As bleak as the city was, the infected that callet this place home would find themselves amidst the tumult of the rampant thundering footfalls of renegade Mavericks that had long since rebelled against humanity, the mavericks were few and the infected many, but one entity stood out from the croud as its red wand struck the ground, the infected and the mavericks that were fighting turned...
there was a sound of thunder...
and the fighting ceaced to be, both maverick reploids and infected within the vicinity had fallen back out of utter horror, as the shadow of death had swiftly silenced them when it appeared in the skies and made its way to an abandoned facility that stood tall on the outside, but inside, the place was in shambles.  Skeith pulled the doors to this now derilict facility off their hinges and waited inside for his client to arrive.

Eggman wasn’t sure why some ‘Terror of Death’ wanted to meet him outside of the Life Sphere’s territory. Sure, going out in plain sight of the public wasn’t the greatest idea since the good doctor’s reputation was rivaling that of the Starvia itself. He only tried to take over the world… countless times, at least he wasn’t a plague infecting people left and right. As for who he was meeting, Robotnik had never heard of such a creature as Skeith. He knew nothing of his allegiance to anyone or anything and he knew not what the thing had in store for him, but showing up with an army to back him up would only sour their deal, so fair enough.

Dr. Eggman’s craft hovered through the ruins of another technological city. It looked similar to the doctor’s plans for Robotnik land, if those designs or plans were ever actually carried out. Either way Eggman hardly knew the layout of the land, but after he had a drone scan the place many hours prior he was able to direct his futuristic craft over to what Skeith had labelled as the Maverick Hunter HQ.

The freshly stripped doors were the entrance he choose to navigate his Egg-mobile through, entering the facility with the golem-esque being waiting for him. The egg-shaped figure within the cockpit made no real change in expression toward the giant despite the fact its appearance was hardly what Eggman had expected. “Alright, you wanted words, you got them. I brought no army, no weapons. What interest do you have in me?”

Skeith simply stared at Dr eggman, had Skeith been given an actual mouth, he would speak like a normal creature, but the epitaph did not, and simply spoke through eggman's subconcious domain. "I simply have an interest in joining you, if only to bring a new means to keep your enemies at bay with my power. Any other reasons are going to be between us through an encrypted channel that can't be traced by your enemies unless they were experts in message interception via computers, which I doubt they have." he said telepathically, hoping to give Eggman his allegiance and offer support to prevent his eventual defeat, even if it were against Bowser or K. Rool, or even against the likes of Sonic.

The other reason Skeith had decided to join up with eggman was purely his own, he was the only epitaph in the area, the other seven phases were nowhere to be seen, so there would be no Cursed Wave to bring about on this planet, not even with the Starvia Disease in the area.

The creature made no movements, in fact it didn’t even move its mouth when addressing the figure in the Egg-mobile. It spoke into its mind. Its offer was something that Eggman couldn’t possibly refuse under most circumstances, a powerful being that came to him to work? It usually was the other way around. Even then, what could this creature possibly care for the true Eggman’s safety? It was not from a place Robotnik was familiar with, so its motives were unknown as far as he knew.

“Hrm, so you want to protect me and make me even more powerful than I once was. This sounds far too convenient. What gain do you get from this? And why should I trust your word for that matter? I have plenty of enemies who’d just love to have a spy or secret agent in my establishment” the egg-shaped humanoid rebutted, crossing its arms as it did.

"Just like the Bird Kazooie that I rescued from the jaws of death, you too are quick to have no trust in me, the only gain I hope to get out of this is to show those who lower their guard, that death is always close by, no matter where they run or hide. Therefore trust is key when facing the unknown." Skeith replied telepathically to the doctor. this was perfectly true, and Eggman would never be able to deny this. All life that is born in the world begins to die slowly through age, Machines become obsolete, flesh rots and becomes bone, which in turn becomes dust, plants wither and wilt, and food spoils.

The Egg-mobile riding humanoid shook their head almost robotically as Skeith continued to only back up its argument with words and nothing more. It spoke of nothing that could prove that it held upmost loyalty to the doctor’s cause. It seemed more interested in its own motives which only perplexed Eggman more as to why it was interested in becoming under his command. “Only a fool trusts in words alone. I on the other hand prefer something more solid. Any insect could approach me and talk a good game, but show nothing for it. How about a test of loyalty then? How far would you be willing to go in order to prove to yourself to me?”

"As far as I can go to the point that the only thing standing between me and my mission is Death itself!" Skeith said, a glint of ominous pride showing in his eyeless sockets, this was his way of showing his loyalty to the Eggman, so much so that the sound of thunder illuminated the abandoned Maverick Hunter Facility in its entirity and causing it to rain.

The egg-shaped humanoid still showed little enthusiasm toward anything the creature had ‘said.’ In fact, the doctor’s face hadn’t changed much during the course of their conversation. Sure, his collar covered most of his mouth and the sunglasses he wore made no difference in terms of his eyes anyway. It was just something worth noting though. “Hrm, you could prove useful then. I always need someone to get things done. Alright then, my schedule is already full in terms of covert operations, but I’ll see if I can fill you in sometime in the future. For now though, It seems that all of my recruitment posters have been torn down, I need you to somehow influence more citizens to join my cause. I don’t care how you do it, whether you set up more posters or search the busy bee lobby. Find a way to attract attention to yourself and bring me more followers, your loyalty will be rewarded for this task. How does a Dynablade assist trophy and a double cherry item sound to you?”

Skeith nodded to this and made to leave. "I will do the best that I can to bring you more followers, and I don't intend to fail." he said telepathically as he glided out into the rain, and vanished theough a portal back to Life Sphere Central, Leaving Dr. Eggman plenty of time to get back to his base of operations.
