidence as labeled on her phone. If the phone is ever lost, so will the notes, although they can still be remembered off mind. In addition notes will change based on newer details and observations from the party)

"According to the reports, the Yoshis are mainly seen in the area ahead," she explained as she lead the way forward. The jungle stretched on a bit, although there seems to be an increase in where factory parts lay scattered. However as they traveled Naoto would suddenly stop and move behind a tree. "Take cover." she advised quietly as 3 Purple Yoshis were walking by in front of them, each carrying a few spotted eggs on their person.

(Blue and Arle! Roll a DEX roll to take cover in time! A 10 or higher will conceal yourself completely, a roll in 4-10 will cause the Yoshi's Suspicions Meter will rise. A 3 or lower will cause it to rise and you will get caught by the current group)

(Mechanic! Yoshi's Suspicion Meter. This meter goes from 0% to 100%, the higher it is the more cautious Yoshis will be, raising thresholds. If it reaches 100% the current group of Yoshis will attack, if there is already a group attacking, a bad event will happen based on the progress)

A gathering?	Every now and then you can apparently spot Purple Yoshis headed deep into Kongo Jungle carrying eggs. It's not confirmed if the Yoshis are connected to the others but the pattern is also peculiar. It'll be best to determine where they are headed. Even if they aren't infected, a gathering of Yoshis could be bad in the long run if they were targeted.

The Vessel nodded happily to Naoto, giving a little playful salute to her. Even with all of the broken down machinery around this place was still beautiful to the Vessel, their excitement palpable as the fidgeted and waited.


The Vessel perked up at the sound of Arle's arival, their light blue eyes glancing over her armor a bit. They looked an awful lot like... As Naoto spoke up their suspicions were confirmed. This is the same girl the Vessel got to play in the hand of fate!

The Vessel immediately hopped up to stand, the two foot tall bug giving her an excited wave before grabbing up their sign and writing over it.

Hello Arle! It's nice to finally meet you! I think it's just the three of us on this mission

Naoto drew their attention again as she described the mission, the little bug slipping the sign under their cloak as they happily hopped after Neoko, looking at the ground and watching their steps, mostly traveling in short hops over branches and roots. This was fun, being out someplace so nice and green again, able to hop as much as they like.

Arle paused a moment to read the sign, mildly bewildered. She guessed this one couldn't speak..? “I still have bad memories from last time I met a Yoshi. I think their eggs scrambled my brain.” Arle light-heartedly lamented. She was admittedly not the biggest fan of them. The thought of that first encounter still made her blush a little in embarassment when she stopped to think about it. Before she could really elaborate on that thought though, she had to take cover!

"... Their eggs... scrambled it?" Naoto had to suppress a laugh at the phrasing. It was kind of surprising she would take on a mission like this when the details were clear but... Perhaps it was a sense of pride. Right now probably wasn't the best time to ask however as the Purple Yoshis countinued hauling their eggs going by deeper into the forest. The detective prince watched them walk for a moment before doing a motion to signal the others to follow but don't attraction as she made to follow the Yoshis. She still held her gun out as she kept her distance. Best to be safe than sorry as they reached what looked like a cliff face at first glance but the Yoshis kept going towards it before passing some grapevines that were obscuring a cave entrance. "... That's quite the den. What do you say we check it out?" she suggested quietly. Noteworthy the machine parts were in more abundance the closer they got... What did that mean...?

She looked past the grapevines for a second while concealed, keeping a close eye on the movements before moving her head to follow her in. The cave was rather spacious with... a strange purple goop lining the walls in areas. It didn't look very safe to stuff as it almost seemed... to writhe in place but the substance did not make any other movements. "... Hm..." Naoto looked at it for a moment before looking forward. "I watched the Purple Yoshis leave the area. Two of them passed their eggs onto the third one before they seperated. The ones with the eggs went to the center, the other two both take the left way, neither took the right branch," she explained. "We should move quickly since there are not many hiding spots here. I'm going to go to the right first, there are obviously pros and cons to splitting up so make your choices," she explains as she went to check their rear real quick.

(Major Choice time! You may each take a different path or the same path as someone else. A larger group means you'll be easier to spot, but a smaller group means you'll be in more trouble if caught. Naoto is opting to take the path no Yoshis went on the right. The center path is where the Yoshi with the eggs went. The other 2 took the left)

The Vessel tilted their head curiously as they quietly slipped back out of the bushes, thinking to when Arle mentioned the last time she had met with Yoshi's, holding their chin and wondering silently to themself what on earth the Yoshi's could have done with their eggs to Arle that would make her blush.


The Vessel was quickly distracted again by the Naoto motioning to them, not really needing to do much to hide other than watch their step the little bug followed along with an eager pep in their step. They gave a small nod as they entered into the cave. Looking down to the strange ooze the Vessel shifted uncomfortably, constantly glancing to it as they listened to Naoto. They didn't like the way it pulsated, gave them some bad memories of home.

Eventually they pulled their eyes away as they slipped out their sign board again, looking up to Arle with it.

I think I want to go with Naoto We are all pretty sneaky, and we'll get to all the rooms eventually anyways. If you don't want to go with Naoto I'd like to stay with you

Arle grimaced. That strange purple goop was making some rather fleshy movements that she wasn't sure she was keen on. She knew how this went. She was edible, as was everyone, and she was surrounded by living tissue. She glanced down at her boots. ...She had a feeling they'd be ruined by the end of this, but ah well.

One thing she didn't get though, was why Naoto chose the right path with nothing down it. “...We're not here to 'evade' the Yoshis. We're here to find out what they're up to. I have a feeling the center path with those eggs is probably the direction we'll find some answers.” Arle mused aloud. She was intimately familiar with how Yoshis did their thing. Those eggs were ... probably supernatural in some manner. The slower they went, the more likely the thread would hit a muse drop they'd get found out by sheer chance. So sticking together didn't quite register to her as a good idea. She began to proceed down the center path.

"That is probably a safe assumption. Still, something feels... off to me..." She said as she looked down the path... It was too clean. Almost unnaturally clean. She doubted the yoshis were neatfreaks. "We'll meet back here to relay our progress. Here," Naoto took a device before tossing it to Arle. "That's my spare phone. I have it set up to fast-forward a message to me. Just hit the green button if anything happens," she advised before nodding to the vessel and heading down the path.

Center path Arle

The path the Yoshi went had even more of the writhing purple substance. Aside from that there was also Yoshi eggs lining the walls. Purple spotted Yoshi eggs with a green coloration outside the spots that gently shook every now and then with... muffled sounds. At the end of the corridor was a small round room with more of the eggs but they were more traditional if not a bit larger, white and purple spots... However they tended to shake a bit more. The Purple Yoshi just kept walking with the eggs in it's hands towards a dark corridor that stretched onward.

(Arle! The Purple Yoshi is still unaware of your presence. You can investigate the green eggs in the corridor, the white eggs in the nest round room or follow the Yoshi through the next corridor)

Right Path, Vessel and Naoto

The right path extended on a bit, the purple goop being entirely not present. Not to mention as they went on more and more metal bits started showing up until they were completely in a metal hallway that looked more like a manmade lab than a natural cave. "... What is this facility doing here?" Naoto asked out loud... before she noticed something. There were footsteps  coming down a corridor from the left. They did not sound like Yoshi footprints either. "... Quick, behind that," Naoto ducked behind a crate that was sitting in the hallway... rather convienantly blocking full sight. On the other side was similar boxes.

(Blue! Roll a 12 or higher in DEX to hide in time or you'll raise a secondary suspicion gauge. Do not roll below a 5 or you will be caught by....)

"It would appear the next batch of eggs are coming in. This will work very well for my research. Hopefully they caught something less... explosive this time. I am still cleaning up the last mess," Albert Wesker said to himself, holding a clipboard up as he walked down the halls.

(Secondary Awareness mechanic! Wesker has his own Awareness meter seperate from the Yoshi. It works similarly except it can only lower by avoiding his line of sight. Wesker can be slowed down but never killed so it's best to try and make a break for it than actually try to fight him)

The Vessel shrugged slightly and gave Arle a thumbs up to tell they understood. It made sense to try and do everything fast, they just liked the reassurance of having others nearby. One less person, what could go wrong? The Vessel glanced between the two of them as Naoto tossed over her spare phone, standing up a bit higher to look over it curiously for a moment before Naoto brought their attention back to the mission, waving to Arle as they started to follow Naoto.

As they walked down the strange corridor they constantly ran around and inspected the bits of metal covering the corridor. They nodded slightly as they listened to Naoto, only half paying attention until Naoto suddenly ducked away.

In their surprise the Vessel stumbled and their horn tinked against the metal wall, the sound echoing around before they quickly lept behind the crate, holding their face for a moment before giving Naoto an unreasonably confident thumbs up.

Arle paused for a moment to think. She of course had her own suspicions as to what might be in those eggs, but it served little purpose to talk about it. Instead, she decided to take some time to investigate those eggs, sorta leaning in and lightly holding one, trying to get a better feel for what types of movements those were. She also hovered her ear down next to it to better hear those muffled noises coming from within. She was trying to discern if there was a person inside. She could already envision herself sitting on a bunch of eggs to try and help them hatch. It wasn't her favorite idea for an afternoon, but she wasn't going to just leave them here if there were indeed people trapped in there either.

She'd probably repeat the process with the bigger white eggs next, assuming nothing ... 'supernatural' happened. Staying close to the Yoshi could wait.

Arle and the Little Nest of Horrors

A lot of the smaller eggs did make... vague struggling sounds. They were very uncharacteristic of normal eggs, but the struggling was weak and could barely be heard over an... odd goopy sound. However, as she investigated the eggs, one had it's wobbling intensity heightened as it seemed to have gotten a verge of strength. The egg fell over and cracked before releasing a... Toad against the floor. It was kind of hard to tell it was a Toad at first. The purple stuff from earlier was clinging to him and his coloration was... purple and a bit more like Yoshi skin than Toad skin. Still, he was more Toad than Yoshi by appearance... a weird mixture of the two had he already had foundation for a Yoshi nose and tail. "Help... me..." he uttered as he raised a hand towards Arle.

Just then, in the next room, one of the larger eggs started shaking violently. After a moment the egg would begin to crack and then burst as a purple... Yoshi.... With an unreasonably buff appearance broke out of his shell. The Yoshi would then look to Arle and showcase his... chiseled facial structure before giving a super deep voice, "Burrring haaaaaaaa!"

He would then rush forward, kicking aside the heavily damaged Toad before attempting to give Arle a deck to the face to send her flying back with that unreasonably toned arms.

(Arle! The unreasonably buff Yoshi is trying to punch you! Roll a 12 or higher in DEX to avoid or take 20% damage and an 1 turn Mind Melted from the impacted)

Naoto gave a distressed look at the noise Vessel just made, looking to Wesker who... Glanced over at the noise for moment. He stared for a bit before turning around and going to walk further down the corridor. However as he did so, the man would stop. He would then turn around and dash towards Vessel's box before attempting to slam into it with a powerful kick, attempting to force him away from the box. "There's no use hiding!" he declared at his... rather rough method of checking for bugs.

(Vessel! Wesker is trying to force you out of hiding! Roll a 14 or higher in CON. If you fail Wesker will become aware of your presence and you'll take 5% damage)

Strange Man

A man in a black suit, sunglasses concealing his eyes and blonde hair. From his words he seems to have some involvement with the Yoshis. He is doing research on them... catching things.

Yoshi Y-Type	A Creature created by genetic alteration. A horrifying bio weapon with muscles as chiseled as it's face and as deep as it's voice. It's a terrifying specimen with an award winning smile and the strength to boot.

[Nostalgia]

The little bug's unreasonably confidentthumbs up came back down as Wesker seemed to ignore the noise and start walking away in the opposite direction. The Vessel seemed to let out a little silent sigh of relief at the sound of the footsteps moving farther and farther away, perking up and smiling as they seemed to go silent. In an instant the little bug's body jolted and tensed, clinging tightly onto the box as the footsteps rapidly approached!

As Wesker's foot slammed into the box and the box took the force he would find... Nothing. Nothing got knocked off of it and no new noises were made as the little Vessel held their eyes shut tightly and stayed firmly clung to the surface in silent hope it would be enough for him to give up and leave.

Arle recoiled slightly at the sight of the toad. Oh geez... That was a little gross. What could she... Maybe a healing spell would work? There were limits to what she could just 'heal away', though, and she wasn't sure if this--... Just then, a yoshi demanded its attention with her presence.

"--aaaAAAAA!!" Arle screamed in fright as the grossly muscular yoshi charged her. It was going to--...Arle was thrown backward as she was struck in the face. What..? Ow. She held her bruised cheek as she got back to her feet, pushing herself back up and readying herself for a fight. Geez! ...It reminded her a little bit of getting hit by Rulue. But ... wait. That was a boy yoshi, right? It probably didn't even lay eggs, she reasoned. Maybe she was worried for nothing

"Alright tough guy! Time for an attitude check! Magic Missile!!" Arle incanted, firing off a trio of force missiles to smack into the yoshi.
