Vent wandered into the arena, hoping to find a decent challenge, there were hardly any people here as a result of 'that' incident that occurred here.

"Looks like this place has been fixed up, no telling what might happen if the stands got wrecked again." Vent said as he looked around, this place reminded him of something, but it sure as hell wasn't that park, the Crashed Nintendo Land was proof of that painful memory of his past as a child. "well, guess I should be ready for when my opponent arives." Vent would muse, drawing from his pockets the two biometals that were on his person, that way he can megamerge and begin fighting when it begins.

[Doctor Ciel]

It was a dark evening. Most people had already gone home for the night. A quiet time of day any time. Stars shone overhead, and grass materialized under Vent's feet. Suddenly, he was in a grassy field. Fireflies flew around, and a few trees and boulders materialized into existence, populating the area. The grass felt soft underfoot. Real. A girl stepped out onto the stadium floor and approached Vent.

“...Hi Vent. I hope you don't mind the change of scenery. We're testing some virtual reality technology for the stadium. It isn't real, but it should feel real enough for a fight. I tried my best to emulate a beautiful night sky and the feeling of the world being illuminated by moonlight.”

Ciel took a deep breath, wringing her hands for a moment in thought.

“ ...I saw you scheduling a match and remembered you said you wanted a weaker opponent to train against back when we fought Omega. And well... I am a much weaker opponent. Ehehe~ I'm just a little girl. I think it's fair to say that I'm a much better scientist than I am a fighter. ”

“ You handled that Omega fight better than you're giving yourself credit for. ”

“ ...I probably got at least a little lucky. I don't even know where those movements came from. Thinking back on them, I feel like I should've frozen in place in fear, or run away. But I didn't. I'm not sure how. Could it have been the biometals that drew it out of me? ”

“ Maybe. But it had to be there for either of us to draw it out. It might feel like you weren't yourself, but maybe that's because you aren't in touch with some of your feelings. ”

Ciel was briefly stunned, looking away in silent distress for a moment. She recognized a truth to what the biometals were saying, but she didn't want to accept the first thought that came to mind. She wasn't a killer. She wasn't a warrior. She wasn't a heroine. It just wasn't true. She didn't like that idea.

“ ...I have been training to open my heart and utilize love magic. And I've been tinkering with a few other inventions. It might be a little strange, but I would enjoy the chance to test them out. ”

From the stands, DLN-002-02 called out, waving energetically and cheering light-heartedly. She seemed to be having a good time. “Hi Mooom~! Go go! Beat his--um... feet~! Gooo Mom~! I love you~! You can do it~!”

Ciel briefly turned to acknowledge Roll, smiling brightly at her, waving, and blowing her a kiss. She then turned to address Vent again.

“ ...I probably won't be using my biometals as a result. To be honest, I kind of hope I don't win. I know it'll disappoint Roll, but I'd feel bad embarrassing you in public like that. I know boys make fun of other boys who lose fights with girls. So... we don't have to do this if you don't want to. Sorry if that sounds a little presumptuous. Ehehe~ ”

Vent was still mulling over things when he noticed the scenery change, it was subtle, but not a pure change as it was a cosmetic change via virtual reality.

"Hi Ciel. This virtual reality stuff kinda reminds me of some of the games I played when I was a kid." Vent said with mild enthusiasm, he would walk over to Ciel and give her a gentle hug, It made him happy to help with the situation with Ashes Model A, though bit came at the cost of nearly getting himself killed despite having fought by using ranged attacks rather than going into a Melee combat oriented mindset.

"I don't mind having a spar with you, it makes me feel like I can enjoy helping you out with training, plus it helps both of us because it makes sense to ensure that we can be ready for whatever comes our way." Vent added as he gave Roll a smile to ensure that Ciel would not be severely injured in their fight.

He would then promptly double megamerge and be at the ready to face Ciel.

[Doctor Ciel]

Ciel was taken off guard as Vent approached her and rather abruptly hugged her. She felt like she barely knew him, and here he was holding her. It was enough to make her turn somewhat red in the face. She hoped she didn't smell of sweat after a hard day's work... Her silent fears aside though, she bashfully brushed a hand through her bangs as Vent pulled away, stepping back.

“ --Oh, this isn't Virtual Reality. This is called 'Mixed Reality'. The difference is that unlike virtual reality, you as a user don't need a headset to see it. And unlike augmented reality, you can interact with the digital constructions. See? ”

Ciel walked as she spoke over to a boulder and demonstrated by pulling herself up onto it and sitting on it. It supported her weight as if it were real, and she kicked her feet a little in a playful manner.

“ It's supposed to cut down injuries related to falling off airborne battlefields and expenses related to environmental damage. I also hope that it will keep the audience a little bit safer during fights by projecting a see-through barrier dome around the battlefield.  ”

Ciel slid back down and shifted to place her hand upon the buster at her hip, thoughtfully looking away for a moment.

“ ...If you're sure, though, we can get started! I'm a little scared to fight someone using two biometals using just myself. Ehehe~ Let's go! ”

Ciel closed her eyes for a moment and shifted to hold her hands in a seeming prayer. Hey Vent. Remember all those souls Serpent absorbed to turn into a horrifying giant death machine? The ones he took from living people and destroyed for his own gain?

Yeah, three of them flutter around Ciel and vanish into her chest, absorbed in much the same fashion.

The world begins to distort around Vent a bit. He might find that the world was moving faster around him than it ought to! ...If the attack hit, of course.

Ciel then drew her buster, which had been specially modified such that when she turned off the safety and slid back a slider, it produced a z-saber! She then ran at Vent and attempted to cut him with a wild diagonal slash!

"It's fine, Ciel.  I will at least try to avoid using my full power if I can help it, so please be sure to dodge or block if you feel it necessary." Vent would say to Ciel, his mind racing... Mixed reality, he never even heard of such a thing before, he might have heard it in school when he was a kid, but to hear it from Ciel made him feel almost satisfied with when he had to do homework on the subject back then.

These memories which he would hold would soon be put on the back burner for the time being, as Vent soon saw that which caused him to attack Serpent in the first place due to his lust for power and wanting to usurp the system set up by the sage trinity.  He would relent as it was Ciel who was taking some of the Cyber Elves into herself, she wasn't like Serpent, and he knew it.

He would be ready for the attack but he was not prepared for a possible assault on his own mind.

"I see...  This is going to be a little challenging." Vent said calmly, readying his own weapon and responding in kind,

Ciel... frowned slightly. She was trying to be nice. Yet, Vent insisted upon holding back. She supposed perhaps he didn't care about the possibility of defeat. Ah well. Might as well, then.

Ciel deftly twisted her small body around to dodge some of the shots, however one caught her in the shoulder and she softly gasped. As Vent approached her though, she brandished the Z-saber in her hands and used it to catch his strikes, blocking them! Each time the force of the blow nearly knocked her saber from her hand , causing her to recoil slightly and softly gasp. She was a bit too wimpy to be blocking attacks like that, but it was better than being cut.

Ciel then pushed forward, attempting to go on the offensive, daintily swinging the saber in her arms around in an attempt to catch Vent's guard lacking and cut into him! Once. Twice. Thrice. Four times. She was doing her best effort to imitate Zero's fighting style with ...er... very mild success.

And then, after her onslaught of dainty slashes, Ciel freed one hand from her saber and closed her eyes, holding a hand out from which a heart appeared in the air, rapidly expanding with explosive force to blow Vent back if he weren't able to get away fast enough!
