SSB: LIFE ITSELF 2011-2021
The group would arrive outside the Magical Girl's Society lodge to find two strikingly pretty young ladies waiting for them. One of them was Blue, standing at a fairly average height for a girl at 5'4''. The other was Valorie, who stood at a very diminutive height of 4'9''.
"...What's a malasada?" the blonde girl asked. "It's food." Blue replied rather leisurely, only to pause a moment and second guess herself. ...Did the word food even mean anything to Valorie? She had to wonder how helpful a description that was to someone like her. "You'd probably like it. Maybe Hau will share if he has any left over~!" Blue replied. Valorie swallowed a lump in her throat anxiously. Great, now all she could think about was food. Blue greeted Moon with a very small smile. "...That's alright. We're looking at thousands of miles of ocean without any identifying landmarks here, so anything that helps us narrow that down will probably do a lot more good than food anyway." Blue replied. In truth, her greatest fear wasn't that they wouldn't find Lillie--but rather that they were already too late. She decided to keep those horrible suspicions to herself, though. She'd already strongly hinted at them earlier and didn't really want to make this any harder on Lillie's friends and family.
Seeing Lusamine arrive, Blue perked up a bit. "--Hello. It's nice to meet you, Miss Lusamine. Hau. I'm Blue, and this is Valorie. She has graciously agreed to lend us the aid of her dragonite in helping us find Lillie." Blue explained. Valorie raised a brow at Blue. That... wasn't how she remembered it, but yeah sure! She'll take credit for that. "Hi~" Valorie sheepishly greeted, her gaze locking onto Lusamine. "It's nice to see you again Miss Lusamine." she fondly added, flashing a very inviting smile up at the other blonde. "We'll be traveling through Cauldros, a part of Li with some pretty nasty weather and air quality. ...Aaand we'll be avoiding all of that thanks to her dragonite's ability to control the weather. She's big enough to carry all of us and does well with the water. Even still, I'd advise you not to bring anything electronic unless you can live with it breaking." Blue went on to explain. "We should head out as soon as we can. If you want to pick someone to hold onto on the way there, we're going to want to fly pretty fast until we get out there to start the search." Blue advised. Having someone to hold onto generally decreased the odds of anyone falling off, and was a great solution for if anyone wasn't necessarily comfortable with flying.
Sensing that the time was right, Valorie produced a love ball, priming it and tossing it out onto the street to release her dragonite! Sure enough, her dragonite was a lot bigger than the average dragonite. At just over 12 feet tall with a respectable girth, she weighed half a metric ton. Dragonite turned to look at the group rather curiously, an unassuming look on her face. "Looks like we're going on a rescue mission, Dragonite. Hope you don't mind carrying us and keeping us safe on the way there~" Valorie explained. Dragonite seemed somewhat surprised by the request, but crouched down somewhat and offered her arms for anyone looking for help getting up onto her back.
Hau nodded vigorously as the young boy began to pace uncomfortably around their meeting spot. Sure, important adult stuff needed to get done before they could actually hop on a Dragonite and fly out to rescue Lillie, but Hau didn't want to wait for stupid adult stuff to end. Lillie was out here, Lillie needed his and Moon's help! (And the help of her mother and the other two, but that wasn't very important to Hau right now.) Taur-Hala stood by as well, oddly patient compared to his antsy Trainer. It huffed slightly when Hau was greeted, and the young man didn't respond.
Hau was too busy remembering the Aether House, and the brutal loss he suffered defending Lillie. It was ENTIRELY his fault Lillie was taken captive that time, and it devastated him. In truth, Hau admitted it was the moment that motivated Hau to become a Trainer who fought like every battle was important. And now? Lillie was missing again, not by his blunder, but Hau had a chance now to find her, and save Lillie. And then they would have an awesome time again, and Lillie and Moon and Hau could sit under a Alolan Exeggutor and eat Malasada with their Pokemon.
Hau didn't even react when Dragonite emerged. "Are we getting ready to go? Why are we still here? Come on, come on, come on, we don't have time to waste! We gotta help Lillie, and we can talk about a plan from the skies." It was evident to the others that Hau's emotions were on the edge for the 11-year-old.

Moon looked to Hau for a moment as Blue and Valorie discussed Malasadas for a moment. She knew he enjoyed thoe Alolan Delicasies more than probably anyone. She liked a few of them but to think Hau has that much stockpiled fresh before coming here-... Not too surprising.come to think of it. Regardless she'd like to greet him proper but time was currently of the essence. "Yeah, we can't really afford a blind search. Fortunately if anyone can find them it's her," Moon assured as she seemed to wait patiently for the plan of action though one could note her impatience through her foot movements and reaching for the Pokeball spot of her Quiver Bag she carried on her back in relation to her regular bag.
"Don't worry about me, I am completely water proof~!" The Rotomdex floated out of Moon's bag as she went for Nebby's ball. "I'd rather not test how durable the Rotomdex actually is, Rotom. You keep an eye out for news on that Pokemon, alright?" the girl stated firmly. "Oh right, your son~! ZZzzzzt, fine, but you will miss having me," Rotom teased before floating off. "... The rest of my stuff is low tech so it should be fine. Come on out, Nebby!"she called as she tossed out a Pokeball that called forth the final form of Cosmog, Lunala. "Lillie had a Cosmog I gave to her named Nebby Jr. Them and Nebby seem to both be connected in some way, especially since I found them in another Alola from an Ultra Wormhole. Nebby should be able to feel Nebby Jr. out somewhat so she's our best shot to find Lullie quickly. Alright, Nebby, stay close to Dragonite and try to guide us to Nebby Jr, okay? Do not wander off, alright?" Moon instructed to the Pokemon who seemed a bit more serious than usual, nodding slightly and then flying to Dragonite's side.
"I am fairly familiar with flying on both Deciduete and Nebby so if anyone wants to hold on to me, go ahead," Moon suggested as she jumped up onto Dragonite's back with a small amount of effort and waiting for their trip while Nebby seemed a bit impatient herself though more transparent than her trainer.

Lusamine clacked onto the scene, her eyes glowing as they took in the Magical Girl Society’s lodge. There was a sense of awe on her countenance, almost disregarding the other two girls standing in front of it. Her attention was snapped back into reality by Steve’s hasty approach, his work boots clunking against the ground rather loudly. “Miss Lusamine! The readout has confirmed this to be the Magical Girl’s Society’s lodge!” he announced with a salute and holding his device close to his chest.
Acknowledging her employee with a brief glance and a sweet smile, Lusamine replied in a hum “Mmm, I don’t need technology to identify something with such brilliance and beauty.” Her gaze soon broke off from the building despite her want to admire it for longer. It would be quite rude to disregard such lovely looking trainers. She returned the two a striking grin, and partially bowed her head in response to their greeting. “And it’s a pleasure to meet both of you, I only wish it was under better conditions. I would have loved to get a tour of your establishment, I can’t help but admire it” she spoke sweetly. “We can’t waste any more time than we already have though” she added hastily, her expressing quirking to concern as the severity of the situation caught up with her.
As Valorie insinuated that this wasn’t the first time they met, she curiously looked to her employee. Steve responded with a shrug. “Oh, you must have met another of me. Strange that there’s people around the Life Sphere who want to think they’re me. I don’t blame them for trying” she said with a flip of her hair.
As she suspected though, she wasn’t the only one they got in contact with. Both Moon and Hau were on the premises. Hau she had previously met within the Life Sphere, but Moon was a surprise. Lusamine offered no more than a warm complexion to them both, because as Hau was reminding them in his own Hau-y way, time was of the essence and they didn’t exactly have time to exchange pleasantries. She did take the time to admire the grown up Nebby though.
While the Dragonite was quite big for its species, the number of passengers it was taking was already quite hefty. Adding both Lusamine and Steve would make their ride a bit too cozy. “I wouldn’t dream of burdening such a beautiful Dragonite further. Steven, if you’d please”
“Already called the Poke-ride, Miss Lusamine!” he said at attention. Without a moment’s notice, a Charizard descended from the sky and perched on the ground to allow Lusamine to take her seat. Steve on the other hand, without any command, walked in front of the flying lizard and hooked his arms atop of the Charizard’s. They were ready to follow as soon as the Dragonite pushed off.
Blue just kinda stared at Hau for a brief moment. Sheesh. Kids. She could've just given him a direction to head off in and he probably would've never made it home. ...Maybe this was why they didn't let eleven year olds organize search parties. She had a feeling she'd be doing a bit of babysitting, but she also had a feeling it'd take way too long to get Hau off her back at this point to bother with telling him to get lost. She just had to hope nothing would go terribly wrong and she wouldn't be responsible for getting him killed. It was a risky bet in terms of her public perception, bt then she was mostly only known for being the manager of the True Arena, ...and she had no idea who that was. They were certainly giving Blue a convincing allibi, though. Valorie blanched for a moment. Another Lusamine? Curious. But perhaps a doppelganger was responsible. You could never be sure in this land of magic. After all, if Amitwo was real then who was to say what was and wasn't? "--Oh..! W-Well, it's really nice to meet the real you, anyway." she sheepishly replied. "...Well, if everything turns out alright and we rescue your daughter, maybe we can come back here and give you that tour!" Blue offered, smiling invitingly at Lusamine. There was too much up in the air if they failed this mission. Who honestly knew how a mother that lost her daughter would feel? Whether she'd hate them for failing? Whether she'd want to be alone? Better to make plans only for victory. "We've got doctors and healers. Just... one more thing." Blue added, her gaze shifting to watch Hau in particular. "Don't get lost at sea. The Life Sphere does not have the resources to retrieve anyone from the bottom of the ocean. Trophification or not, that's a dead end." Blue firmly warned. She dared not mention her knowledge of how many people were probably lost on the ocean foor beyond help, but she knew it was a favored place to make someone 'disappear'.
Blue saddled up with Valorie on Dragonite. It was up to Hau which of the girls he'd ride with or if he had his own pokemon to ride. Either way, they would soon be off.
Their journey took them across Li, and although Blue was fighting not to eat Valorie's hair they made good progress. They saw several strange things. The oceans were highly poluted, yet they saw signs of life. Not... normal ocean life. More like eldritch ocean life. Enormous tentacles gliding across the water. Ships without crews that seemed to follow them, but were too slow to catch them. A giant whirlpool that thrashed the surrounding waters. A terrible fog that rolled in and blinded them, the disembodied screams of creatures, not all of which were human, ringing in the distance until Valorie's dragonite blew the fog away with immense winds. Blue didn't even have a word to describe what they'd just encountered, and yet she knew it was supernatural. If it hadn't been, it would have never gotten near them with Dragonite controlling the weather. Eventually, though, they arrived at--... Blue brushed Valorie's hair out of her face to get a better look. Was that..?
. . . Well that's ...inviting?
Inviting might not be the best word. There was something eerie about seeing such a seemingly pleasant looking island out here in no man's land. The word "HELP" was dug in the sand on the beach. That was... a good sign they were at least going in the right direction, Blue reasoned. Dragonite flew down, leading the way onto the beach. Once they'd landed, Blue and Valorie slid down, looking around. "...Alright. I guess this is where we're searching." Blue remarked. Ahead of them laid forests, rivers, and .... two... volcanoes erupting with rainbows?? If she didn't know any better, she'd suspect love magic was at work here. But... the planet itself couldn't conjure love magic right? That wasn't a natural element. It was a human element!
Hau wasn't completely stupid. Sure, the young man was excitable and rushed head-first into almost every situation possible, and perhaps he wasn't as educated as some of the others on Li, but Hau wasn't stupid per say. He was just an 11-year old boy with too much energy, nigh powerful creatures at his command, and a positive attitude. So when Blue mentioned making sure not to fall into the ocean, Hau got a message; You can't afford to let your worry overtake your senses. Huh, it was like Gramps telling him the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again. Well, now he DEFINITELY needed to because that really pretty Blue lady was glaring at him like a Gumshoos leering at a lesser Pokemon. Hau... may or may not have gulped loudly when he noticed.
Upon being asked to come aboard, Hau waved them off with his hand and said, "No worries, I'll just have Noivern follow behind you guys and we'll be pe-"
Hau paused, face slowly paleing. Where was Noivern's Poke Ball? Did he bring it with him? He could have sworn it was with him when the giant Pokemon back at the Altar of the Moon beat Hau and sent him here. ...
Oh, Arceus, the other 3 Poke Balls must have slipped out of his bag when the weird Pokemon swallowed Hau up. Well. That changed EVERYTHING a few things. Hau sighed, "...Moon can I ride next to you?" The sights of the ocean were awesome and terrible. Hau had to quiet himself after the first twenty minute due to the crazy sites he was seeing. Was that a ship... being manned by no one?!? HOW COOL IS THAT? You could do nothing all day, and eat Malasadas and let the ghost crew take you where you needed to go and it would be pretty awesome! Hau imagined it as they flew, although the image of Lillie, cut up and hurt, surrounded by evil Pokemon and monsters and calling for help (mainly help from Moon) kept Hau particularly sober for the flight. How could he think things were cool if Lillie was being hurt? No one was gonna hurt his friends!...And with 2/3 of his friends being stuck in a world where life itself was trying to kill you, well, Hau was gonna make sure none of the only people who ever liked him for him got hurt again.
And when they approached the island...
"...Hey, Moon, doesn't that kinda... Kinda look like a Pikachu?"
Upon landfall, Hau jumped off and called out Taur-Hala from his Poke Ball. Slipping into the saddle set-up on the Tauros' back, Hau turned around and raised a hand. "OK, so what's our plan? Which way am I headed? Who's coming with me, and how will we be able to let you know where we are? What happens when we find Lillie? And who do I get to beat up for hurting her? I'm ready to go, and I bet one other human can ride with me. Does anyone want a Malasada right now? Do you wanna divide them up now or later? When we find Lillie, can we feed her? Also, what should I be scared of out here? Did anyone bring a Fire Type? Do you think Ultra Beasts come from here? What about evil Pikachu natives with spears that worship a giant Pikachu? Or maybe there's a Legendary Pokemon here?... I dunno."
The boy barely stopped for breath. Even Taur-Hala looked up at his Trainer in stunned disbelief.

Lusamine gazed at the Magical Girl’s Society once more and then kindly returned a smile to Blue. “Oh, I would expect nothing more!” she pleasantly accepted the offer. She gently stroked behind the horn on Charizard’s head. “I don’t work in ifs though. And I’m sure you’re all more capable than ‘if’” she spoke with pride.
Once the other avian Pokemon began to kick, the Charizard took to the skies right behind them. The creature hugged Steve’s arms closely as he dangled like a ragdoll. Lusamine rode rather stoically, her stone face not even breaking to the whips of the wind. A sort of determination kept her complexion rigged, though curiosity gripped her for a moment as they found themselves above the sea. She peered down to bits of creatures poking out of the water, wondering what the whole of their bodies might look like and their origins. They could be Pokemon, after all. More curiously, they might not be. “Are you alright down there, Steve?” Lusamine inquired, considering they dipped a bit lower than the rest of the group to satisfy her curiosity.
Steve was a bit busy kicking away tentacles that were trying to snatch at his feet to answer at first, but as they quelled momentarily, Steve looked up. “Only as comfortable as you are, ma’am” he replied confidently as he attempted to salute. As he finished speaking though, he went back to fending off the tentacles.
As they arrived at their location though, Lusamine’s eyes sparkled. “Steve, give me a quick estimate on how much setting up an Aether outpost on that island would be” she commanded with awe.
“Uh… a lot?”
“When we land, write me a check for a lot!”
“On it right now!” he answered as his interlocked arms got to work scribbling something on a piece of paper.
The Charizard followed directly behind the Dragonite, dropping Steve on the beach front, allowing him to belly flop into the sand. The winged lizard then gently landed and crouched to accommodate Lusamine and allow her to step off elegantly. “Couldn’t pick a better place to get lost myself” she commented with a hair flip. She inspected the letters written in the sand closely, then peered off into the distance curiously.
Hau’s marathon of words soon got her attention though. That boy had an amazing pair of lungs. “Well, the note’s still here, so a trail of footsteps should be our first sense of direction. Hau, if you would be so kind to find those, that would be wonderful” she instructed like a school teacher. “And Steve?”
Steve’s head jolts to attention. “Item finder’s powered up and ready to go!” he answered as he subtly swung the metal detector around, seeking a signal from the sand.
“Excellent” she purred as knelt down next to signal written in the sand, inspected the girth of the letters in case the author’s hands were bigger than they’re supposed to be. Finding a lead didn’t mean it couldn’t be a trap.
(( CoolshayminTherider So uh--Things got a little chaotic. Unfortunately, we lost G&W. But apparently supposedly Cool is coming back? Maybe? I'unno. Until Cool posts, I'll be moving on with you Rider. ))
Blue beamed at Lusamine slightly, silently impressed by her ability to be so pleasant at a time like this. She nodded in understanding. "We'll make sure of it, then." she replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
Once the group reached the islands though, Hau admittedly brought up a... good question. It took Blue a bit to make sense out of his frenzied speech, but when she did she gestured to the sky. "--Yyyyeah. Just be careful not to feed Lillie too much right away. If she hasn't eaten for a while, it might make her sick. Her body will need to re-adjust to food before she can eat bigger meals. One malasada should do the trick." Blue explained. "See the sky? Pay attention to it. Once anyone finds Lillie or needs to reunite with the group, they should take to the sky and fly in circles for a while to grab our attention. Since you can't fly, you should probably stick close to one of us. Let's try groups of two! That way we can cover more ground but we have someone watching our backs if any monsters try to nibble on us." Blue remarked, too genre-savvy to expect an easy time here.
"Who's going with who?" Valorie curiously asked. "--Who do you want to go with, Hau?" Blue asked. As the only one without a flying pokemon, his choice would likely decide for everyone else.

Moon looked to Hau for a few moments, remembering that he had a flying Pokemon with him before... but then realized that it's not like she had her whole team when coming here either. In fact she was still missing the bigger ones on her team. "Yeah, get on," she patted as she moved over on Nebby. The Pokemon was familiar enough with Hau too to feel at ease on him and it was a pretty big one before taking off with the others.
"Oh yeah, it does look like a Pikachu," she commented. Really items looking like Pokemon was not too strange but that was... very undebatable this time. Even Moon had trouble keeping up with what Hau was saying as she stepped off of Nebby to readjust her quiver and supplies on her back and bag over her shoulder. "Yeah, she's right, best to be cautious when we don't know how long she's been out... Or where here is. I could lend you Robin but I am not sure dividing my team is a good idea," she added as she stood up to look around.
"Teams of two is the best action then. We are both familiar with Lillie so it might be best we go on seperate pairs in case that helps. I'll leave that to you," she finishes as she signals to Nebbie to come to her... Which the legendary bat is too happy to do as it rushes into Moon, nearly knocking her over before stopping to listen to their friend.
Hau was too busy pacing around, mumbling to himself about something before Taur-Hala nudged him roughly. Hau nearly fell over, almost unfazed. Looking at his Pokemon companion, Hau scowled. How could they be sitting around doing nothing? Lillie was in danger! And now Hau had a chance to go and help her and here they were trying to waste time and-
Hau sighed, before stroking Taur-Hala's neck. Man, Hau needed to relax a bit more. Lillie might be in trouble, but if Hau isn't calm when he finds her, would that be a good thing? No way! Hau smiled at his Tauros buddy, the Wild Bull Pokemon surprisingly calm. In fact, it seemed that the Pokemon's timing was impeccable; Hau nodded as he listened to both Blue and Moon. Then the tables turned to him.
Two girls wanted him to decide who to go with? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? That's crazy! Girls had cooties! Well, except Moon, because she was kinda like a guy. But Blue was wearing really short clothing, and Valorie had adult nails. That makes them adults, or worst... Teenagers. Yuck. But nothing was going to happen without Hau deciding, so he had to bite the bullet on this...
"...Well, if Moon and I really gotta split up, I think I'll go with Miss Blue. No offense, Valorie, but you and Moon look like you'd be a good team, with your Dragonite and Nebby! Miss Blue's also from Kanto, so I can ask her a whole ton of cool questions about what Kanto's like, how the weather is, if there's any cool Volcanoes, how the trainers are..."
Hau stumbled through his words a bit and laughed, getting a bit red. "Plus... Uh, well, I dunno. Seemed right, I guess. Well, we going or what?"Totally not because he thought Blue was pretty. Definitely.

Valorie curiously looked up at Moon. “...Alright!” she replied. Working with another girl suited her just fine. She was nothing if not a fan of aesthetic. ...Plus, she was pretty confident Blue was a better detective than she was. She wasn't sure about Moon, so it was hard for her to argue with Hau's choice. “Let's take the western shore then, Moon.” Valorie offered. “...Hopefully this place is as cute as it looks from a distance.” she murmured, beginning to wander off westward.
Leading the way westward, Valorie was sort of... aimlessly wandering around, just kind of keeping an ear out for any cries for help or any signs of life, ocassionally calling out for Lillie. This lead her off the beach and into the tropical forest. As a rather short and unathletic girl, it wouldn't be hard for Moon to keep up with her. “...Haven't seen too many monsters, have you?” Valorie asked, mildly unnerved by the lack of wild pokemon running about. Usually it wasn't hard to spot them, at least from a distance. But this place felt unusually quiet. Were pokemon just avoiding them?
Just then, a pair of innocent looking vines near Moon would animate, wrapping around her arm and waist, coiling around her and drawing her up into the trees! Her bag would get wrenched from her shoulders in the process, landing with a thud behind Valorie, who turned about in bewilderment, denying her access to her pokemon. "...Moon?" Valorie asked in confusion.
Up in the trees, Moon would find herself face to face with a victreebel. It stared at her for a moment, sizing her up and fussing with her using its vines, each moment spent grabbing at her, resisting any struggles she might make.
((Moon! Roll 14+ Strength to overcome the vines!))

Blue smiled fondly at Hau, but resisted the urge to get sassy. Much as it suited her to butter people up, it seemed rather insensitive to do that right now. “...And I'll take good care of you.” Blue replied in a thoughtful tone. Well--okay. Maybe just a little playfulness. “And I suppose I wouldn't mind answering some questions while we're here, if you really want me to~” Blue offered. She figured she could at least pay attention to Hau and the search at the same time, but she'd leave it up to Hau if he could do the same.
She began leading the way east along the beach at a leisurely pace, careful not to rush for fear of overlooking a fallen Lillie that might not be well enough to call out to her. “Kanto's pretty nice. A lot of people don't realize how cold it gets during the winter though. The only volcano we have is down by Cinnabar Island. It actually erupted a few years after I left to start traveling abroad, taking out the entire island. So that wasn't very cool.” Blue explained, pausing for a moment to place her hands on her hips and look around. “It's definitely a whole other culture over there... Is Li your first time traveling abroad?” Blue asked.
((Hau! Make a perception check! Wis!))
Why don't you become one of my pokemon? A cutie like you would be a perfect fit for my team~! Think about it, okay?
Post by Coolshaymin on Sept 30, 2019 10:34:55 GMT -8
... She's from out of Alola and he never asked her what home was like. Blue getting that attention too... "Sounds good to me, just try not to have too much fun and focus, okay Hau?" she commented, trying not to be too hard but this was not really a meet and greet, this was a lookout of Lilie's life. "Alright, let's go," she turned around and head off with Valoire... She didn't really know her skillset much... Although she mostly recogonized Blue's abilities by Pokemon still, from what she gathered she has a Dragonite. "It did look beautiful but we should still be on guard. We have no idea what inhabits this island or what it's like," she replied. Honestly she was not sure it'd beat a view from above anyway...
She kept her eyes open for any signs of movement or something was around here but oddly she did not pick up on too much. "Nope. Which is concerning. Some kind of monsters and predators prefer to catch prey off guard. Can't say for sure if there is one around here, but the island looked like it'd have some life so it's strange..." Moon looked around for a moment. In an area like this it'd probably be easy for a Grass Type to be hiding too-"Wha-?!" was all Moon had time to utter as the vines made her move to hoist her up, her bag falling down onto the ground.
A victreebell?! It's vines were so well hidden in the environment that even with her experience she was not able to tell. This is not good either, these things are not exactly pleasant Pokemon to meet in these circumstances. She could feel her heart beat faster. Okay, most her stuff was on the ground, that rules out a lot of her options unless Valorie noticed. If she didn't... What was the best solution here? If she called down it might alert some other things and it was watching her so it's not like she could drop something without it noticing... There was not very many options at this point. Just a bad case scenario and a worst case if she could not get herself down. "Above!" Moon attempted to call down. Needed to keep it short and brief in case the action caused a problem from her struggling.
Alas it was no real use outside tiring herself some. For all her speed, precision and dexterity, Moon was always somewhat lacking in pure physical strength, which is now biting her... Metaphorically and potentially physically... Assuming the Victreebell does not go with it's usual methods. Dang it, they just got here yet she was already mostly helpless. Some champion she is, for all her archery, medical and Pokemon Skills, none of it matters if she can't utilize it....
Hau carefully listened to Blue as they went along, riding Taur-Hala, and keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of his crushbest friend Lillie. GAH, why was his head in such a weird place? Lillie was his friend! Maybe his best friend, but wasn't Moon Hau's best friend? And she certainly wasn't his crush!! Girls had cooties (except Moon, because Moon was cool) and cooties make you want to have tea parties and eat crumpets and junk. Hau didn't wanna eat crumpets, he wanted to eat Malasada and hang out with his Pokemon! But Lillie...
"...You should come up with a plan to marry her in a few years."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH, why was that old scary dude back in his head?!? Hau was *sure* he finally got that Mirage out of his mind, but here we are again... Maybe Mister Big Scary Man was right. Maybe Hau DID have feelings for Lillie! But the young Trainer didn't know what to do with a girl! They have cooties, that's weird and gross and crumpets! Hau simply shook his head just in time to hear Blue ask him a question.
OK, maybe Hau wasn't listening that intently.
"Li... Yeah, this is my first time away from home. That's sad about that one island, though. Cinnamon Island deserved better, I guess." Hau sighed. "... I wanna see Hoenn one day. I hear it has, like, nothing but islands and water, and it's beautiful! Oh, and I heard Kalos has some killer sights on the coast too! And one day, I wanna go to Sinnoh and be by the ocean and see what oceanside snow looks like! 'Cuz I heard it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy different than the mountain stuff!"
An idea flashed, and he quickly threw another Poke Ball out, revealing the Alolan Raichu. "Rai-Rai, can you help me look for Lillie?" The Pokemon nodded and floated around, also looking for any sign of the Trainer.

She looked around, only to take notice of an eevee just kinda chilling there near her feet, looking up at her. She hesitated for a moment in confusion. “...Huh? What're you doing? Come to say hello?” Valorie asked, unsure if she could trust the thing not to bite her. The eevee smiled at her broadly, at which point two other eevees joined its side, one wearing a bandana and the other sporting a bit of a mohawk and a scar over one of its eyes. They aggressively flanked the first eevee, and their grins took on a more sinister look. Valorie recoiled slightly, reaching for a pokeball. “I will feed you to my tyranitar if you try it.” she warned. At this, the one in the bandana emitted a chittering noise and made a beckoning motion behind it. All at once, a horde of fifty or so eevee burst from hiding and quickly began swarming toward Valorie.
“What the heCK!?”
Valorie's voice cracked with fright at the sight, and before she knew it she was fleeing for her life, screaming into the distance as a horde of gangster eevees chased her. One of them was surfing the mob on a surfboard. The other had a garrote. It isn't clear if either of them knew the intended purposes of these devices. Moon just saw all of this, by the way. She had a clear vantage from where she was being held. The victreebel was also just kind of watching, apparently also interested in the show.
...And then the show ended. As Valorie's panicked yelling grew distant, the victreebel turned its attention back to Moon and began sizing her up with one of its vines. Seeming satisfied, it then lifted her... and carefully deposited her in its mouth. Nom!
